it's absolute bullshit.
you’d swear that he’s the most annoying person you’ve ever met — you can’t stand his guts at all. he could be about 20 metres in your radius and you’d get goosebumps all over your body. you dread to go to the classes you share with him, despises how he makes you feel, so you avoid eye contact at all costs. you loathe how he always reminds the teacher of the homework everytime he knows you didn’t do it. he’s not the type to be a teacher’s pet but everytime he hears you whisper to a friend that you didn’t do the homework, he’d suddenly say — “sir, we had homework yesterday!”
he feels the same way about you. each time you walk past, he'll turn his gaze away so your eyes don't meet. then, when you're away, he'll stare at your back with a face full of disgust. you know because you've caught him doing so, in which you returned his gesture by sticking your tongue out at him.
the two of you can't stand each other — everyone knows. that's why they purposely placed the two of you in the same closet while playing a game of seven minutes in heaven. the closet door sounds a loud thud once jisung shuts it close, yelling out a quick "make up and make out!"
seungmin irritatingly grumbles beside you, plopping down on the ground. the closet is full of clothes, and reeks of jisung’s cologne. you two try to fit in the closet together, resulting into an argument.
“bloody move, damn,” he cusses, wiggling around for space.
you scoff, “you’re taking up most of the space.”
the argument continues, both bodies wriggling around for comfort. it gets to a point where someway, somehow — even you’re not sure how — seungmin topples over one of jisung’s shoes and falls on top of you.
you can feel the heaves of his breaths and his eyes boring into yours despite the darkness. both his knees are on the ground, palms as well, only chests not touching each other’s. you don’t know why but you hold your breath, staring back into his eyes.
“not so loud now, huh?” he mutters. you hate that he still doesn’t lose his sass in situations like this.
“you’re insufferable, kim seungmin.”
“yeah, maybe i am,” seungmin retorts, “but it’s only towards you.”
“huh?”
before you know it, the gap between the two of you are sealed by seungmin’s lips crashing into yours. again, you’re not sure why but you kiss back, gripping onto his sides. after a while he pulls back, earning a whimper from you.
“you’re so annoying,” he kisses, “i wish you weren’t so pretty so i could hate you in peace.”
you roll your eyes, “kim seungmin. shut up and just kiss me, damn it.”
it’s safe to say that jisung was overjoyed the moment he opened the closet door.

