Kasumi’s PT Outfit Analysis
Tell me what do these two have in common?
Tumblr media
If you said “Cat theme” you are correct! If not, well then buckle up my dudes cause this is gonna be fun~! :D (I also want to take the time to point out, while this isn’t want I’m talking about, I do like this fan artist’s perspective on her gloves :D)
I know what you’re thinking, and no I’m not smoking anything I don’t do that, but Kasumi really does have cat thief themed origins (and no not because of the fan art, didja click on it? it’s cute!). I realized it after realizing she was a gymnast and was like “Why? Why does she get a gymnast theme? How does this fit with the outlaw theme? Has there been a thief who had gymnast outfit?....wait....could it be.....omg it IS!” AND THE ANSWER IS YES! 4 thieves actually, 3 are sisters in one series, and 1 is an expy of those sisters by the same author in his other work. If you know who I’m talking about I’m talking about.....CAT’S EYE! (and Phantom Thief 305 from City Hunter, I dunno the meaning of the name tho)
Let’s start with Cat’s Eye (not a 100% expert in it, but I know more than City Hunter tbh). Cat’s Eye is about a trio of sisters (Hitomi the middle who is the main character, Rui the oldest sister, and Ai the youngest) stealing things using their multiple skill sets (such as gymnastics), partially because they want to contact their missing dad who is also a thief (and their attempts to contact him are through the calling cards and stealing the items in hopes he comes as well). And....that’s basically it I think (been awhile since I read the manga and I’m in the process of re-reading it now). Movie wise, it seems they are in the process of trying to rescue him (hard to find info, no eng subtitles for me to watch so efsljdfl;aj).
Anne and Kasumi are the biggest shout outs to Cat’s Eye than anyone else (tho you could argue Cat’s eye is probs the reason Makoto drives a Motorcycle and Futaba is an semi-orange themed tech genius, and Haru who is “Noir” tho I don’t feel like looking up who came first, her or the Cat’s Eye Pachinko machine cause it’s not important). Anne’s outfit is more a shout-out to the Cat’s Eye Movie version while Kasumi’s is more a shout-out to the original manga/anime. Let’s focus on the Cat’s Eye movie for a second tho.
This isn’t the first time Cat’s Eye movie was used as inspiration for Persona. Back in P2 Tamaki Uchida dressed as Ai (the youngest sister of Cat’s Eye, but is the lead role in the movie), as the actress she is based off of (Yuki Uchida) played Ai in the movie.
Tumblr media
Anne, however, seems to be based on Hitomi outfit with some Rui flare to it (they differ slightly)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(btw the movie opens up with an anime sequence before going full live action, Hitomi Left, Rui Right I think for both pics, Ai is in the middle for the bottom pic, and recolored Anne for better comparison and also because I can 8U)
I know what you are thinking, “But what about Catwoman????” I think she’s still related to Cat’s Eye tho. Catwoman came first in creation, and Catwoman was the first to use the leather outfits (tbh, mask wise, Tamaki’s mask/ears seem to draw from the Catwoman 60s tv show outfit), and it seems she/Batman were the inspiration for the movie costumes. Also considering how Persona likes to use Batman, I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of the cat theme stuff was also Batman/Catwoman related as well as Cat’s Eye. So there’s still a connection to Catwoman esp with the movie!
Another possible connection to the movie is Anne’s name, specifically “Anne,” as the person who went by the stage name “Anri/杏里” (I mean Anne is just the  杏 kanji but still) who sings the theme song “Cat’s Eye 2000″ for the movie. Fun fact.
Now let’s look at the manga/anime, where it’s Kasumi’s time to shine (tho Anne will come back up).
Tumblr media
As you can see they’ve been redesigned a few times (btw Hitomi’s colors in the first vol of Cat’s eye is actually blue with an orange ribbon, it was changed to yellow later it seems, also the top right is a spinoff manga of Cat’s Eye called Cat’s Eye: Ai where Ai is the MC)
As you can see, the girl who is mostly in the blue is Hitomi, and she has a tendency to wear a chocker with her leotard. Kinda like.......Kasumi!
