Secret Relationship “covert” flirting
So because the last post I looked at featured something about goats, I had to incorporate Goat Yoga into this ficlet. It’s set after Sherlock’s return in TRF. Hope you like it! (P.S. Not sure how Salstrade managed to sneak in there, esp. since Sally’s yoga partner was originally Anderson, but there you have it.)
“Is he...is he...flirting with her?”
“He who?” Greg craned his neck to see what Sally was talking about, grunting a bit as the goat on his back shifted its weight to his shoulders.
“The freak,” Sally said, nodding toward Sherlock, although there was no real rancor in her voice. The two of them had come to a tentative detante in their verbal sparring since his return from the dead, but sometimes he still managed to get her go...uh, to piss her the hell off.
Like right now. He was currently lying half underneath Molly Hooper, her back arched and both hands and feet planted on the yoga mat in the classic “Downward Facing Dog” position above him. Her face was only inches from Sherlock’s, and something he’d said made her face flush red.
“Nah,” Greg said dismissively after studying the scene for a moment. “He’s just pissed her off, look, she’s hiss-yelling something at him. I think it’s the goat,” he added as his own goat stepped nimbly off his back and ambled over to nudge Sally in the shoulder. “The one chewing on the corner of Sherlock’s mat. Must have dragged him under her or something.”
Sally snorted. “Poor Molly, then. At least he isn’t actually flirting with her, getting her hopes up after being such a dick to her all these years.”
“Even if he were,” Greg pointed out as he grunted himeself into a human pretzel doing some pose Sally couldn’t immediately identify - which, incidentally, showed off exactly how amazingly bendy the Boss was, “we are at a couple’s ‘Goat Yoga’ retreat, posing as married couples so we can find out--”
“How the owner is smuggling his drugs into the UK, yes,” Sally interrupted hastily, doing her level best to get her mind back on the case and off of, well, Greg’s bendiness. “Back to work.” She lay flat on the mat and easily moved into the basic Plough position. If her arse was, incidentally, right in front of Greg’s eyes and thus showing off how taut and sleek it was, well, that was just how it happened to work out.
“Look at them,” Molly whispered, nodding over at Lestrade and Donovan, working as partners several rows away. “Getting into the whole fake married couple thing, aren’t they? Look like they’re proper flirting over there!”
“As long as it keeps them from noticing that we’re not faking it here,” Sherlock mumbled in response as he ogled Molly’s cleavage from his continued position half underneath her. When she glared down at him, he gestured smugly at the goat that had taken position on his mid-section, settling itself into position for what looked like a nice, long, nap, legs folded beneath it and head on his chest. “Sorry, can’t move - and, oops! Now you can’t either!” he continued brightly as another goat nimbly hopped up onto her raised derriere. He smirked up at her. “Guess we’re stuck with each other, Molly Hooper!”
“Guess we are,” she grumbled - but with a fond smile on her lips. “Guess we are.”

Friends To Lovers, Finally (Sherlock; Lestrade x Sally)
This is a mod gift for @mizjoely with the pairing Lestrade/Sally. It’s an explicit fic so part of it is here and the rest is up at AO3.
Friends To Lovers, Finally - Greg reflects on the night before with Sally before trying to make her breakfast in bed.
He stared down at the woman sleeping next to him. Never in his wildest dreams would he have imagined she fancied him. But as soon as she got her promotion and he was no longer her superior, she’d started flirting. And he had been flattered but he had brushed it off.
At least until last night. No alcohol had been involved, really, except about half a pint each. But it had been a conversation at the pub while they were celebrating a colleague’s birthday that had changed everything.
“You do realize I’ve been flirting with you for months now, right? I’m about to give up so we can go back to just friends because you’re obviously not interested.”
“I didn’t think you were serious, Sally. I mean, I’m...me. And you’re you. And you deserve better than an old man like me.”
“I know what I want, Greg. And what I want is you. But just say the word and I’ll stop flirting and we can just be friends if that’s what you want.”
“What if that isn’t what I want at all?”
“Then what do you want?”
“A chance to make up for ignoring all the flirting.”
The grin on her face had been so wide, she’d been beaming. There hadn’t been a kiss just then, though he could have given her one, but they’d decided then to go back to his place and have a more private conversation. They’d sat close to each other in the cab since neither had brought their own cars to the pub, and she reached over to hold his hand and play with his fingers and he was filled with a warmth he hadn’t felt in a long time.
