Yukimi no Daiomoru: Yuki is a childhood best friend of the the protagonist Kel, who is reunited her when Yuki is selected as part of the entourage of the Yamani princess Shinko, who has been arranged to marry the Tortallan prince and heir Roald.

She's pretty and funny and falls in love with Kel's best friend Neal, a knight in training like Kel. Neal can be a bit cocky, and once when Yuki, Kel, and Shinko were playing a tossing game with a shukusen (both a beautiful fan and deadly weapon) Neal stepped in to play and nearly got a limb sliced off because he didn't realize the fan was a weapon. This made Yuki really upset, even though they weren't quite in love yet.

Yuki realized the depths of her feelings for Neal when he was about to undergo the deadly test to become a night. After he survived, she gifted him her fan. But I'm sure she got another one. :)

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Episode 23 Review - Dungeon Raid

The second exam is about getting to the bottom of an unexplored dungeon! In all honesty, I love roaming around dungeons, so seeing these mages explore them like how one would in RPGs got the gamer in me excited! I relate so much to Himmel when it comes to dungeons because it’s always more exciting to see what a floor has before going down to the next floor! Sometimes, I can find extremely helpful items if I explore every unlooked corner!

Because the requirement is for the participant to reach the dungeon, it doesn’t matter if someone goes in alone or with others as long as they reach the bottom. Some people go in on their own while others are grouped up. Frieren and Fern go in together with Sense, the proctor, tagging along. Wirbel’s group go in together. It’s implied that Land and Ubel go in together. Kanne and Lawine go in together. This leaves Denken with his group and two more people. Methode and Lange group together with them and tread the dungeon. I do like seeing everyone’s different approach when it comes to a dangerous dungeon. Frieren likes to see what it has to offer. Some are pragmatic and prefer less risk while others want to group with familiar faces. The only way to fail the exam, other than dying, is to use the golem Sense provides

I do like the different approaches to dungeon raiding. Denken and a few others are pragmatic and try to be as cautious as possible. Then, there’s Frieren who walks around as if she’s the most seasoned dungeon explorer (which she is) and still gets caught up in mimic traps. I think the funniest part about all of this is that before Frieren gets caught in the mimic trap, Richter and Denken talk about how there wouldn’t be anyone foolish or stupid to fall for simple tricks like mimics, and then Frieren, the main character and the most OP mage in the story, falls for it. Why does she do this? It’s because mimic detection spells are 99% accurate, but she seeks out the 1% in hopes that it contains a rare grimoire. She’d be a gacha whale if she lived in the modern era.

As an RPG enthusiast, I love seeing people explore every nook and cranny and fight all sorts of monsters. Seeing that there are replicas of the participants make the dungeon raid even more difficult. I loved the scene of Denken’s group fighting Replica Laufen. The way the real and the copy go at it with their staffs was really good animation. Also, I feel bad for Denken’s group because they legit ran into the most OP replica of them all: Replica Frieren; his group is already down one person due to Lange using the golem to escape a spike trap.

Oh and two new voice actors were revealed for two characters. Methode is voiced by Reina Ueda. I’m familiar with her role as Miyo from My Happy Marriage and Mayu from Wonderful Precure. I didn’t expect to hear her voice a hot older lady and be good at it; she should do more. There’s also Taito Ban as Ton, the guy who went in by himself. He’s the voice actor for Sung Jinwoo from Solo Leveling. I guess there’s a reason why he went in by himself in a dungeon; let’s just hope he doesn’t run into any statues with creepy smiles.

Watching all of this just makes me want to play an RPG. Man, I haven’t played games in a long while. Frieren gives off that RPG vibe that I miss playing at times. What RPG franchise is your favorite? I love the Tales series, but their dungeons in recent installments have been very subpar… What are your thoughts on this episode?

Wonderful Precure! Ep1

as expected from the stuff they revealed before the premier this show is a lot more chill and feels good, I mean they didn't even beat the shit out of the villain guy and just beat it with a hug so that says a lot. I prefer the more serious ones but not every season can be like that so it's ok I guess. episode was good tho, as you'd expect from precure. they did a great job with portraying the animal behaviour for the main pets. I'm looking forward to when mayu and the cat become main members of the cast too since ueda reina voices mayu

Frieren Ep21

great episode (like usual ofc ofc), I was expecting some more action (tho we did get quite a bit) but what we got was very good so I can't complain. tho nothing as crazy as the sakuga in the fern stark fight. regardless of me wanting more action I loved this episode. I love power systems and learning more about them so this was a treat for me. also big shout out to mariya ise's performance as serie. I was already pogging when I saw the announcement that she was gonna do it, but actually hearing it and how deep it is was incredibly good

