Today, AAA the inter-house sports event showcased boys competing in Kabbadi and girls in Kho Kho.

Madam Principal inaugurated the event with her inspiring words, fostering excitement and determination among the participants.

In the boys' Kabbadi matches, displays of strength and strategic gameplay captivated the audience. On the other hand, the girls exhibited remarkable speed and agility in the Kho Kho matches.

The principal's encouragement served as a driving force, emphasizing the values of sportsmanship and teamwork. The ground was filled with the spirit of unity, competition, and friendship.

All the Captains and Vice-Captains organized the event successfully.

Evaluatie Inter Guyanese Spelen 2023

Vertegenwoordigers van Guyana, Frans-Guyana en Suriname zijn 11 januari  bij elkaar gekomen om de Inter Guyanese Spelen, die het afgelopen jaar in ons land zijn gehouden, te evalueren. Onder de aanwezigen bevonden zich de directeuren van sport van alle drie landen, namelijk Steve Ninvalle van Guyana, Elodie Arras van Frans-Guyana en Gordon Touw Ngie Tjouw van Suriname. De organisatie van de vergadering lag in handen lag van de Stichting Schoolsport Federatie Suriname. De vergadering werd geleid door Aniel Ghisaidoobe, voorzitter van Stichting Schoolsport Federatie Suriname (SSFS). De stichting, een werkarm van het ministerie van Regionale Ontwikkeling en Sport, heeft vanuit de overheid het mandaat om schoolsport binnen Suriname te helpen ontwikkelen op nationaal en internationaal niveau. Alle vertegenwoordigers waren in grote lijnen tevreden met het verloop van de Spelen waarbij duidelijke van “improvement” hebben ervaren in alle facetten van de organisatie van de Spelen. Er is kortom vol lof gesproken over de algehele organisatie van de Spelen. Het is bekend dat ons land winnaar is geworden van het internationaal scholieren sporttoernooi. Behalve de terugblik op de afgelopen IGS is ook gesproken over de Inter Guyanese Spelen die dit jaar in Cayenne, Frans-Guyana worden gehouden in de periode 23  –  27 oktober. De Fransen konden nog niet veel kwijt over de komende Spelen, maar de organisatie zal in de komende tijd een aantal logistieke zaken in voorbereiding nemen, welke op 22 en 23 februari a.s. besproken zullen worden in Cayenne met de vertegenwoordigers van Suriname en Guyana. Als onderdeel van de voorbereiding hebben de directeuren, de vertegenwoordigers van Frans-Guyana en de leiding van de SSFS een bezoek gebracht aan de Ambassadeur van Frankrijk. Het is meer een informatieve bijeenkomst geweest waarbij de Franse Ambassadeur zijn complimenten heeft overgebracht aan de organisatie van het toernooi, alsook de mate van plezier die hij heeft mogen beleven tijdens het bezoeken van de diverse wedstrijden van de IGS 2023. Vanuit de SSFS, alsook de directeur van Guyana, is de omslachtige procedure alsook afhandeling van visum aanvragen o.a. onder de welwillende aandacht van de ambassadeur gebracht. Daarnaast was de ambassadeur ook heel erg onder de indruk van de fijne samenwerking van de drie landen om IGS steeds naar een hoger niveau te tillen. De ambassadeur gaf verder aan dat hij de bezorgdheden die onder zijn aandacht zijn gebracht, serieus zal bekijken en via de organisatie in Frans-Guyana verder zal communiceren. In elk geval kan het gastland rekenen op de volle ondersteuning van de andere twee landen. De evaluatie meeting werd afgesloten met de collectieve overtuiging dat de IGS ook dit jaar een succes zal zijn. Read the full article
