Scientists should study my brain… Because every time I see something related to sasusaku I can't explain it… it feels like I'm going to die of happiness, I combust, I feel every cell in my body bubbling up and I scream in exasperation. What would that be? Maybe I'm crazy.

NaruSaku makes more sense than NaruHina
Before I'm accused again of being a Hinata hater. No. Hinata is my favorite Kunoichi. But I can't see her in a relationship with Naruto. You don't necessarily have to hate one of the characters, just because you don't favor the pairing. I just think NaruSaku would have made more sense than NaruHina. And I can have that opinion. Reasons for NaruSaku to become canon: 1. The story started with Sakura being in love with Sasuke, Naruto with Sakura and Hinata with Naruto. So Naruto loved Sakura at least from the beginning. 2. Sakura found Naruto quite annoying at first. But her opinion changed over time. The good thing is, NaruSaku has had a lot of time to develop. There were many scenes where Sakura blushed a little at what Naruto said or did. 3. Naruto saved her from Sasuke's attack and he also accepted that Sakura loved Sasuke. He did everything to bring Sasuke back for her. 4. Sakura was always by Naruto's side. Even Naruto's father, Minato, assumed that Sakura was Naruto's girlfriend, and Naruto indirectly gave his approval. 5. The fact that Sakura resembles Kushina in terms of backstory and character and Kushina said to Naruto that she wanted someone for her son who was similar to her. Later, Naruto also says that he chose someone who isn't like his mother. This implies that Hinata is not like Kushina.
Reasons why NaruHina is no good Canon-Pairing: 1. The story started with Sakura being in love with Sasuke, Naruto with Sakura and Hinata with Naruto. So Hinata loved Naruto at least from the beginning. 2. Aside from the fact that Naruto and Hinata didn't have enough scenes together to develop a romance, their relationship has never changed. To Naruto, Hinata was always just a good friend of his, which was a bit odd. Hinata also always just watched Naruto until the end and didn't come out of herself. It took her fighting Pain so she could confess her feelings to Naruto. 3. After her declaration of love, Naruto didn't comment on it. Much time later at the great Ninja war, he gave his father approval, when he called Sakura Naruto's girlfriend. Little time later, Neji's death brought him together with Hinata, which looks like Naruto's love for her was forced. 4. To justify the pairing later or to make it more plausible for the fans, Hinata got traits of Sakura/Kushina. A bit of her backstory was also added to her. This not only made Hinata look out of character, but made the couple more forced and illogical. Also, when they included that Naruto Sakura just wanted to tease Sasuke out of competitive behavior it was more than just illogical. Reasons why SasuSaku is a semi-good Canon-Pairing: 1. The story started with Sakura being in love with Sasuke, Naruto with Sakura and Hinata with Naruto. So Sakura loved Sasuke at least from the beginning. 2. Sasuke didn't like Sakura at first while Sakura was more than in love with him. She let her hair grow long especially for him and her friendship with Ino broke up because both girls were in love with Sasuke. But Sakura went through a transformation, which was underlined by the shortening of her hair. When Sasuke wanted to leave the village, she stopped him and insisted on her feelings. When asked if he hated her, he said no. Also, Sasuke was grateful for what she said to him. The fact that he prefers strong women and Sakura becomes quite strong over time also plays into this pairing. 3. After that, she was actually just a stage character when Naruto and Sasuke fought each other. In addition, she decided to leave her homeland and thus everyone to be with Sasuke. Especially since he almost killed her twice. Whether and why Sasuke had feelings for her was never really explained and the pairing seemed pretty one-sided to me in the end. It's at least more logical than NaruHina.

