she’s still reeling from the phone call.

she doesn’t know what to do or how to act. or even how to go about it. he called twice more after she hung up on him. her hands keep shaking. every time her phone pings she jumps. she knows she’s not okay but she can’t have a breakdown in the middle of the dorms. all of the girls would come then. there would be too many eyes. too many questions.

if she went to mona, mona just might catch the first train to her father’s house and kick his ass herself. admittedly, sohee didn’t hate the imagery but she doesn’t want their leader getting mad for her sake. the singer is also aware that keeping it bottled up wasn’t really an option she had. she couldn’t afford to explode during promotions. besides the more her father texts her, pleading for her to talk to her, the more her resolve crumbles. sohee abandons her phone in the bathroom. instead of going to her room with ness she heads into sejeong’s.

the other was taking a nap (or so she said) so she was left alone in her room. sohee wasn’t sure if she wanted a distraction or to just cry herself asleep next to sejeong but she went inside anyways. she crawls into sejeong’s bed, under the covers with her. she sniffles, holding back her sobs to not disturb the other. her shoulders gently shake. the first tear finally rolls down her cheek.

hyuna can’t really believe the fact that sejeong went out of her way for this. it was more than just being nice in her opinion. the fact that the other girl dragged her out, to have a celebration date, for hyuna’s debut. yeah, she definitely teared up a bit. however, it was a really nice way to understand her situation. after so many years, she finally got to where she wanted, and she really couldn’t have asked for a better set of girls to debut with.

“hey, you took me out, let me at least pay.“ hyuna pouts as they wait for their meals to arrive. she could at least do so much for sejeong, but something tells her the other girl wouldn’t allow her to do that. “i can’t believe i actually made it.“ the rapper sighs, cupping her face in her hands and smiling widely at sejeong “can you believe i made it?“

     heejin can’t say there isn’t a face within trc that she doesn’t recognize.

     sure, she doesn’t know everyone, not on very personal levels at the very least considering just how many people she interacts with on a daily bases, but she can at least point others out, remember most names, and think of others as more than simple background characters in her own life. that’s not always been the case, but passing time and growing age has matured heejin, at least by a small margin— she’s in her last stretch as a teenager, so a child-like sense of understanding is still there sometimes, but she’s not rude or distant in a way she’d been only a few years ago.

     so, when she immediately recognizes who the older woman is, a sunbae she’s seen countless times by now, but has never really had the chance to meet and speak with, heejin takes a moment before taking the first step. the younger hadn’t known the practice room they were both now in was occupied, but now that she did, there was no use in putting an opportunity like this to the side. “sejeong sunbaenim—” unnie? could she say that so quickly? “—sorry, i didn’t realize you were in here...putting in extra practice?”

k.arma had been her number one since the day they debuted. and having the opportunity to meet both mona and doyeon in public was absolutely awesome. though she’s happy she got casted by sphere, a part of her wonders what would happen if she instead got a callback from her second choices: trc. not only would she be able to hang out with yeji more, but she’d also be able to meet the queens themselves k.arma. and even if she ults convex, she couldn’t help but daydream that possible result. 

thankfully, she’s in sphere (just like she wanted) with chungha, daniel, gahyeon, and yuzu... and convex. she walks around happily giving sphere flyers to people she runs into with a bright smile, a result of being able to do this for the company period. “excuse me!” she calls out to a girl who walks past her, only seeing the back of her head. “would you like a sphere flyer?” she asks, looking into her bag to pull one out. as soon as the other girl turns around and she takes a flyer out, her jaw drops. thankfully, it wasn’t a convex member. however, it’s the kim sejeong from k.arma!!! 

“OH! i’m super sorry,” she bows her head. “wow! you’re kim sejeong from k.arma! oh my gosh! i’m a huge fan! i really liked dolls! and ticket! and news! wow!” she’s in such disbelief, she’s sure she looks like a fool in front of such a cool idol right now. “you probably don’t need this sphere flyer- unless you want one! but you’re in trc, so i don’t know for sure. ah! wow! sorry! you’re really pretty!” she bows again. god, she needs to stop making a fool of herself in front of idols. 

YOUR LOVE IS POTEN  ━━     ﹡ 𝚂𝙴𝙹𝙴𝙾𝙽𝙶 、 

they arrive early in the venue for the waterbomb festival. when naeun had thought she could rest a bit before they got on stage -- they had been called out for rehearsal and sound check. it was tiresome with the heat making standing on stage feel more unbearable than ever. she was sure later on in the day, with fans spraying them with water to their ( lewd ) delight, it would feel fine but all naeun could concentrate on -- other than the strange ache in her throat from the heat making her mouth dry -- was the fact that she was starting to feel sticky.

ugh.

she just wanted to get off stage and in front of a fan as fast as possible. ( or maybe inside a freezer, if that was quicker ) though, freezers were probably out of her luck, naeun was glad that after the nfth time of going over ‘up and down’ the sound techs were finally satisfied with the quality and let them go. rather than follow the rest of the girls, naeun had opted to head to the cafeteria area, hoping she could snatch an ice cream from one of the venders before passing out before the concert began.

and honestly, she was just going to do that before she saw a familiar face from the corner of her eye ( familiar as in tv-familiar and not met-in-person familiar ) that made her stop frozen in her steps. “eh?” she felt her eyes go wide and her heart begin the small electric-flip it does whenever she saw someone she admired. before she knew it, she was taking a step back, a quick one-two step before her finger was gently tapping the other girl’s shoulder. “excuse me, were you the actress who played minah from love poten?”

clearly, at this moment she wasn’t luxe’s main vocal cheri. instead, she was a puddled fan girl named son naeun.