Then they got to his place and went inside, sitting on the sofa and just talking for a bit. Oh, it wasn’t as though they hadn’t done that in the past, but it was different this time. This time he had the feeling it would lead to something more intimate. And when she kissed him, softly, hesitantly, he knew he was right. When he had kissed her back he hadn’t expected more than a bit of heavy petting and snogging on the sofa, but soon they both got hot and bothered. When she moved her lips to his neck, teasing him, he knew he wouldn’t care in the morning if there was a mark.
He hadn’t felt like this since the heady days of his relationship with his wife, but in this case, it was better, as he and Sally had been friends for ages and they were coming from that place with each other. He knew so much about her, and vice versa, and it made the bond tighter, the connection better. He remembered unbuttoning Sally’s shirt to reveal her brassiere and was amazing at how gorgeous she looked, half-dressed, breathing heavily with a sexy smirk on her face.

I whipped up this oh-so-fancy banner to add a post in my links list of my Sherlock WIPs so that I can cross them off when I finish them without having to take AO3s word I have 60+ WIPs when I get a few of them showing up multiple times in the search engine. This is the year I finish these fuckers if it kills me. If you want any of these updated, just send me one ask per fic so I can reply with the new chapter!
...And All The Men And Women Merely Players (Sherlock; Sherlock/Molly, Mycroft/Lestrade, Moriarty/Eurus) - Mycroft Holmes is not-so-subtly trying to make sure there's a reconciliation between his youngest sibling Sherlock and his ex-wife, Molly Hooper, by forcing them to work together on a theatre project. But it isn't all smooth sailing when his and Sherlock's sister comes back from the States with a boyfriend who is the devil incarnate...and all hell is about to break loose.
A Heartbreaking Loss (Sherlock; Sherlock/Molly) - One moment Sherlock and John are in a cab on their way to a case. The next moment, Sherlock's world is flipped upside down with more than he can handle, and he slips to means of coping that are not the best. But those who know him best, especially his wife, stay by his side as he struggles to fill the gap in his heart and heal himself, physically and mentally.
A Study In Pink (Sherlock; Sherlock/Mary) - Rosamund Mary Watson had never expected to set foot in London again, but she finds herself in need of employment and a better flat. Enter her old professor Mike Stamford, who tells her about the man who will change her life forever...
All The Little Signs (Sherlock; Sherlock/Molly, John/Mary) - The repercussions from Sherlock’s faked death did more than just affect his relationships with his friends, Sherlock realizes when Molly loses her position at St. Bart’s for falsifying medical documents and loses her fiancé in the process. While Molly gets her life sorted out and decides what she wants Sherlock does the same, but is it too late when he decides what he wants in his life is Molly?
Any Press Is (Supposedly) Good Press (Sherlock; Sherlock/Molly) - Sherlock Holmes is having to rebuild his life in a number of ways from an unfortunate overdose while he was trying to break away from the image he'd crafted since he was a child. His best friend Molly has an idea: to gain some freedom, they can pretend to date for the duration of December. Maybe longer, if the plan works. And Sherlock is more than happy to go along with it...at first. Until feelings start to develop between them. Until his past comes back into his life. Until he has an abundance of tough choices to make.Until his very life depends on making the right decision, this time.
As Long As You Love Me Truly (Sherlock; Sherlock/Molly) - All Molly Hooper wants to do is get her big break on the London stage. She might have a chance when she's asked to be the lead in one of the most anticipated productions on the West End, and by the star himself, Sherlock Holmes. But things don't exactly go according to the plan she had in her head of how she would become a well known actress, and as time goes on she needs to figure out whether she wants fame or whether she wants something more fulfilling.
Been Around A Few Times, All That's Missing Is You (Sherlock; Sherlock/Molly, John/Mary) - Molly Hooper is a rising star in the musical crowd, having gotten Grammy nominations for music on her debut album. But Molly is keeping what could be a career-ending secret...and perhaps relationship ending as well.
