Take some THSC but pokemon (Could be seen as PMD if you squint)
Tumblr media
(Any and all miscolorations are intentional. Hopefully)
Henry's a Hisuian Sneasel (Ignore the fact that'd be impossible, Henry's just weird)
Ellie's a Roselia (You can't see it but her flowers are red and purple)
Charles is a Flygon (But everybody knows that)
RHM's a Stoutland (I dunno, They just give off the same vibe. Maybe it's the mustache)
Reginald's a Diancie, But there's actually a funny story behind that one. I thought it'd be really funny if Reg's a mythical that doesn't know how to fight on his own. Also, I think he'd be flashy enough to be one
The Carbink aren't meant to be anybody in particular, It would just make sense for them to be around if Reg is a Diancie. Maybe they're just loyal Toppat Clan members

Alright y'all, this is it, the Pokemon AU nobody wanted
So Kuai Liang is the ice type gym leader, having taken over after his brother resigned. His team consists of:
A Regice named Reginald that originally belonged to his mother, A Froslass named Lian, A Glaceon named Blizzard, A Sneasel named Thief that he caught breaking into the gym after hours one night, A Lapras named Tides and an Aurorus named Sky.
Bi-Han was the ice type gym leader originally and his team was:
Dewdrop the Dewgong, Nicholas the Delibird, Iceberg the Avalugg, Spike the Alolan Sandslash, Gorilla the Galarian Darmanitan, and Bear the Beartic (he's not very creative)
After an accident which killed them all (I'm sorry) he resigned and disappear for a while, eventually turning up again as the Dark type gym leader with a team of:
Queen the Weavile, Scavenger the Mandibuzz, Snow the Absol, Shadow the Zorua, Nyx the Umbreaon and Witch the Murkrow
Hanzo is the Dragon type gym leader, the first to establish such a gym and his team is:
A Vibrava named Akie that originally belonged to his wife, Isamu the Dragapult, Kanako the Drampa, Masaru the Kommo-o, Sachie the Noivern and Tarou the Dragonair.
Frost is a trainee at the Lin Kuei gym, hoping to become the next leader. She started working there bc shde kept challenging Kuai Liang and losing so he just gave her a job and started to train her instead. Her team is:
An Alolan Vulpix named Azure that was her first and only pokemon for years, a Sneasel named Crimson that she hatched from an egg given to her by Kuai Liang (an egg Thief had laid but he hasn't told her that), Aurora the Frosmoth, Cub the Cubchoo, Obsidian the Glalie, and Chowder the Cloyster
I have other ideas but they are less fleshed out: Liu Kang is the fire type gym leader (chosen over Kung Lao who want on to become the champion of the elite four though nobody knows that), Raiden is electric gym leader, Sonya is fighting gym leader, Johnny is still a celebrity but he got famous through being a pokemon trainer first and then became an actor, and Mileena is the fairy type gym leader, having taken over after Kitana left.
Lemme know if anybody wants more, I can make more

BANANASAUROS: Pbrrr…
BANANASAUROS {thought}: Aaaay, Punchy. It’s all cool, brah. I was dumped by a few women in my past life. (Granted, it was my fault for playing the field badly) Let’s go play some Call of Duty, dude.
PUNCHY: …Yeah. Give me lots of time to recover, then ask me again, banana-hopper.
CHRIS: I sincerely apologize, but time is short for this episode, with two pages left, so I’m summarizing the remainder.
CHRIS {narration}: So, after Layla leaves, she takes a cab to her temprary care-giving trainer, (like how volunteers temp care for cats and dogs, or like a volunteer big sibling) William Falkner. He lets her stay at his house, then the next day…
Caption: December 23, 3:30 PM, at an M.C.D…
CHRIS {narration}: Layla finds Reginald, recognizes him, and asks to share the table while she eats and searches the web for a job and a place to rent on her phone.
LAYLA: How have you been since the class?
REGINALD: Eh… I could be better right now.
Caption: December 27, 7:30 PM, Layla’s apartment…
CHRIS {narration}: Reginald had not found a new place yet, so Layla invites him to bunk with her. A few days later, she finds a good place to rent, and a job at the electric company as a secretary in power management. Reginald moves in with her.
REGINALD: I’ll take the couch; you have the bed.
LAYLA: Nonsense, cutie. Come to bed with me.
Chris buts in to announce that the episode is almost over (I don’t know why he feels the need to wrap this up; it’s not like he had a strict time limit or anything. I guess he was just bored of this episode).
Seeing as Ivy is still dead, Layla is without a friend in the world, so she’s briefly taken under the wing of a “[temporary] care-giving trainer”. Her temp trainer shares his name with mid-Twentieth Century American novelist William Faulkner (whose birth name was in fact Falkner without the U), famous for The Sound and the Fury (1929) and As I Lay Dying (1930). Though Faulkner is from and strongly associated with his home state of Mississippi, he was briefly the writer-in-residence at the University of Virginia, where Chris was known to stalk girls at in his youth, so it’s possible Chris became familiar with his work through his time spent there (or it’s possible that he was assigned one of his books during his schooling, but given how well he did on most of his English assignments I doubt he would remember it). It’s also not impossible that this character is named for this Falkner, the Flying-Type gym leader from Johto, seeing that he and the Flaaffy Pokemon debuted in the same games.
After leaving Falkner’s care, she reunites with her old community college buddy Reginald Sneasel, and they meet for food at McDonald’s, possibly the same McDonald’s where Punchy and Layla had their first date. After getting a place of her own and getting a real job (apparently she wasn’t already working, like an unmarried and childless housewife), she invites Reginald not only into her house but into her bed, cementing their new relationship.