Tumblr media
Recolored with blue to highlight the comparison (also because I NEED COLOR IN HER DESIGN ATLUS LORD GIVE ME STRENGTH DX)
Fun fact, Hitomi I believe is a gymnast and she utilizes her skills as a thief (and thus where we get the gymnast as a thief outlaw theme and why it only works for Kasumi/gymnasts and not runners like Ryuji).
But Kasumi also has similarities between her and Ai, both have red in their theme, both I think are first years. Also, while Ai isn’t as strong or skilled as her older sisters in fighting, she is the most agile (which we don’t know if Kasumi is in the same boat but it’s worth noting just in case). Another thing about Ai, is her connection to Tamaki up above, Tamaki who is based off the actress who played Ai was in the fencing club (which Yuki Uchida was also a fencer), and what weapon does Kasumi wield? A one handed sword similar to other fencers in Persona (like Mitsuru), so woot we’ve come full circle on that! (also if Kasumi is Hamuko reincarnated, or Hamuko’s younger sister, it should be noted that one of Hamuko’s theme colors is orange along with pink and red so fklsdjfsajf; bonus points if that comes true!)
Kasumi’s mask is also probably based on the Cat’s Eye calling card (or at least it follows a similar pattern):
Tumblr media
Same point pattern, same eye shape and design (it’d also explain why it’s so thick, cause the emblem is thick looking too 8U)
So I mentioned we’d come back to Anne, and here we are! There is one last thing that is similar to Anne and the Kisugi sisters, and it’s that they are all hafus! The sisters are all half german, and Hitomi looks just like her western grandmother if Hitomi had blonde hair, and later dyes her hair blonde for her thieving:
Tumblr media
Also *cough* a pink/red outfit I wonder who that reminds us of? 8U
Now onto City Hunter, which....I think is the biggest evidence that Kasumi was based off these people. And it’s this girl:
Tumblr media
The girl with the glasses is the same one as the girl in the same girl in the green leotard (the one in the red isn’t a thief, but was wearing one to match the other girl while they stole a flower).
This is the first episode this girl shows up (only one I’ve seen too tbh), she’s actually 17/a 2nd year iirc.... And guess what her name is? Kasumi Aso. Kasumi is spelled the same way too (aka only in hirigana)! From my research she only steals what is commissioned of her (I think she steals back what is stolen from other people). She has connection to flowers like Kasumi Yoshizawa (Aso is connected to the [black] tulip, Yoshizawa has flowers on her belt). Both are pretty unassuming in their civilian outfits too tbh. (tho slightly off topic, fun fact, there was a Japanese hafu rhythmic gymnast named Kasumi, I’ve been wanting to post about that for awhile but I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s who IRL Yoshizawa was based off of)
Sadly I don’t know much else about Aso, I need to read more of City Hunter to find out (even tho she’s not a super main character), and tbh this is where I kinda end with the Kasumi/Anne and Cat’s Eye/PT 305/Catwoman analysis. But I’ll use this time to talk about a few misc stuff and maybe a few theories related to cat themed thief ladies:
P5 probably got the “Thief who works at a cafe during the day (and the Cafe name also is a reference to their thieving as well as possibly housing a cat)” from Cat’s Eye and City hunter (which take place in Tokyo/Shinjuku, tho in different locations), as the Kisugi Sisters work at their cafe called “Cat’s Eye,” and Aso being their expy, also works at a cafe by the same name (tho it’s run by different people cause it’s in a different/parallel universe).
I wouldn’t be surprised if Tamaki’s tendency to house a Nekomata in her workplace to be similar to the kitty (Tiger I think it’s name is) that Ai has at the cafe (esp considering, again, Yuki Uchida played Ai).
