that was actually a very funny post because. okay, again, i don’t have context for thirteen, but that post was sooo adamant that the reason thirteen’s run was bad was that the doctor didn’t fall in love with yaz and. i believe they phrased it as ‘cut her toxic ex-boyfriend out of her life for good’. because apparently it’s only at this point that the master has done truly unforgivable things and not the like 40 times he showed up before murdering people and torturing the doctor for fun. <3 sorry that’s just how they love and it’s beautiful

“My Fairy Abogado” *Part 10*
Dammit I usually like to keep my stories around 10 chapters, but the whole ice cream banter was too good and the crescendo I want is way too long to not have it’s own chapter. Also, some Barisi thrown in there for ya. LoL.
I suppose it’ll be one more chapter and an epilogue? Maybe?

FINALE
-------------
After stitching you up, and after a long conversation convincing the nurse that Rafael had not done the number on your body, you two were finally leaving the ER.
“Alright buddy, you promised me ice cream,” You hung on Rafael’s arm as you walked out to the awaiting SUV.
“You really wanna get ice cream without the kids?” Rafael asked as he helped you into the backseat once again.
“Uh are you kidding? I don’t have to fight with them over what flavors they want, or if it’s too expensive and they have to share, and not worrying about Chloe getting it all over herself, doing ANYTHING in public without the kids is a luxury I miss the most,” You felt guilty about rambling about your siblings, but it was awesome being able to just vent.
“Alright Alright, I get it-- having kids sucks,” Rafael laughed.
“I mean don’t get me wrong; I love my brother and sisters. I’m just not...cut out to be a mother. Not right now, anyway,” You looked around the car awkwardly, kicking yourself for bringing up kids so soon.
“Yeah, I never really saw the point in kids,” Rafael chuckled.
“So you don’t want them, ever?” You were a bit taken aback. It shouldn’t be shocking to you really; Rafael was getting up there, and he seemed to like his things nice and tidy. He must’ve seen the look on your face because he quickly added--
“I mean….” He gulped. “I guess, with the right person…”
“You know for a lawyer, lying is not your strong suit,” You snickered.
You finally arrived at a nearby ice cream place; Rafael helped you out and you both walked inside while your copper stood outside.
“Doesn’t he want anything?” You nodded to the man.
“He’s fine,” Rafael replied, not even looking back at him.
“Hey guy, what’s your name?” You turned to talk to him.
“Carisi ma’am, Sonny Carisi,” He nodded at you.
“Sonny do you really not want any ice cream, or is Big Bad Barba being a tyrant?”
“I could go for a scoop,”
“See?” You smiled triumphantly.
“He’s like a puppy baby, you feed him once he’ll just keep coming around,” He nodded at Sonny. “Trust me, I know,” He rolled his eyes.
“You can get ice cream but you wait in the car Carisi,” He looked at him sternly.
“Copy that, counselor,” Sonny replied very seriously.
“Jesus Rafael, what is this guy your bitch or what?” You hit him softly.
“Oh no ma’am, I wanna be a lawyer just like Mr. Barba so I spend as much time with him as I can,” He looked at Barba with puppy dog eyes. “As a mentor,” He quickly added, looking at the ground.
“Oh um-- yeah okay, cool?” You smiled awkwardly at him, then noticed Rafael was getting very uncomfortable the more he talked.
“....Wait… feed him once...Rafael!” You whispered so Sonny wouldn’t hear you.
“ONE night, ONE time,” He rubbed the back of his neck looking around the place awkwardly.
“Mmmm...both sides, noted,” You winked.
“Sonny go ahead,” Barba nodded to the woman at the counter.
“What can I get you?” She smiled at the three of you.
“Two scoops of Rocky Road, please,” Sonny beamed.
“Um I’ll have a scoop of chocolate mint,” You decided.
“A scoop of vanilla for me,” Rafael added.
“Why is that not surprising to me?” You rolled your eyes.
“What? I have simple tastes,”
“Uh huh,”
Rafael paid and the three of you waited for your ice cream at the other end of the counter. Soon enough the woman handed out your ice creams and bid you a good day.
“Thanks Mr. Barba, I’m gonna go call Amanda and see what’s up at the station,” Sonny smiled and headed back outside with his ice cream.
“See? Now he has a new master,” Rafael chuckled.
“Yeah I doubt that-- you’re kind of hard to top, counselor,” You nudged him.
“He didn’t have any problem,” He smirked.
“OKAY, I think we’re good in the ghosts of sexual past portion of the evening,” You declared rather loudly as you sat in a booth near the door.
“Sorry Y/N, I didn’t know you were such a prude,” He smirked.
“I’m sorry if I don’t want to picture mi novio  being topped by a dude,” You rolled your eyes.
“Your boyfriend?” He asked in amusement.
“I mean...I did save your life, twice,” You pointed out.
“Mmmm true-- I suppose that’s girlfriend material,” Rafael nodded with a smile.
“Damn straight,” You nodded back, as you both continued to eat your ice cream in snarky matrimony.
“So, no kids, no pets?”
“I don’t have any currently, but I could see maybe getting a cat, or a small dog,”
“Oh my god could you be any more of an old lady?” You giggled.
“Hey! I live in an apartment in New York City, I don’t want some huge dog cooped up in it all day!” He defended. “That’s just cruel,”
“Fair point,” You licked your ice cream. “No kids I can live with, no pets is a deal breaker though,”
“Really now?” He raised his eyebrow as he ate his own ice cream. “Noted,”
“So do you have any?” You nibbled on your cone.
“What?”
“Deal breakers,” You replied in a “duh” tone.
“Just one,” He replied nonchalantly.
“What’s that?”
“If they’re not you,” He grinned.
“Oh gaaaaaaggggg,” You made gagging noises with a giggle. “Be more cheesy, please,”
“Okay okay, one deal breaker--”
“Go on,” You were on the edge of your seat.
“Wearing socks during sex,”
“Are you serious?” You cackled as you swallowed the rest of your cone.
“Yes! I am very serious,” Rafael nodded as he finished his cone. “Ask Carisi,”
“Oh God,” You shook your head with a laugh as you both walked back out to the car.
“Hey uh, Mr. Barba Amanda says they might need you down at the station,”
“Really? Now?” Rafael ask, annoyed.
“It’s what she said…” Sonny replied with a shrug.
“It’s fine, baby I need to go check on the kids anyway, they’re probably freaking out by now,”
“Yeah alright,” He sighed sadly.
Soon enough you were pulling back up behind your back door. Rafael helped you out of the car and just held you in his arms for a moment.
“You sure you’re ok?”
“Are you kidding? The Diablo’s are gone for good, I got a boyfriend AND ice cream!” you giggled, pulling him into a kiss.
“Boyfriend?” Beto’s voice bellowed.
“Ice cream?!” Chloe’s high voice chimed in.
You both turned suddenly to see all three kids standing at the back door slack jawed.
“Are the Diablo’s really gone?” Yaz asked, being the only one who hadn’t joined in yet.
“Yes, they are gone-- THANKS to Rafael,” You eyed Beto while Chloe took off for Rafael’s arms.
“¡Gracias, Rafael!!!” She squealed.
“De nada, princesa,” He kissed her cheek.
“...Did you really get ice cream without us?” Chloe looked at him with the saddest eyes.
“Blame your sister,” Rafael nodded at you.
“Y/N!!!!!” She yelled angrily.
“Gee thanks,”
“You insisted!”
“I got sh---a boo boo!!” You covered your tracks, causing your siblings to finally notice the shape you were in.
“Oh my God what happened to you?!”
“Diablo’s” You said softly.
“Because of HIM?” Beto clenched his fists.
“NO, Rafael saved me Beto,”
“Actually, to be honest Beto” He put a shoulder on Beto’s shoulder “She saved me.”
“We saved each other,” You laid your head on his shoulder.
“Gag,” Yaz made gagging noises behind you.
“Anyway, Rafael is leaving now BUT-- maybe if you guys do all your homework and eat all your dinner AND go to bed early, we’ll see if you can convince him to take you to get some tomorrow,”
“Really?!” Chloe exclaimed excitedly. “I’m gonna go do all of it RIGHT NOW,” She gave Rafael one more hug and ran inside.
“Chloe’s easy to buy off vato-- me, not so much,” Beto approached Rafael.
“I’d be careful Beto, he used to be a Chico Grande,” You warned with a sly smile.
“Wha-- seriously?” Beto’s eyes widened. “No way….tu suaves,”
“Oh really, too soft? You wanna go, ese?” Rafael licked his lips, playing into Beto’s game.
“BOYS,” You stepped in between them.
“You, go do your homework,” You looked at Beto, then turned to Rafael, “And you-- stop picking on my little brother,”
“He started it!”
“esto no ha terminado, vato,” Beto warned, making the “I’m watching you” sign as he walked back inside with Yaz who just rolled her eyes. As soon as they were gone you turned and slapped Rafael across the chest.
“What?! What did I do?” He threw his hands up innocently.
“You’re ridiculous, you know that?” You wrapped your arms around his neck.
“And you love it,” He smirked.
“God help me, I do,” You shook your head as he pulled you into a deep kiss.
“Te amo, mi angel,” He whispered as he stroked your hair.
“Yo también te quiero, Rafa,” You stared lovingly into his beautiful green eyes. He gave you one last kiss and hopped in the front of the SUV. Sonny waved goodbye to you as they drove off and you headed inside.
------
The next few weeks went by pretty uneventful. You decided to rip out the booths that had the bullet holes behind them and put in a stage, starting Karaoke Nights every Friday night. It was a great money maker to your surprise, since it had been Ash’s idea. She was a pretty good business woman, you wondered how much Rafael had rubbed off on her over the years.
One Friday night, Ash was getting ready to host the usual Karaoke Party, when Rafael came through the front door. He was casually dressed, in his jeans and t-shirt with the leather jacket. He had learned very quickly that you much preferred him in paisano, plus he didn’t look like he had taken a wrong turn at 5th avenue. This was the first Friday he was able to make, and when he had come and seen you over the past few weeks Ash had found ways to avoid him. Tonight though, she was right up front when he walked in.
“Ash...can we talk?” He gestured to the side.
“Go ahead, start talking,” She gestured, indicating she wasn’t going anywhere.
“Ash I’m sorry I didn’t tell you the whole story behind the money I gave you,” He put his hand out. “I should have been honest with you right up front but, you were SO young,”
“Yeah….I get it,” She reluctantly took his hand in return. “You did get rid of the Diablo’s, I guess that gets you some points,”
“Well I brought you something,” He pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to Ashtawnja. She took it and unfolded the paper, her eyes grew wide.
“Really? You still want me to have this? Even after I yelled at you?”
“Yeah, but it’s not guilt money anymore,” He nodded at the check. “Look at the ‘reason’ line,”
“Creo en ti” She read with tears in her eyes. “Do you really? Believe in me?”
“Si, Claro,” He smiled, pulling her into a hug. “Of course I do,”. Pulling back from the hug, Rafael felt his phone going off in his pocket.
“Barba,” He answered, listening to the other person. He nodded as they went on, then his eyes began to brighten. “Really?! Are you sure? What time?” He looked over at Ash who just looked at him in confusion, the more excited he became the more she was confused.
“Right right, yeah I’m on my way!” He hung up the phone and hugged Ash.
“Whoa whoa whoa there abogado, you know I hate mushy gushy,” She pushed him off with a laugh.
“Right,” He smiled.
“So who was that?”
“Oh right--- tell Y/N I had to go, I’ll call her later I swear!!” He told her as he ran out the door, just as you were walking up.
“Was that Rafael?” You asked.
“Yeah, he got a phone call and ran out of here, said he’d call you later,”
“Wha--Why?” You looked out the window but Rafael was long gone.
“I don’t know, but he was pretty happy,” She shrugged, putting her check into her pocket.
Who had called him and why was he so happy about it??5

