When every other source of food is depleted, look to the ground; look to the things that creep. Reptiles and Amphibians, collectively called "herpetofauna," (creeping things) are extremely abundant in many areas and can provide a ready and stable food source. On the whole, aquatic environments are much more productive [to find food] than terrestrial (land) habitats so finding a body of water like ponds, wetlands or any other standing or slow-moving water will produce quicker food source results. Being educated on wild [plant & animal] food sources in your area will help you survive while avoiding illness or death. [Reference Link] Related Resources: All About Snakes

Ultimate Guide On: Best Reptile Food and Treats On a Budget
Reptiles have a unique diet, and just like other pets like dogs and cats, they need treats too. For taste and also for having a complete nutritional value. If you wonder what type of treat will be good for your reptile pet, then it completely depends on the species.
There are three different types of reptile species that you can have as a pet. Carnivorous Reptiles have a diet of whole prey, and this category of reptiles does not require treats as they get their nutrition through different parts of the prey. This category needs whole animals as treats.
The other species are the herbivorous reptiles, like iguana, tortoise, and turtles. They mostly eat leafy greens, and you should treat them once in a while by mixing them with their daily fruits and vegetables so that they get enough nutrition. Fiber is a must for herbivorous reptiles, so that the perfect diet would be hay also F10 veterinary disinfectant useful for cleaning the cage for reptile and snakes.
The other species are insectivorous reptiles. As the name suggests, insectivorous reptiles, such as chameleons, feed mostly on insects. Although they usually eat crickets, one should handle them with various diets, including a number of different insects. Silkworms, grasshoppers, hornworms, cockroaches, mealworms, cockroaches, and, in particular, wax worms are excellent snacks for the insectivores. And earthworms are also a healthy snack just make stay away from the insects by using F10 disinfectant spray.
How to choose treats for reptile pets?
When you have a reptile pet, you can sometimes give it a treat. Unlike most of the snacks that humans love (but can avoid), the snacks you will offer your pet should be nutritious and lead to a well-balanced diet. As a consequence, a reward for your reptile pet should actually be a tasty diet that your pet shouldn't get too much. To find the correct food for your pet, you must first research and consult about its nutritional preferences and then feed them new food which is both fun and nutritious.
Carnivorous Reptile's Treat
A carnivorous reptile includes a snake or a monitor lizard. A "treat" essentially involves offering them a fresh or separate form of reptile food by providing them. You can only feed them food that includes animal protein since they are carnivores. Force-feeding other ingredients to your pet would make the treats unattractive, and it can also make them fall sick.
Rodents are the most common diet for hostaged carnivorous reptiles. When you choose to change your pet reptile's diet, rotate between rats and mice every now and then; however, feeding them healthier reptile food and supplies rats and mice will fulfill all of your pet's nutritional needs.
Carnivorous reptiles prefer to consume specific prey, which means they would not eat any other baby bird with which they come into contact. Ball pythons, for instance, can have a very difficult time detecting prey also they are not accustomed to, and therefore can die if they are not forced into feeding. This makes it impossible to offer a new snack to a carnivorous reptile.
The size of live food is one aspect that restricts the willingness, and motivation, of a reptile to consume such prey. For example, when you are rewarding an animal two thirds or more the size of the head of the reptile, then it is impossible that they will be able to consume it.
Insectivorous Reptile's Treat
For an insectivorous reptile, you should feed it a range of insects that are reasonably easily available and to buy. Although an insectivore's food generally consists of mealworms or crickets, surprising your beloved reptile pet with a new insect every now and then would be a wonderful surprise.
Herbivorous Reptiles Treat
For a herbivorous pet reptile, like desert iguana or chuckwalla, even when offering treats, you would only have to treat them with vegetables and fruits. They would want to consume leafy greens most of the time. Merely give them a slice of green vegetables or fruits that it doesn't get as much but is good for it to consume as a reward.
Desert iguanas, for instance, prefer dark leafy greens, fruits, and certain kinds of plants. But if you've never offered a nasturtium bloom or a dandelion to them, give it to your pet and just see how your pet likes it.
Non-leafy green vegetable snacks can make up around a tenth of the herbivore reptile's diet. This means that even an occasional "treat" should actually be these foods.
In the form of grass, try offering your herbivore reptile some additional fiber. Tortoises happen to prefer it.
You will see that they are going to eat a little slice of the hard-boiled egg, mostly with a shell or a tiny piece of well-cooked chicken to give the herbivorous reptile that little protein. Just give them some of these snacks since all that animal protein can injure the kidney function of a herbivore.