According to the Japanese fan wiki of Cat’s Eye, in the sequel “Cat’s Eye: Ai,” the Cafe is moved to a new location, which is Kichijoji, which is the new area that has been unlocked in P5R (maybe a certain cafe will be available for us to wander into? :0 Or maybe Kasumi works at a cafe XP or maybe is connected to the billiards place, tho that DARTSLIVE3 screenshot seems to have a “cafe” poster in the background so maaaaaaaybe that’s a cafe XP)
Part of me wonders if Mitsuru’s Arena outfit is related more to Black Cat, due to the signature “white fur” both characters wear.
Kasumi Y’s hairstyle (aka if her hair was down, so basically we are going off her bangs) is similar to Hitomi (at least the Pachinko machine ver)
Anne’s circle zipper designs might be more of a shout-out to Marvel’s Black Cat, not that Catwoman hasn’t had that as well, but I don’t feel like figuring out who did the circle zipper first 8U
Satomi Tadashi dressed up as Zorro and was romantically involved with Takami. Anne who is a Cat’s Eye expy is crushed on by Mona (who wields Zorro). And Kasumi, another Cat’s Eye expy, looks like a Hamuko Expy, while Mona’s human form looks like a Minato Expy.
Kasumi has a similar black mask with silver line design (not the mask shape itself, the line design) as a woman named “Noir”(?) who appears in the Cat’s Eye Pachinko Machine (yes I did come across interesting things, no I don’t know what her deal is or really who she is tbh cause I think she’s a pachinko original 8U ;w;)
Tumblr media
So yeah just gonna kinda end it here awkwardly. FYI this doesn’t mean you HAVE to like her outfit (you have every right to dislike or like it tbh), it’s just a history lesson, and explaining how it fits the outlaw/PT theme, where’s Ryuji’s track or Haru’s ballet doesn’t.
Oh! Edit cause I forgot, if you push her mask up over head, it might look like cat’s ears, just a theory tho (of course it might look like devil horns but so does Anne’s so fklsjdfk;aj;faj;f take this for what you will):

Anime Update V2 6
Noragami - As we go along, I like how Yato’s dark past and his more unsettling, “eviler” side slowly comes more into view and gets Hitomi less sure she can really trust the guy. Even now when his old foe Bishamon has tracked him down and is out to kill him, it’s hard to see her as the bad guy here when Yato is apparently the one who’d wronged her first. Enjoyed seeing Kofuku again and how she’s got more power in her than we could’ve suspected, which key to driving Bishamon away this time. But Yato’s blight is only getting worse, and the one offering to help him with it is the oh-so trustworthy Nora...
Hunter x Hunter - Not comparing and contrasting this time ‘cause the events shown in both were pretty identitcal. With two notable differences. The 1999 version added a third character into the part where Kurapika and Leorio had to make a break from Hisoka (only for Leorio to return and try to fight Hisoka himself), and while I guess this is a character who will matter later on and this version wanted to establish him earlier, I didn’t quite see the need. The other most notable difference is that Hisoka seemed just a tad tamer in the 1999 version compared to the 2011 version. He’s intimidating in both, but in the first anime he’s presented like just another antagonist, while the second anime takes extra measures to make him seem scary as shit. The dub helps here, as Keith Silverstein captures the bellied, deviant madness of the character so perfectly, it gives me the creeps. I can tell that things have just gotten started between him and Gon.
Love Live! Nijigasaki - See. this was a little bit more like it. It still keeps to the same formula, but the character recieving the focus, Rina Tennoji, and the particular issue she has to learn to overcome were actually very original and held my interest. Love Live! has seen it’s share of ambiguously neurodivergent girls, but I don’t think we’d had one quite like Rina, who is so emotionally stunted that she has a very naturally inexpressive face, her blank expression frozen on it at almost all times, so even when she’s enjoying something it’s easy for others to get the wrong impression and assume she isn’t. Also, her song at the end was a total bop. Aside from Kasumi’s song and Setsuna’s songs, the Nijigasaki songs have tended to leave my head soon after hearing them, but this was the catchiest and most distinct sounding song out of this show to date. Keep this up please, girls!