A Punny Death
This is my first fic! Please be kind! It’s not going to be long at all.
Warning: 2 very bad puns. And I ask for your forgiveness.
—————————————————————————————————————
The Doctor, Agent O, Graham, Ryan, Yaz and Y/N had all managed to get into Barton’s plane relatively safely. And by safely I mean running directly behind the plane and then preceding to jump onto it! Because that is something you clearly should do, according to the Doctor.
“Thanks for helping me up back there” O said as he turned to Y/N
“No problem! Im surprised I got on, I’m used to the running now but jumping into planes?” You giggled as you shared a look with O and he couldn’t help but return the action with a laugh.
“I’ve never been good at sprinting” O said continuing your conversation, despite the lack of oxygen in your lungs, he was faking it, but still.
“Forget sprinting, I don’t think I’m quite used to running at all yet”
O, yet to be revealed as the Master, had gotten quite close to Y/N in the short time of your acquaintance. While Graham may have been keeping a running commentary, Y/N was making jokes. Bad jokes. The worst jokes imaginable. A few puns that flew right over O’s head, he caught on that it was, in fact, a joke of sort when Graham groaned.
One that didn’t fly over his head, and he was ashamed that he didn’t pick up on it before he replied, was the classic
“Hey O! Wanna know how NASA plans their parties?”
“How?”
“They plan-et” you said with a grin practically splitting your face. An expression he connoted with you making a joke that you knew was awful. So he groaned.
Apparently this was the correct response as you started laughing harder than you already were. O merely rolled his eyes, trying to stay in character, yet laughed a little by instinct. They were not bad jokes, in fact he found them rather amusing, despite the awful quality.
The godawful jokes continued to be heard at random throughout their little adventure. O nearly lost it when you said “Where’s the platypus when you need him” as you were sneaking around Barton’s jet hanger.
Having gotten a little bored during his time in MI6 and having already took a liking to TV as one of his previous regenerations he decided to look into more modern day tv shows, finding Phineas and Ferb.
He was about to burst out in laughter when Graham scolded you. You pouted completely unaware of the entire groups shoulders shaking in an obvious attempt to hold in laughter, including Grahams.
Currently, having just jumped onto a plane, the jokes have stopped, for a few minutes at least.
“What are we actually going to do?” Yaz huffed out. Seriously, ran after a plane and jumped onto it. Can you blame her for being out of breath?
“Sit tight and see where he’s going” the Doctor replied, out of breath but clearly not suffering as much as the humans were cause she’s lucky causes she’s a time lord and has done more ridiculous stuff than this.
“Amen” You exclaimed as you sat down in one of the rows of chairs...cause you know, running after a plane AND JUMPING ON IT
“What were you doing in the kitchen Y/N? The party was outside” Ryan asked you.
“Officially? Looking for anything not obvious” you replied holding your lungs
“And unofficially?” Graham asked, already dreading the answer. Everyone looked at you, waiting for, what was going to be, a horrible joke.
“Trying to steal his cutlery” you replied knowing the next line, the groans incoming.
“Y/N! Why would you do that?! What if you were caught?!” There it was, the approaching line. You knew Yaz would go all police woman on you, thus providing you the perfect opportunity...
“It was a whisk I was willing to take” you deadpanned. Slowing turning into the famous grin.
The groans from all present were worth it. You laughed for a good 5 minutes despite the pain in your lungs.
Everyone including O just smiled at you. Each thinking you were cute. Then the Doctor remembered something that O said a few minutes before...
“Never been good at sprinting?” She asked O, confused.
“I was the last one in every race at school”
“No no no, I read your file. Your a champion sprinter” She huffed out, unaware that she broke his disguise.
The air in the room (plane?) shifted. You could feel something was wrong even from where you were sitting.
You couldn’t see it but O’s innocent (attractive) face dropped. He knew his facade was no longer going to work he stood thinking for a second or two until..
“Got me” whispered words, yet louder than echos.
“Well done”
The words scaring you into sitting upright, despite the pain in your lungs. This wasn’t the O you had come to know.
“What’s going on,Doc?” Graham’s voice was barely heard as you kept you senses focused on ‘O’. More confused than afraid, afraid all the same, you started to stand when he suddenly whirled around and out his hand out towards you. His hand raised to nearly eye hight and palm facing you, as if he were a magician.
“Sit down, Love.” The spoken command sounded soft to your ears and mirrored his smile. O’s smile.
You did as you were told so he turned back to the Doctor. A small laugh, as if he’d done nothing more than a harmless prank, to her as he turned his head over his shoulders to address the others.
“Well you’d best take a look out the window”
The fam did exactly that, except for you. As you stood to look a firm hand wrapped around your waist, pulling you towards a tall warm body. Looking up towards their face and seeing the O that you had known, not the one nearly laughing maniacally a second ago, confused you. This person isn’t O. Whether there had ever been a real O, or whether you had met the real one was yet to be determined. But you felt that this man was the one you had gotten close too. But who was he?
“How is your house out there?” Graham’s voice broke your thoughts. Only to start about her round.
“What?!” You got as close to the window as you could, with ‘O’ still holding onto you. And Graham was right, his house was out there.
He let you go so you could look.
“A little bit wicked witch of the west” you almost laughed. You really did. Then you remembered the situation. Though O did see you smile unknowingly, he knew you were amused and if this was a different situation you would have laughed. He frowned for a second wishing that you had laughed, but he knew you were confused. Remembering that the Doctor would be equally as confused was what got him smiling again.
“But you get the gist! Maybe, maybe not”
He tuned around leaning lazily against the wall. (Hand on hip as if he didn’t know what that would do to the audience watching.)
“Come in Doctor, catch up”
“You can do it, come on” acting as if he was a tutor, helping a child.
The Doctors mouth dropped in realisation.
“Ooooh”
O looked happy at that response, maybe even excited.
“That’s my name, and that is why I chose it”
“Oh so satisfying” He smiled.
“It was a bad pun even for me” you whispered. You were too confused to even notice you spoke that out loud or that you were even smirking at the godawful pun that he made, and let’s be honest, you WOULD have made that pun.
He looked at you a smiled softly, a low laugh that he only kept going for you, even with his disguise dropped. He quickly switched his attention to the Doctor.
“Doctor I did say, look for the spymaster”
his voice started dropping lower. In time not volume. Almost as if he was becoming someone else.
“Or should I say, spy...”
“Master”
The Doctor looked horrified and he took a deep, staggered, breath.
“Hi” he smiled. His whole demeanour had changed. Even his eyes, they burned with a hated and target into the Doctor.
“You can’t be”
“Oh I can be and very much am”
“So what’s going on then, if he’s not really O” Ryan spoke up for us confused humans in the back. Literally, back of the plane.
“I’m her best enemy” He responded as he got closer to the Doctor, laughing at her face when he stood next to her.
“Call me Master”
He addressed the fam as he started speaking, but in his last word, his name, he kept his eyes locked to yours.
Words of confusion arose from the fam, the Doctor still yet to recover from the shock.
“Me and her, we go way way way back”
“I met O” The Doctor trying to figure the situation asked the Master.
“I know”
“Years ago”
“I know!” He replied to her, laughing all the while.
“But there was an O at MI6! C was talking about him” Ryan being calm enough to think the situation through. The Doctor wasn’t doing to great and honestly? Neither were you.
“Yes, a man very close to my heart”
“Well in my pocket, actually. Wanna see him? It’s always good to have a backup of ones work”
He held up a matchstick box. His eyes locked to yours again, the demonstration purely for your benefit. Not to frighten you, he knew you’d be curious as to what was going on.
“Tissue compression, it’s a classic”
You finally saw what was in the matchstick box.... it was the original O.
Your mouth dropped as you whimpered slightly at the sight. The Masters eyes softened for a moment, wondering if perhaps he shouldn’t have shown you. He focused on the others for a moment to get you out of his head and thoughts before continuing.
“Ambushed him! On his way to work for his first day, shrunk him, took his identity and set myself up in MI6”
He turned back to the fam and kept you in his sights to see your reaction. You were still shocked and afraid, so he did the only thing he could. The thing you bonded over. He tried to make a joke.
“Surprisingly good staff canteen”
If he wasn’t watching you, he wouldn’t have noticed the quick smile or the breath you took. Another time, that would have you giggling and he knew. But you weren’t as scared as you were a second ago, so it did it’s job. He smiled softly at you closed you mouth and took a breath to calm yourself.
He was going to through the small box to the side to spite the Doctor, but he didn’t want to scare you so he put it back in his pocket and faced the Doctor once more.
“I have had a lot of fun” he started clapping out of enjoyment as the Doctor ran for the cockpit. The Master turned back to the fam and grimaced before a tiny giggle left his mouth. You were about to speak when suddenly
“Where’s Barton?!” Now that got your attention
The Master turned back around as if he’d been caught stealing a cookie. He jumped around acting like he didn’t know where to go until he sat down in a plane seat a few rows in front of you as the others ran past him.
He turned to you, you still looked terrified before, hearing that the plane didn’t have a pilot didn’t help
“So how’s the inflight entertainment?” He smiled softly at you, not the cruel smile he’d been giving out. An encouraging one, perhaps concerned and kind.
“I don’t like the comedy show” you whispered. You were scared. Confused. Still had burning lungs. Worried about the Doctor and others. And on top of that making a joke with a, now know, murderer was not at the top of your priorities.
“Check the seat” he called out after controlling his laughter at your reaction. The fam panicked as he whispered just loud enough for you to hear.
“it’s going to be ok” he knew in his mind it wasn’t. You were going to die. You are a human, he has no need for humans no matter how much he enjoyed your company. You knew it too.
He smirked evily as he glanced at the cockpit.
“Cockpit bomb”
He glanced at you at your gasps of horror. Smoking as he continued.
“Short fuse. I can relate to that”
A knowing smile until he heard the sound of the sonic.
“No! Did you think I wouldn’t have thought of that?’ It’s sonic proof Doctor! Come on!”
“Dead lock sealed and I made sure, no parachutes on board”
You knew you were going to die. You wanted to get to your friends, your fam. But the Master blocked your way.
“There must be a way!”
You doubted it. You were frightened and wanted your friends. You made eye contact with Yaz and Ryan, both held their arms out for you, knowing you needed them. You pushed past the Master into their arms and whimpered a little. You tried to keep it quiet so the doctor couldn’t hear you. You didn’t want her to stress out more than she already was.
Yaz said something to the Master and he replied, but you couldn’t make it out. You were too busy being scared and keeping it quiet. You caught the end of their conversation as the Master said
“...even these guys” you saw the creatures you were investigating. And if you weren’t scared enough?
“I can’t do it! Get away!” The Doctor shouted. She shut and barricaded the door in a feeble attempt to keep the explosion away from you all. The bomb went off and she fell over.
All you could hear was screaming. The fams, the Masters, your own. Your grip on the seat that you had grabbed weakened and you fell. You never hit the ground. In the chaos you could just about notice you had been caught. It was the purple cost that gave their identity away.
“Tell me Y/N, are you mad at me?”
You held onto him, him being the only steady thing you could grab on to at the moment.
“I’ve been mad at you since the Wizard of Oz reference”
He laughed as he held you in his arms. He steadied you in a seat and left towards the Doctor and stood over her.
“One last thing, you should know in the seconds before you die. Everything that you think you know, is a lie”
He turned to face you again.
“Y/N! Do me a favour!”
“What?!”
“Don’t die!”
“That’s kinda the idea here! your not exactly helping!”
“Good little human! I’ll see you soon!”
“If I don’t die in a damn plane crash you twit!”
he laughed before he sobered, turning back to the Doctor
“Got you, finally”
And with that he vanished.
Now we just have to survive the plane crash...
I’m sure the Doc.. Annnnd she just got taken.
Just great.

