hiya, mod fuyu !! hope you've been well !! i was wondering if i could rq a fuyuhiko x GN!reader imagine where the reader confesses to fuyu but he rejects them bc he doesn't want them to get hurt or targeted? (since he's a yakuza n stuff-) could end happily or sadly, i am up for both !! thank you so much in advance !! <3
Fuyuhiko rejecting GN!reader to keep them safe
I have been well, thank you! I hope the same for you <3
I actually have an idea for this one cause I was recently talking about this kinda issue with a friend (we were making Love Hotel scenes for the characters in the first 2 games, may or may not post them at some point). I may or may not rewrite it better? I haven’t decided yet, but I probably will.
Another request!!
Category: Angst to fluff imagine

When you had figured out you had a crush on a gangster, you knew there were risks.
So you can imagine your own disappointment in yourself when you realized the gangster you liked was the Ultimate Gangster. A Kuzuryu. You fell in love with a Kuzuryu.
But oh lord did you fall deep.
You were already friends with Natsumi, you were used to dealing with the overly aggressive and arrogant front from your brothers. So becoming friends with the girl was easy. Hajime didn’t see how you were able to do such a thing, but appreciated it since it meant he had to break up less fights between her and Sato.
But then there was the day you met the older brother of the (self-proclaimed) Ultimate Little Sister.
The boy hated you at first, especially when he saw what looked to be a gang symbol on that jacket you wore almost all the time. But he mostly hated you due to his overprotective nature of Natsumi. Even though he wouldn’t say it out loud, it was painfully obvious that he was simply looking out for her. You understood, of course. Your own older brother was like that constantly when he was alive. And now that you were the oldest sibling, it was your job to be that way with your other brother.
After a little while though, he learned to not pay much mind when he heard your motorcycle come up to the school. Or when he would see you next to Natsumi. Nor when she would bring you up in conversation like you were the only one she actively hung out with. Through further investigation, he found this was exactly the case. It took longer than he would’ve liked, but he found that Natsumi only had one actual friend. And that was you. That’s when he started to appreciate you a bit.
However, he noticed rather quickly that she only ever used your first name. She never mentioned your last. This made Fuyuhiko suspicious, but he figured she didn’t want your name out amongst the clan.
After Natsumi died, the boy began to see and hear of you even more often. Apparently you had made friends with Peko at the funeral, which he certainly did not expect. He didn’t even realize she had invited you to the funeral by demand of his father. But it was that fact that got him to finally take an interest in you.
Your first meeting that wasn’t a simple wave from you followed by a scoff from him was when you were with Peko in the dojo. He watched the two of you train and meditate, not saying too much until you mentioned your little brother. You had an angry little sibling, that’s how you became friends with Natsumi...
So naturally, that’s what he brought up when the three of you left. You and Fuyuhiko were walking next to each other to your motorcycle home while Peko went her respective route (as to not be connected as Fuyuhiko’s bodyguard). The two of you got along well, surprising the short boy. You could handle his anger issues and calm him down just as well as you did with his sister.
Eventually it had gotten to the point where you got along too well. Which is what lead to today...
—————
You found yourself running out of the reserve course building faster than Hajime even. He watched you run off with a chuckle, wishing you luck on your mission. What was that mission exactly? Confessing your feelings to a certain yakuza.
You had met up with Peko earlier that day, she helped you prepare the letter and cookies. She then took them to her classroom and placed them on Fuyuhiko’s desk. When he had first seen the two, he immediately asked Peko who put them there.
“I did.” She said nonchalantly before quickly adding, “I was asked to by someone.”
Fuyuhiko raised an eyebrow, curious as to why she hadn’t given a name. He knew it couldn’t be from Peko, he would’ve seen her make the cookies. He also knew she wouldn’t deliver him anything that was unsafe, so he opened the letter before the bag of sweets.
—————
Dear Fuyu,
Before you ask, you do know me, but I’m not telling you who I am just yet. All you need to know for now is that I really like you, I have for a while. Even before we met, I admired you from a distance, which is kinda embarrassing to tell you.
