I’ve seen you mention structuralism and post-structuralism in some of your posts - can you recommend any books/articles/anything else on that topic?
tried to arrange in approximate order of most to least friendly for a reader unfamiliar with specialist philosophical language / concepts. also, this includes both secondary and primary literature and one might even say implicitly challenges some of the assumptions that structure that dichotomy. if one were in an impish sort of mood.

Its important to familiarize with many artists and their works to understand not only their process, but, reasons for art making, their style, attitude, timeline of their career, contributions, and personalities...
 Jackson pollock the mention of the name should open up his style of paintings and his contemporaries, friends, and his finest works...
I want to keep the names so that I can google them later and have a glimpse of their works, if my interest is growing in a perticular artist I will issues some more books and read their works...
Either there is  precision and control of colour  or flowing into softness of textures and shapes
Auguste Herbin- sharp, geomatic shapes, with colours do not flow out but remain within their shapes and sits on another or beside other colours which are like them within their bountries set.