SasuSaku - The Swordsman and The City Girl - AU
(This has sat in the drafts for ages ;-; if it gets good reception I’ll continue it!!)
Konoha was in the midst of its dry season. The middle of fall was approaching, but that didn’t stop the bustle of the Village streets. Sakura was sat leaning over a table towards Ino in a small tea shop, one leg sat over the other. Her chin dipped comfortably on the support of her closed hands, holding up her head on the table. Ino was snapping about a difficult customer she’d had earlier that day. Her mimicry of the customer was almost like a stage play that Sakura took a liking to watch most days of the week when they met up.
Ino was rambling on about a difficult customer she’d had in the shop earlier that day, and Sakura was zoning in on her wobbling reflection in the steaming teacup in front of her. Ino paused mid sentence, rolling her eyes.
“Oi, Sakura!” The Cherry Blossom girl snapped from her daze.
“Eh?!” The teacup had spun on it’s axis and nearly doused the table before she caught it. “S-sorry, Ino..”
“You will be if you keep spacing out on me! Honestly what’s gotten into you lately! You’re so out of it!”
“I-I don’t really know.” Her stare had moved away from Ino’s frustrated face, as she feigned her cluelessness.
“Hmm?” Ino sat her chin in her hand and tilted her head towards her friend with a smirk. “I think I do.”
“W-What do you mean?!”
Ino’s smirk dropped, and pointed to the red cloth bandaged around her wrist. Sakura clocked and held onto it with the same dazed look Ino had seen moments before.
“You can’t stop thinking about him, can you?”
Her grip tightened on her wrist. “When you meet someone shrouded in mystery, you can’t help but think about what sort of person they are.”

What do you think of what this person said, also There is an interview that he distorted https://cakebake.tumblr.com/post/190996961185/i-still-do-not-understand-if-it-was-planned-from
The interviews are right, but what the person is saying doesn't properly take in consideration when they happend and the context. Like I explained previously the reason Kishimoto said he decided on NaruHina in the middle would have been cause he considered NaruSaku during the middle part of series, before finally deciding to stick to his original plan.
It is obvious that Kishimoto always intended for both NaruHina and SasuSaku from the early stages. NaruHina was obviously planned from the beginning, as where SasuSaku I say was planned from around the Forest of Death arc that was when the ship started truly getting some romance development. In part 1 there are clear NaruHina and SasuSaku moments that just make it obvious that Kishimoto was gunning for those ships.
For example one of the interviews is with the voice actors and they all said they already knew the couples endgame. Now what the writer doesn't take in account the time they were talking about and when the anime started. The manga was just about ending the Konoha Crush arc when the anime started. Also each voice actor is mostly speaks about their characters since Sasuke and Sakura are couple you can tell that the discussion focuses more on them since both voice actors are there as where Naruto's voice actor is on his own. Naruto's voice actors does confirm NaruHina was planned and that he got told about the ending during the first meeting, same with Sakura and Sasuke's confirmed SasuSaku as well.
Now what each of them says is true, but it is their subjective opinions and from what they remember plus they each talk mostly about the characters they play, hence why Sakura and Sasuke's voice actors don't talk about NaruHina cause Takeuchi Naruto's voice actor already confirmed the statement about NaruHina being planned since the anime started. Another thing to consider is if they were told that when they were together, for example Takeuchi could have been on about the first meeting she had with Kishimoto and not the team meeting.
All the interviews Kishimoto does not actually contradict himself as each interview has different context and expands on things. For example as I mentioned before the interview with the voice actors they are on about when the Naruto anime started which is in 2002 four years after the Naruto manga started. So the voice actors only know that NaruHina and SasuSaku were endgame when the anime started not when the manga started.
As where Kishimoto later confirms her planned NaruHina since the start of the manga as where he didn't have any real plans for Sakura when she was first introduce in the manga. This actually lines with how Kishimoto treats her in the manga at first you notice Sakura practically does nothing, it is only during the Forest of Death arc where she starts getting some spotlight and also when her relationship with Sasuke develops a bit and isn't as one sided as before. However in part 1 Sakura despite also being a member of team 7 still doesn't do much for the rest of part 1 and her most important scenes centre around Sasuke.
In fact all the interviews back up each other, the only one that is inconstant is the 2015 when he said he decided in the middle which I already explained.
As for the databooks, the first one isn't clear enough to properly read the kanji and while I compared it with the kanji for love and it doesn't resemble it I couldn't figure out what the kanji actually means since the image resolution isn't clear enough. However in databooks 1 and 2 you can make that 好む(Suki) which means like for Naruto and in the second databook Sakura also has 好むused for how she feels about Sasuke in the second databook. So I highly doubt the first databook says Sakura is in love with Sasuke consider it changes between the first and second databooks.
The third databook suffers from the same translation fault the anime had in that the English translated 好む as love not like. In Japanese it makes sense why Naruto didn't respond to Hinata's confession cause what she says can be taken as like and not love.

Does anyone have any fancasts for Sasuke? I want to practice a more realistic art style and need a reference. I’m not really familiar with Japanese celebrities so suggestions will be appreciated! 💕

Do Ryuji and Yui have some sort of beef? They don't seem to want to take photos together? At least not anymore? I also noticed that Koudai isn't taking any pictures with him either? I only saw one T7 photo; but Ryuji seemed pretty far? Is it just me? Like what is going on?