If you‘re at all interested in who sent you this, I’ll be waiting at the fountain between the reserve and main course buildings. Hope to see you there... <3
—————
Now this got the gears in Fuyuhiko’s head turning. Someone liked him? Why? How?? Who???
Peko refuses to tell him either, using the excuse “you said I don’t work for you while at school” with a small playful smirk. He wanted to yell at her but it was Peko, he just can’t bring himself to yell at her.
He spent the rest of the day trying to figure out who sent it. It wouldn’t be anyone in class cause Peko put it there. He wasn’t close with many others in different classes. Part of him thought it was someone in the reserve course because it said to meet them between the two course buildings. Except Y/n was the only one he was close with in the reserve course, plus they were the only person to call him “Fuyu”. But there was no way they liked him back... right?
So he went with the only option he had, he was going to see who gave him this letter.
—————
You sat there at the fountain. Hajime had told you it’d be a good place to meet up with Fuyuhiko, since he often sat here with Chiaki. He told her to meet him somewhere else today for you. So here you sat, waiting for someone who may not be interested in coming.
Just as you were considering giving up and going home, you caught a glimpse of a short blonde boy in a main course uniform.
“Y/n..?” He sounded like he didn’t believe you were there. You gave an awkward wave.
“Did you like the cookies?” Your voice was light as he walked up to you, standing only a few feet away.
“Yeah.. they were really good..”
Fuyuhiko’s face was slightly scrunched, like he was thinking about something serious. It left you concerned but you didn’t know what to say. Instead there was a short and kind of awkward silence. It was deafening. After about a minute, he voiced his thoughts.
“You realize how dangerous this is, right?”
Your head tilted in question, making the boy sigh.
“Don’t.. get me wrong, Y/n. I... I-I really like you too.” Your face lit up for a moment, making his next words hard for him to let out. “But.. I’m a yakuza- the heir to the most dangerous gang in Japan.. people are gonna target you. I can’t have that.” He let out another sigh.
Your own face contorted into one of slight confusion. It slowly turned into amusement, causing you to cover your mouth to let out a stifled laugh. Fuyuhiko looked back up, clearly irritated.
“What the fuck are you laughing at?!”
His angry voice was amusing to you and made you laugh even more. This only pissed the boy off further. He stepped forward again and grabbed you by the shoulders, bringing your face close to his.
“This fucking is serious, Y/n! I don’t want to get some call that someone has you hostage! I don’t want to make you go into hiding cause someone threatened to hurt you! I don’t want to end up with you beaten to a pulp! I don’t want to find you dead in a warehouse cause they want to get back at the Kuzuryu clan! I just fucking can’t! Not after.. not after Natsumi..”
His hurt words forced you to calm yourself down. You took a breath and brought your hands from your mouth to his face, his freckled and blush-marked cheeks in your palms. A reassuring smile was steady on your lips.
“Fuyu, what’s my last name?”
The question took him off-guard for the third time that day. He knew Natsumi never mentioned it, neither did Peko. Why did this matter?
“I-I don’t know,” he answered honestly anyways. His eyebrows furrowed in frustration as he waited for a response.
“Owada.”
Fuyuhiko froze for a second. Owada? As in the biker gang Crazy Diamond?? How did he not figure that out??? Your motorcycle, the jacket you almost always wore, hell even the mention of your dead older brother and alive younger one should’ve been a hint.
It took him a minute to realize why you would bring that up. You had protection from that sort of thing. You were used to being targeted. You could defend yourself with ease. You weren’t gong to end up beaten to a pulp or dead in a warehouse like he had feared. You could take care of yourself even with all the violence surrounding gangs, cause you were the coleader of one. Or at least, your brother was the leader and the gang would protect you.
Once again, you let out a small laugh at his facial expression. It had snapped him out of his thoughts before he angrily grabbed you by the collar. He gave one last look into your happy eyes before kissing you.
To say it was inexperienced was an understatement. But you couldn’t care less, this boy was yours. He felt you soften up and let himself do the same, relaxing into the feeling of your connected lips.