Children Of Light, Children Of Dark (Sherlock; Sherlock/Molly, John/Mary) - There are a series of murders going on that have a pattern, and Sherlock sees glimpses of it but can’t fathom it completely. But Molly realizes it’s reminiscent of an unsolved case her mentor had told her about, where the murders were based on a series of fantasy novels that Molly herself adores. Sherlock asks her to use her knowledge as a pathologist and a fan of the series to help him figure out both sets of murders, and in the process Molly gets quite a bit more than she bargained for.
Desperate Times Call For Desperate Measures (Sherlock; Sherlock/Molly, Mycroft/Anthea) - It all begins with an invitation to Mycroft's wedding to his PA and seven days at a resort in Jamaica, with the assumption that Molly pretends to be his girlfriend that his mother might be under the impression that he's going to propose to sooner rather than later. It ends up being so much more than that...
Feared Never To Be Seen Again (Sherlock; Sherlock/Molly) - On her way to a conference in Scotland, a malfunction with the chartered plane Molly is on causes it to crash in an uninhabited area of England with no way of communicating with anyone to get help for herself and the others who were injured. A series of heavy storms in the area make it hard to search for the plane, leading many to believe they may not have survived. But both Molly and Sherlock have ideas quite to the contrary...
Getting To Know The Neighbour (Sherlock; Sherlock/Molly) - When Sherlock returns to Oxford after the death of his parents his neighbour introduces herself, and he feels a connection to her. As he navigates the life his father had expected for him, the life he was sure he never wanted, he has to decide if it’s what he really wants, or if it’s something he can walk away from again…this time, maybe, with someone he loves by his side.
In Dreams, There Is A Kernel Of Truth (Sherlock; Sherlock/Molly) - Sherlock has lived an entire section of his life while in a coma after being shot by Mary. When he wakes up, he vows to use the knowledge from that dream, knowing there is truth to the types of dreams he has, to change events of the future for the better.
In The Name Of Love (Sherlock; Sherlock/Molly, Trevor/OMC, Irene/Janine, Mycroft/Lestrade) - In a world where soulmates have fingernails whose colours match the colour of their soulmate's hair, Sherlock wonders what his rainbow coloured nails mean. But it's at the back of his mind as he and Victor decide to find their brother's soulmate once and for all. Meanwhile, Molly is jealous that Irene has moved on, but when her ex-girlfriend's new girlfriend is actually more than sweet and asks for a favour, Molly can't find it in her heart to say no, leaving her with a head full of rainbow locks. Both Sherlock and Molly feel they have no hope of finding their soulmates, or that they even need them, to be quite honest, but after one day of celebration in London, both will believe that maybe there's something to be said for love after all.
It Can Be As Real As You Or I (Sherlock; Sherlock/Molly) - At the very beginning of a case to help Janine, it comes out that the very eligible and spectacular stud in the bedroom Sherlock Holmes has married local specialist registrar, Dr. Molly Hooper. Which would be fine and all, except it's a fake marriage. That Sherlock wants to make real by the end of the case. But Kitty Riley's constant hounding of him throughout the case, turning every tidbit she hears (always out of context) into tabloid fodder, is going to make that virtually impossible, he fears...though he might very well be surprised himself.
It Happened One Summer (Sherlock; Sherlock/Molly) - After her engagement ends and Molly becomes a bit depressed, one of her professors recommends she spend the summer working as a camp counselor at Pali Adventures, a sleepaway camp in the Pacific Palisades. She’s hoping for a summer that changes her outlook on the world, but she doesn’t expect a summer that changes her whole life.
It Takes The Whole Of London (Sherlock; Molly-centric) - When one of Molly's best friends and her husband die in a car accident, Molly finds herself the guardian of their six-month-old daughter, and in an instant her entire life changes, and she comes to find solace in the fact that there is truth in the old adage "it takes a village" when she finds herself raising Maya on her own.
Love And Anarchy (Sherlock; Sherlock/Molly) - Molly grew up appreciating the punk subculture and everything it stood for, embracing most aspects of it and adopting them for her own. Sherlock...did not. When the two of them are neighbors they find, at least at first, that the cultural divide in their upbringing might be too much of a bridge to cross. But slowly, they discover that they have some fundamental things in common and, over time, the friendship that develops blossoms into something more.
Nothing's Changed That Matters (Sherlock; Sherlock/Molly) - When Sherlock comes to Molly in Oxford ten years after their divorce with a favour to ask, she agrees to help. While a lot has changed some things remain very much the same...including the love that Sherlock and Molly once shared.