felix is tired. the whole day has been nothing but complete shit. as he walks down the hallways of the university, all he could think about is crashing onto his sofa and sleeping until the sky turns black. he’s not even thinking about what to have for lunch, too occupied with the thought of going to sleep.
“idiotic lecturer,” he hisses under his breath, both hands clasped onto the straps of his backpack. he had worked tirelessly on his assignment, only for the pages to be ripped up to pieces by his lecturer.
the hustles and bustles of the building makes felix’ head dizzy. he quietly cusses again upon realizing that he forgot to bring his headphones. being stressed makes you forget a lot of things — felix makes a mental note to calm down.
"lix!" a voice calls out — your sweet, sweet voice.
felix briefly looks back, turning around quickly when he remembers that he's avoiding you. immediately, his steps become faster. you've been blowing up his phone with angry texts from last night, and he knows exactly why.
"lee felix, i know you heard me," you yell, trying your best to catch up with your best friend, "please, stop avoiding me!"
as much as felix wants to curl up and hide from the world, he pauses in his spot at your last words. the blonde simply can't bear to see you plead. a deep breath is taken before he turns around to face you.
"i don't get it, lix. this is the third time i've set you up with my friend and you ghost them."
you're visibly frustrated — he hates that.
"the date was kind of boring y/n," he mutters, looking at everywhere but him, "i don't think we clicked that well."
a sigh slips past your lips, "did you even try?"
"i did!" he defends.
brown eyes glance around the area to ensure nobody's nearby. only artworks stare back at felix.
"i always try to like the people you set me up with," felix adds, "but i just can't. maybe you should stop setting me up with people."
"i just want you to go out and socialize lix. that's all. you barely go out, for god's sake. sometimes it feels like you yell at your computer more than you talk to people."
ouch.
his eyebrows furrow, face screaming disbelief. you've never said anything of the sorts to him, always so caring. so gentle.
"you're not in charge of my social life, y/nnie."
"but i'm your best friend! i just want to know why you keep on ditching my friends."
his lips part to talk, yet nothing but heavy exhales slip out. the tip of his tongue grazes his lower lip to wet them. at the meantime, your eyes bore holes into his pale skin, constantly pushing for him to answer. the pressure and the sounds of the airconditioner compressors intensify, boiling felix' blood.
"why, lix?"
"because i'm in love with you, okay?"
"what?"
the moment felix realizes what he had just said, his breath hitches. suddenly everything is silent — no sounds, just pure fear. fear of you turning away and abandoning him, fear of not being friends anymore, fear of —
"felix?" you mutter again, "do you mean that?"
his rings decorated fingers scratch the back of his neck, the other hand busy checking his pulse.
"lix?"
"i mean it, really."
"oh," is all that you manage to say.
just oh? felix could feel his saliva getting thicker, and that feeling in his stomach sinking even deeper.
"yeah. . ." he mumbles, and for the first time in forever, awkwardness surround the two of you.
"well," you breathe out, "i like you too, actually. . . been setting you up with all these people to try and. . .you know, get over you. felt like you didn't like me and if you had a partner, it wouldn't be as hard to get over you because i'd feel like i have no choice but to do so."
"huh?"
it's your turn to turn embarassed. you could feel your whole body heat up.
"yeah. . ."
"all this while, you've been setting me up because you didn't think you had a chance?" felix utters in disbelief, eyebrows raised, "i've been in love with you since forever."
the words sends you spiralling, cheeks turning red. a whirlpool of emotions overcome you — happiness, disbelief, stupid — name it. you're possibly feeling every emotion available except grief.
"i feel so stupid, lix" you can't help but smile; he thinks it's adorable.
felix bites the inside of his cheeks and the grip he had on his bagpack straps tightens, "you've been setting me up on dates for months now, how about i set you up on one this time? a date with me, at the park tomorrow?"
you swear you've never felt this giddy before.
"of course, lix. i've been waiting for this since forever."