Pulling away, you could see the smile on his face grow wide and the red on his face spread even wider. Both of you stood there for a while, simply staring into each other’s eyes. That is until you heard the engine of a motorcycle in the street.
“Y/n!” You let out a sigh and turned to your younger brother with a deadpan face.
“Mondo, I’m in the middle of something here.”
“You can have your fuckin kissy-face shit later, right now the dudes n chicks are wondering where their soon-to-be former leader is! You’re late for your step down party!”
Step down party? Fuyuhiko decided not to question it too much, he’ll probably ask about it later though.
Mondo stood from his bike and took a few strides towards you and the short boy, causing Fuyuhiko to look around to see if Peko had followed him like she usually did. And of course, she had, right behind the bushes surrounding the fountain. He turned back to see you next to your brother, smacking the back of your his head and messing up his pompadour. He looked like he wanted to smack you back but he knew he’d be in some deep shitif he tried. You turned back to Fuyuhiko, kissing him on the cheek lightly.
“I gotta head back, but I was thinking maybe I could get you a ride around town on my bike tomorrow? Like as a first date maybe?”
His smile couldn’t be wider.
“Yeah, I’d really like that- but don’t fuckin crash and kill me!”
“Just cause I’m stepping down as leader for Mondo doesn’t mean I won’t know how to drive a motorcycle anymore, Fuyu!”
He smiled as you let out a final laugh, turning towards the motorcycle Mondo had driven as getting on the backseat. Said brother tried to turn and yell at Fuyuhiko one last time.
“Hurt them and I fuckin swear-”
“-Mondo shut the fuck up and get on.”
“Peko, you’re not killing my partner’s brother.”

You found becoming a DEA agent to be an easy task, falling into the training and field work like they were second nature. You made a name for yourself, eager to the fight and quick to solve the issues presented to you. So, when the opportunity came for you to take an open post in Colombia, in Bogotá, you took it. Transportig your life to the new country seemed easy enough but finding your place amongst the senior agents proved troublesome, especially when Javier Peña seemed to be involved. You'd been placed with him and his partner, Steve Murphy. Where Steve had warmed up to you quickly, Javier stayed distant and cold. Every bit the asshole you had been warned he would be.
Over the coming months, you saw small breaks in the persona the man presented. Whether it was when you joined he and Steve for drinks after a particularly rough day or at the "family dinners" that Connie held once a week. You, even in the briefest of moments, got to see a different side of him. One that showed the crinkle of his face as he laughed at one of the jokes Steve shared, the warmth of his smile as he watched Connie with the Murphy’s little girl and even the lingering glance he'd give you as you told stories about your early days as an agent. A smirk played on his lips every time he saw you home safely and bid you goodnight.
"You know if you keep this up I may think you actually like me or something, Peña." A smile spreads across you face as you lean against the doorway of your apartment.
"Now what would give you that idea?" Javier has a smile of his own as watches you, arms crossed over his chest and head tilted upward ever so slighty.
You chuckle and roll your eyes, turning to disappear into your quiet home. "Goodnight, Javier."
A brief wave of somethig like sadness fills his chest as he watces you turn away, his arm aching to reach out and grasp yours but instead he is met with the soft click of your door. "Yeah.. goodnight, cariña." He mumbles, sighing and rubbing his jaw before he backs away to head to his own place just a floor below.
In the coming weeks, you saw more of that change in Javier. Once in him lingering near the entrance of the office long after finishing his cigarette, fresh cup of coffee in hand for the both of you. You hid the soft smile that crept on to your face at the gesture behind your cup, walking along with him as he explaied yet another lead in the hunt for Escobar. You saw it again in him seeking you out after another raid had failed and your team had lost four men. You'd be alone, gathering your own thoughts when the knocking at the door had pulled you from your silence. Wiping your face quickly, you opened the door to him standing there looking no better than you felt. His jaw clenched and eyes tired as he took your appearance in slowly.
