Retrospect

Right. She’d brought that incident earlier today. When Fiona and them were in the back room of the bar, talking about Fiona’s predicament while her bandit captors drank in the noise of the rest of the Purple Skag. That time Vallory had her outside of the bio-dome and-...well...she doesn't like to think about the rest. “I don’t blame you, you know,” she says. “It’s not like you stabbed me.” “But I let her stab you,” he replies, frowning to no one in particular beside himself as he studies the skin. “Didn’t even do anything after she did, I just let her do it.” “August, I knew your mom for about a day,” she says, trying to meet his gaze in some sort of extension of comfort but he’s too focused on her scar. His stare is distant, like he’s trapped and trying to map a way to keep her from getting it. Some sort of answer he could give to keep his mothers knife at bay. Maybe there were a magic set of words from him or her or Rhys or Fi or anyone else that’d make that happen. But that’s not the reality Sasha knows. “She’d probably have stabbed you if you said anything.” “Yeah, she would have,” he says, no particular malice or hesitation in his tone because it might as well be fact. “Doesn’t mean I should have let her stab you.”

Summery: After the Vault Key (and getting Rhys and Fiona back from….where ever they went), Sasha's fallen into a very comfortable life with August in Hollow Point. At least until her sister gets herself into trouble, leaving Sasha reflecting on the events of her life while she and August wait for Rhys to pick up his goddamn phone.

Ok hear me out....... what if?....... Sasha's the secret 7th siren

Hey! Spoilers for the new TFTBL below, if you don't want to witness that then I wouldn't read this post.

Personally, I fucking hate the new TFTBL, for many, many reasons. Which is disappointing, because the new playable characters looked really fun and cute and I was looking forwards to seeing more of them- but the SLANDEROUS way they treated the established characters from the original TFTBL was enough to make me absolutely despise the entire thing regardless.

As a person w/ a very strong special interest in Borderlands, here are the following things that bother me. As always, if you don't agree, that's chill- at the end of the day it's an opinion about the writing of a video game, not the end of the world.

1.) The most blatantly upsetting thing to me personally: the way they treated Rhys. Holy shit. Not only making references to more interesting things he's done constantly, but going the full bootleg-Handsome-Jack-corporate-asshole schtick after his entire character arc in the original TFTBL being about him rejecting his idolisation of Handsome Jack and becoming a better person who distanced himself from Hyperion's kooky backstabbing corporate atmosphere? And his part of the story in BL3 being easily interpreted as him working hard to defend the positive work environment he built in the new Atlas Corporation? It's just a kick in the fucking nads, man. To me, even as the CEO of Atlas, he came across as the type of guy who was going to do the right thing to the best of his capability- to work with cool people like Zer0 and Lorelei and the others to defend what he built when he re-started Atlas. A company that was everything he never experienced being a Hyperion lackey that got fucked over. He took his employees to a fucking theme park, man. Promethea was a peaceful average urban cityscape of a planet until Maliwan came along and started waging war. You're telling me you expect me to believe that Mr. "oh god my bagels" Strongfork, Mr. "this loader bot is my bro now" Strongfork, Mr. "ripped my own limb out of my body so that the Jack AI couldn't hurt anyone else or myself" Strongfork is gladly allowing animal torture to go on in his company. That he has zero sympathy for a doctor like Anu with big plans like he once had. Why did the writers decide they WANTED him to be a bad person? It means that his entire story was for nothing. His adventure being a Vault Hunter meant nothing, because of this shitty writing.

I thought it was bad when BL3 made sasha and fiona disappear (and we'll get to them, by thunder)- and reduced Vaughn's character to an insufferable comedic side character that lost all of the character development, genuine confidence and leadership skills he'd developed by the end of TFTBL. And it was. But this is like, salt on top of a wound at this point.

I'm splitting this into parts because I'm so upset lol this is what having autism and being disappointed in your special interest looks like people <3