things were not necessarily easier, after becoming an idol. but in his eyes, making new friends would never be a problem, as long as people were willing to. so after receiving the news of being casted for a role in an upcoming drama (and after freaking out, when realizing that it was actually a lead role), kang joon had made a deal with himself to try and make new friends at the set. he had soon learned that he would be working together with k.arma’s sejeong, one of hyuna’s fellow members, which was just more of a reason for him to go ahead and try befriending her.

he was always down to make more idol friends, as he believed it would be much more fun to meet friends backstage than simple colleagues in the future. on top of acting together with the other, she would be playing his older sister (though he was technically the older one), so the de:code member made the plan to take the “chemistry” check to another level.

at the day of the first meet up, he arrived a little earlier than the female and after greeting the director and staff members, he sat down on an assigned seat, holding a bag in his lap. soon after he heard her coming in, so kang joon turned around with a bright, charming smile and waved at her: “noona! welcome! please sit next to me! are you thirsty, noona? i bought you a drink! are you hungry, noona? here is a snack for you!”

the news of landing the role gives woohyun more time to get out of his own head, pushing himself into preparing for the role; to give his all into something so he doesn't think about every negative thought beginning to plague his mind.

greeting the staff enthusiastically, a typical nam woohyun set of a grin and a sweet eye-smile as they move onto the next step of the drama process. a chemistry check, he's told, and woohyun goes along easily with it. he doesn't have much experience with filming stuff like this, so he follows obediently, ready to give whatever sort of help they expect from him.

as he lets his eyes trail over the auditonees, a kind smile on his face as he nods his head in greeting. as they go through an explanation, his eyes catch sight of one particular familiar face-- one that he remembers from a walk during winter and on the screen just recently. he beams in recognition, his smile widening a bit more. it's nice to recognize someone in the midst of so many people he doesn't know.

as they settle into a practice set-- he gives a quiet greeting towards her, a sweet smile as he says. "let's do well." and glances down at the script in front of him briefly, then back up to her as he listens attentively.

it didn’t feel real when she was told she’d be a part of the official lineup and it still doesn’t feel real now. despite the fact that they’re already complete and with a debut song at the tip of fingers, joy feels as though she’s still a million moons away. perhaps this is just what it feels like knowing that she’s dreamt of this moment for the longest time. to be slated for debut after waiting is like living in a constant state of euphoria.

although she knows her little bubble of happiness and dreamlike state is not meant to last without a few showers of reality. their first task as a group puts her a little on edge due in part to the ‘whole singing in front of a superior vocal coach from the company’. sure, no pressure. she would not feel too nervous if it’s their whole group singing together but because they had to do it alone, she’s somewhat overwhelmed. still, she believes firmly that it’s  something she can survive with all the necessary practice. it would help immensely if she were to approach the right people to guide her along the way.

“sejeong unnie,” she reaches for the other, closing a hand on her arm to get her attention. she smiles brightly when she faces her, enthusiasm evident despite her initial worries. “is it okay if i practice with you? i think i might need some help making sure i sound good enough singing our song.” our song, it feels wonderful rolling from her tongue. it’s surreal how this is their reality now.

within the first couple days that sejeong starts filming, vanessa decides she doesn't like it already.

she's grown so used to sejeong's presence, having all of the other girls around in the dorms or in the practice rooms; they all came home to the dorm at times vanessa can remember, times that she's used to. with the drama filming, sejeong's hours are so...unpredictable. sometimes she doesn't see the girl until she wakes up in the morning after staying up late to see if she'll come home early, by chance.

it makes her feel weird, restless.

on one of the nights, she manages to pull herself out of sohee's sleeping form and into the kitchen. she's got headphones, her phone and a glass of water to keep her company, seated at the table. she'll stay up a little bit longer, just to see the other girl. it feels like it's been so long that she's seen sejeong.

she doesn't know when she falls asleep, head pressed to her arms folded on the kitchen table. but she does know she wakes up with a jolt and a snort, blinking blearily in the darkness of the room. for a moment, vanessa doesn't know why or what woke her up. she's rubbing off drool from the corner of her mouth when she hears footsteps-- and she gives a loud yawn, breaking the silence as she calls out tiredly. "sejeong-ah, is that you?"

packing had come easier than expected, she knew she would have to do her best to pack light. so on her own, she elimated a few piles of clothing. now she had one fairly large one and with the help of doyeon and her mom, she finally narrowed it down. now she had arrived at their dorm and before she got settled in, she waited for sejeong and sana to show up. dorm rooms affairs had settled pretty quickly. still, she didn’t want to settle into the room without waiting for the other two. 

yubin also knew that she was a bit early for the move in. why not have a look around? it still didn’t feel too real, the fac that they were moving into dorms. this was really it. in a short while, depending on how long it took to get their debut ready, they’d really be k.arma. finally, she heard the sound of someone coming in and left the room she was in to find out who it was.

❝ messy hair

with a loud sigh, hyuna face plants herself onto her bed, ignoring her wet hair and aching body as much as she could. “you’d think out of everything, i would bring my hair dryer, but no... i brought my electric piano.“ she huffs, half muffled into the pillow. at times, she was impressed with her own incapability of doing basic stuff, but she somehow managed to get to the lovely age of 27. the thought makes her feel old to say the least.

however, she looks over at sejeong, almost pouting at her “do you have a hairdryer i could use?” hyuna asks, pushing herself up in a sitting position. “if you don’t, it’s fine, i’ll go to bed and hope i don’t have a headache the next morning.” in all honesty, the rapper was really close to doing just that. going to sleep with her wet hair and hope for the best. afterall, she was human as well and sleeping came crashing to her at times, even if she was a diagnosed insomniac.
