In the 70′s Las Vegas was one of the most desired travel destinations with each hotel competing with the best gambling and showgirls revues.

This movie was one of many documentaries showcasing these revues serving as advertising for the Vegas Tourism board

One thing I super enjoyed about NOPE (2022) is the unintentional parallel between gordy and jean jacket and how immoral it is to try to domesticate/train/make a show of an animal that clearly cannot be domesticated. Like how travis the chimp and sigfried and roy's lions are not domesticated like a dog or a housecat which then lead to their tragedies because they were still very much wild animals who lineage wise weren't as domesticated as dogs and cats so they act in ways unlike an actual pet does (yes a dog can still maul you, but the chance like is way way lower than say, a lion)

Hear me out; au where instead of evil sorcerors, Shang Tsung and Quan Chi are Sigfried and Roy style stage magicians

ill never forget when i was in college i would bring up sigmund freud to my fiance and he would act like he knew who i was talking about so i was like okay. but then he later revealed to me he thought we were talking about sigfried and roy the tiger duo. and he thought they were famous psychologists who did really fucked up stuff

thinking about famous german-american magician and entertainer roy horn, one half of sigfried & roy, saying “mantacore is a great cat. make sure no harm comes to mantacore” while being stretchered away from mantacore, the tiger who had just mauled him in front of a live audience.

listening to a caleb widogast "best of" compilation that's nearly 6 hrs long to prepare my accent for my buddy & i's upcoming pathfinder campaign where we're going to be step-siblings with sigfried & roy vibes

Einen schönen guten Morgen wünsche ich Euch!

Ich sitze gerade, 19:26 Uhr, im Steakhouse und trinke das erste Glas Wein.

Ronny muss heute den ganzen Tag arbeiten, daher habe ich ihn noch gar nicht gesehen heute.

Ich leide etwas an Rückenschmerzen, was mich aber nicht davon abgehalten hat, den ersten Tag mit etwas Sonne, auf einem Golfplatz zu verbringen. 😎 Ich bin heute um 10:0o Uhr zum Las Vegas Golf Club gefahren. Es ist der älteste Club in Las Vegas. Er wurde 1936 gegründet. Lustig war, dass an einem Loch das ehemalige Haus von Sigfried und Roy zu sehen war. Das Grundstück ist ein Block groß, liegt aber in einer nicht mehr so schönen Gegend und wurde für 3,5 Mio Dollar verkauft. An den Einfahrten steht auch SR dran und überall Löwen 🙈 Der Platz an sich ist wenig spektakulär, aber die Leute total nett und entspannt. Die älteren Rauchen auch Joints auf der Runde 🤣 Durch den Regen der letzten Tage war der Platz noch recht nass, aber es hat Spaß gemacht.

Danach bin ich dann in den Las Vegas Golf Mega Store. Ein schon recht sehr großer Laden. Dort habe ich mich für die neue Golfsaison mit Kleidung und vorallem Bällen eingedeckt, denn die Kosten im Dutzend knapp 12€ weniger….

Nun gibt es lecker essen und dann werde ich auch ins Bett.

So my orchid Sigfried (yes, that's his name) got caught in the bedspread this morning (yes, we've named all our flowers german names) when I was making the bed (except Roy, but you can't have a Sigfried without a Roy, who would look after the tigers?) and I kind of yeeted him across the room (oh, and there's an Aloe Vera called Montgomery to, but that's just because the other Aloe Vera is called Rommel and they're sort of facing off on the window sill) and I can safely say that this has been a very traumatizing moment for everyone involved (me, and Sigfried, that is)

What's left of him:

Y'all, I just realised we've misspelled Sigfried. I'm never gonna live this down

Wizard Peak’s resident performance artists would have only needed to have been left unsupervised for just a couple of minutes before this had been allowed to unfold.

What was once a pristine section of the hallway had now been drenched in dark purple across a fifteen foot radius - bar the distorted Hexus-shaped gap against the wall - following an attempt at creating colourful bubbles with a combination of telekinesis, a tub of paint and a poorly-researched matter duplication spell.

And if that hadn’t happened to be enough of a shock for the locals, the fact that it was Roy and not Sigfried who had been responsible for planning and executing the near entirety of the process definitely was.

Consequently, they were soon escorted over to Alpine Ridge in the hopes that a certain alchemist could set them on the straight and narrow - or at least help them to improve their skills so that future accidents wouldn’t get this bad if they seemed that desperate to fool around with this kind of magic behind people’s backs.

At this point though, the duo only hoped that Hexus would have calmed down once he finished talking to Eldrid.