Cipher Academy Ch58 (Finale)

it really is over huh. it'll be a shame not having nisio on the magazine anymore, it's always a treat when he's around. anyway, I gave it a 9 but that's cause the art being so great elevated it from the 8. not nisio's best work but very enjoyable from start to finish. the story could be a bit confusing at times, with how it conveyed mostly through the cipher matches but it came together eventually. same thing for the characters, they were all very unique and fun, as usual for a nisio work, but the main way they interacted and we learned about them was through the cipher battles which could be hard to keep up with at times. my favourite is tayutan btw, she was very cool. and as I already said the art was GREAT the whole run. very creative ways to illustrate the puzzles and compositions, not to mention the very dynamic spreads we'd get all the time. looking forward to iwasaki's next work, be it together with nisio or not

Challenge Accepted pt. 4

The atmosphere in the WVBA Boxing Academy Gym was electric, buzzing with the energy of rookies and hopefuls, each one striving to make their mark. The rhythmic thud of gloves against bags and the clanking of weights coming to rest filled the air, creating a symphony of raw power and ambition.

Near the heavy bags, Glass Joe and Star Mika were engaged in a spirited touch boxing contest. Mika, dressed in a PreCure t-shirt and pink shorts, was giving it her all and light on her feet, but Joe, ever the gentleman, was winning handily.

"Ah, Mika, you must anticipate, not just react," Joe advised, dodging her jab with ease.

Mika grinned, her eyes twinkling. "Nakuha ko, Joe. But don't think you've won just yet," she retorted, lunging forward with a left jab.

"Very close, but not close enough," Joe said, tapping her lightly on the shoulder.

Mika sighed but smiled, clearly enjoying the challenge. "You're good, Joe. Really good."

A few feet away, Von Kaiser was putting Niki through her paces on another heavy bag. The stern but supportive German coach watched intently as Niki's hooks pounded the bag.

“Gut, Wenig Stahl! But remember, power comes from the hips, ja?" Von Kaiser instructed.

"Like this, Coach?" Niki responded, adjusting her stance and unleashing a series of more effective blows.

"Ja, gut gemacht," Von Kaiser nodded, pleased with her progress.

On a neighboring heavy bag, Vanessa Maxwell was running Skye Ivy through a final set of drills. Skye, her White Sox tank top and black shorts, was dripping with sweat but still full of energy, throwing punches with a dancer's grace but a boxer's impact.

Skye executed a one-two combo followed by a quick bob and pivot into a left hook, her gloves smacking the bag with precision. "How was that, Coach?"

"Good, Skye, but don't forget to pivot on that back foot when you throw the cross," Vanessa instructed as she demonstrated the movement.

"Got it, Coach," Skye said, adjusting her technique. "I want to be ready for Reina."

"You will be," Vanessa assured her, "just keep putting in the work. Now give me ten more jabs, and make them count!"

Skye's fists flew, each jab a burst of focused energy. "You got it, Coach!"

“That’s my girl!” Vanessa smiled, eyes filled with pride, as Skye’s fists stabbed the bag.

Meanwhile, Aran Ryan was also working a heavy bag, but his movements were tinged with frustration. His punches lacked their usual finesse, each one a manifestation of his growing irritation.

"Ah, for feck's sake! I've got a match with Sandman, and not one spar to prepare." Aran shouted, his Irish accent thickening with his rising irritation. "Any of you rookies fancy a go with a World Circuit contender?"

The gym fell silent. No one seemed eager to take up Aran's challenge. 

"Ah, what's the matter? Y'all scared?" Aran taunted, starting to show out and insult people. "Come on, don't be shy! Afraid you'll get your arses handed to you?"

Mika and Joe paused their touch boxing contest, both turning their attention to the spectacle unfolding before them. Mika clenched her fists, her eyes narrowing. "I've had enough of him. I'm going to—"

“Wait.” Joe gently grabbed her arm and pointed to a young lady calmly walking toward Aran. She was dressed in a plain sky blue tank top and light gray shorts, her white boxing gloves almost glowing in the gym's fluorescent lighting.

The young lady stopped in front of Aran, her expression cold and unreadable. "I'll spar with you," she said, her voice soft but firm.

Aran looked her over, his eyes raking her from head to toe. "You? Spar with me? Do you not know who I am?"

"I know exactly who you are," she replied, her voice eerily carrying an eerie calm that sent chills down the spines of everyone in the room. "The question is, do you know who you're challenging?"

Aran looked her up and down, a smirk forming on his lips. "Ah, look what we have here. A little birdie who thinks she can fly. You don’t want to do this, love? I won't be responsible for what happens to you."

The young lady simply smiled, a small, almost imperceptible curve of her lips. "You don't need to worry about me. Now, shall we?"

“A brave one, are ya, lass?” Aran chuckled, mockery in his eyes.  "And who do I have the pleasure of sending to the infirmary?" Aran asked, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

The young lady’s eyes never wavered, unfazed, unflinching, "My name is Alexandra, not 'lass' or ‘love’ or whatever else you were going to call me. Now get in the ring." Without another word, Alexandra turned and headed toward the closest ring.