"Mind if I come in?" The softness of his request betraying the way his features held such frustration. You gave a slight nod and made your way back to the chair you'd previously occupied. When he speaks again there's something in his tone you can't quite place, concern maybe. "I couldn't find you when we got back. You disappeared and nobody saw where you went. I thought you'd left. I needed - wanted to make sure you were okay."
You were silent a few seconds before you brought your gaze to his, fresh tears threatening to spill. "Would you be? I lost men, Jav. I lost four good men because of a fucking raid I planned." There's a bite to your words, not at the man in front you but at the pain in knowing you'd cost someone their life for something you believed in, something you trusted. A wave of nausea brought you to your feet, the emotions overwhelming. You let the tears fall, not noticing the gentle pressure of Javier's hand on your arm as he pulled you close. You didn't fight him, instead you turned into him and gave yourself over to the sobs that racked your body.
"Easy, cariña. Easy." Javier rubbed the small of your back, holding you close and letting you cry. His heart broke for the pain you felt and the thought of the guilt you carried. "What happen.. What happen today, it wasn't your fault. The best laid plans fall apart every fucking day and I know that better than anyone else. So does Steve. But this, this raid and what happen to those men wasn't your fault. You want someone to blame, you blame me. Not yourself, me. Understand?"
You listened to him, your tears slowing as spoke to you. Firm but gentle. When you did't respond he said your name softly, repeating his question. "Blame me, no one else. Understand?" He gave you gentle squeeze, words slightly muffled by your hair as he rested his chin against you.*You nodded slowly, pulling away from his tear strained shirt, and answering. "I understand but - "
"No buts. You did your job well today and thats what matters for now. Losing men is never easy but we recover, come back harder the next time and you can bet we will. Harder and faster than this time. We'll avenge the fallen and take that bastard Escobar down a peg or two when we do." Javier looks over your face, absentmindedly reaching to brush a stray tear from your cheek. He lets his hand linger before he shakes his head a little and steps back. "You should take the day. I'll get your reports done. Just go home and rest, yeah?"
You don't stop him as he pulls away, don't reach out fo him the way you want, instead you nod slowly and wrap your arms around yourself to savor the bit of his warmth left. "Are you sure, Jav?"
"Positive, miel. Go home, rest and I'll check on you when I get done here." He gives you a soft smile, not hesitating to reach out and brush your hair from your face. "Maybe I'll bring food too."
"Nothing you cook though because I want to survive the night." You smirk, laughing at his look of shock. "Sorry, you're a great agent but a shit cook." When he grumbles a response, you just shake your head and press a gentle kiss to his cheek. "Thank you, Jav." You squeeze his arm and smile, glancing back at him before you step out into the hallway.
He feels it then, the unsteady beating of his heart as he watches you leave. The feel of your lips still on his cheek and your scent lingering on his shirt, he knows what it is but he won't say it, at least not aloud. He just sighs, "Shit..."
The month that follows is different, you can't place it but something is different between you and Javier. He's more attentive, checks in on you more frequently. Lingering touches, soft smiles and few too many quiet moments shared for you to keep ignoring whatever may be there growing between the two of you. You don't get to bring it up to him, address the elephant in the room, before another wave of information comes in. Leads you needed to help the raid you, Javier and Steve were planning. Though leery to go out again, your partners encouragement had you eager to finally put a dent in the armor Pablo Escobar thought he wore.
"We've get every possibly scenario covered. Too many guards, too few guards. Nothing in the lab, something in the lab. Civilians present, no civilians present. I'm not saying it's perfect but its about the best damn plan we've had in a while." Steve looks up from the map to the small gathering of men, including you.
"Doesn't mean we shouldn't be careful. Expect the unexpected, I don't want another repeat of last time." Your arms cross over your chest as you look at everything spread across the table. “Everyone gets a vest, everyone has a partner. You watch each others back. We work quickly, we get home faster."
"Well you heard her. Date prisa, go get the gear and be out front in ten." Javier gives your arm a firm squeeze and winks before he joins the other men leaving the room.
You feel his gaze on you before you speak, sighing as you look at Steve. “What Murph?"