Of Floral Arrangements, Tattoos and Brotherly Reconciliation (Sherlock; Mycroft/Lestrade, Sherlock/John, Sally/Molly) - For years, the Holmes brothers have owned shops next door to each other, and for years, there's been a rift between them. No one except their sister knows why but now, after Mycroft agrees to marry his long-time love Gregory, their employees and friends conspire to mend that breach between them...for better or for worse.
Pawns On The Board, Flies On The Web (Sherlock; Sherlock/Molly, Mycroft/Anthea, John/Mary, minor Tom/Molly) - When an American politician is murdered and deposited in Mycroft’s office, it’s Sebastian Moran’s sign that he is done allowing Mycroft and Sherlock their little game at dismantling Moriarty’s organization. But with Sherlock having returned to London, albeit not in time to stop the plot from being put into motion, Moran’s ploy may not be as effective as he hopes it to be, not with Mycroft, Sherlock, Anthea, Molly and others working hard to stop him in his tracks.
Rectifying Past Mistakes (Sherlock; Sherlock/Mary) - When Mycroft gets Sherlock out of Serbia, he drops a bombshell on him he isn't quite prepared for: after years of being gone out of his life, Sherlock's ex-wife Elizabeth has reappeared, under the name Mary Morstan. While he was off taking care of Moriarty's mess she was protecting those he cared about and helping his brother, for reasons, he finds, that she is keeping close to the vest. But when they're forced to stay in close quarters at Baker Street both secrets and old wounds come to light and, perhaps, things might turn out for the best after all.
The Cursed Dragon (Sherlock; Moran/Molly) - On the eve of Princess Molly's twenty-fifth birthday, a dragon comes to lay waste to her kingdom. Eventually, a lottery is set up to give the dragon a virgin sacrifice, but when Molly stumbles onto a wicked scheme by the royal advisor Magnussen, she finds herself picked as the next sacrifice and kept from telling the truth to her mother. Prepared to fight the dragon on her own if need be, she is taken to a remote part of her kingdom by the dragon...who is not quite what he seems.
The Greatest Prank Of The Millennia (And What It Wrought) (Sherlock; Sherlock/Molly, John/Mary) - When Molly finds herself paired with school outcast Sherlock to be in charge of the senior prank, she finds herself drawn to him despite all the problems it's bound to cause. But when push comes to shove, will she stay by his side or leave him be?
The Presence (Sherlock; Sherlock/Molly) - Since Sherlock has constructed his mind palace as a young child, there has been a presence there, a female who loves him but who he swears he's never met. As he grows older, this presence comforts him, protects him and, eventually, becomes so much more.
The Science Behind It All (Sherlock; Sherlock/Molly) - Sherlock despises school, despises his teachers and his classmates, or at least most of them. There's one teacher who is actually quite important to him. When a new student comes to class she also becomes important to him, and he realizes that, perhaps, he can muddle through the rest of his adolescence with them by his side.
The Sweetest Music (Sherlock; Sherlock/Molly) - It seems as though in one fell swoop everything Molly Hooper knows is taken away from her: her education, her mother, her home. She tries to lose herself in her music but finds it harder than ever before. But perhaps all is not lost, as her new life provides her more than she ever expected.
To Throw Away The Map (Sherlock; Sherlock/Molly, John/Mary) - Six months after the events on the plane, Sherlock is trying to make a fresh start. He has to renew friendships, rebuild his career and try his best to keep his life together when the first case he’s allowed to work again ties directly into the Moriarty conspiracy. But with those he holds close near and willing to support him, with one person in particular being extremely supportive, perhaps he will be able to make it after all.
What Could Have Been, What Will Be In Its Stead (Sherlock; Mycroft/Molly) - When Sherlock dies, he leaves behind a woman he planned to marry and a child he did not know about. Mycroft is determined to take care of them both in his brother's stead, but nothing is ever as easy as one plans. That is the true Holmes legacy.
What Started As Petty Revenge (Sherlock; Lestrade/Sally) - When Lestrade is invited to the wedding of a friend who is a mutual friend of his ex-wife, Sally agrees to go as his girlfriend for the three days of festivities in Dover as a bit of petty revenge against his ex. But it doesn't turn out quite as planned when true feelings from all involved come to the surface and Lestrade needs to make some decisions about who he wants in his life and in what way he wants them in it.

