I am so excited to finally be sharing Garden of Earthly Horrors with all of you. Garden is a project I started in late December 2022-early January 2023, and was born out of a desire to create a conceptualised piece of artwork, thematically linking existential horror to the beauty of nature and its systematic destruction by capitalist forces. Garden of Earthly Horrors instrumentally explores tranquility, panic, and heartbreak through the lens of darkwave dance music.

Hip-Hop Appreciation Week: Mantronix If you don't know about the man, the group Mantronix, go do the research. No judgment here, just go find out. He is to beat making what Rakim is to rap. PERIOD. I've had numerous conversations with homies in various Hip-Hop circles about his contributions to the culture. What he did with a drum machine was poetry conducted with bass and snare. He was before his time. Easily crowned the Godfather of Boombap and Trap. These two albums take me back to Music Menu with @evg4life buying albums with saved up Birthday money, allowance, cash from cutting lawns just to get that new Hip-Hop. Overwhelmed with excitement, once heard we lost our minds as our cups overflowed with inspiration for us to show the world how we rock mics. The album art work was epic for The Rap Pack album. Mantronix produced for MC Tee, T La Rock, & Just Ice. I would have loved to see where Hip-Hop would have gone with 5 or 10 more year of Mantronix producing Hip-Hop. He moved over to a EDM Euro Techno type style. (I Can Dig it). Imagine KRS, Big Daddy Kane, or Rakim on a Mantronix beat. Shit... Biggie, Pac, Mos Def.... Anyways.