"You gonna tell him?" Steve quirks an eyebrow as he pops his gum and rocks on his heels.
Your breath catches and you brush it off as a cough as you start to speak again. "I don't know what you mean. There's nothing to tell anyone."
Steve scoffs, shaking his head as he gathers things from the table. "Uh huh. You keep telling yourelf that, darlin.” He smiles and squeezes your shoulder, "If it helps, he feels the same way. I've been that asshole's partner long enough to know when he's fallen for someone and that someone happens to be you." He heads towards the door, glancing back once more. "Just... Just don't wait too long to tell him. With our job, we aren't always promised tomorrow. But I told him the same thing and so far no one has made a move.”
You hesitate in the now quiet room and let Steve's words sink. Whatever you felt, Javier felt it too. You wouldn't wait past today, you'd tell him as soon as you could. "I'll tell him tonight." With vocal confirmation, you nodded to yourself and went out to join your men.
Javier had been right that day in the office as he held you close, the best laid plans really do fall apart and its usually in the worst of ways. There had been an ambush waiting, a leak from your own department tipping the guards off. You were all outnumbered before you even got there, but when you did you gave them hell. Losing two of your own men as they worked to stop the assault. When the man you'd paired yourself with was taken down, you felt the fear of not making it set in. It make you hyper aware, but not enough. Javier had covered your six after your partner went down, keeping an eye on Steve as well. That's how he saw him, lurking just out of your peripheral vision and coming up fast. The solid body crashing into you was enough to distract you from the shots but when the body didn't hurriedly move, you knew something was wrong. You shifted enough and the body of your protector landed beside you, causing him to groan lowly. You could see the blood pooling slowly, panic rising as your eyes traveled up to his face. Javier.
"Steve, fuck! Steve, get some medic here. Javi is shot, he's bleeding out!" You look around for Steve, locking eyes with him as he brings his walkie to his mouth.
"Necesito abulancia. Oficial de policía abajo." He listens to the feedback and curses. "Goddamnit! They're ten minutes out, he got that long?"
You survey the area of the pooling blood, grimacing at the pained sound Javier produces. "Maybe.. I can't be sure. He took a couple rounds, looks like they went through but its not good. It doesn't look good, Murph." You feel the familar burn of tears as they start to form. Steve's voice fading away as you look down to the soft call of your name. "Jav? Take it easy for me, okay? Try not to move."
Javier blinks softly, the vision of you him above edged in darkness. "Mi sol.." He winces, grasping at your hand as you press it against the wounds. "Oh mi sol, I'm sorry."
His sun. You blink back tears as you look him, cupping his face carefully with your free hand. "Javier, why? Why would you do this?" You don't hold back, letting the tears fall freely. The sound of the ambulance outside not pulling you from the moment. "Javi, why? I don't - I can't lose you now."
Javier smiles, its weak and fading but he smiles as he squeezes you hand and starts to lose consciousness. "This.. This is about keeping you alive." When he starts to drift off, he hears hurried spanish and your cries.
A week. Javier Peña lays in a drug induced coma for a week before he starts to become aware again. Its slow at first, a groan that has you gathering a nurse then a few mumbled curses as starts to fully wake up. You watch him drink slowly from the cup of offered water. Closing his eyes again before he slowly opens them once more to scan the room, you hear his breath catching softly as he looks at you. You don't hear the nurse leave, you don't feel yourself move until your close to his side and his hand is in yours. The warm, tan skin familiar and welcome in your grasp.
You get choked up as you start to speak, the reassuring squeeze of his hand in yours bring the words forward. "I.. I thought I lost you."
Javier's voice comes out soft, raspy from lack of use. "Can't kill me if they wanted to, miel. I'm too fucking stubborn to die." He laughs and grimaces, shifting in the bed for you to have room to sit.
You reach up, rubbing his cheek gently once you finally join him. "Well you at least got the stubborn part right." You tease, wiping your eyes as you look at him. Stubble lines his jaw and chin, his hair unkempt and you know he's never looked better. Never looked more alive.