Sally is a caffeine addict. Lestrade jokes about how it's time to invest in an espresso machine at the Yard, but Sally looks so eager for one he buys a small desktop one as a gift when she makes DI herself and has her own office at the Yard. She might have made him a coffee drink every morning since as repayment.

#7 for Sherlolly please: You’ve gone to the bathroom fifty times today.
#7, from this drabble list! Feel free to send me some!
“You’re not subtle you know,” Greg says, taking a sip of his beer.
“Don’t know what you mean.”
“You’ve ‘gone to the bathroom’ fifty times already,” Sally, sat beside him, says. Lestrade smiles into his drink, his hand underneath the tablecloth smoothing over her thigh.
She gives nothing away as he strokes his thumb in little circles over her skin. Could play poker with the gods, she could. If she wanted.
Over at the dancefloor, some cougar woman is dancing the night away with a young bloke she can’t stop grinning at, while the bride is slumped against the groom’s chest, the two of them in their own world.
“And you can’t stop looking at your phone,” Greg adds.
Sherlock idly swirls the wine in his glass. “She is her own woman.”
“I swear to God, it’s just a pathology conference.”
“She was nervous about her speech, I gave her some last-minute encouragement.”
“So you admit you’ve been checking up on her?” Sally asks, her eyes slyly flicking towards the hall’s entrance. Sherlock doesn’t notice, wrapped so tightly in the fact his girlfriend’s had to go to a conference as he is.
“I haven’t been—”
“Missed the food then, did I?”
Sherlock is straight up on his feet, turning to face Molly, stood behind him. She doesn’t have a chance to say hello further before he’s kissing her, dragging her out of the main and upstairs.
Greg stares at them, seeing their distant figures at the top of the stairs kiss again. He looks away when Sherlock tugs Molly closer, staring into the bottom of his glass. He doesn’t want to even register the fact that Sherlock touches bums, not even if that bottom belongs to Molly.
“Remember when I once said Sherlock could do with a woman?”
Sally laughs.

For real though, Salstrade is low key my OTP. Like, I ship it so hard. I miss Sally so much.
I never met a -strade ship I didn’t like (though I prefer the thought of Salstrade when she’s out of his chain of command) but apart from that we just deserved a lot more Sally! So gutted we didn’t get the planned scene(s) in S4.

I'm gonna be cleaning my house this weekend, which really means I will be looking for distractions from cleaning my house this weekend. Prompt me? :p I think some prompt lists I've been interested in are tagged "writing woes" but don't limit yourself. I'm taking any sort of prompt. Anything. Go crazy. Check out tags for pairings I'm willing to write, but again, not limited.

okay but imagine Greg falling asleep on his desk whilst he's trying to do paperwork for a recently finished case and Sally and Sherlock are arguing outside and storm into his office-- "Lestrade-! I demand you tell Donovan--" "Greg, he's being a bloody--" and then they notice him asleep, hair all ruffled, paperwork all over the desk and pen still in his hand and they both sort of. stop. and look at him. and look at eachother and nod a little and Sherlock softly lifts Greg off the desk so he's sat up and leaning on Sherlock's stomach and sally sweeps all the paperwork into a file and sticks it in her bag and gets gregs coat and stuff and sherlock carefully lifts him to his feet and quietly murmurs to him when he startles awake "It's okay; we're taking you home." Sherlock sits in the back of the car with Greg's head in his lap and Sally slowly and carefully drives them back to Gregs and they double-team to get greg in his jammies and into bed as softly as they can and then sally climbs into bed infront of greg and kisses his forehead and sherlock climbs in behind greg and nuzzles his neck and they fall asleep cuddled up together

🐜 - freaking cause there’s a bug pls deal with it im not touching it (For Sherlolly please?)