POKÉMON AUTUMN VERSION: Rise from Fall CHAPTER 7: A Test of Strength - Reginald & Kaitlyn VS Craig
Tumblr media
Disclaimer:  Pokémon is a property of Game Freak and Nintendo, while Endless  Summer is a property of Pixelberry. I do not claim any rights here.
Author’s Note: You are now witnessing the battle between Reginald Rourke, Kaitlyn McKenzie and Craig Hsiao. To get back to the main Blog Post of Chapter 7, click here. If “Keep Reading” doesn’t work, click here for the full post.
Recommended Music: Hoenn Gym Battle
Reginald and Kaitlyn nod at each other and look back at Craig.
Kaitlyn: Both Reggie and I want to take you on together.
Craig: Ooh! The kids of my best buds working together, eh? Chyeah boi! Let’s do it!
Reginald: Excellent!
Reginald looks at a battlefield filled with fake trees.
Reginald: What’s that for?
Craig: Oh, that’s for the Agility and Reflex Challenge.
Kaitlyn: Then we’ll go with that one!
Reginald: Agreed.
Craig leads the two kids to the battlefield while Taari and Elesis sit by the sides. Craig stands at the center and pulls out his pokéball.
Craig: Now, the point of this challenge...
He then tosses his pokéball upwards, calling out a Passimian. The Teamwork Pokémon stands on one of the fake tree’s branches.
Craig: ... is to take my Passimian’s coconut away from him.
Reginald: I see. And I assumed you trained him to be very agile.
Craig: Ya know it, li’l buddy!
Kaitlyn: This is so exciting!
Craig continues to explain the challenge.
Craig: Now that you guys understand what to do, the condition is to NOT get hit by Passimian’s attacks 3 times or else, you lose. But since there are two of you challenging me, we’ll make it 5 times, as a generous offer.
Kaitlyn: Deal!
Craig: You can use attacks as well to slow down my Passimian.
Reginald: Understood.
Craig: Right then! Call out your Pokémon.
Reginald and Kaitlyn pull out their pokéballs and toss them upwards, calling out their partners.
Reginald: Go, Sneasel!
Kaitlyn: I’m counting on you, Raichu!
Sneasel and Raichu come out of their respective pokéballs and both stand on a branch. Craig’s referee stands by a gong and strikes it, indicating the start of the match. Reginald makes the first move.
Reginald: Sneasel, use Night Slash!
Sneasel claws glow purple as she leaps from branch to branch, attempting to reach Passimian with great speed. Craig grins.
Craig: Alright, Passimian, use Electroweb!
Passimian leaps backwards and tosses a small electric sphere towards Sneasel. The sphere opens up into a web of electricity as it latches onto two branches. With Sneasel in the air after leaping, she is unable to change her momentum and she ends up getting caught and shocked by the Electroweb attack.
Reginald: Damn!
Craig chuckles.
Craig: People usually rush at my Passimian the moment the battle starts. Electroweb’s a good counter to that. And would you look at that, you guys are already 4 attacks from losing.
Kaitlyn: You know, it’s not like you to come up with things like these, Mister Craig.
Craig’s confidence quickly turns to annoyance.
Craig: Hey! Don’t think so little of me!
He crosses his arms.
Craig: Gee, you may be Jake’s adopted kid but you got his sarcasm.
Reginald: Did you really come up with these counters?
Craig: Pfft! Yeah!....
Soon, Craig rubs the back of his head.
Craig: ....with a little help from Sean and Zahra.
Kaitlyn: HA! Knew it!
Craig: Just shut up and continue the battle!
Kaitlyn chuckles as she delivers her order.
Kaitlyn: Raichu, use Agility!
Raichu leaps from tree to tree with inhumane speeds as she rushes towards Passimian.
Craig: That’s more like it! Passimian, use Seed Bomb!
Passimian scatters seeds towards Raichu and they start to make cracking sounds. Kaitlyn gasps.
Kaitlyn: Raichu, get outta there!
With the help of Agility, Raichu is able to get out of harm in time, saving them from having 3 strikes left before losing.
Craig: Heh, nice reflexes. But...
Passimian lands on the ground, standing behind a tree beside Sneasel and Raichu.
Craig: Use Iron Tail!
Passimian’s tail hardens and glows white as he strikes the fake tree, causing it to fall towards Sneasel and Raichu. The tree is made of cardboard, so it may not hurt the two Pokémon but it still hits them.
Craig: Haha! Two birds with one stone!
Kaitlyn: Damn it!
Reginald: Two more hits and we’re done for.
Craig: Use Acrobatics, Passimian.
Passimian jumps from tree to tree. He sometimes wave his coconut around, toying with his opponents.
Kaitlyn: I got an idea.
Reginald: Go ahead.
Kaitlyn whispers her plan to Reginald and they nod at each other afterwards. Reginald turns to Sneasel.
Reginald: Sneasel, use Ice Shards!
Sneasel nods and conjures multiple shards of ice around her. She then fires them towards Passimian but the latter is able to evade them at the last second.
Kaitlyn: Raichu, use Volt Tackle!
Large amounts of electricity surges throughout Raichu’s body as she climbs up a tree and leaps towards Passimian.
Craig: Tch! Use Iron Head!
Passimian notices Raichu coming towards him. And so, his head hardens and glows white as he bashes Raichu. The Mouse Pokémon is blown back to a tree trunk and winces in pain.
Craig: Ha! Only one strike left! Passimian, use Seed Bo--
Craig’s eyes widen as he notices something; Passimian’s coconut is no longer in sight.
Craig: What the?! Where’d it go?!
Passimian looks up and spots his coconut, struck by an ice shard that is latched on a tree trunk above him.
Reginald: Now, Sneasel! Use Ice Punch!
Sneasel clenches her fist and punches the ground. An ice spire rises from the ground as Sneasel is raised up towards the coconut.
Craig: I don’t think so. Use Seed Bomb!
Passimian readies to scatter a handful of seeds but...
Kaitlyn: Electroweb!
Passimian notices Raichu leaping towards him as she tosses a web of electricity. Passimian is caught inside the web and is shocked by the electricity surging throughout the web. With no one to stop her, Sneasel reaches the coconut and takes it for herself. Reginald and Kaitlyn celebrate and share a high five.
Reginald: Yes!
Kaitlyn: We did it!
Sneasel and Raichu help Passimian out of the Electroweb and gives him back his coconut. The three trainers approach their Pokémon and congratulate them with their hard work.
Craig: That was awesome, ya’ll!