The Doctor Who season 13 rumors:
A few days ago, rumors appeared surrounding the new season of Doctor Who, season 13, which has started production. This initially made me exited, because I love Doctor Who! I read around and came across some rumors, and although some are great, others... worry me to say the least. Of course, nobody knows how true these are since they are in fact only rumors, but sadly, some just really do seem like things Chibs would write about.
Rumor 1 - The show will tackle the Doctor’s change of gender head on, and will apologize for past mistakes the doctor made when male                   I’m going to start by saying that I love Jodie Whittaker as the thirteenth doctor, and I think she is an amazing actor and her character is brilliant. Is the doctor being a woman significant? Yes, of course. Is it important? Arguably no. The doctor is a Time Lord. It has already been established their gender can change - they aren’t human! They can regenerate! Their gender should not be a huge fixation! I’m not saying it should be completely forgotten, but maybe it should be handled in the way that Missy was? For the idea of the doctor apologizing for past mistakes made when male... well, on one hand, I’m fearful since we’ve already seen Chibbers try to unravel Doctor Who canon and history in The Timeless Child. When Twelve told One off for saying he was going to spank Bill, that was more of a joke, and showed how times had changed and progressed since One was the doctor. This worked well. If Chibby does something like this, then fine. If he instead makes a whole story arc about how the doctor as a man was evil and generally uses a “men bad” narrative, then that's a problem.
Rumor 2 - The thirteenth doctor will be bisexual                                                To be fair, I don’t have much to say about this one. I’m happy about it, and it makes sense since most, if not all the doctor’s previous loves have been female, except the master. All in all this makes sense. The one thing i was less keen on was this rumor also said that this would be explored by a guest star coming on to the show. I have no idea what this means, but may suggest that Thasmin will not be made canon. On the other hand, this could perhaps mean River will return??!!
Rumor 3 - The TARDIS exterior will change due to world events                                    apparently the Tardis exterior will change due to the public’s current perception of the police. One article I saw included a photo of the TARDIS being painted a sort of burgandy colour, which could be a mid-tone for the TARDIS being painted red like a phone box? I think this will cause mass unhappiness or even anger with the fans, and if Chibnall hasn’t foreseen this and found a way to make this make sense then he’s in for a surprise. The TARDIS is iconic. It’s a symbol. Yaz also works for the police, how will they deal with that? Will Yaz quit the police?? I have no idea what Chibz is thinking here, but I just hope the writing is good this season. I really hope for it. I want to love this season, because thirteen DESERVES good writing. She is amazing! It will be an enormous tragedy if the doctor regenerates before Thirteen gets good writing

Panic. Screaming. Wind. Noise. Fear. Tense breathing. More screaming. More panic.
“Hold on!” Graham shouted over the monstrous amount of noise. Ryan found a panel and somehow managed to fly the plane on his phone. You were too shaken to understand. O. The plane was finally level. The Master.  You were shaking. Nothing really sunk in. You blinked and you were helped off the plane by the worried trio. You snuck past the guards as Barton spoke to someone official looking. You were in Essex according to Ryan, and now that you were off the plane things had finally begun to fall into place within your mind. You were being stared at by everyone.
“It’s hard not to stand out, when we look like this,” Ryan groaned frustrated at the suit
“We’ve just been on a night out and we’re going home, that’s all,” Yaz reassured a soothing voice trying to calm you all down. Your phone went off, as did the others. Cautiously you answered it. Barton. “Hello, friends. What, did you think I wouldn't be able to track you? We have your numbers, e-mails, GPS. I even know how many more stamps you need for a free coffee. So close, Ryan. Or should I say Logan? Look up.” You did as he said. On a screen above you all your faces were displayed, claiming you were dangerous. More cursing. “Your passports have been revoked, bank accounts frozen,” Barton continued “We have a record of everyone you know - friends, family, colleagues, everyone you ever followed on social media. Of course, we have cameras everywhere, and now you're wanted for hijacking. Go off the grid see how long you’ll last,”
In a panic, Ryan smashed his phone, Yaz attempted to call her mum and Graham froze. “Oh and Yazmin is attempting to call her mum, how sweet,” He spat sarcastically. Yaz had rambled into the phone briefly for a second before Ryan grabbed the phone and stomped on it, he did the same with your phone and Graham’s. Then you ran.
You had finally settled on a building estate, hours late. Bones aching, out of breath and tired.
“No CCTV we should be safe for now,” Graham said, clearly weary from the day. You filled into a half built house. You took a seat on a sort of wall as did the others
“How do we know we can trust you?” Ryan asked suddenly “We don’t know you. The Doctor trusted O, and he betrayed us, how do we know you won’t?”
“You don’t.” You replied shortly “I’m an outsider. You’ve seen me what? Twice before today? Three times because one of them hasn’t happened to me yet. You don’t know you can trust me. But you have to. If I wanted to turn on you, if I had malicious intent I would have ran off with the master, but I didn’t.”
“Who are you really? O said you were a missing person,” Yaz asked inner police woman jumping forward
“I am. Technically. I was recruited by people I know very little about to do a job, told me it was important so I took the role. Wiped me from my old life, gave me a new one,” “How come the Doctor didn’t recognise that person? Surely you would recognise someone like that?”
“Their species, they have a way of cheating death, burn up every cell in their body, change their face and who they are. The Doctor used to be a man, we have 12 other faces on file. The master also can do that, same species same thing,”
“Who was he?”
“Well, do you remember Harold Saxon? That used to be him,”
“What- I voted for him!” Graham exclaimed
You examined the looks on their faces, “You want to know about my future don’t you, you want to put the pieces together, but she’s said you can’t tell me. One question won’t kill me,”
“You mentioned you were going to die on another planet? How would you know something like that?” Yaz wondered
“This, this interaction. Time isn’t linear. It’s more a big lump, as time travellers, we jump in and out at various points, things aren’t linear things can be changed and rewritten. Surely she told you that?”
“She doesn’t exactly tell us a lot. Who are you to her really?”
“I’m no one important, I think, I don’t know. I get pieces in passing. A bit like a conversation you aren’t a part of yet, just occasional whispers. Her late wife visited me once, and told me to keep track of everything. Keep journals and notes, telling me it would help make things easier, clearer. She was in a similar position, they met when she died and they kept meeting, bumping into each other, in the wrong order, fell in love, nearly destroyed the universe,”  You explained “The doctor trusts me and I trust the doctor. Good enough for me. Also we went on a date,”
“Since we’re admitting things, I stole some of the gadgets from MI6, I’m wearing the laser shoes. Before you ask, no I didn’t read the instructions,” Graham laughed
“I took the rocket cufflinks too,” Ryan smiled
“You utter doughnuts, all of you. But there’s no one I’d rather be on the run with,” Graham turned to you “Even you, you seem to know a lot and I trust you. You’re on the same wavelength as the Doctor and that’s good enough for me.”
“Did you hear that?” There was a noise, and light. Kasaavin. You stepped out the building one by one.
“The shoe, use the shoe,” Ryan urged
“What?”
“Just stomp or something!” Graham did. A bolt hit a nearby streetlight.
“Your aim is terrible,”
“Graham, just dance.” He did and a few bolts hit the figures. You grabbed the others hands and ran.
The sun was coming up, you hadn’t slept for about 36 hours and whilst Yaz made a phone call, you and Ryan leant against each other in a desperate attempt to stay awake. She hung up suddenly as a car pulled up. Men stepped out, threatening you. Graham came up behind them and waved his laser shoe dramatically
“-and don’t make me do the soft-shoe shuffle!” He stated over dramatically, as you got into the car. You had decided to drive
“Are you sure you’re going to be safe? Driving, I mean, 36 hours is a lot-” Yaz began cautiously
“I’ll be fine. I once stayed a awake for a week on some planet so I could do my job, and the days were 25 hours, this is nothing,” You joked
“Can we go to the institute? Surely they’ll keep us safe?”
“No, they won’t. Anything linked to present day criminal activity immediately gets you dropped. We deal with time, you so much as breathe wrong you’re dropped,” You explained, “We have to follow their GPS.” You sped off
The hanger was cold and empty. There was a single figure on a chair along with a stand and a screen, you rushed to it.
“Is she still?” Ryan asked, not wanting to say the word. You checked for a pulse, she was cold. You shook your head, “No she isn’t. She hasn’t been for a while, a few hours, at most, I think.”  Barton appeared on the screen.
“Well done overpowering my people. But did you really think they wouldn't tell me? I have a significant announcement to make, and you, my friends, are two steps behind. As usual,” He mocked
“So what are you? Part alien or something?” Graham asked
“You really don't understand who I am. I build things. I test them. So I let them test a tiny part of me. And now it's time for the global roll-out. I'm proof of concept,”
“As the head of the Bad Wolf institute, I have to ask, what are you testing? Why don’t you stop with the theatrics and murder? Make my job the tiniest bit easier,” You asked, temper flaring
“Look after my mum.” The call ended. You went to hit the screen and decided against instead choosing to make a loud noise.
“He killed his own mum,” Yaz breathed
“And abandoned her, in a hanger, to rot,” You stated, formal tone back. The screen came on once again, this time to an image of Barton giving a talk.
“-We told you, of course your lives are private, of course your data's safe. And you believed us. You kept clicking Agree. And now, we can do anything. I can send a text to every device on this planet.”
“Something doesn’t make sense, I’m missing something, I’m being stupid. God why does lack of sleep does this,” You grumbled. A message flashed up on the screen. Humanity is over, you have three minutes to prepare. The statue started spinning.
“Funny, right? Except, not a joke. We are way past peak human. We've created systems that are smarter and can run more efficiently than we do. So what's our purpose? We must be useful for something. Well, the data tells us we are. We can repurpose. Well, you all can. You know the most efficient type of hard drives on Planet Earth? Humans. Human DNA can store so much data. We're the perfect storage system, which means there are over seven billion potentially incredibly useful hard drives on this planet. All that's needed is to reformat the whole of humanity. Luckily, there's an app for that.” Barton chuckled, tone sinister.
The room was filled with light. The Kasaavin. The hangar door swung open. The master.
“Move away. Now! I've just had the most infuriating seventy seven years of my life. Have you any idea how hard it is to live through the 20th century? The places I've escaped from. Still, just in time to watch you all pay.” He grumbled, he looked aggressive like a wolf ready to attack.
“What is it? What the hell is that thing?” You asked, barely giving the others time to react
“Back with us I see? Aw shock was good look on you, shame the Doctor won’t get to see more of it,” He snarled “ If you must know, dear, it converts and transmits. We're transmitting Kasaavin energy around the world all at once into every device, hitting every human being and erasing all their DNA simultaneously. And it’s beautiful.” The energy grabbed Yaz, she couldn’t let go, you tried to pull her off, it wouldn’t move, she couldn’t budge.
“No use. It’ll take her, then you then you, and finally Miss Institute herself, a shame.” The machine stopped suddenly, the figures vanished.
“You were saying?” You replied smugly
“Sorry. I’ll admit I was close,” The doctor. Relief washed over you. She entered the hangar followed by two other women.
“Two can play at embedding things in history. I knew the Silver Lady was important, and that you built it for a reason, but I couldn't work out why. So I traced its movements through history. And when I saw that Barton now owned it, we stopped by his office. Middle of last year, using your Tardis, I built a fail-safe into that machine. Planted a virus. If it ever detected the massing of a Kasaavin army within its systems - total shutdown,” She explained. The room glowed again, circling everyone.
“Well Doctor, looks like you’re going to have to explain everything to them,”
“Look, I’ve rigged the Silver lady to send you back your own dimension. And that deal he made with you?” She pulled out her sonic and played a audio clip
‘Barton and these creatures do the dirty work, and once they're done, I get rid of them, having destroyed your precious human race in the process. Win-win-win.’
“Oh,” Was all the Master could manage to say
“Yes that’s your name, don’t wear it out,” She replied before the light increased. And with that the room was empty again, “Everyone alright? Everyone safe?” A chorus of yes sounded of from the group
“Miss me?” She asked a small but beautiful smile on her face, wrapping her arm around you
“Always,” You replied pressing a small kiss to her lip
“I hate to break up a sweet moment but I have questions. Who are they? And are we being replaced?” Graham asked
“Oh these are Noor and Ada, I’m dropping them off back in their timeline, like I could ever replace any of you.”
They were dropped off back in their respective times.
“So where to now?” The doctor asked, flipping a few switches
“The institute for me, I’m afraid,” You cringed, desperately wanting to stay
“What?” She suddenly looked up staring deep into your eyes, clearly hurt.
“I have to warm them, the Master is out there, and we have to prepare. We’ve barely managed to fix everything after the issues in 2015. I do want to stay, I truly do, but it’s hard and I have to look after them,” You avoided her eyes
“It’s ok I get it. Since we’re synced I can say this, whenever we meet up synced or not we have to go on a date, because we don’t know when it’s going to happen so we might as well enjoy it,” She wandered over to where you were stood
“Like time girlfriends?” “Time girlfriends,” She nodded. You kissed her cheek, and she smiled into it, hugging you tightly.
“Miss you already,” You joked taking steps out of the TARDIS and back into your office the day that you left.
“Are you ok? You’ve been a bit distant recently,” Yaz asked, breaking the Doctor from her thoughts. It had been a few months, since they’d seen you as a group.
“I’m fine,” She replied shortly
“You miss her don’t you?” The doctor ignored the question continuing to focus on the random buttons she was fiddling with. “Look, why don’t you take us to visit your home?”
“Can’t. Shouldn’t. You’ll ask too many questions. It’s boring. Why do you think I ran?” She explained, her usual answers combining into one, “but yes I miss her,”