Of course, Captain! So couldn't really see them as adults having this issue because they're both major nerds and probably find insects fascinating one way or another. But kidlock on the other hand could be interesting. Hope you like this little thing. If anyone would like to send me another for any pairings please do. List is here. --Sherlock Holmes of course had his own pet tarantula. This shouldn't have been too surprising considering he liked to collect really scary things compared to all the other boys she had grown up with. However this was the first time young Molly Hooper had ever come across one of this size. He had just been showing off Billy as he kept affectionately calling it to everyone. Some girls would shrink away, Sally Donovan found that amusing but made no moves to interact with Billy and the young Holmes himself. She had often called him a freak. Molly had been too preoccupied with her small tabby who wanted to look at everything to pay much attention beyond the great spectacle of him introducing the spider to everyone when he had come in that morning. When recess rolled around Molly had opted to sitting under the shaded tree since it was a bit too hot for Toby - her cat - and she didn't really feel up to playing today. It wasn't until Toby started to climb her that she had any idea that something was wrong. As Greg soon pointed out as he and Sally were making their rounds the small circle if the sandbox that was nearby that Billy had taken a liken to her. Molly couldn't move. Partially because she didn't know where it was, and the other part of her was terrified. Why did the arachnid chosen her of all people? And how did Sherlock not known it had suddenly disappeared? She closed her eyes a tick, reaching carefully to grab Toby before he could get himself harmed by trying to defend her. He wasn't that large. The spider was much more menacing to her or her cat. She drew in a deep breath before yelling as loudly as she could. "SHERLOCK GET YOUR SPIDER OFF ME BEFORE TOBY EATS IT." Sherlock who was across the yard seemed to realize in that moment that he was without his prized pet. He quickly left his friend John and rushed over to her. "Hooper was it?" He squatted down so that they were eye to eye. He was a few inches taller than her. Always had been. "Molly." She said distractedly. "Where is it? It doesn't feel like it's moving?""He's not. Your hair looks like a nest.""Sherlock." Someone grumbled from behind him. "Oh. I didn't. Mean it." He gritted his teeth. "It's just very wild today."Molly frowned. "Mum was busy this morning. Dad isn't good at this. He tries."Sherlock reached up while she was talking and reached out for Billy who slowly as ever climbed onto his hand. "Would you like my brush?"He stood up once more. "Don't worry about it." Molly sighed as she began combing her hands through the ribbon that was in place. It did feel poofy. Oh Dad."I'm supposed to help people after I harm them." He shrugged."I didn't die, Sherlock."He turned back to her with a half smile. "Thankfully not. I'm supposed to ask your mum if she wanted to bring you over for dinner."Molly tried not to blush. It was hard. He kept staring at her. "I'll lend you my brush."He walked away after that. Perhaps she could get along with Billy if Sherlock Holmes was being nice to her. Besides the tarantula hadn't bothered her once. She just hadn't expected to have it on her. It was alright. --Hope that was okay.

salstrade // Spiders of hell
“KILL IT! KILL IT!! KILL IT! KILL IT WITH FIRE! SEND IT BACK TO HELL WHERE IT BELONGS!!!!”
The shrill screams echoed through the flat they shared.
“Shut it, Greg,” Sally called from the kitchen. “I’m rolling up the newspaper now.”
She rolled her eyes; honestly, how had her darling husband ever made it to detective, let alone DI, with such a crushing fear of arachnids?

sherlolly and warstan for the ask thingy?
Sherlolly
who hogs the duvetMolly but it evens out since Sherlock and his long frame take up most of the bed.
who texts/rings to check how their day is goingSherlock texts Molly all the time when they're apart, unless he's running after/from the bad guys. He'd rather be caught dead than use emoticons, but Molly's responses always have enough to balance his out.
who’s the most creative when it comes to giftsMolly. It's always something meaningful for them, even if no one else in the world would understand, Sherlock does immediately.
who gets up first in the morningMolly, she's the one with the set schedule. Even if it's her day off, her circadian rhythm won't let her sleep more than an hour past when she wakes up on a workday. Sherlock often doesn't get up before noon unless there's a case. If he's recovering from a case, don't look for him before sunset.
who suggests new things in bedSherlock. He has less experience and with his scientific mind, he wants to try everything. Molly usually goes along with it.
who cries at moviesMolly, unless the dog dies, then it's Sherlock.
who gives unprompted massagesSherlock, he knows how cramped her muscles get from doing autopsies all day.
who fusses over the other when they’re sickMolly, she's the nurturer. Sherlock's a big baby when he's sick, but only half of it's for show so Molly will give him even more attention.