"What's on your mind?" He questions, running his thumb over your knuckles as he watches your eyes shift over him.
"Do you remember what you said? Before you blacked out?" You work your lip between your teeth before he slowly reaches up and pulls it free.
"Si." He cups your cheek, no hesitation in his movements. "Por qué?"
"What did you mean? 'This is about keeping you alive.' What does that mean?" You lean into his hand, savoring the feel of him against your skin.
Javier shifts, taking his hand from your face and wincing he sits up more. When he's finally up and stable, he leans in presses a soft kiss to your lips. Sighing against your mouth as you return his affection, he breaks the kiss and rest your foreheads together. "It means that I can't picture my life without you in it and I don't want to. I'm sorry I waited so long to tell you that, to tell you I love you."
You smile, matching his own as you kiss him again. "Glad to know it takes almost dying to get you to confess your feelings." You joke, closing your eyes and basking in the moment with Javier. "I love you too and I'm not going anywhere."

Fanfic idea: literally anything that has Peter dressed to impress and seemingly being all smooth with Juno and Juno feeling severely underdressed and scruffy and sporting five o clock shadow... and then the POV switches and it turns out Nureyev is barely holding on bc Juno actually looks really raggedly handsome according to him and he's 2 seconds away from imploding and the only reason Juno doesn't notice is bc he's just as starstruck by Peter
I can’t believe you made me write two fanfics in three days
Cross posted to AO3, because that’s just what I do
Being a private eye is not as glamorous as people think. Not that there’s a lot of pizzazz associated with it usually. But people tend not to be aware of just how much time you spend in dusty and dirty places, digging through that dirt to find the clues you need to solve a case.
Luckily Juno’s latest dive into a dumpster had been fruitful. And even more luckily it had been several hours ago, so the smell had mostly worn off, and what was left had gotten covered up with dust and sand and sweat and the client’s perfume that clashed terribly with everything else.
Juno’s coat was still in sore need of a wash. As was the detective.
Another thing people don’t consider is the downtime.
How the time between cases can drag on for weeks without anything to do.
How sometimes you barely get back to start closing the office when another new face pops in.
It wasn’t a new face, technically.
He’d done a valiant job of changing up his contouring to throw people off at first glance, but it was still undeniably him.
Juno hadn’t seen Nureyev in a while.
There had been the whole ordeal with the mask of course.
A few weeks later Nureyev had been back, with a case Juno couldn’t turn down if he wanted to.
And since then Nureyev had been popping back in every few weeks with information on some new, potentially world ending threat.
Juno had never been able to refuse even once.
They hadn’t kissed again in the time they were working together.
They hadn’t even discussed the first kiss.
Nureyev had never said anything, and Juno was certainly not gonna bring it up. He barely knew what he wanted out of this relationship. Wasn’t sure he wanted anything at all.
They hadn’t talked about it, but Juno had thought about it a lot.
It was always there at the back of his mind, and it usually came to the forefront on the nights when Nureyev was around, right when Juno was trying to fall asleep.
And it especially came to mind right now, with Nureyev casually leaning against Juno’s desk, dressed even more impeccably than usually.
The suit made his chest look broader than usual.
The makeup made him look radiant.
The fit of his black pants made it seem like his legs went on forever.
And the corset made it very hard for Juno to resist running his hands over Nureyev’s waist.
Juno had to step a lot closer to smell the familiar cologne over the smell of his own sweat.
Standing next to Nureyev made Juno all too acutely aware of his own messy hair, the stubble threatening to overtake his face, and every single stain on his coat.
“Another case then? Or are you taking me out to dinner?” He asked, making a show of sweeping his eyes over Nureyev’s clothes.
Nureyev shot him a rueful smile, and Juno was certain that his heart would give out any second now.
“If only it were so… It is a case. And an urgent one at that. With a time limit.” Nureyev kicked off of the desk and made for the door. “I’ll explain in the car.”
-
It had indeed been urgent, but luckily that meant it was resolved in one evening.
By the end of it Nureyev’s clothes, hair, and makeup were still somehow flawless.