Alright guys here's a little break from our regularly scheduled comic to bring you a small explanation of Reginald's new evolution Wendivile. There are three color variations. The first is what it would look like had a regularly colored sneasel evolved the second is it's shiny and the third is of course Reginald's colors. Design-wise I of course based it off the Wendigo of Algonquin folklore. Without further a due lets get into the bio shall we Name: Wendivile Category: Wendigo Pokemon Type: Dark/Ice Evolves from: Sneasel (when exposed to He who watches from the mirrors power) Height: 8'2 Weight: 200 lbs Ability: Ithaqua's winter (Causes hail to fall for as long as Wendivile is on the field, said hail has 30% chance of causing Poison, Paralysis, Confusion, Burn or Freezing whenever it hits the opponent.) As always hope you enjoy and tell me what you think Pokemon owned by nintendo

first person shooter where you're battling evil ambulatory doors, and your only weapon are keys. red keys, yellow keys, blue keys, each kind defeats a different class of door monster, and you have to navigate mazes filled with them while looking for the exit.
periodically you will encounter an even bigger, sturdier monster that does not attack but completely arrests your progress, like some kinda big ogre thing. it's not a door so your keys don't work on it. however, hidden somewhere in the maze is the Shotgun. the Shotgun is useless against the door monsters- keys are the only things that can kill a door, of course- but the Shotgun will kill the big ogre thing blocking the hallway and let you access another part of the maze