who gets jealous easiestMolly. She hates it when women she perceives as sexier hit on Sherlock. Sherlock always ignores them then shows Molly extra affection.
who has the most embarrassing taste in musicMolly, she's into '80s and '90s hair metal. Sherlock thinks she's insane but they both agree it's better than disco.
who collects something unusualMolly collects small taxidermied animals that she makes herself. Sherlock draws the line at anything larger than a guinea pig. Toby the cat's after-life plans are still up in the air.
who takes the longest to get readySherlock, he's the peacock. Everything has to be precise and it can't be an outfit he's worn recently. Molly's the "grab and go" person.
who is the most tidy and organisedMolly, of course. Have you seen the state of 221B? ;)
who gets most excited about the holidaysMolly. Sherlock doesn't get excited about any holiday, while Molly is childlike in her enthusiasm. She's hoping he'll warm up to Valentine's Day when he sees the lingerie she bought.
who is the big spoon/little spoonSherlock's big spoon, Molly's little spoon.
who gets most competitive when playing games and/or sportsSherlock always has to win.
who starts the most argumentsSherlock starts the most. Molly wins the most.
who suggests that they buy a petMolly, but Sherlock says Toby's enough.
what couple traditions they haveAnniversaries are always celebrated, even if they're apart. Birthday parties can be delayed but anniversaries are set in stone.
what tv shows they watch togetherGlee, anything on Jack the Ripper.
what other couple they hang out withWarstan, naturally. Mythea if Anthea can get Mycroft to socialize. Salstrade if the detectives can get off work.
how they spend time together as a coupleThey spend a lot of time cuddled on the sofa reading. Sherlock likes to read Molly's book over her head while she's reading it, so he reads two books at once.
who made the first moveMolly, something John never lets Sherlock forget.
who brings flowers homeSherlock. Sunflowers for their wedding anniversary, yellow roses for her birthday.
who is the best cookMolly. She's been cooking for herself for years, while Sherlock always depended on Mrs. Hudson, John, or the microwave, in that order.
Warstan
who hogs the duvetJohn. It's gotten to the point where Mary is contemplating getting him a security blanket. :)
who texts/rings to check how their day is goingMary calls John whenever he's on a case and she can't go. She keeps changing his ringtone to something embarrassing so he'll answer as soon as possible.
who’s the most creative when it comes to giftsMary. She knows the most obscure websites and shops to get something she knows John will love. She's definitely not a crafts person, but her gifts are always thoughtful.

Old Books & New Flames (11/18)
In this old chapter (almost done with those!), there’s a nice dinner among friends that almost gets ruined by Moriarty being a jealous dick.
Old Books & New Flames - When Sebastian Moran asks local bookstore owner Molly Hooper for a job, all he wants is a second chance to live the life he should have been living before prison. What Molly gets is more than a loyal employee and good friend. What she ends up with is what she had always wanted her entire life: happiness.
READ CHAPTER 1 | READ CHAPTER 11 | HELP ME SURVIVE? | COMMISSION ME? | BUY ME A KOFI? | MY PATREON
That evening, after the shop closed for the day and some time was spent getting the place covered by a watchful eye, Molly and Seb walked around to the back side of the pub where Lestrade, Sally, and Amelia lived. That supposedly had been the way it was constructed, to have housing in the back, but you would never guess there was a pub there with how quiet and courteous the villagers usually were. When the last call sounded, out they went, and there had rarely been a brawl so long as Greg had run it.
According to Sally, he was an ex-copper out of London, like she was, except he’d been injured and pensioned off, and when he heard about the chance to buy into the pub by a certain mutual acquaintance of theirs he went for it. Eventually, he bought his partner out and ran the place with Amelia’s boyfriend’s father as the other bartender. The two kids had hit it off immediately and the idea was that if she didn’t take over the mechanic shop or do something else after uni if they were to marry they’d inherit the pub.
And Sally had walked into their lives almost by accident, but after having had a suspect die in her custody and being shaken by that, she’d been looking for a different avenue in life. The fact that Greg understood had influenced her decision to stay and eventually marry him and adopt Amelia, and they were now one happy bit of Molly’s extended family.
