Band weaving with a small simple heddle is something I planned to return to at some point after almost quarter of a century. Sounds huge, huh? I used to weave small crazy coloured bands as a pre-teen. Now this rainbow one absolutely needed to be started amongst all the other projets that are in progress. Suddenly more waiting was just unacceptable 😂

I hope to make myself a usable strap for a bag or for my camera this way. Love the simplicity.

Some wood working while I'm in Värmland. Borrowing dad's tools. I got him hooked on making rigid heddles for band weaving. He loves a new challenge every once in a while. We (read him) have a bunch of prototypes worked up. He makes them and I test them. In the meantime I'm working on my own little heddle. Using only a knife and some... Rasp/files? What's the English word? Idk. A traditional Värmländsk rose at the top and 10 holes, 9 slits. Over The Flu and Back at It!

Last week at this time I was running a fever of 104 and not feeling too good.  A week later and I am doing much better, but still not completely over it yet.

Fortunately, I feel much better and have gotten a new warp loaded onto my loom for another fun pillow sham with the Lionbrand Mandala yarn.  

After this I am definitely switching to some new cotton yarn that I got for Christmas!  

(Man, my hands look old.  Even a as a kid I had old looking hands, but now they’re looking a bit wrinkly.  I swear I am not 80!)

I’m getting to the end of this teal cloth that I made to go along with a project I have in the works. At the end, I start to weave in the ends of the warp into the weft. I’ve never seen anyone else do this, it’s just my way to make my weaving projects more #zerowaste . And the diagonal envelope end that results is pretty cool in my opinion. I don’t throw any yarn away, I make dryer balls. Yay!