The gym held its collective breath, everyone's eyes fixed on the ring. This was going to be interesting. Then, the whispers began. Everyone wondered about this mysterious young woman that had just thrown down the gauntlet.

So one of my favorite Precure characters is Cure Rosetta, and I love space, so I had to watch the episode where she takes her PERSONAL SPACEPLANE to SPACE!

I still love that she goes to space and has a spaceplane, but they really did no research on spaceplanes, did they? Like seriously, I don’t even need to look at it for more than two seconds to tell that it would be extremely unstable on the pitch axis, it looks like they took a random WW2 prop fighter and modified it to be jet powered, yet it’s still better than Reina’s prop plane in space.

May need to load KSP for the first time in months to make a somewhat realistic version of it.

So... Long time no see. I come back with a small offering.

Reina. (I think she's called Nellie in the Glitter Force dub?) I don't like DokiDoki too much guys, Imma be honest here, but she was such a memorable side character for me. Her rivarly with Alice was a riot. So I tried to make her a sort of "mature Alice" in terms of design, getting rid of all that poof Cure Rosetta had and instead opting for a more lean curves... Other than that, they share those twintailed lolita vibes.

Her symbol in the anime is a star, which is funny because the Joker symbol in card suites is also a star. So maybe she's Cure Joker? And since Ace already got the red color for herself, I went with the next best thing and Reina is that elusive once-every-ten-years Orange cure.

This is literally the ship that got me into fandom. I love those dorks. Rivals-to-friends-to-lovers? Yes, please! Just look at them! How precious they are!!

2. Catra x Adora (She Ra: Princesses of Power)

Friends-to-enemies-to-lovers? YES YES YES! All of hopes and dreams are riding on this ship becoming canon. I will kill someone if it doesn’t xD

3. Oumae Kumiko x Kousaka Reina (Hibke! Euphonium)

GODDAMNIT WHY WASN’T THIS SHIP CANON! AAAAAAAAAAAA!!! THEY’RE SO GAY!!! I love this anime so much and I especially love Kumiko’s lesbian ass getting dragged around by this distinguished oblivious bisexual. It’s definitely the best ship in the series unless you count Kumiko x Asuka which I in fact do but if I wanted to start fights I would’ve put Hanakko on here too.

4. Kotozume Yukari x Kenjou Akira (Kirakira Precure a la Mode)

Yukari x Akira is like the updated, improved version of Haruka x Michiru. Both characters are amazing on their own, and when they’re together I just fucking melt. I love me some adorable butch-femme pairings. Oh, and they’re pretty much canon in the series. And they literally kiss and get married in the extended media. They have a fucking duet and it’s uh-mazing!!

5. Marinette Dupain-Cheng x Adrien Agreste (Miraculous Ladybug)

You know a het ship is good when I, Canada’s premiere man-hating lesbian, love it. I’m actually posting this from beyond the grave because all the stress of this ship killed me. I love the dynamics between these dorks and how their secret identities complicate things to ridiculous hair-pulling extents.

Fantasy Rise! Precure

What better way to start this blog than the FanRise Team! Info on the cures/Mascots below: ___________ Cures Reina/Cure Royal: With a calm and collected attitude. She comes from a wealthy family consisting of her mother and two younger siblings. Her love for animals comes in the form of her pets: A very loyal golden retriever and a horse she keeps in her family stables. She believes that all animals are beautiful and should be treated with love and care. She often finds herself protecting stray cats from the rain and doing other small, but kind acts to help the animals around her. Avery/Cure Knight:  She has a bit more of the shy, nerdy personality, and has a lot of irrational fears. Animals have always given her this type of "Fear" were she saw them as imposing and grand.Despite this she really enjoys learning more about them. She is often the voice of reason when Reina and Val argue. Even though there is no "Leader cure" in this trio, I feel like Avery would eventually end up getting the role Valerie “Val”/ Cure Wild:  A loud, and sometimes annoying girl. Her parents have allways taught her to stand up for her believes, which has made her this kind of rebelious and stubborn teenager. One of this ideas is the fact that animals should be able to live in the wild, and not be hunted down or used for make up/medical testing. She is vegan, since she does not support the way most farms treat their animals and would rather not eat those poor creatures. She sometimes finds herself butting heads with Reina. ___________ Mascots Cotton: A Unicorn with a very sweet and friendly attitude, He really apreciates acts of kindness, and thus finds Reina to be a good choice for a Precure Fang: The best way to describe this dragon would be persistent. She has allways helped strong warroirs and is set on turning Avery into the brave woman she knows is hiden behind her insecurities Pluma: A lazy hippogryph that usually doesn’t pay attention to their surroundings. They see val as this hardworking girl that really needs to take things with a bit more of calm and enjoy the little things rather than focussing on the negatives Apologies if there are any spelling errors, english isn’t my native language haha