I know you - 13th Doctor
Summary: Before Yaz, Ryan or Graham confronted her, Y/N was there first.
Pairing: 13th Doctor x fem!reader
Warnings: ANGST, but also comfort
A/N: Quarantine really making me bored
Tumblr media
Y/N was one of her longest companions. She had been there since The Doctor was a child-like, energetic man whose eyebrows were almost nonexistent. She had been there when they met Amy for the first and the last time. She had been there when she had regenerated into a grumpy and white-haired Scotsman. She knew the stories of Martha and Rose and Donna. What they did, what they sacrificed so the earth could be saved. She knew about Gallifrey, she knew it was saved. Y/N had been there to see it when they closed it into its own small, time bubble.
She had been with The Doctor for so long she knew how she acted in different situations. How she would talk if she was getting irritated or provoked. How her hands would slightly twitch when her friends were insulted or threatened. Y/N had seen the clam rage in her friend’s eyes countless times, how’d she look almost like a predator but eventually (and always) taking the high road. She didn’t get scared of her antics anymore, even though The Doctor liked to beg to differ. She was the oncoming storm, the nightmare of Daleks and Cybermen. Everyone feared her at least once in their lives. That’s how it always went. Because in the end, The Doctor was no hero.
But it just seemed, that whatever she did. Whatever she said Y/N would not budge from her side. She was always there like a piece of gum stuck to your hair. She didn’t leave after finding out about Gallifrey, the screams The Doctor had caused. No, Y/N had done the exact opposite in fact. She had hugged her, told her it was alright. That’s why The Doctor needed her by her side. Like all the companions, she kept her grounded. Reminded her of her morals, reminded her why she loved the Earth so much. Y/N made her a better being, even if her previous incarnation never admitted it.
Two years with new friends had gone by like in the speed of light. Yasmin, Ryan, and Graham were fun and Y/N loved having once more people closer to her age on board. They had a genuinely good time, and she even began to think their scars from Bill had begun to close.
That was until they were faced with the Master once again.
This time Y/N couldn’t hold in the string of cuss words and murmured them under her breath, earning a rather pointed look from the Doctor. She helped Ryan, Yasmin, and Graham to get to safety, assuring them they could leave her to deal with everything.
“Ain’t happening kid,” Graham had been quick to disagree.
“Yeah, we’re family now. We’re not leaving you or The Doctor alone,” Yasmin had backed him up.
So they fought The Master off as a team, stopping yet another one of his evil plans to take over the world before it could happen. The three of them, still a bit confused about the mix up between O and The Master, tired to ask The Doctor what was going on with him. While The Doctor plainly ignored them, distracting them with her never-ending talking, Y/N told them to wait and let The Doctor tell them when she was ready. Yasmin had been the hardest to convince, Y/N knew she was just worried about The Doctor but she still did her best to assure her everything would be alright.
“She just needs a little time,” She had smiled slightly at the unintentional joke. To be honest, Y/N knew The Doctor would need a little more time than just ‘little’. Meeting The Master had clearly thrown her dear partner haywire, and at first, even Y/N didn’t know just how badly The Doctor had taken it.
At first, she thought it was seeing her old friend, now an enemy in her good friend’s body that made The Doctor snappy and distant. But when her mardy mood began to stain their adventures and The doctor started to genuinely be fed up with anyone’s questions, Y/N knew something else was up.
She started to tread the waters carefully, asking her if she was fine when everyone else had gone to sleep. Casually offering the Doctor to talk with her if she needed to, Y/N had told her even tho she was over 1000 year old alien even she needed to talk sometime. It had ended with The Doctor almost ushering Y/N out of the control room, saying she had to concentrate on the landing. Y/N knew they weren’t flying in the first place.
Those things being said, Y/N was absolutely furious with the Doctor right now.
Well, worried but also furious. She had known The Doctor for so long. They had shared so many laughs and cries but still, Y/N felt like it meant more to her than to The Doctor right now.
What had gotten Y/N to walk around the Tardis to find the alien were the actions in their last adventure. They had split up to find clues on who could have murdered the king and why and once she and Yaz had found something she had snapped at them for losing the proof. In reality, the clue had been stolen or removed. Anyway, the wall graffiti that held a close meaning to the king had been destroyed while Y/N and Yasmin had gone back to get the others.
“What did it look like?” The Doctor had asked after they had stared at the empty wall for several minutes. Yasmin blinked, trying to imagine the picture, but it was too complex, too many lines and symbols to remember.
“I... it looked something like a lion. I’m not quite sure,” Y/N cut in, remembering the animal in the midst of the colors. The Doctor, like everyone else, was already on edge. If they didn’t find out the killer, they’d kill the princess. She had looked at Y/N, with abnormally dark eyes.
“I’m not sure isn't enough right now! There are lives on the line Y/N,” She had exclaimed. “Were there colors? Symbols? Anything? ”
Y/N had reassured Yaz she was fine after they had saved the kingdom and were walking back to the Tardis. In reality, Y/N was pissed The Doctor didn’t even acknowledge her outburst in any way. Happily moving on with her life, she had offered to stop by Earth to “refill the tank” so to speak.
So now Y/N was standing by the panel, The Doctor was flipping different switches and buttons to keep her mind busy. It was only after the third time /N had cleared her throat when The Doctor even glanced at her direction. Her eyes were red on the edges.
“Y/N didn’t see you there,” Her response could have been interpreted as happy had it not been for her volume. Her sentence was almost only a murmur under her breath.
Y/N pursed her lips, smiling slightly to ease the tension. “Doctor, can I be frank with you?” She asked carefully. The Doctor turned a knob and flipped yet another switch.
“Always, you know that,” She said, but still didn’t completely direct her attention to the woman. Y/N cleared her throat and decided it would be easier to just drop the bomb rather than to try and place it down gently. As that hadn’t worked out before.
“What’s wrong Doctor? You’ve been a little... distant lately?” Y/N tired to make her voice sound as nonjudgemental and comforting as she could. The Doctor stopped in her tracks for a moment before continuing to work on the panel.
“’ S nothing,” She said, sending a tight smile to Y/N. Usually, if Y/N was tired of going on and on with this same conversation that smile would have been enough to give up and leave. But not this time.
Y/N inhaled heavily, trying not to let the irritation make her say things she didn’t mean.
“I know it’s not nothing,” She pressed on and walked a little closer to The Doctor. “There’s something going on, I’ve been with you long enough to see it,” Y/N ended her sentence with a small, dry chuckle. “C’mon Doctor, what is it?”
“I said it’s nothing didn’t I?” The Doctor’s voice slightly raised by the end, she exhaled heavily. They both went silent, The Doctor was once again moving the switches, her foot went to the custard cream dispenser but she seemed to be in too bad of a mood to have a biscuit.
“You just wouldn’t understand, okay? So don’t bother your mind with it,” She eventually said, calmer and collected this time. Y/N scoffed silently shaking her head.
“No, don’t even try doing that?”
“Doing what?”
“Belittling me,” Y/N explained. “I’ve been here with you for a long time Doctor. Out of anyone else on this ship right now, I would be the one who could understand you the best.”
This time it was The Doctor who scoffed. She looked up at the ceiling, leaning to the panel with her slender arms. Y/N clenched her jaw a little, anticipating the final straw to break the camels back. It was always the same when fighting with the Doctor, she was older than her. She’d always have the last word, and it would always in someway imply to the fact she knew better. And even though most of the times she did know better (she was the one who had traveled over hundreds and hundreds of years) Y/N was sure this time was not one of those.
“We’ve had this conversation already. You’re human, you cannot understand what’s going on inside here,” The Doctor motioned at her head. “You just cannot know what it feels- You just don’t, so please, now drop the subject.”
There it was.
Y/N exhaled and rolled her lips together. Sure her brain was yelling for her to leave, but her body was stuck to the ground. Her heart screamed at her to make The Doctor see she wasn’t alone.
“No, no I’m not leaving until you speak,” Y/N said, much more stern this time. She leaned to the panel, on the opposite side of where The doctor was now staring at her. With undivided attention.
“All the other times yes, I would. But this is going way too far,” Y/N continued. “First you distant yourself from all of us, then you began to snap at me and Yaz when we are just trying to help you. Tell me, Doctor, please let me help you,” She was almost pleading. The Doctor’s mouth was in a straight line, the small crease a bit more visible between her brows. Y/N saw the oncoming storm brewing in her eyes but was only merely phased by it.
“You want to help me?”
“Yes,” Y/N immediately answered.
“How are you thinking about doing that?” The Doctor asked, almost sneering at her. “How do you think you can help me? I was serious I said this team is not flat, you out of all should know that. No matter how much you claim to know me, it doesn't change the fact that I’m up and alone. How do you exactly plan to even begin to phanthom-”
“By making you talk,” Y/N rudely cut her off before even thinking. She quickly closed her mouth, both of them surprised at her outburst.
“By making you understand that you can open up,” She added, softly. The Doctor held in an eye roll and looked down at the panel. The Tardis had gone quiet long before their argument had begun.
“I don’t need that.”
“Yes, you do! Why are you being so stubborn about this?” A bitter laugh left Y/N’s mouth.
“Because for once, this is a thing you cannot help me with!”
“How can you know that?”
“Well for starters-”
“What’s this?” Y/N suddenly crouched down, holding a circular, shiny object in her hand she found fro under the panel by her foot. She looked at The Doctor, uncertainty in her eyes while The Doctor reached about her hand.
“Give it to me,” She commanded, her voice neutral. Y/N squinted her eyes at her sudden change of demeanor and shook her head.
“Not before you tell me what this is.”
“Y/N, I’m not playing around, give it to me,” The Doctor stressed each of her words. “Please.”
Y/N looked at her, not quite sure how to react. Here they were, talking to each other over the panel, both of them on the verge of tears when only minutes ago they had been almost screaming their lungs out. Something about this object, which reminded Y/n a lot like a recorder had made The Doctor land from the lone mountain she claimed to be on.
“Is this it?” Y/N asked quietly, walking towards The Doctor. “Is this why you’re so hurt?”
The Doctor wasn’t sure whether it was her genuine caring expression or the fact she was still standing there, after all the things she had said that made her nod to Y/N’s question. She was strong, very strong and tough, but Y/N’s stubbornness and determination to help overrode those traits. The Doctor licked her lips anxiously, feeling her lower lip quiver slightly. As soon as this happened Y/N had wrapped her arms around her and placed the recorded on the panel.
The Doctor squeezed her as tightly as he could. She had missed her hugs, before O, before The Master, before Gallifrey, hugs had been an everyday thing for her and Y/N. Then they had suddenly disappeared with her bubbly, energetic aura.
“He killed them,” She whispered, a couple of tears which had been burning the back of her eyes for a while now rolled down her face. They made a couple of dark spots on Y/N’s t-shirt. “He killed them all. Destroyed everything.”
Y/N pulled back and cradled the Doctor’s face, with her eyebrows furrowed together and eyes glassy. Her hands were warm and soft against The Doctor’s cheeks.
“We’ll be alright,” She said, rolling her lips together, wiping the tears from The Doctor’s face. “I know you. You’re so strong. You can get through this. We can get through this. Okay?”
The Doctor looked at her while another set of tears left her eyes. She tasted the salt against her lips before it was replaced by a gentle, sweet kiss. The Doctor was a long way from healing but she knew if she had Y/N by her side, she could get through anything.

