CHRYSANTHEMUM: How does your muse express romantic love? How do they feel about love as a concept?

Irene shows her love in a lot of little ways! Mainly through spending quality time with someone she loves. She’s introverted by nature and prefers to be alone, but if she likes someone she’ll go out of her way to spend time with them. The other main way she shows affections is through sharing her art/making things for people. Her art brings her so much joy and sharing it with other people makes her happy, but especially people that she loves. If she likes someone they’re gonna get some kind of art from her and if they like it then they better be prepared to get it constantly. 

However, that’s somewhat complicated by her feelings on love on it’s own. In most of her verses she’s never had a relationship. She doesn’t trust people because of the bullying she endured when she was younger to be genuinely interested in her. It was easier to protect herself to assume anyone interested was doing it as a joke and disregard it. Now that she’s older that’s caused her to just not think she’s someone people are interested in, being honestly kind of oblivious towards people who are attracted to or showing interest in her. Even if she did pick up on it, she feels like she’s gone too long without being in a relationship. It’s weird to be in her 20s and not have any experience so its scary to think about suddenly being in one. 

Not to mention her many, many hang ups on the idea of long-lasting love due to her father’s infidelity and her parent’s divorce. Even if she were to get into a relationship, it can just fall apart anyway so what’s the point? Love doesn’t last and marriage is a shame, so she’s better off alone.

EDELWEISS: What was the bravest moment in your muse’s life? Are they known to be courageous from then on?

I’d say probably her confrontation with the Death Mask killer in her main verse! I won’t go too much into detail on that here because I know we both like to keep the killer’s identity a surprise, but that was definitely the most brave thing she’s ever done, especially considering she’s always considered herself fairly timid and unable to stand up for herself. I don’t know if she would be considered brave from then on out, she definitely wouldn’t think she is, but it’s a moment that jump starts her confidence in herself and her ability to take charge in situations and not be the kind of person who lets people walk all over them.

LAVENDER: How easy is it to gain your muse’s trust? Once their trust is broken, how might one go about mending it?

Irene being the way she is and her past experiences she’s hesitant to trust people. She needs time to warm up to people, especially ones who are more popular or outgoing. They just remind her of bad experiences she’s had with being bullied. 

If the years after her parent’s divorce has shown anything, it’s next to impossible to get her trust after breaking it. She holds onto a grudge like her life depends on it, so if someone hurts her or breaks her trust in some way she will never forget it. To try and maybe repair the relationship that person would have to seriously show that they know what they did and that they want to fix it. If the person who broke her trust is in anyway seems disingenuous or like they’re not going to put the effort fix the relationship, then she’s done.

Commentaire :

Ça commence : la musique est belle (du piano), l'histoire est cute, les images sont bien faites. Au début, le jeu semble être en fait un remake de Binary Land (NES), que j'ai sur ma cassette de 72 jeux.  Y'a quand même une différence majeure, où les ennemis ne se déplacent que quand tes personnages se déplacent. Alors ça laisse beaucoup plus place à la réflexion, qu'à la réaction. Le piano en arrière-plan n'a jamais l'air de se répéter, et c'est plaisant à entendre.

Le jeu est complètement gratuit, est beau, assez difficile. On peut avoir 3 sauvegardes différentes.

Tulip: How does your muse view people in general? 

There are exceptions of course, people that she approaches genuinely and some that she doesn’t bother with, but a lot of the time she sees people as potential puzzles that she has to figure out. What they want and what they want from her, how she needs to adjust her behavior to be the most appealing version of herself to them. It’s kind of exhausting at times, and if she weren’t so naturally sociable it would be too much, but at this point in her life reading people and making judgments like that are a well practiced skill for her.

Sunflower: What brings your muse the most joy in life? 

Sarah has a few things that really bring her real joy and she holds them dear. One is music, both in consuming it and making her own. She just connects to music more than any other art form and it’s something she uses for escapism and as a way to sooth herself. Dancing around to music too is another level of joy that music brings her because getting up and moving her body is a special kind of euphoric experience for her.

Another big joy for Sarah is Charlie. She loves him so much and he’s pretty much the only person Sarah doesn’t feel like she has to preform for on some level. She can just be herself around him and feels free from judgment around him. His personality and wavering kindness also just never fails to make her happy and endeared.

Southernwood: How seriously does your muse take themselves? Do they prefer a solemn & intellectual atmosphere or do they delight in-jokes & banter?  

She takes herself seriously enough not to tolerate disrespect, but in general she’s pretty chill about things. She doesn’t mind some well intentioned razzing and will laugh if she finds it funny. Even as popular and well liked she is she gets a lot of jabs sent her way. That she’s dumb, that she sleeps around, that she has nothing going on, etc., so she’s had to learn to roll with it and not let it bother her too much. She absolutely prefers joking and bantering with people over being alone! Sarah is the life of the party and loves having a good time with others. Plus nothing is more fun to her than having a good bit of banter with someone.

Happiness to Sarah is a peaceful moment in a sunlit kitchen. Everything is warm and cozy, and it feels like home. It’s a feeling that she’s rarely had in the past, so it’s an idea she really strives for. She just wants that feeling of belonging and safety that’s felt so elusive to her growing up.

28. What makes them laugh out loud?

Sarah likes to think she has a good sense of humor. Honestly, it’s not hard to make her laugh, but the key is that whatever joke you’re making you have to do it with confidence. There’s nothing less funny to her than someone waffling and not committing to the bit. Puns are also good.

33. Do they keep their promises?

Absolutely. She takes promises she makes very seriously and will do her best to keep them. A promise means a lot to her.

4. Has your muse ever struggled with their relationship to womanhood and femininity?

Sarah has never really questioned her own femininity. Just being the era and her own very who she is as a person she’s always felt very feminine. However, she has struggles with some of the drawbacks of being a feminine presenting woman. Trying to keep with with beauty ideals that were expected at the time and the way feminine women were treated, it’s all tiring. People judge her no matter what she does, men sexualize her, people talk down to her. So while she loves being feminine and is unapologetically feminine it’s tiring sometimes. 

11. How are her relationships with other women? Friendships/familial/romantic etc.

Complicated. She doesn’t our right hate other women, in fact in a lot of ways she feels a lot of solidarity and love for other women, but she’s also not the kind of woman who immediately bonds with others. She isn’t above being catty with other women and will sometimes just not like other women right off the bat. 

Her familial relationships with women are also just as complicated. She doesn’t really have many female relatives other than her mother, who she has an incredibly rough relationship with her. At this point in her life she just hates her mother. She doesn’t see any redeeming qualities in her and resents her just as much as her mother resents her.

27. Is there a female role model in her life?

Actually present in her life? Not really. Sadly her life has been kind of devoid of women to serve as a role model and have a presence in it. The closest is her cheer coach at SCU, but Sarah considers herself too old to really be looking for a woman to look up to. But in terms of just general role models, she really looks up to and adores Dolly Parton. Dolly is a woman who is never ashamed about being who she is or what people say about her. As much as we love Dolly today, she got a lot if criticism and shit thrown her way for her style, artistic choices, and just the way her body looks. Sarah really admires that and wants to be a similar kind of person.