"Reginald, The (Mega) Diancie, Challenged Henry to a battle!"
(A Fairy/Rock type vs a Poison/Fighting type. This should be a pretty even fight, Depending on what moves are used)
Why does Mega Diancie's design need to be so complicated? I love it, But why?
Some lore dump under the cut
According to Pokedex entries, Diancie was a Carbink that when through a mutation of sorts (Like evolution, But slightly different). So obviously, Reg was a Carbink at some point. He became a Diancie during a battle with a certain Weavile (I'll let you guess who that is).
Here's where I take some inspiration from Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction. Reginald isn't exactly a very powerful Diancie. He can make jewels, But they disappear after a few minutes at most. He will spend sleepless nights trying to perfect his skills, To the point where Right basically has to drag him to sleep.
Reg can't actually mega evolve yet, He isn't strong enough. But when he eventually does, He'll become a force to be reckoned with.
(I'm also thinking that maybe this universe's version of the jewels hold some sort of power that fuels/protects this world. With the Tunisian Diamond being hidden deep within the secret cave where Reg, Right, and the Carbink live. I'm still ironing that idea out though)

MARY LEE {thought}: Oh well… he wins this time. I’m tired and I’ve done enough for now.
MARY LEE: Count, ensphere me and take us home.
COUNT GRADUON: Yes, Slaweel.
COUNT GRADUON {thought}: She’ll fall soon…
Caption: Meanwhile, below…
SONICHU: Thank you for catching me, sweetheart.
ROSECHU: That’s okay, honey-bolt. We watched your bought from down here. Why did you save her?
SONICHU: Well, as a hero, I could not help but to answer her cry. Besides which, the true final blow on that witch belongs only to Christian. Now, let’s help put the city back together, then let’s head home for dinner and “Mary Poppins” with our children.
Sign: Country Cookin’
Sign: CWCville Shopping Center
Let’s be clear here - Sonichu retreated. No one said that Mary Lee accepted defeat until she said she accepted defeat. Mary Lee was just saved by Sonichu, then he ran away, and then she said “I’m going to throw in the towel”. And despite the fact that Graduon just said that he was more than okay with letting Mary fall to her death, she tells Graduon to make a bubble, they’re going home. Graduon even ominously states “she’ll fall soon” - but Graduon, you’re carrying Mary several hundred feet above the ground. Unless removing this psychic bubble at this height would be liable to kill you too, why don’t you take the opportunity to kill her right now? Nevertheless, we’re meant to take away from this that Graduon and Mary’s formerly solid relationship is now on the rocks and their partnership will soon come to an end.
As an inverse of the earlier scene where Sonichu caught the unconscious Rosechu, Rosie returns the favor by catching Sonichu. She questions why Sonichu didn’t let Mary fall. He answers with the expected “I’m a classical, bleeding-heart hero who saves friend or foe”, with the added note that he believes he shouldn’t be the one to finish off Mary Lee, rather since this has been Christian’s vendetta all this time, only he has the motive to do her serious harm.
Team EHP gathers at the bottom of the screen, and Sonichu says that they’ll put in an appearance at the cleanup, then head on back to watch Chris’s favorite film, Mary Poppins, with his three children, seen here for the first time. From left to right (and oldest to youngest) we have Cerah, Christine, and Robbie. The three will get more individual characterization in the issues to come, but until they evolve, the three are just there to be cloying. Cerah is the only one of the three without a common name, though it’s assumed that she’s named after one of the many Sarahs in Chris’s life, most likely either Sarah Hammer or Sarah Cassandra McKenzie (Pandahalo). Christine’s name is a bit more obvious, and in fact Tomgirl Chris would later share the same name. Robbie was likely named after Chris’s father, or possibly the titular character from Chris’s second favorite film, The Adventures of the American Rabbit, Robert Rabbit, or less likely Robert Simmons V.