She wasn’t at all surprised that there was no wine at the meal. Not just because Seb was in recovery, but Sally had said Greg wanted to make sure the pregnancy went well so no alcohol whatsoever. She was sure there would be wine again later, once everything was a more settled with Seb and Sally’s had the baby, but tonight the pressed non-alcoholic cider and the coffee had been enough. Greg had cooked, as he was quite skilled with the pub meals and other things, finally getting to devote time to coming up with new dishes, and the meal had been eaten with much cheer and happiness throughout.
Greg leaned in his chair and looked at Seb, pointing at him. “You know, you’re the type of man I appreciate,” he said.
“Oh?” Seb asked.
“You paid your debt and you’re doing your best to be a part of society in the best way. What you’re doing for Molly...I know I appreciate it, and Sally does, and we’re glad you’re here.” He picked up his cup and raised it. “To Sebastian’s arrival in the village!”
“To Seb!” the others said, raising their glasses, and Molly looked over to see Seb looked happy. She reached under the table and grasped his hand, squeezing it, and getting a comforting squeeze in return.
“To you,” she said quietly, taking a sip of the drink that was in her other hand.
“Thanks,” he said, having some of his coffee after raising it towards Greg. “This is a good village. I’m glad I’m settling here.”
“And it would be better if it wasn’t for Moriarty,” Sally said. “She turned to Molly. “I was telling him about the theft of the books and really, once Sherlock gets them back, we should confront him.”
“It would just make it worse,” Molly said. “He’s...slippery, like a snake? He’ll just squirm out of it and then make our lives hell at the shop. No, we’ll just get the books back and put them in the online shop for sale like Martha had intended. Moriarty can just...leave us alone.”
“Molly’s right,” Greg said. “But I can talk to a few people in London. If Sherlock is looking into his activities, I can have him give the evidence to certain friends f mine and maybe we can get him out of your hair once and for all.”
“One could only hope,” Molly said.
Greg turned to Seb. “You know, if you want to have some time to actually court Molly as she deserves, Charlie can watch the shop more. I trust him with my daughter, I’d trust him with the shop. There’s going to be a village faire next weekend and I could persuade him to cover a night for you.”
“Are you going to let him take Amelia into Oxford for that film they want to see?” Sally asked with a smile.
“And let them stay overnight,” Greg said. “If he’ll do us this favour.”
“Oh, that’s a big step,” Molly said with a smile.
“They’re good kids, and she’s about to go into her gap year. If I don’t trust her now, then what’s the point? Soon she’ll be an adult and can do what she wants, and if she wants to stay in a hostel overnight with her boyfriend so they can see a special film, then that’s not so bad, is it? At least I know they’d be careful.”
“Oh, you are a good father,” Seb said with a grin. “When I was a lad we had the fear of God put into us any time we were going to be around the lasses, even if it was completely chaperoned.”
“That’s how I was raised,” Greg said. “But it’s new times. New parenting rules should be implemented, and if they work with Amelia hopefully they’ll work with the new one.” He turned and grinned at Sally. “Though I have to say, Sally’s been a good influence on me as a parent. I couldn’t do it without her.” He reached over and took Sally’s hand in his, pulling it up to kiss her knuckles.
“Damn straight,” Sally said, and the table laughed at that.
The conversation continued for a bit longer and then as they were going to start the dessert there was a knock at the door. Greg went to go get it and then a few minutes later came in with the head of the village police. “As I said, he’s been here since he left the shop,” Greg said, gesturing to Seb. “So there’s no way he was the driver.”
“What’s going on?” Molly asked, gripping Seb’s hand.
“There was a report a drunken driver hit some of the cars on the high street,” the head of the police said. “It had been mentioned that Mr. Moran had been arrested for vehicular homicide, and...”
“No, he’s been here with us since we started dinner, and at the shop with me since it closed for the evening,” Molly said. “I’ll swear it on a bible.”
“Between you and me, Molly, I doubted it was him,” the man said. “I recognized who called in the report and I swear, he’s just trying to stir up more trouble.”
“Moriarty?” Greg asked, and the man nodded. “Bastard.”
“We’re not even going to consider Mr. Moran for this, in all honesty, and focus on Jim. He’s taking this dismissal of your affections all wrong.”
“Yes, he is,” Molly said softly. This was the last straw. Maybe she’d go against her own thoughts and have a word with him about this. That might be what was needed after all...