you're stressed.
the numbers on your to-do list appear as a mountain to you — heightened and scary. you don't remember the last time you got up from your office chair, and the warmth of the cushion under suggests that it's been a long time. perhaps six hours. you're unsure. beneath the overwhelming pressure, you've lost track of time.
on second thoughts — to say that you're stressed would be an understatement. you're beyond stressed. you're whatever superlative which comes after stressed. sighs slip past your lips every five minutes, and your eyes are beginning to hurt from the laptop. you make a mental note to get a blue light filtering glasses.
the sound of your apartment door creaking open and closing goes unnoticed. even the pitter-patter of seungmin's converse goes unnoticed to you, too occupied with the work in front of you. the sound of your fingers tapping against your keyboard blocks the ruffling sound created when seungmin places a grocery bag on the kitchen counter. he rummages through the bag, finding for the bento meal he bought for you from a convenience store.
a smile is plastered across seungmin's face as he walks around the apartment, in search of you. he hasn't seen you in a couple days now, much gratitude to his packed schedule. hence why the moment he's free, he immediately went to a conveniece store near your apartment complex before heading to yours. the consideration of texting you before coming has completely slipped from his mind, overjoyed by the fact that he'll get to see his sweetheart after so long.
"y/n," he greets the moment he spots you in your study room, "hi."
you only glance at him for a second before turning your attention back to the laptop, "hey."
seungmin's eyebrows have never furrowed so quick. determined, he pushes the bento meal towards you, frown slowly forming on his face.
you could see the meal from your peripheral vision, "thanks love. i'll eat later."
"come eat with me," he says.
you spare another glance, "i'm busy. you go and eat first."
he pouts, "please come and eat with me."
a sigh escapes your lips before you could stop it, "i'm busy, min. i said i'll eat later. some of us have to study and work hard to get a job, you know?"
perhaps you should've worded your words better. seungmin's face contorts into what seem to be a mix of anger and sadness, lips parting to fire back.
"what are you insinuating, y/n? are you saying that i don't work as hard as you do?"
you shrug, "it's a different type of tiredness."
"right. like all you do isn't lounging in your chair and occasionally typing a few words all day."
overwhelmed by anger, you gather all your things to leave. seungmin's series of apologies are ignored as you grab the keys to your car, itching to leave the room which seem to feel tighter.
it's not until you reach the library when you realize that you deserved seungmin's outburst. you started the fight, after all. with shame seeping through your blood, you sink into a chair, thinking of the ways you should apologize to him.
for now, you think, you'll drown yourself in your pile of work, giving the two of you time to cool down.
the time keeps on moving, a contrast to you. you stay glued onto your chair, the same way your eyes stick onto your screen. more and more people exit the cold library yet you don't budge. you even fail to realize seungmin popping in the library, distress scribbled all over his face and a paper bag in hand.
the old librarian stands up to stop his entrance — they stop allowing people to enter an hour before the closing, yet the rushed calls does not stop seungmin. he trudges towards your usual spot, and places the brown paper bag onto the glass table. the rustling makes you look up, pushing down your headphone onto your neck.
"baby —"
"i know i made you mad, but i'm still going to make sure you take care of yourself. eat."
you're speechless. the determined look on his face tells you that there's no way you're getting yourself out of this — that he's going to make sure you eat no matter what.
"i'm really so —"
he cuts you off by taking out an energy drink and a sandwich. he places them on the table as you watch his every move, "eat. i'm going to sit here and make sure you eat. i'll wait until you come home, and we'll sort this out."
the warmth in your heart upon hearing his words remind you why you fell in love with him all over again. the tender, yet somewhat aggressive way he takes care of you.
"seungmin," you sigh, "i'm sorry. really sorry."
"it's okay," he sighs, "i'm sorry too. don't think about it for now. we'll sort it out at home."
seungmin offers you a genuine smile, showing off his pearly teeth now that he's gotten his braces out. it makes you grin. nodding, you take the food into your hands before sinking back in your seat.
as you unwrap the sandwich from its packaging, seungmin doesn't budge. his facial expression tells you that he has something in mind, yet somewhat hesitatnt to blurt it out. you raise your eyebrow and peer at him through your eyelashes.
he scratches the back of his neck with a pointer, "can i. . . stay here? i missed you so much. i won't bother you, promise — i'll find for a book to read and stay here reading. i'll be quiet, i swear."
you chuckle, "of course, baby. i'm almost done anyway. i missed you too, your company would be nice."
you've never seen someone look so happy to browse through books before.

library/café date — we read books and drink coffee while exchanging our views about what we read. probably one of us finished the book the other was reading and spoiled the other one about the ending, lmao 😌✨
seungmin's definitely your true pair — you would both browse for cafes on tiktok, eager to try any interesting ones. i think the two of you would feel comfortable with both silence and idle chat. sometimes you'd converse about your favourite part in a book, sometimes you'd silently annotate. at one point seungmin would suggest you swapping books so that you can annotate after he does. rereading the books while seeing two annotations in different inked pens is always a joy.

Soooo my ideal date would be...
It would be in fall, and would start in the late afternoon where we go to a cafe to just sit and chill, we will drink coffee or hot chocolate as we talk and then we would walk around and visit a park or go to a museum and after that, we would just have a long walk under the moon and then he would kiss me on the doorstep, not wanting to leave but then leaving... Like you know walking backwards and keep waving goodbye types. That would be ideal date...

my ideal type: someone who believes in soulmates. gentle and caring. i don’t like ppl who are too aggressive and dominating.
