ok yes i hate caleo however i love their angst bc neither has known proper love ever whether it be familial platonic romantic etc but they try to find it in each other and they cant find the one theyre trying to force (romantic) but the platonic love they have for each other is special bc they get each other in ways other people cant whether it was because neither had solid parents or friends or family and had lived isolated for so much of their life even if they had been surrounded by ppl (titans for calypso, argo ii example for leo) and so because of this they try to find all the love theyve been devoid of in each other but eventually realize they cant and to find those other loves they need to grow apart and it hurts them to leave the person they love to much (not romantically) but still love each other even if calypso keeps flaking out on leo to meet with her new friends or leo hides away with jo for days in the waystation just hanging out and learning from her