Date A Live S3 - Brief tangent: I fucking hate the fanservicey harem anime bullshit that this show pulls whenever plot isn’t happening. There’s absolutely no reason why Natsumi has to go back into her adult form at random just for such scenes, especially since she’s still so precious and likable in her natural form and is now forging an adorable bond with Yoshino. But when the tone gets more serious, the show delivers. Origami’s Heel Turn to the side of DEM recieved more ellaboration; it feels like a Majin Vegeta situation where Origami could finally proccess how much Spirits had been normalized in her life and how she’d grown closer to Tohka and the others as friends, and that scared her. So she took Westcott’s offer so she have some sort of “permission” to return to the person she was at the start, with the focus on her vengeful mission to avenge her parents and kill all Spirits, even those who were her friends. Seeing her fighting Tohka, Miyu, and the Yamai sisters with the intent to kill, and leaving Shido tied up and unable to do anything, was horrific. And the deeper story around DEM and Ratatoskyr is slowly coming out more as well.
Fate/Stay Night - Shirou and Rin are now on-and-off allies, deciding to a truce while in school and looking for any suspicious activity from Rider and her master, who is revealed to Shirou to be his old pal Shinji at the very end of the episode. Other than that, can’t say that much about this one except that I do like the scenes with Shirou and Rin hanging out and sharing ideas and info with each other. Though I also feel sorry for Sakura - between Saber and Rin, I think she’s starting to get the wrong idea and feel left out. And her brother sucks.
Revolutionary Girl Utena - Felt a bit underwhelmed by this one, for even though I do find Juri to be a cool character and enjoyed the fight between her and Utena at the end, I already knew what the episode’s last minute twist was going to be, and I feel like even if I didn’t know ahead of time, I’d still be able to predict it. I guess that’s the downside to being all too aware of Ikuhara and Igarashi’s trends.
Sound! Euphonium S2 - Speaking of secret gay girl love that I knew was coming, this episode seemed to bring us to the climax of the Nozomi and Mizore subplot that has been running through the early parts of this season. Just the simple act of dropping by the band room and saying hi to Mizore, when done by Nozomi, is enough to make Mizore feel nauseuous and send her fleeing down the halls. Feel bad for Yuuko, though, as she’s been Mizore’s close friend through all this time and clearly feels underappreciated for it, but at least she’s still got Natsuki to lean on! Poor Mizore had no one else until now, as Nozomi finally clears up the misunderstanding that failing to tell Mizore about leaving the band before means that she doesn’t care about her. The two now finally begin to reconcile.
MAR - Met this ugly Santa hat-wearing dog named Edward, learned about the captive Princess Snow (who looks just like Ginta’s friend from home for whatever reason) and that some sus stuff is going down in the capitol kingdom of MAR with the new queen and the Chess Pieces, and at the end Ginta is facing off against one of the Chess Pieces named Ian, who I can recognize as being voiced by Nolan North but he sounds so much like James Patrick Stuart as Xigbar at points. But the true highlight of the episode was the return of Dorothy! God, I love this sneaky, thieving, opportunistic little witch so much, and seeing her unleashe Toto for the first time was great!
AMC: Kill la Kill - Y’know how this show is so good at just going all out bals-to-the-walls with stupid concepts and cartoonishness that it becomes awesome? Well on very rare occasion, it can just be so stupid that it’s just stupid. Which isn’t to say the episode wasn’t fun - most of it worked, and Nonon Jakazure is delightfully batshit in it. But everything have to do with Tsumugu fell flat for me. A Punisher-style lone vigilante sniper out to hunt down and kill all clothing because he saw one Kamui suit betray and killed its wearer one time just isn’t something that’s going to engage me. Even camp can have its limits.