Very jumbled, mixed thoughts about Spyfall part 1 and 2 under the Read More.
Ok so first I’m writing this because I’m kinda hyped for this series but I’m also very very scared.
This is an extremely flawed opening that also takes a lot of risks and I tend to respect that more than good but bland stories, and it also made me want to talk about it, whereas my reaction to S11, apart from Demons of the Punjab and It Takes You Away, was basically “eh this is nice” followed by a shrug
Don’t get me wrong I love the fact that Thirteen exists but her character in S11 was a bit of an enigma for me, and now she has started to wander down some dark, dark paths
What I wanted from S12 was “more material for Yaz”, “an arc”, and “understand Thirteen as a character”. We certainly have an arc, so hurray for that. Yaz has more things to do but I want to see more. And Thirteen... more on that later
Ok so Spyfall
The idea of aliens that are technically portals is great. Their plan of conquest was meh and the resolution was underwhelming.
The tuxedos and the gadgets and stuff were great. Wanted to see more gadgets but eh. Thirteen in a tux on a bike was a wonderful sight. The scenes with the main companions were good.
Loved to see Ada Lovelace. And Noor Inayat Khan, who I knew nothing about, and I do have thoughts about her presence but more on that later.
And the Master is back.
Boy do I have thoughts about that too.
Ok so the actor is doing an amazing job and I loved when he was undercover and not particularly subtle about it and it still worked. Love that he has a TARDIS again, and the TCE. Wonderful stuff.
I have mixed thoughts about how aggressive he seems to be, yelling, killing people like it’s nothing, asking Thirteen to kneel and nearly choking her. On one hand he did way worse things to some older incarnations, and I certainly wouldn’t want to see the Master starting to see the Doctor as some sort of fragile thing now that the character is played by a woman. That would be pretty awful. On the other hand, we now have, in practice, a Master played by a man of color being very aggressive towards a Doctor played by a white woman and that has also some pretty awful connotations. I’m not even sure how that can be solved. I don’t even know how I’d handle it. I don’t know. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, that’s all.
I actually don’t mind the fact Missy’s character development has seemingly disappeared (wait and see). First, it’s not like it’s something new in the show ; I mean the Doctor’s incarnations contradict themselves all the time. Six’s whole thing was how he was learning to become more gentle and caring and then Seven becomes this master manipulator who tends to use his friends like assets.
Second, I’m not even sure this new Master has reverted to the status quo of “haha look how evil I am”. He certainly tries to but. like. Everytime he’s not threatening or killing people or talking about his evil plans, he looks really, really unsure of himself. In at least two scenes, he seems to be this close to bursting into tears (especially when Thirteen says his name and in his message about Gallifrey). Is he even enjoying being evil anymore? Doesn’t seem like he is. He’s doing some horrible shit in this story but it looks almost performative. Like when Missy killed a couple of UNIT people to prove to Clara she wasn’t “nice”.
He didn’t boast about destroying Gallifrey, either.
Heck, he couldn’t even say that to Thirteen’s face. He used a recording to say it. He didn’t even mention it before trying to kill her on the plane.
Speaking of which, I’m not mad Gallifrey has been destroyed again. Happens all the time in the extended universe anyway.
Very curious about this whole “lie” thing.
And now I have to talk about Thirteen
Where do I even f█cking start
Ok so. Either it’s written without much care or it’s written to send the character on a very sinister path, but I was baffled by some things Thirteen did in that story.
We already saw her do some debatable things in S11, especially at the end of Kerblam!. Which made me dislike that episode immensely, because I thought it was out of character for the Doctor to care that little about people being exploited and basically enslaved.
But maybe it was in character for Thirteen.
I mean we now have a Doctor who allies herself to two incredible women from history, basically uses them as assets, then erases their memories without permission and doesn’t even save the one who’s gonna die later?? Hello? Why even bring a real person into the plot if you’re not gonna treat her story with care? An imaginary spy would have been better, that’s just disrespectful
And then there’s Thirteen saying the Master using the Nazis to find her is “a new low even for him” even though she does the exact same thing to escape later and weaponises them to use them against him? It was one thing to make this fake message outing him as a spy, that part was actually clever, but removing his disguise to prove he’s a man of color in front of a bunch of armed racists?? And then leaving him stranded there?? Excuse me? Thirteen what the f█ck? Hello? Isn’t that a vile thing to do? Come back here immediately and explain yourself??
So yeah
I mean, I’m not against a main character doing really terrible things as long as it’s framed as bad. But this wasn’t. It was framed as a “HA take THAT” moment
Is anyone going to talk about that or are we just going to ignore it
idk it just left an awful taste in my mouth
Thirteen I don’t know what you’re doing but you’re walking on a very dark path and I’m not sure I want to follow you
TLDR: flawed story, characters doing extremely debatable things, intriguing arc. I’m really scared about the future but I still want to know what comes next. Bring it on

