to be known is to be loved; (and so eternally beloved you become)
Happy nameday, Raginmar!
More context about each character and their relationship with Raginmar below the cut.
Tumblr media
L'vazha Tia and Canso Lechanteur
Members of Viatgers Vuit, an adventuring party consisting of Raginmar and his closest companions. Raginmar and L'vazha are both rogues affiliated with the Dutiful Sisters of the Edelweiss (with L'vazha having extensive reach in the shadows beyond that), while Raginmar and Canso both stood against the Garlean Empire at one point in their past (and paid dearly for it). While their histories and personalities vary greatly – Raginmar is a near-unflappable veteran soldier with quiet, cutting wit; L'vazha is a lord in the criminal underworld masquerading as a friendly, jovial merchant; and Canso is a beguilingly charming former Imperial prisoner–turned–adventurer – the ruthless and cold-blooded pragmatism they all share sets them apart from the rest of the party.
Viatgers Vuit are no strangers to killing. These men murder.
Tumblr media
Adricienne Brookes
Member of Viatgers Vuit. Currently a postmaster affiliated with the Delivery Moogles, Adricienne was briefly a Scion of the Seventh Dawn before setting out to become an adventurer on her own terms. Joining Raginmar in delving into the mysteries of Haukke Manor was what inspired her to leave Gridania to see the world for herself – a decision that has literally broadened her horizons and taken her across the borders of Eorzea and to all corners of the known world, and eventually reconnected her with her long-lost father.
Tumblr media
Regissant Aujouerre and Niko Maimhov
Unaffiliated with Viatgers Vuit, Regissant and Niko are a duo of adventurers who cross paths with Raginmar frequently, beginning from their first adventuring job with Gridania's Carline Canopy, forming a party to investigate the Tam-Tara Deepcroft. Being a Highlander, a Duskwight and a Keeper of the Moon respectively, the trio faced significant prejudice from the Gridanian healer in their party who eventually abandoned them midway through battling the cultists cloistered within the deepcroft – surviving the ordeal fostered a deep bond between them that lasted over years of infrequent meetings in taverns and adventurer guild halls. Similar to Adricienne, it was Raginmar who encouraged the two to leave Gridania and free themselves from the city-state's deeply prejudiced societal shackles, and they have now made a name for themselves across Eorzea and beyond.
Tumblr media
Fionn Airgetlam
Member of the Lemures, a Garlean order dedicated to protecting and supporting Garlean refugees in Eorzea. Fionn is technically one such refugee, having been created as a warmachina as part of the VIIth Imperial Legion's Weapon project – only scaled down to the size of a man and possessing of the Warrior of Light's combat data. Despite the nature of its creation, the warmachina developed sentience and chose to flee his creators, eventually finding himself in Ul'dah where he came face-to-face with the very man he was created to destroy.
He had expected death from the Warrior of Light. He had not expected compassion; it was his extremely timely intervention that saved Fionn and fellow Lemure Arnegis from near-certain death. Raginmar would later outfit Fionn with a new arm, replacing the one that had been destroyed in his fight against the voidsent Orcus, and assist him with gaining entry into the abandoned keep of Dusk Vigil to rescue his mentor Drusilla.
(in another timeline, it would be through his first-hand knowledge of the Weapons project that Raginmar could save Gaius' children from perishing in battle and eventually save Alfonse Baelsar from complete subsummation into the Diamond Weapon)
Tumblr media
Marzanna Branmirasch and Sasariku Nonoriku
Members of Viatgers Vuit. Originally an independent duo of adventurers, Marzanna and Sasariku became part of the party after joining a number of them on a primal-dispatching quest. It would not be after many adventures moons later that they would learn of Marzanna's past as an Imperial scientist and engineer responsible for the horrific deaths of Raginmar's subordinates over ten years ago. Despite the revelation that nearly tore the party apart, Sasariku stood by his friend and first adventuring partner until the very end – to a resolution that only Raginmar and Marzanna know. Their history remains unknown to the others even now.
Marzanna's scene only shows her (stand-in model's) tail because the female Hrothgar is still unreleased in-game as of the creation of this post; maybe one day I'll remake this once Dawntrail releases.
Tumblr media
Kirika Kagutsuchi and Hyllizirn Ahldachtwyn
Members of Viatgers Vuit – the very first members, in fact: Kirika, Hyllizirn, L'vazha and Raginmar were the initial four members of what would eventually become one of Eorzea's finest adventuring parties, although they began their journey simply as a way to make ends meet in a strange new land. Throughout their adventures, Raginmar remained their steadfast pillar of unwavering support – from guild quests to journeys of self-discovery, internal conflicts and reclamations of honour, there is nobody the Viatgers Vuit trust with their lives more that him.

WoL Question of the Day #186
is your wol/oc a morning person or a night owl? how do they act if they're forced to stay up / get up early? Nov 28, 2022
The only time Raginmar isn't awake before dawn is when he's either unconscious or dying. He's used to functioning on a few hours' of sleep but now that he's getting older, he has to take short naps during the day if he's had to stay up way too late the night before.
Hyllizirn: wakes really easily, has no set sleeping schedule and can sleep or wake whenever.
Kirika: early to bed, early to rise (but takes hours to actually get out of bed).
L'vazha: night owl. Never in bed before 2am and gets very grumpy when he's waken before 8am.
Adricienne: perfectly normal sleeping schedule. Rises with the dawn. Truly a functional member of society.
Canso: champion cat-napper. Can fall asleep anywhere and anytime.
Sasariku: has trouble falling asleep. Doesn't sleep well.
Marzanna: they have never seen her sleep.