AND
Weathering With You - Got to see this movie for the first time, and I really enjoyed it....for the first two thirds. From Hina’s insultingly abrupt disappearance all the way to the ending, it then sort of lost me, as aside from the breathtakingly beautiful climactic sequence inside the oceanic sky dimension, I feel like it just lost the plot and the choices that the main characters end up making (which to its credit, the film doesn’t pussy out of showing us the consequences of and goes all the way with it) are selfish, short-sighted, unethical and utterly repugnant in how destructive they were. I feel like Makoto Shinkai’s typical formula just pushed itself too far this time, especially combined with his desire to one-up Your Name, which this film just wasn’t quite as good as. The core reason for that would be Hodoka and Hina’s bond VS Taki and Mitsuha’s - the latter literally lived each other’s lives at various points, and built up a strong, special connection that trascended time itself (that whole closed time loop with the hair ribbon still sticks out in my memory). With this pair, Hodoka only knows Hina for a few weeks in a single Summer, much of it shown via montage, and while I’m sold on that bond being there, I’m NOT sold on it being so powerful and so meaningful to Hodoka that he would condemn all of Tokyo and God knows how many lives (Taki and Mitsuha included!) to suffer an endless rain storm and flooding just so he could have this one person back with him. Going for this “don’t sacrifice everything for the sake of others, live for yourself!” message does not work when what you’re asking this girl to do is something that will literally sacrifice everyone and everything else just for her sake. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one, asshole! So yeah, were it up to me, Hodoka would still be in jail by the end. But hey, at least Hina’s OK. I did like her quite a lot.

Honoka
So I must be out of the loop or something but WHY is it such an issue if Honoka is Ayane and Kasumi's half sister? Raidou raped Ayame, I'm sure between his time banished and the events of Doa1 he may have raped another poor soul leading to Honoka. People are just setting themselves up for failure since she can
A. Mimic moves just by looking at them like Raidou
B.Has the same red aura Raidou has shown in the past and especially now as a Cyborg.
Is it really that questionable if a horrible despicable rapist did the same thing to another poor woman? Honestly Honoka being related to the Ninja is the only logical explanation and would be better than if she just had random powers. It would also be a better connection so it's not just Hitomi connecting the ninjas to other characters so the story isn't so isolated

[translation and lyrics] Sign of justice by Iron Attack!
youtube
They uploaded this a while ago and also jumped in on that fad of releasing dual albums where one is one color/theme and the other one contrasts it, though I’d say both albums (Blue Faith and Red Justice) sound about the same. I fucking love Iron Attack but they really do always sound about the same lol, it’s just that every once in a while they’ll hit a home run somehow, plus their vocals are always amazing. Also always thought my first iron attack post would be “top 3 most racist iron attack kancolle songs” but I guess we’re going with this instead. Anyway, lyrics down below, see you next time.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
karitateta shoudou no saki kiba wo muku honnou ga sakebi ageru

Dead or Alive gets constant hate and slander thrown its way.  Men even try to convince women of how ‘sexist’ it is. But is it really? Let’s look at this for a second.  The story is all women led.  The winners of the tournaments are typically always women in the story.  The character growth is all on the women side outside of maybe 4 guys of the roster, and all 4 of those are recent additions.  The game itself is mostly centered around Ayane and Kasumi themselves and their family. But it has breast physics!  Men proclaim. Oh, you mean actually trying to create and fine tune accurate physics for women in a video game?  While also having leather pants on males so tight you could bounce quarters off of them? But it has bikinis! You mean like Tekken does? And Street Fighter? And every other fighting game on the planet that also includes some joke costumes and random costumes?* Speaking of street fighter, who are the lead two characters over there for nearly all of the story?  Ryu and Ken.  (Love ya Capcom, but I’m more of a Rival Schools fan.)  And it has breast animations too, hand drawn ones at that before the 3D era.  Same to SNK.  Though Mai Shiranui is a fighting game goddess in her own right that paved the way for much of what Dead Or Alive handles in its story. And then there’s Tekken.  The much beloved Tekken since Tekken 3 on Playstation 1 had the cute little dinosaur Gon in it.  