Nodded off between sessions. 

    Then he felt a nudge on his shoulder, which prompted him to jump slightly, snapping his eyes open. 

“Permission granted,” he said on instinct, before turning to look at his husband, his court wizard, his... well, everything. “Did I really just doze off right now?”

“Hey, Chifuyu.”

Mikey’s voice is casual as he approaches Toman’s first Division’s Vice-Captain... and it’s difficult to make out what he’s feeling from his voice or expression. It as if he’s carefully concealing his emotions, waiting to see how Chifuyu responds before he gives away what he’s actually feeling - or at least, that’s how it seems. Still, it’s not an unfriendly tone of voice - instead, there’s curiosity in his tone as he looks at the other boy.

                      “  what’s  the  damage  today            harry? ”    jean  kicks  off  her  boots,  sending  one  nearly  flying  towards  something  easily  breakable,  but  stopped  by  the  power  of  her  mind.   schoolwork  kept  her  busy,  so  busy  that  this  was  the  first  time  she’d  snuck  into  OSCORP  in  over  a  week.        “ don’t  worry  about  the  uh..  cameras,  i  was  hidden. ”           truth  be  told,  she’d  grown  more  comfortable  around  him  than  most  people,  most  homo  sapiens  to  be  exact.  bravery  allows  her  to  use  these  telepathic   &    kinetic  powers  more  and  more  frequently.    studies  aside,  she’s  dressed  from  a  previos  modeling  gig,  a  new  and  highly  successful  career  aside  from  rallying  for  mutant  rights.      a  90s  based  black  dress,  jean  jacket,  doc  martens  kicked  around,  and  messy  red  hair.                          jean  taps  her  temple  for  assurance.

the  smile  that  graces  the  thief’s  features  is  far  from  his  familiar  jovial  grin ,  it’s  something  more  SOMBER .  a  scuffle  with  two - face  had  driven  scamp  out  of  town ,  just  for  a  little  while ,  at  least  until  harvey  found  someone  else’s  life  to  leave  to  the  toss  of  his  coin .  scamp’s  pride  is  his  biggest  downfall ,  because  despite  the  fact  that  he  is  lucky  to  be  breathing ,  he  fails  to  see  the  retreat  as  anything  short  of  a  FAILURE .

his bow lowers slightly as he looks across the way. he has to double-check to make sure he’s seeing what he thinks he’s seeing. gotham really always had surprises up its sleeve. ❝ hey, is that . . . a giant bat? like an actual bat? ❞

It was a long day of being king of space. 

    Not that it’s ever a short day of being king of space. 

Teddy had meetings with his advisors about land grants, permission of colonization, status of colonies, ambassadorial gifts... seems like a fledgeling empire had a lot to learn. And he had a lot to learn. 

    If only his mother could see him now. Or... help him. 

Like he said. It was a long day. 

After a long session of meetings with Kl’rt (which are always awkward) he called it a night, not realizing that if he was still in New York, it would be well past four in the morning. 

    Space time was a little hard to keep track of. 

He expected Billy to be long asleep by the time he returned to his quarters, especially given the time, but in the dark he heard his husband’s voice: I was waiting for you, he said. 

And Teddy woke up in that moment, excitedly stripping off his kingly attire and jumping knee first onto the bed, peppering his husband with kisses from the top of his head, down his neck, collar bone, and down his arm down to his hand. 

“You should be sleeping, Billy,” he said. “But I’m so glad you’re not.” He laid next to his husband, brushing some stray dark hairs from Billy’s face. “Did I mention I love you?”

if querl is correct (and he is ALWAYS correct) this is one of batman’s protégés. one of the robins, from the looks of it. in honesty, he should have expected this turn of events, given he was currently in gotham.

perhaps it was his own fault, for not setting up a forcefield around the area. not that he will admit to making a mistake.

“So... Takemitchy came from the future.”

It’s only been a few days since Toman disbanded. And... since Emma died.

It still doesn’t feel real. Any of it, really. It hurts, the fact that he’ll never see her again. Never talk to her again, never get to see her smile... never get to tell her how he feels. The depths of the pain he feels... is nothing like he ever could’ve imagined.

He wishes that he could’ve told warned his past self. The hope he’d felt after learning that Takemichi came from the future had been cruelly snatched away when Hina told him that he couldn’t go back any further... and it had felt like losing her all over again.

Mikey must be in as much pain as he is. He doesn’t know how to talk about her to Mikey yet, doesn’t know what to say... what can he say, after he blamed Mikey like that before? How is he supposed to apologize for what he did? But if anyone else can understand Draken’s grief, maybe it’s Chifuyu. ...Because Chifuyu also lost someone irreplaceable, didn’t he?

But he’s not ready to bring it up. Not yet.