Road to Serial Shipping
Tumblr media
It starts with SasuSaku usually... Then it evolves to NaruSaku. You stay with NaruSaku and then SaiSaku creeps in. You're reminded of how you liked SasuSaku when Sasuke makes first attempt on Sakura's life. It disappoints you, angers you and you wonder if SasuSaku has any hope. You shift back to NaruSaku and hope the best for the two cuties. Then NaruHina starts looking up and you are once again disappointed that all NaruSaku development was for nothing.
By the time, Sasuke is done with his second attempt on Sakura's life you've given up on both SasuSaku and NaruSaku and instead move to start shipping KakaSaku. Itachi's truth reveal hurts bad and you think Sasuke doesn't deserve neither Itachi's sacrfice nor Sakura's love. Things start looking up for KakaSaku when war starts and you're very happy. Then you suddenly come to realisation that reincarnated hokages look great and start thinking if Sakura was born at wrong timeline. But that's just a passing thought and you never think that again, right? Wrong, but you wouldn't know it until much later into future.
While war rages on, you're in a hell where you ship NaruSaku again but harder and you know you'll be disappointed. When war comes to an end, you are convinced there wasn't any hope for NaruSaku, and you realise you've been played (wronged!!) because Sakura's emotional development up till the point was all for nothing because she once again ends up back to square one where she turns blushing mess before Sasuke. Disappointment couldn't begin to describe what you feel. You wonder if there's a hope for KakaSaku. You'd have shipped wholly supported LeeSaku really. But you know deep down there's no hope for Sakura and her brilliant future.
You start picking up movies now that series is over and you remininse over the wasted potential that is NaruSaku and LeeSaku. It's heartbreaking but you watch it anyway. You've sealed your fate when you watch Sakura being lifted like a princess by none other than Uchiha Itachi. You know you're in deep shit when you rewind and watch the scene over and over. ItaSaku starts appealing to you more than it should, stronger than any other ship. You're disappointed at yourself because that ship had never sailed and never will because Itachi is dead. But you steel yourself because canon sucks anyway.
It's when you look up the Google for KakaSaku and ItaSaku pics that you come across the term fanfiction. You've heard about it but never thought it's worth your time because if YouTube videos taught you anything it's that fanfictions are written by 9 year olds and you're 15+ now. You refuse to lower yourself to that level but...you give in because, curiosity.
Wattpad was awful, and FFN turned out quite better and that's where you stay for couple years. Your expectations goes up, up, up. You find AO3 and it becomes your holy scripture.
It started with canon and semi-canon ships, it ends with piles of crack. It starts with shinobi from other villages. And Gaara is single, cute and alive. Isn't that just great? Well, yes, but then Mist Shinobi are just so compatible with Sakura's aggression... Why you are shipping Chojuro and Suigetsu with Sakura is mystery even to you but you are still doing it. You never thought one day you'd find youself shipping Sakura with any past hokage or dead, evil men... Actually you did but that's not important, anyway so you are now on the stage of conversion. It's just Sasori anyway, he is handsome, redeemable with enough love and care, and you like Sakura who has so much love to give and is just so shippable... Ahem.
You pick Naruto again and see if you'll be able to get your mind out of gutter. No, it went overdrive because you're now picking signs that you never had noticed before. What is this? Ino was better match for Sakura all along. My OTP is right here and I never noticed?? That's how you also end up picking up KarinSaku. Shit, Naruto should have ended up with Sasuke and let Sakura have Hinata. It might just be that you're hallucinating but you figure MadaSaku and ShikaSaku have good compatibility.
Shipping Sakura with someone who is not only married but also father to someone is a line you never thought you'd cross. But you did. You're horrified, hate how your mind works and you know there's a special place in hell for you but... Curiosity is a monster.
Finally, you give up trying to 'purify' your ways and just decide 'to hell with it'. Now there's not a single Sakura ship you've not yet seen that's already out there... And you're always open for something new.
It's been xx years since you first picked a fanfiction... You're not proud of yourself at all and you wouldn't tell a soul outside of fandom community that you read fanfictions, least of all the kind of fanfictions, but you're happy.
Your happiness is all that matters.
If someone asks you what your OTP is... uh, just smile, wide. Or say it's complicated. They will probably drop the subject, probably.