A game that’s constantly playing catch up to Dead or Alive graphics and arenas(seriously though Namco, Tekken still hasn’t even reached DOA3 XBOX level graphics yet, get on that!).  For the arenas, they’re idea of progression was to lift ideas from Dead or Alive even.  They added destructable obstructions, and more, but sparsely interwoven in the game as opposed to DOA’s more organic transitioning usages.  A random tree here, a random telephone booth there, as opposed to Dead or Alive’s full on construction of a skyscraper, and the highways below,  Every arena transition in DOA is organic to the locale its in.  Borderline a full neighborhood and park designed for a diner that a fighter works at and busy cities.  It has intricate buildings and architecture, cruise liners, and much much more.  It even goes so far as to include an oasis with local wildlife, or a full circus floor with interactive materials that would naturally be there. Then there’s Tekken, with bland square arenas, maybe some floor breaking, and minimal objects in the arena anymore.  Tekken that follows three generations of men as they battle over a company and backstab each other, and murder off their children’s mothers as plot devices so the son can seek revenge.  They literally fridge the male lead characters’ mothers to give them their story arc. Dead or Alive is about women retaking their dignity.  It’s about elitism, and oppression.  It deals with heavy handed topics like Ayane being the child of one of the Ninja village royalty from rape, so Ayane was shunned and exiled to out of sight by her parents and mistreated by this village and her own family(except for her half brother and half sister!).  It contains stories of triumph, of picking up legacies from your parents like Hitomi in trying to make her father proud in how far she’s come in her martial arts training.  It shows a sister, Kasumi, seeking out her brother who may have been kidnapped, or seeking out revenge for his near death experience at the hands of someone else, even sacrificing her ability to ever come home to her village, where her parents are, to do so.  It shows a woman stepping up into the shoes of her father with Helena Douglas taking over her dad’s company and turning it into a potential force for good.  It shows that women can be assassins too with Christie and potentially Marie Rose.  It shows a bumbling wrestling father trying to look out for his daughter Tina, but she can hold her own and goes farther in the tournament than he.  It shows Tina trying to freely live her life while her dad’s overprotective nature is played for comedy because he keeps trying to restrict her and fails. The women stand full forward and star in Dead or Alive. Tekken tries.  It pushes more on Nina and Anna among others.  And it’s trying to evolve still, but by the very nature of the game’s design it will always lean on those lead male characters that murdered each other’s mothers. But which game is the one that actually gets hated on for treatment of women? The one that sends its characters on a beach volleyball vacation because of everything they’ve been through and doesn’t allow any male watchers on the island with them so they don’t feel self-conscious about a vacation they are supposed to be able to relax on. Which one will male gamers constantly berate as sexist and bad for women? The one that fridges every male lead’s mother? Or the one that lets women tell their stories, triumphs, and what they have fun doing while wearing whatever they damn well please? Dead or Alive actually shows strong, compassionate, fully rounded women and their emotions and capabilities. That they aren’t limited by anything they wear that’s designed around the personality of the character itself’s tastes.  Every character shines and stands out.  None of them are there simply as background filler to complete check boxes on a chart to cover every niche so no one but the main 3 men get any real story coverage. This being said.  Enjoy the fighting games you love, but stay aware of which ones do contain actual problematic material.  I enjoy Dead or Alive, I enjoy Street Fighter, I enjoy Rival Schools(Capcom! Make a third game already!), I enjoy Tekken, Fatal Fury, and even Skull girls.  And remember that when males point out how bad a game is, ask yourself what about it is their real complaint. Should a physics engine that tries to do the anatomy of women justice really count as a drawback for why it’s “anti-women?”  A game that’s newest incarnations even tried to show that yes even women sweat? *comedy costumes not withstanding.  Those are supposed to be completely random and both Tekken and DOA have equal amounts of the same content in that regard.

Increased Bounciness
As in the previous Dead Or Alive games, you mayenter your age as “99” by going into your profilefrom the main menu. This will result in the femalecharacters’ breasts to bounce more than usual.