It was unfair, really. That kiss was still on Juno’s mind, and having Nureyev next to him like… well, like this… hot as always and dressed to the nines, Juno was very much tempted to try initiating another one.
But…
Juno was now covered in a fine layer of Martian sand on top of everything else, his hair had become an entire mess, and he couldn’t smell anything other than sweat and dirt.
And while Juno was usually of the mind that cases took precedence and that showers weren’t a priority, he was starting to feel self-conscious from Nureyev’s gaze that he felt on him constantly but never actually saw, with Nureyev politely averting his eyes just in time whenever Juno looked back.
-
Nureyev was aware that he had caught Juno right on the tail end of a three-day case.
He hadn’t given the detective a moment to clean up, and he was paying dearly for it now.
Juno was sporting slightly more than a five o’clock shadow that Nureyev was dying to feel against his skin. His hair was wind-swept, and there were smudges of dirt and blood littered on Juno’s clothes and skin.
Nureyev couldn’t tear his gaze away from him for more than a few moments at a time, and he was sure that the keen eyed detective had picked up on it by now, but he couldn’t stop himself either.
But he found Juno openly looking at one part of him or another as well occasionally, so at least it seemed to be a mutual feeling.
The problem of looking at Juno too much got resolved when they made it back to the car and Nureyev had to keep his eyes on the road.
But it didn’t make his previous thoughts go away, and it brought another issue or two into the equation.
Juno was riding shotgun, his legs comfortably spread, and every time Nureyev went to change gears, his hand brushed along the detectives thigh, which really should have affected Juno more than Nureyev, but oh well, here they were.
And Juno smelled like sweat and earth, and it made Nureyev all the more aware of Juno’s body in such close proximity.
It took every ounce of willpower in Nureyev not to pull the car over and ravish the detective, tangling his fingers in messy locks, breathing the lady in more deeply, before tasting him again, feeling the stubble scratch against his skin, only on his face at first, but maybe later he’d be amenable to-
Dammit, Nureyev, focus!
-
They’d made it a habit to go back to Juno’s apartment and have a drink after a successful job.
Juno wanted nothing more than to finally take a shower and get into a fresh set of clothes - appreciating Nureyev’s looks in a more proactive manner was a close second - but he couldn’t find it in himself to ask Nureyev to leave.
Juno should have gone to pick up the glasses and a bottle of liquor.
They should have sat down on opposite ends of the sofa, an appropriate distance from each other, and made some easy small talk and lighthearted jokes.
Nureyev should have been on his way soon after.
And that should have been that for the next few weeks.
Juno didn’t go fetch the drinks. Instead he was still busy despairing over Nureyev’s perfect hair and clothes and face, and wondering since when Nureyev thought less of him for the traces his work left on him.
They didn’t sit down and talk. Instead they unconsciously shifted closer, silently taking each other in.
Nureyev didn’t leave. Instead he took the last step into Juno’s personal space, reaching out to tilt Juno’s head up with one hand.
Nureyev hesitated for a moment, searching Juno’s face, which must have screamed a hopeful yes, with only a slight undercurrent of confusion.
He tangled his fingers in Juno’s messy locks, stopping just short of closing the distance, to take a deep breath, before pressing his lips to Juno’s.
Juno had seen it coming a mile away, but he was still taken off guard. And Nureyev used Juno’s surprised gasp as an opportunity to deepen the kiss.
Juno let himself enjoy the kiss and the hand sliding under his coat and along his back for a moment.
But… That…
When Nureyev had been looking at him the entire evening, was that…
By all accounts, it didn’t make sense.
Juno pulled away from the kiss, to voice his confusion.
“Are you sure you want to be kissing me right now? When I’m such a mess?”
“Juno!” The name came out in a disbelieving laugh, the corners of Nureyev’s mouth curled up. Then his expression changed, like he was looking at something precious. His eyes ran over Juno’s face. “Juno…” It came out as a dreamy sigh this time, before Nureyev leaned back in. “You’re perfect like this.”