Doctor Who: The Jodie Review
(Long post)
(Sorry)
Introduction
I decided, still being locked down, to watch some Doctor Who.
Hadn’t watched it in a while, told myself I’d always catch up when I had the time, and the universe decided to give me a lot of it.
I had stopped watching Matt quite some time ago, but caught up about 4 years ago to Capaldi’s first season. I had meant to carry on with it but slow-going times and I forgot and all the other jazz that fills in the space between not doing things.
But I thought I’d storm through them and get them over with. I had heard bad things going onwards, but hey, I’m one of those sad losers that LIKE Love and Monsters. It’s not great but I thought what it did well, it did great.
So, off I went to finally catch up on a show that formulated so much of my younger self, my love for time-travel, interesting sci-fi that ended up getting me into the genre, and a love for character interactions and lore.
I went through Capaldi, and his last two seasons, yeah, they had an odd episode here and there, Sleep No More is a disaster, but I carried on through. I’m a trooper, I got through Fear Her after all.
Tumblr media
But I fell in love with the Doctor again. Heaven Sent is easily the best DW has offered so far, the character building with him and Clara and Bill and hell, Nardole, are superb. The stories were interesting, the Doctor was great and evolved, and the companions were the perfect fit for Capaldi.
And then, after a brilliant goodbye, he was gone.
“Be kind.“
And here we go, we’re with Jodie, she’s northern, she’s confused, and she’s in need of some pockets, falling through the sky, yeah, 200 degrees that’s why they call her missus fahrenheit-
Tumblr media
Not Jodie, but Chibnall
I’m not going to drag this out too far, I ain’t gonna make you read this for ages just to see if I like it. If you don’t want to see me complain about two seasons, this is your point to head out.
I think these are the lowest series of Modern Doctor Who.
But like the title says, it’s not Jodie’s fault. She’s an amazing actress, and she plays the part well. Hell, so does Bradley, Tosin and Mandip. Each one of them is a good actor and when the scene calls for them, they pull it off well.
The issue here is the writing.
And I feel I should go through why I think that.
But first, I think I should point out the good.
The Good: On historical topics and representation
This is the most diverse Doctor Who has been in a while. It was pretty diverse before mind you, let’s not forget the Doctor seems a bit flexible, the companions have been a mix of sexualities, gender, age and race, and each one of them is loved by many. Hell, Jack Harkness was so popular he got his own tv show.
But Thirteenth has gone and made sure that there was more.
Tumblr media
Characters just pointing out they’re gay and it’s just a matter of fact. It’s a statement, not an argument, not being out there or subvertive, it just is. People are more than fine with this.
I’m surprised Graham the bus driver is so accepting of everyone at the start, but it speaks testament to his character. He fell in love with Grace, he raised a son with a disability, he stands up for those that dare have a go at any of that. Graham didn’t have to grow to learn this in the Tardis, he was accepting from the get-go.
Well, there’s some conflict about Ryan blaming things on Dyspraxia in the first episode but it comes out of a place of fear of their lives. But any tensions between them are resolved quite well, to the point they can count on each other.
Either way, representation is important and Jodie’s season has it in spades.
As for historical topics, the Doctor tackles them quite well. Honestly, the episodes in the past are her strong suit. And as she’s a woman now, she has a new battle against her. History wasn’t always kind, and the gag of them addressing Graham each time is a genuinely good idea.
Also, Rosa had the opportunity to be butchered. It could have been written badly, it could have been handled with hardly any care, but it was the standout episode of the season. Each character gets some good lines, the gang has to face moral decisions and it’s a genuinely good look into a past that America would sometimes like to forget.
As an aside, I think Bill, even as one character, explored the sexuality thing more and the diversity she faced from it, I think thirteenth doesn’t do a bad job. I liked the astronauts as shown above quite a bit to be fair.
Graham
Tumblr media
The standout star of the show.
This will be unfortunately brought up in my negatives for the show too, but this is the good side.
Graham’s lost his wife, he has to connect to her grandson, his cancer is a constant worry in his head and he comes with the Doctor in an attempt to escape/confront all three.
He is the one who evolves the most as a character in the first season, coming to terms with the death of Grace is something he battles with throughout, he still blames himself. For whatever reason, even in the Rosa Parks episode, he gets the most emotional writing. Ryan and Yaz do get good writing in the same episode mind you, (which is unfortunately one of the few times Yaz does) but it’s heartbreaking to see Graham realise what he has to do.
The Acting
I unfortunately have to put Ryan, Yaz and the Doctor here in one group category. and I hate to do that, but I feel it’d be a disservice not to mention them.
Their actors can act well. When the script calls for it, they do amazing work.
The scene where Jodie is angry and confused at the other Doctor, where Ryan is actually there to support his friend, when Yaz is comforting Ryan about America, where Jodie is fucking pissed at the Master, all good scenes.
But this is a perfect segway into -
The Bad: Asides the retcon
Holy shit where do I start.
I mean, we’ve got the good out of the way, so you know where I stand on the issues a bunch of people wrong accused the show of being. A female doctor is more than fine, the diverse cast is great, the topics of exploring the past is done good.
And I’m not going into the retcon just yet, I feel like going ITS BAD BECAUSE OF THIS ignores so much of the problems to be had
But let’s start with
The Doctor
Tumblr media
This should have been her outfit just saying
I find the best way of describing most of this doctors run so far is...
Imagine, if you will, that you need to write a Doctor Who book. They’ve given you a plot to go with, but they haven’t told you which Doctor it’s for. But tight schedules and they still haven’t told you, so you write up a draft. A template. But you leave the Doctor’s text ambiguous. A template for a Doctor. With some work, you could make it the 12th, the 5th, the 1st, once you add mannerisms and how the doctor would react personally in a situation. So you write in this template Doctor and go to sleep. But you wake up and your assistant has only gone and submitted it.
The Doctor is kinder than any other iteration of her Doctor, but that’s it. I get why the natural progression from Capaldi, and Jodie sells a nice Doctor superbly, but ...
There’s nothing really there to distinguish her as her own Doctor. She’s nice, a bit confused, LOVES things and calls people fam.
But like, that’s it. Where the 9th had coldness, 10 had eccentric, 11 had old man and 12 was furious, Jodie has... nice. But a Doctor needs an edge.
She’s quiet about her home life and she doesn’t really talk much to her companions about it, but like, that’s understandable, she doesn’t really talk one on one to them or even much about their home lives.
She doesn’t get an arc until Spyfall, and even then it’s largely just turned into “She’s well moody”, and apparently well moody is just being kinda quiet. Jodie says it right when she shouts at them in one scene “You don’t know me!”
And she’s right, but then the companions trust her with everything and they’re part of a FAM and super close but they don’t really talk with each other. Jodie doesn’t have these quiet talks like the other Doctors would have with the companions, it’s just... not there.
And because it’s not there we’re supposed to believe they think of themselves as a tightly knit group but also very apart as characters. And the companions, to their credit, try and confront her on it, but the conflict is over so quick as to not be there at all.
Yaz and Ryan
Tumblr media
This is the best scene of them in, and one of the rare times Yaz makes an impact on a story which isn’t just supporting the Doctor
What they did to these two actors is cruel.
Ryan at least gets to join in on Grahams arc, because it is Grahams arc, not Ryans, really. There’s a plot about his Dad that’s done quite well, so that’s why Ryan doesn’t suffer the same poor fate as Yaz does.
Yaz has absolutely no agency. She wants to be a successful Policewoman but it’s not really much addressed outside of the first episode and the dream episode (which admittedly, is a good episode and explores each character). She gets told by everyone she’s the heart of the team and super brave and like, she hasn’t got an arc, she pretty much blindly follows the Doctor, she has no reason to be there much other than her family’s a bit annoying.
Her actress plays the scenes well, and there’s some touching moments with her in Rosa and the dream episode about how she is the way she is, why she does the things she does. But 2 episodes out of 20 isn’t enough.
Ryan gets a couple of good episodes, a touching one especially comes with horrors of the future and not being there for his friends plaguing his mind, and he manages to get help for his depressed friend, which is touching.
But the two episodes? That’s kind of it.
Ryan gets a nice Dalek episode though.
Orphan 55
The worst episode in Doctor Who. Took any good faith from Spyfall and plonked S12 in bottom tier before we even got to the retcon.
If I talked about everything it did wrong here this would go on too long.
It was just the worst 45 minutes of DW
At least Sleep No More was just boring.
Character Arcs, What Are They
Graham’s arms give out in season 1 for carrying the team.
The Doctor against Tim Shaw is laughable, there’s no conflict past killing a couple of people, so Graham has to have that moral dilemma instead, Ryan manages to respect him and call him gramps, but that’s more Grahams arc than Ryans. Yaz has nothing, the Doctor learns nothing.
But series 2, the Doctor’s given an arc, which is something, considering that before this it was a throwaway line about Timeless Child from a piece of cloth.
Gallifrey is gone again, the insurance rates at this point are through the roof on this planet, she’s been told the Master did it for learning a terrible truth. But she of course doesn’t explore the ruins until she has to, but ah well, we can live with that, that’s fine in Doctor Who. I’m not even being sarcastic, the Doctor through all iterations isn’t very clever.
It gives her a bit of a mood that’s not really explored too much past that, but then we’re given Jo Martin as The Other Doctor
Tumblr media
My opinions on throwing in Doctors from the past aside, (I love you John Hurt but damnit), Jo plays a competent Doctor, and her attitude clashes so well with Jodie that both actresses get to act well in good written scenes.
But then she’s just very confused until Gallifrey rolls around again.
We’ll ignore the retcon, again, but once she learns she gets super fucking pissed. And for good reason. Against the Master, against the Time Lords, against everyone, she’s shouting at everything, lost in her life.
But it’s sorted out very quickly by Jo intervention and then she’s much the same as ever.
Well, I say that, what I mean is “Willing to burn and kill all life on Gallifrey” with a button press. Yeah I know that the Time Lords are dead and the Master is about to kill everyone but you wouldn’t let a Spider be shot through mercy killing and you expect me to jump to “Would absolutely murder the Master and desecrate the bodies of the Time Lords”
It doesn’t matter anyway, for she has not the will to do so.
But she lets someone else do it
For fucks sa-
And at the end, what has she learned? That the thing she only knew half an hour ago shouldn’t affect her, so back to status quo
Wasted potential - Monsters
Imagine a super cool idea for a monster? Cool, add it into an episode.
And now get rid of it super quickly or butcher the premise.
REGENERATING CYBERMEN? Let’s have one shoot the other to show how bad it would be and then kill them immediately.
Tumblr media
The Pting, capabale of disrupting a ships infrastructure an- Nah, just dick around with the lights.
A TIME TRAVELLING RACIST WHO KNOWS HOW TO FUCK UP THE TIMELINE
Let’s not even reference him 15 episodes later
Cyberman hybrid?
You get the idea.
The Master, or rather, the Missy Issue
The Master is putting on his best Simms Master homage, and like, I get it. It’s a good Master, and Sacha really puts his all into it.
I can only hope that this Master is before Yana. Missy’s exit was poetic, done well. Of course, just when she could feel ok joining the Doctor, the obstacle in her way was herself.
It’s not even the fact she died and why is he back now, it’s ... this Master has almost no nuance to him. He wants the Doctor to know the truth, which is at least some Master motives, but then its just wanton destruction for the sake of it. Like Simms but “what if we made him more crazy” The Master is more than this, can be more than this. It was nice seeing Jodie try and relate to him but this Master has thrown out three years of compelling evolution of the character. To throw it all out seems ... odd.
Tumblr media
I can’t fault his performance though, he can be real damn quiet and sinister and really out there when he’s screaming at things.
The episodes themselves
Good cast, good side characters, good ideas, butchered in execution by not exploring the main cast, falling flat on the ideas and by the second season, losing the fun side characters.
Episodes I liked
Woman Who Fell To Earth
Rosa
Demons of the Punjab
WitchFinders
Takes You Away
Fugitive of the Judoon
Can you Hear me
Episodes I hated
Orphan 55
Arachnids
The Timeless Children
The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos (for cutting everything short)
Everything else was mostly unmemorable I fell asleep on Ascension of the Cybermen, had to rewind it.
The Retcon
You knew this was coming.
Tumblr media
I put it last for I feel there’s a hundred and one issues here and it’d be cruel to just go for the obvious first. Maybe people would think I’d be against this one thing and that’s why I hate the rest. God no, I was so annoyed going into this episode, let alone for what it was about to deliver.
I don’t outright hate past Doctors. Hell, shove the brains of Morbius in there. It shits a bit on Hartnell and established lore a bit, but still.
“But the Brains of Morbius said-“
The eighth doctor said he was half-human, there are some bits of this canon we ignore.
But oh well, it’s not the main crux of the issue.
The Doctor, before this, was a Time Lord. He wasn’t much of a good one, by Time Lord standards at least. Ran from the schism, wasn’t as good as the Master in school, didn’t like the stuffy nature of his race, or their non-intervention policy. Ran off in a stolen ship with a knackered console and wanted to see the universe.
He flouted the rules. He stood up for people where Time Lords wouldn’t. Observe, don’t intervene. But the Doctor couldn’t, too curious, too inquisitive. He got a fondness for humans, god knows why.
But this Time Lord was against his own people, he was kinder than them, but alien to us. He wanted to learn, and left his planet to see if there was good in the universe. He was a rather shit Time Lord but helped where he could, making a difference in other people’s lives, trying to be the best he could be, learning.
This got him into trouble with the Time Lords of course, but, hey, it’s a funny old universe.
And we like that, as British folk. An underdog common person just trying to help out and be good.
What we’re not a fan of is saying the the Doctor isn’t just some Time Lord that likes helping out, but a chosen one who is the reason that Time Lords exist in the first place and is of another dimensional world and there were 50 of them and they knew kung fu in the super secret Time Lord service but they wiped her mind because it was super secret guys and she can live forever and is immortal and-
I was annoyed when the 50th made a slight mockery of the Time War. I get we don’t always have to stick so closely to canon, but holy shit the Timeless Child.
The fact it was exposition dumped on us and then wrapped up 10 minutes after with NEW ADVENTURES AT CHRISTMAS was just the icing on the cake.
If you wanted to pull this off, this should have been the Doctor’s struggle for the next season, coming to terms that her life is missing, that the Time Lords did this, that she didn’t even know what was right or not
But no, resolved. Felt not like adding to the lore but upending it on its head to say he could.
It’s why I don’t blame Jodie, who does an excellent job. Or the cast.
I blame Chibnall.
And it wouldn’t be as bad if the writing leading up to it helped serve the episode. But there was nothing there.
Conclusion
Tumblr media
The writing is trash, the Doctor is underdeveloped, the cast outside of Graham aren’t explored, the setup for the finales are weak and uninspired, the retcons are going to cause major issues down the line and you’ve changed the very nature of the Doctor’s character and didn’t even have good writing behind it nor did much to explore it.
And I’m sorry it had to happen to such a good casting decision.
Here’s hoping you sign on to Big Finish and they give you some good storylines Jodie, you deserve it.