Combat Strategy: Patterns
Whether against the CPU or online opponents, recognizing patterns does a lot for you. Onlineplayers tend to fall in love with specific combos, which can be thwarted at the beginning by beatingthem to the punch (or kick as the case may be), orcountered at the end with a reversal since thelast move can usually be predicted. The reverse is true as well, especially online.Make sure you mix things up as much as possible.Remember, many combos start out the same but canend very differently. Try to make sure you changeup not only your combos, but the ends of eachcombo to keep your enemy on their toes.
Combat Strategy: Separate Entities
More than in the series’ past, each fighter offerstheir own unique style. Do not think that justbecause you are dominant with Bayman that you willfind equal success with Bass (or Spartan-458, forthat matter). Treat each character as separateentities and you will find more success.
Jann Lee: Easy Win
When fighting as Jann Lee, there is a way to goover the edge and become a killing machine. To doso in every match, follow this sequence and breakit into separate parts. First, you want to atleast try to land a critical punch or kick to theenemy mainly in their head. If not accomplished, make use of quick countering or blocking to land anice firm blow. Afterwards when your enemy is hitoff balance for a few seconds, keep throwingrandom critical blows to the head region mainly, and mix it up slightly to the body and legs. Ifyou can do this and include fast combos in betweenyour rhythm, you should be able to keep the enemyoff the ground desperate for making successfulblows. You should be able to do this techniquewith simple combos easily. Make sure that yourrhythm is broken, meaning attack at differenttimes without staying in a similar pattern andkeeping your blows mostly critical. If you can dothis much, you should also be able to switch it upwith fast combos making it almost impossible foryour opponent to counter. Remember to executecritical blows to the head mainly, mixed with fastcombos and quick blows to the body. Keep yourrhythm broken so it is impossible to counter (norepetition or repeating the speed of blows), andmake sure to keep your guard up. Do not allow theenemy to hit you unexpectedly, or they may confuseyou with the same trick. Try to at least counterwhen you lose balance in the match or the winningstreak may turn on you.

Crunchyroll Presents English-Subtitled "Dies Irae" Trailer
In 2015, award-winning visual novel series Dies irae blew the lid off of a crowdfunding campaign from creators Light that aimed to raise 30 million yen ($250,000) for a pilot, but ended up ultimately raising 300% of its goal. This fall, that anime becomes a reality and Crunchyroll is ready with an English-subtitled preview of the production.
youtube
Check out the official trailer of Dies irae! Ren Fujii is a normal student who just had a fistfight with his former best friend, leading him to break off their friendship. But with the help of his childhood friend, Kasumi Ayase, and upperclassman, Rea Himuro, he's gradually returning to his normal school life.  Then a series of brutal murders in which the victims are decapitated begins to strike their city. Strangely, at the same time, Ren starts to have terrifying nightmares of being beheaded by a guillotine. But these are just a prelude to the painful and terrifying battles to come.  Their daily life has turned inside-out. Supermen are lurking in the darkness. The town has become a battlefield as Ren is consumed by insane happenings beyond his imagination. Faced with the reality that he cannot survive unless he fights, will he be able to retake his normal life?

To them, the countless lives lost in the battle are the perfect sacrifice to fuel their spell. After the war, they vanish and are not heard from again, except in rumor. One day, it is whispered, they will return. And on that day, the world will end. Fear the demons in human form. Fear the Longinus Dreizehn Orden. Flash forward to present-day Japan. Fujii Ren is released from the hospital after two months spent recovering from wounds suffered in a vicious brawl with his best friend Shiro. As Christmas approaches, he tries to rebuild his life, clinging to what brilliance remains. But even that is soon threatened. For the knights of the LDO have returned, and brought the apocalypse to his doorstep. Forced to wield the same unholy power as his foes, will Ren be able to protect what is dear to him from the inhuman might of the Longinus Dreizehn Orden?