WoL Question of the Day #156
On a scale of 1 to 10 how hot does your wol think they are? Are they very much like, "Yeah I'm hot and I'm going to let everyone else know I am" or do they think very low of their appearance? Oct 19, 2022
Raginmar: knows he's attractive, just doesn't care enough to rate himself
Hyllizirn: oblivious herbo
Kirika: confident enough to rate herself an 8
L'vazha: rates himself a solid 7 and has taken advantage of his looks to charm people
Canso: thinks himself a 7, actually a 9 thanks to his striking yet delicate features
Adricienne: doesn't think she's anything special so rates herself a 5
Sasariku: what is hot
Branmirasch: surprisingly bashful for an "ara-ara" neesan, thinks herself a 3
Bonus:
Lunamara: the darling of Eorzea and the star's biggest idol has got to be a solid 10/10; she is VERY confident about being the most gorgeous in existence
Valeria: tentatively ranks herself a 6 because she likes how she looks, she just doesn't think she's special

WoL Question of the Day #86
okay okay i thought of a #wolqotd is your wol/oc literate? Who taught them how and what is their LEAST favorite thing to read? Jul 5, 2022
The adventuring party is literate to varying extents. Raginmar, Kirika, L'vazha are the most literate, while the others can read enough to get by in life. The only exception is Sasariku, who is barely literate and relies on Branmirasch to read roadsigns and guild notices for him.
Raginmar can read high-level academic texts and treatises with ease, Kirika was given an extensive education befitting the heir of a merchant dynasty, and L'vazha's work as both a merchant and a member of the Kyūryōshu requires him to be able to read and draft contracts etc.
Raginmar, Hyllizirn, Adricienne and Branmirasch learned how to read from their parent(s). Canso was taught by a fellow prisoner whilst in Garlean captivity, L'vazha by a high-ranking courtesan he befriended in his youth, and Kirika by her many expensive tutors.
As for their reading preferences, most of them have none! Kirika hate-reads the Hydaelyn version of penny dreadfuls and shares the terrible ones with Hyllizirn (and the awful Warrior of Light fanfics with a deeply amused Raginmar).

WoL Question of the Day #50
How would your Wol describe their sexuality? Happy pride Jun 2, 2022
What Raginmar is: Aroace.
How Raginmar describes it: He's never felt any compulsion or need for romantic love, and he's never felt any lesser for it. He loves, like he loves all those dearest to him, but that love need not be romantic. As for sex: he's just not interested at all.
As a bonus, here's the rest of the adventuring party:
Hyllizirn: panromantic demisexual
Kirika: likely a lesbian???*
L'vazha: gay
Canso: bisexual
Adricienne: token straight
Sasariku: demiromantic greyace
Branmirasch: a Mystery**
*Kirika is definitely a lesbian, only she's confused about it because Hyllizirn is her first relationship and she's wondering if she's attracted to women or just Hyllizirn. Then she meets Lucia :)
**Branmirasch is only a Mystery because I haven't figured her out yet (laughs)

WoL Question of the Day #18
I'm curious if your WOL were a custom delivery NPC what would you have to deliver to them <:3? Mar 13, 2022
Raginmar's custom delivery quests would involve the player following him around Eorzea as he makes things for people who need them. In Limsa Lominsa it'd be making fertilizer and soil conditioners for the farmers working to grow crops at Swiftperch. In Gridania, it'd be medicine for the ill and injured who, for some reason, the Conjurer's Guild refuse to heal. In Ul'dah, it'd be tents and living utilities for refugees unable to find a home in the city. In Ishgard, warm clothes and bedding for the poor.
At every point, the player will meet friends of his who are also helping out those in need — L'vazha in La Noscea, Sasariku in Gridania, Hyllizirn and Kirika in Ul'dah, Canso and Adricienne in Ishgard — who also expand on the difficulties regular people are facing on the daily.
The final leg of the questline has him going to Garlemald, where the player meets the unnamed Hrothgar, and is a bit unique whereby there would be an instanced duty where the player helps them protect Garlean citizens from tempered Imperial soldiers. For the final custom delivery, he asks you to help him make basic living necessities that encompass every item he's made during previous deliveries (fertilizers become cold-proof hydroponic planting kits) for the surviving Garleans so they can live a little more comfortably.
Raginmar's custom delivery questline essentially takes a look at the everyday struggles regular people in Hydaelyn face, especially in times of calamity and disaster, and what he does to help them in the small ways that can benefit them the most. It doesn't end with saving the world. Living takes more than just surviving death; his questline focuses on that. His bonus custom delivery items are simple but pretty ornaments and decorations to help cheer people up, because sometimes it's the little things that make you happy.
NPC Raginmar is basically still the same legendary war veteran that he is right now, only he's not as flashily involved with saving the world. He's more renowned as the guy on the ground who's quietly helping out everybody he meets when he can in a more present, practical way.

WoL Question of the Day #11
What would be your WoL's catchphrase when you select them in the Trust menu? Feb 21, 2022
EN: "Let's end this, shall we?" JP: 「さっさと終わらせよう」
On the scale of enthusiasm/volume he's somewhere between Urianger and Y'shtola. The man just wants to get it over with already.
Bonus:
Hyllizirn: "Time to show them what's what!" Kirika: "Don't get us all killed now!" L'vazha: "They won't know what hit them." Canso: "Shall we go?" Adricienne: "You have my aid!" Sasariku: "Let's not waste our time." Unnamed Hrothgar: "My, my — this will be fun!"
Canso's is specifically that little 「行こうか?」 that's just so very slightly threatening despite sounding cheery. If taken to Garlemald the cheeriness drops off entirely and he scares the shit out of everyone with that one line.