Crunch Time
story share 001
So I keep getting these random scenes of ideas running threw my head. I don’t know what comes before or after to make it into a real story so I’m going to put them up here. If there seem interesting to anyone feel free to use or add on to this. All I ask is if you do use it tag me so I can read what you add.
This story has the 10 Doctor, Yaz, 13 Doctor, and the Master (O)
https://archiveofourown.org/works/25688824
Yaz looked at the man in amazement. She shouldn't have been focused on him when everything was a mess. But as long as she knew the Doctor she had always been a woman. But here he stood, the Doctor, man. Long and lanky with short brown hair.
He rambled on. That same familiar tone that she found she was in a trance, smiling as she watched him.
"You really are the Doctor," Yaz said before she could think better of it.
"Well yeah, I did say." He briefly turned to her before rambling on.
"Yeah, it's just that. I’m just so used to you being a girl." Yaz said, feeling her cheeks getting red as she spoke.
He squinted at her. "Really!?" But before he could say anything a woman burst into the room. The Doctor, the one that she knew all too well.
"Ok, I got some good news and I got some bad news!" The Doctor said as she tried to catch her breath. "We have limited oxygen, there are hundreds of people who may die, we are on a ship where the TARDIS can't translate and I have no idea how to use this operating system. Oh yeah." Pulling out her sonic, "This doesn't work."
"And the good news?" The other Doctor said, an eye raised.
She pointed to the man who was doubled over in the corner with a wide grin. "Because of him."
The other Doctor stared at her. "How does O being sick help us?"
"The better question is do we want to help him?" Yaz said as the Doctor walked over to where he was sitting. His head resting in his hands.
"What makes you think I'll help you." He said through gritted teeth, veins pausing on his temple.
"Don't take this the wrong way." The younger Doctor asked. "But how could he help? If you are really my future self you know how clever I am. If I can't figure it out I doubt he's going to be able to. No offense." He said quickly as O was able to raise him long enough to glare at him.
"Again, why would we want to help him," Yaz repeated herself. "If you forgot he tried to kill us."
The Doctor kept her eyes on him. "What do you say? Want to help team TARDIS and all the people aboard?"
He glared up at her, face red with pain. The worlds, I would rather die forward at the tip of his tough but never came out. Double back over the clutching at his stomach in pain.
When he looked back up he had a devilish grin on his face. His deadly cold eyes piercing threw her. "Say it," he snarled. "If you want your little pets to live, say it."
"You are benefiting from this too." She said, almost in a way that was as cold as him.  When he didn't budge she threw her arms up. "I don't know what you want."
The younger Doctor slowly walked over to the two of them "O? Have you been here before. Do you know how their computers work?"
He shook his head, "no."
"Why can't you do it?" Yaz quickly interjected. "I mean one Doctor is great. I'm sure the two of you can figure it out. You can't trust him."
The younger Doctor grew ridgit, the realization of who was in front of him washed over. "You can't be, I saw you die."
A burst of manic laughter came over him. "You're going to have to be more specific than that. I think my count is at about 95 now'."
"Well?" He asked, giving the Doctor the same cold icy glare.
"Well considering we both more or less said even with the two of us we are not going to be able to do it." She sighed, feeling physically Ill just saying that.
The two locked into a staring contest. "Fine!" He broke first. "But help me up." The Doctor put her arm around his waist helping him stan as the four of them left the room.

