TV: We Are Who We Are (2020)

Tres años después del suceso de Llámame por tu nombre ("Call Me By Your Name"), Luca Guadagnino creó (junto a Paolo Giordano, Francesca Manieri y Sean Conway), coescribió (Giordano y Manieri fueron las otras plumas) y dirigió una miniserie de ocho capítulos de aproximadamente una hora cuyo protagonismo recayó en adolescentes. Producida para la cadena HBO, "We Are Who We Are" ("Somos quienes somos", aunque casi todos los episodios llevan el título de "Right Here, Right Now", "Aquí y ahora"), la serie se grabó en Venecia (mayormente), Bagnoli di Sopra y Bolonia.

Aunque es sostenida por un amplio elenco juvenil, la historia esencial se centra en Fraser Wilson (Jack Dylan Grazer) y Caitlin Poythress (Jordan Kristine Seamón). Fraser es un chico de catorce años que arriba con su madre, Sarah (Chloë Sevigny, vista en "Los chicos no lloran") y la esposa de ésta, Maggie (Alice Braga) a una base militar estadounidense en Italia, adonde Sarah iniciará su labor como comandante. Al principio, todo el mundo lo ve como un bicho raro: tiene el pelo teñido de un blanco furiosos y sus uñas pintadas de distintos colores. Su actitud rebelde e incluso violenta con su madre (con Maggie, también militar, es con quien mejor se lleva) provoca constantes batallas en su casa.

Tras dejar una relación no definida con un tal Mark en Nueva York, lugar de donde proviene, se conecta con Caitlin, con quien se siente fascinado desde el primer momento. Más tarde descubrirá que la joven, hija de un militar estadounidense, Richard (el músico Kid Cudi, aquí acreditado como Scott Mescudi) y su esposa, Jenny (Faith Alabi) y hermana menor de Danny (Spencer Moore II), siente confusiones con respecto a su género, haciéndose llamar Harper.

Al hablar de "amplio elenco juvenil" nos referimos a un grupo que incluye a Sam Pratchett (el ex novio celoso de Caitlin, interpretado por Ben Taylor), su hermano mayor, el simpático Craig (Corey Knight), Britney Orton, la mejor amiga de Caitlin (Francesca Scorsese, actriz y directora, además de hija de, nada menos, Martin Scorsese), Valentina (novia de Craig, en la piel de Beatrice Barichella), Enrico (Sebastiano Pigazzi), Sole (Vittoria Bottin), Giulia (una chica interesada en Harper e interpretada por Nicole Celpan) y Luca (un breve interés amoroso de Fraser, rol de Arturo Gabbriellini).

Ya al comenzar se da cuenta de que la serie contiene muchos elementos no muy apropiados para televidentes teens: escenas de desnudez y sexo y escenas de consumo de alcohol y otras sustancias extrañas. Si lees comentarios de sitios como imdb.com, advertirás que las opiniones son muy diferentes, por no decir opuestas: hay quienes critican su lentitud narrativa o lo irreal con que se presenta la vida cotidiana en una base militar, mientras que otros resaltan el respeto y la frescura con que se encara la tarea de reflejar la adolescencia actual, a la vez que se alaba el tratamiento cinematográfico del show (y es verdad: la cadencia y la acertada musicalización la asemeja más a una película de casi ocho horas que a una serie televisiva). O dia pós Super Bowl é sempre um ótimo dia para os amantes da sétima arte. A Paramount liberou um novo trailer de Knuckles, série derivada da franquia Sonic.

A série se passará entre os eventos de Sonic 2 e Sonic 3, que tem o lançamento marcado para dezembro deste ano. A produção mostrará Knuckles “aceitando treinar Wade como um pupilo e ensinando-o o caminho dos guerreiros equidnas.”

A série contará com o retorno de Idris Elba na voz de Knuckles, além de Edi Patterson, Scott Mescudi, Ellie Taylor, Rory McCann e Christopher Lloyd.

A série terá 6 episódios e estreia no dia 27 de abril no Paramount+.