HOW CHIBNALL PISSED ME OFF
I have been away from Tumblr for years, but here I am now. The reason for my return is simple: Chibnall pissed me off and Facebook is not the right place for a a rant like the one you are going to read. Posting it on twitter would make more sense, you say? Probably. But I have no time to count words. I will start with why I had high expectantions on Chibanl and then I will explain how he shuttered every single one of them.
1. When I heard Chibnall was coming after Moffat I was happy. I have always had that twisted relationship with Doctor Who where I loved the adventures, the adrenaline, the jokes, the discoveries, the aliens, but I also loved the feels and angst that came with the Companions and the Master. I had seen Broadchurch, so I “knew” Chibnall, I was sure enough he would not mess around. I was so wrong
2. Female!Doctor. Not a fan. Nu-uh. I have never felt the need for a female Doctor. There were plenty of great female characters in Doctor Who, both in the Classic era and the New era. Every single one of them had their own personality, their own skills and flaws. It was great, because they were actually people. Doctor Who was the first show that I watched where I didn’t get annoyed by female characters. They were strong in their own ways, and that didn’t mean being a super killing machine without special fighting skills. They were real and they were fundamental. Without them the Doctor lost his moral compass and we saw that more than once. So no, I didn’t need a female Doctor, I was alreay represented by amazing women in the show who were not less important than him. Moreover, I have no problem feeling represented by a man, I mean... men are still people, they have feelings and I am capable of understanding that. It’s called empathy. I am not so stupid that I cannot relate to a character only because they don’t have my genitalia.
3. Lack of imagination. Another problem I have with a female Doctor is the same I have when authors remake characters, when they change gender or ethnicity to a character to give people representation. It’s insulting. You are basically saying that you are not capable of creating a new character for that minority (being women, an ethnic group or disabled people) without using a pre-existing character. It means that in your head, to detach yourself from the negative stereotypes, you need a white male model because you are not able to imagine a minority character without those flaws on your own.
4. Companions: Graham was fun compared to Ryan and Yaz, but if we compare the Companions to the older ones, the new ones lose. And lose real bad. They left me nothing. They characterization is non-existent, they follow the Doctor and that’s it. Ryan should have disability but it appears only when the screenwriter remembers. Meh. I don’t have much to say about them, they really didn’t left any impression on me. I was not fond of Martha and I can list reasons why, I couldn’t stand Clara and I can go on 30 minutes saying why. These new ones are just... meh.
5. The Doctor. I didn’t see him... her... them. Let’s start with a note: I saw Jodie in Broadchurch and I didn’t like her there, so when I found out she was going to be the new Doctor, I was not amazed. If it had to be a woman, I would have preferred someone else, but anyway. This Doctor didn’t have any special features, it just looked like an hyped 10 or 11, but without their depth. Kind is an adjective, not a character trait. I feel that her character was not studied enough, she didn’t have enough depth. It got better with the beginning of this new season but honestly? You can’t be able to write a character properly only when they face their nemesis.
6. The episodes. Oh. My. God. The first season of this new Doctor was a series of episodes that looked like they jumped out of the 60s. Teaching people through an entertainment show doesn’t mean you have to take the show, make an episode on whatever the problem you want to discuss is and make some sort of documentary about it. It means you try to explain to people through fun, adventures, analogies... those who watch DW now are not 6 years old. They know that if you show them a genocide on another planet with segregation, spaceships etc, you are telling them not to be racist assholes. They do not need Rosa Parks to give them a lecture. Episode in which appears a villain with an unkown objective and we don’t see ever again, but ok.
7. The cherry on top. The timeless children. What. The. Actual. Fuck. So Chibnall just decided to take 60 years of TV show and toss it into the garbage can, right? That was the purpose, right? Because otherwise I don’t see it. So the Doctor is a creature from another planet, not Gallifrey, who can regenerate. The Gallifreyan see them, think “oh nice” and go all Frankenstein on them. Noice. I have just a teeny tiny itsy bitsy problem with that. And for one I mean so many that they are more than the leaves on the trees in the Amazon forest. You are nullifying “End of time”, “This is Gallifrey”, the 50th anniversary... moreover Clara saw their past, she would have seen that something was off. They can’t remember? Fine. But it’s still there, it’s not like they transplanted their brain.
8. The name of the Doctor. The big secret. The name that must never be spoken. The name that was keeping the universe together... and they revealed it like that. Brendan? Really? The name of the Doctor was a legend, you were not supposed to name them for real! Brendan? SERIOUSLY?
9. Doctor and Master. They were friends since they were kids. They grew up together. They studied together. They went on adventures together. They lost friends together. They grew apart and they kept fighting each other... but they were best enemies. Ok, a couple of times one really killed/let the other die, but go back to the beginning and count those times. They were two faces of the same coin, getting on each other nerves and saving each other over and over again. For the Doctor, the Master was the only other Time Lord in the universe for so long he was willing to pardon a genocide to save him (more than once). Their relationship was based on the fact that in a way they were complementary: the Master has no restraints, while the Doctor tries to be good when they both have done so many terrible things (including genocide, eh Doctor? You are not so innocent, honey). Their relationship was beautiful and painful. And it went down the drain. You are telling me that the Doctor is a superior being, they are not equals anymore, they are not two faces of the same coin, they are not even the same species so what are we talking about? And the coldness of the Doctor while she lets him die? Who the hell are you?
TL;DR Chibnall took a character I loved from a show I loved and torn it apart. The season and the characters were not written as I expected, I mean that they were 2D version of themselves, no depth there. Nothing interesting. I think he tried too much all at once: female Doctor, 3 companions, one shot episodes. Man, pick one thing you want to change and stick with it. You already have to run a show you have never run before, so you have to understand how to make it work. 4 characters are difficult to handle all at once and at the same time give them all the right space, depth and characterization in seasons that have less than 15 episodes each.
I am so pissed. I didn’t appreciate Jodie, but in a little corner of my mind I had always tought I would come back to Doctor Who once she was gone, but that’s not possible anymore. Funny thing is, this show made me meet the majority of my friends, the people with whom I started hanging our 6 years ago. We would have never met without DW probably. I kind of feel robbed now.

Friday Finds & Reader Recommendations – 04-24-2020
Good morning and HAPPY FRIDAY!!! I hope we all have a cozy and wonderful weekend loaded in reading some seriously great books!! Speaking of which…
I’m already almost finished a book I just started a day ago and I LOVE IT!!!!! HOLY. MOLY. It’s the first part of a duet and the next one is coming out in a couple of weeks and I’m so relieved because I know the end of this one will make me crazy. LOL!!! I think I may have just found a new favorite author, and my review will be up this weekend.
In the meantime…
TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT WE FOUND FOR THE WEEKEND  !!
STILL ON ➔➔➔ TWO MONTHS FREE KINDLE UNLIMITED DEAL!!! <— If you haven’t tried it yet, now’s your chance. WE ARE LOVING IT! And it’s still going on through the end of April!
And…
So, That Got Weird by Amelia Kingston <—THE AWKWARD GIRL & THE JOCK ALERT!! Ashley loved it so much that she read it again! “…As the reigning campus sex god, he has the playboy act down pat. But underneath those six-pack abs beats a broken heart. He doesn’t trust people and he sure as hell doesn’t believe in love. The odd couple strike a deal. Four weeks of & “tutoring” for five thousand dollars…”
I reread ‘So, That Got Weird’ by Amelia Kingston and that was a fun time – it has the same vibe as Elle Kennedy or Maya Hughes’ books (which I’m a huge fan of).
Third Life by Noelle Adams <—LIVE!! AGE GAP OLDER MAN/YOUNGER WOMAN ALERT!! She only knows his first name but… “...he keeps asking me to meet him all over the world, and I keep saying yes. …I don’t know anything about him except his first name. That’s the way he likes it. He’s too old for me, and he’s hiding secrets, but I’m not going to be able to keep my heart out of it for long…“
Detained by Ainslie Paton <— MONY LOVED THIS ONE!
Mony: I finished Detained by Ainslie Paton, Aussie author. Really loved it!
First chapters – Mystery Guy & female reporter stuck in a Shanghai airport detention room – clever & hot. Characters “real”, dialogue tight – kind of book I like. Also, story unusual & set in China & AUS. Bit too long at end but I wanted to read it in one shot. Love finding books that punch their weight above their GR rating.
This was one of Ann’s “personal 5-star lose all track of time and reality books.”
Master of Salt & Bones by Keri Lake <— LIVE!!! DARK ROMANCE ALERT!!! P.S. I love this author!! “…When I was a little girl, I dreamed a handsome knight would come and rescue me from my wretched mother. He’d ride up on his white steed and break the curse I’ve been fated to carry since the day I was born. Funny how things changed over time. How the fairy tale twisted into something far more crooked, darker than I ever imagined. In reality, my knight is scarred and broken, living alone in a castle of bones that overlooks the sea. He isn’t searching for me. He never was. Lucian Blackthorne is as cursed as I am, and equally shunned by the locals…”

She’s a bartender living smack dab in the middle of NYC and has had it up to here with entitled tourists, an annoying roommate and just barely surviving. She’s forced to move into a cheaper apartment, and with it comes a seedy landlord, drippy faucets and a peculiar stranger in apartment 13.  Shahzad has pulled all the stops to get to know Ms. Vivian Carver, someone who in no shape, form or fashion understands her full potential…”

Don’t Love Me (My Secret Boyfriend Book 1) by S. Doyle <— HE TOLD HER NOT TO… “…The state took me away from my mother when was I twelve and sent me to live with an uncle, who worked on some fancy estate.  That’s when I met Ash, she was ten and the daughter of the man who owned the estate. She thought I would be her new best friend but I only wanted to be left alone. For years she was always there, always annoying me, always wanting more from me. But our roles were clear. She was the princess and I was the chauffeur’s charity case.  I told her not to fall in love with me…she didn’t listen…”

The Danger You Know by Lily White <— LILY WHITE’S LATEST DARK READ ALERT!! HE’S HER STALKER…“…I pursue her despite the wedding bells that rang for another, only I can see how she is drowning beneath mediocrity. How many times must I remind her? It can’t matter that I am the person who ruined her life. The man who killed her father. The constant shadow that watches her sleep. The lover who prefers dirty alleyways to freshly laundered sheets. She’s mine. Always has been…”

The Prince and the Pawn (When Rivals Play Book 4) by B.B. Reid <— SERIES FINALE!!! BULLY BOOK ALERT! “...They were wrong for each other from the start. The jock and the nerd, what a cliché they made. He was the town prince, and she was a nobody. Tyra Bradley was invisible. That is until she told him he needed some manners, and so began their game of cat and mouse...”
Everything Girl by Emily Mayer <— MONY LOVED IT!! And was her message to the author about it (and the author replied).
Mony: Hi Emily,
Loved loved loved your book. Well written, quirky characters, and great book boyfriend…loved the Montana setting. Good job pacing the slow burn between Jack and Evelyn. A gem.
Hoping you’re thinking about writing a sequel about Ben. Fantastic character – came alive with his wit, charm and “manwhore struggles.” Just begging to be written! What do you think? Thanks!
Emily (the author): …I took a detour for book #2, but I am spending my quarantine with Ben! I couldn’t agree with you more. He definitely needed his own story. I am already a little bit in love with his story and can’t wait to share it with you!
To another reader: “still hoping for a May release date” ..

The Girl and the Stars (The Book of the Ice 1) by Mark Lawrence <— LIVE FANTASY ROMANCE ALERT!!!!! GORGEOUS COVER & TITLE!! “…To resist the cold, to endure the months of night when even the air itself begins to freeze, requires a special breed. Variation is dangerous, difference is fatal. And Yaz is not the same.   Yaz’s difference tears her from the only life she’s ever known, away from her family, from the boy she thought she would spend her days with, and has to carve out a new path for herself in a world whose existence she never suspected...”
Pretty Things by Janelle Brown <— RECENT PSYCH-THRILLER RELEASE AND GUESS WHAT????
Nay: For anyone who likes book adaptations, I just saw Maryse’s FB post about Pretty Things by Janelle Brown, and when I went to add it to my tbr on GR, I saw that one of my friends had posted that Nicole Kidman is going to produce and star in the book’s adaptation as a streaming Amazon series.
Maryse: OOOOOH YAY!!!! I love that!! Though I’m going to read it first.  Thank you for that news, Nay!
Michele: Just finished Fixed on You series…..GREAT, love, mystery, heartbreak and well the end……it was the best bargain….
Cheryl: Hudson is a hot alpha guy who says right off the bat that he is incapable of love and combined with Alayna’s obsessive “love’ disorder, you just know a train wreck is coming.
Krisztina: I just finished the Fixed trilogy by Laurelin Paige. Hudson (the whole story from his point of view). I have to say that I was reading the 2nd half of Forever With You with tears in my eyes … now I am obsessed with Hudson Pierce
A Kiss to Tell by W. Winters <— SUPER-BARGAIN ALERT! HE WAS BAD NEWS & SHE WAS THE GIRL THAT DIDN’T BELONG… “...From the first time I saw him, Sebastian had a hard stare that pinned me in place. And years later, it hasn’t softened. We lived on the same street and went to the same school, although he was a year ahead.  Even so close, he was untouchable. He was bad news and I was the sad girl who didn’t belong. One night changed everything...”