WILD {IM}: Hello.
SIMONLA {IM}: Hello.
WILD: Nice day, isn’t it
SIMONLA: Yes, it is… how do you like the class?
WILD: It’s cool, even though I am usually wild, I feel shy around women. U?
PUNCHY {IM}: Hey. ‘Sup?
LAYLA {IM}: Hello. Uh… I’m feelin’ baashful.
PUNCHY: It’s cool. I would be shy myself, if I had not set my eyes on my goal.
LAYLA: :O How do you know you’ll still want her at the end of the semester?
LAYLA {thought}: My mind is a blank.
PUNCHY {IM}: I think I stand in good chances; she is a good girl :)
LAYLA {IM}: Really? Won’t you even give me a try before you go baa-bye?
PUNCHY: Ooh. R U jealous? ;)
REGINALD: Hey, Ponch, I hear your partner had a daddy Tauros, and loathes the color red; she likes women.
PUNCHY {thought}: Don’t mess with me, man.
SIMONLA {IM}: Same here. I get goose-pimply around guys a bit.
WILD {IM}: No worries. I promise not to bite. :D Do you like me so far?
SIMONLA: I am enjoying our chat so far. ;) You’re doing good.
The course of this day’s classes are played out in a montage. The pairings are connected via jagged white lines across the center of the page, signifying their electronic communication. Wild and Simonla hit it off immediately, because, perhaps from the inception of her character, Chris had destined her for a happy existence in his happy little fantasy world, and a loving husband in the form of Wild Sonichu, and a future with happy children, whether they be sons or daughters. It was that evil Evan that ripped these lovebirds apart, angered at the changes made to his fan character. See, fan portrayals of Wild tended to make him gay (most famously Asperchu, though that had yet to start at this point), and Chris was really pushing to find him a mate, any mate. So he changed Evan’s male Simonchu character into a female for Wild to get together with. Evan was not fond of this arrangement, done without his permission, so he conspired to take Simonla out of the picture.
The other couple on the page was having a bit more drama. Punchy is still intending to court Angelica and he makes no bones about telling his partner that he cares not at all for her. Despite her apparent apathy towards this situation, based off of her thought bubble, Layla attempts to talk Punchy down and convince him his attraction to Angelica won’t pan out, suggesting herself as a replacement in his heart. Layla’s speech is punctuated with “baa” signifying her past as a sheep, but while this would make sense as a verbal tic, this is written language, so Layla, aside from giving Punchy a clue to her identity as subtle as a two-by-four to the face, has no need to write out “baa-shful.”
Reginald, jealous little skank he is, tries to undermine Punchy and Layla’s newfound chemistry. I suppose his statements are meant to be a “two truths and a lie” sort of thing, the lie being that Layla is a lesbian. A Tauros is a species of Pokemon that resembles a bull (obviously), and it can breed with a the Mareep line, implying that Layla’s parents might be a Tauros and a Mareep/Flaaffy/Ampharos. Given that it says that “most of [the rumors] were verified false”, and Layla’s not a lesbian and given that she has no problems fucking the very red Punchy later, it’s safe to say she has no real aversion to the color red, I guess we’re meant to assume that the rumor that her father was a Tauros is the one fleeting thing Reginald got correct, though we never meet Layla’s parents (given that Reginald says that she “had” a Tauros father, it’s possible that he’s no longer in Layla’s life.)
Interestingly, whatever Chris uses to add that dialogue wouldn’t let him use two different fonts on the same page (or Chris was lazy) and Reginald’s speech and Punchy’s thought are written in the same, non-Comic Sans font as the IM’s. Page 19 uses both Comic Sans and the IM font, so I’m leaning towards Chris was being lazy.

SARAH JACKARAS: Reginald? Simonla? Wild?
REGINALD SNEASEL: Here!
SIMONLA: Here!
WILD: Snergen-Flergen!
SARAH JACKARAS: What?
WILD: Uh… here!
SARAH JACKARAS: Oh-kay.
SARAH JACKARAS: Let’s get started with greetings.
Top left we are introduced to Reginald Sneasel, who, again, strangely has the same name as Simonla’s hypothetical son. It’s long been said that Reginald is, after going an entire issue (aside from a one page cameo) with no appearances, Chris finally installed a self-insert that was technically not him. Note that never in the Pokemon universe has a Sneasel been as bright a blue as Reginald - regular Sneasels are dark blue with red feathers and shinies are pink with gold feathers. Also of interest is Reginald’s eye colors - This picture has them both be green, but in other drawings, they’re done one blue, one green, just like you know who.
Wild is struck with a bout of RAH and announces “Snergen-Flergen” when his name is called. This is Chris’s idea of humor. “Snergen” and “Flergen” are nonsense words (although my computer isn’t flagging them as misspellings, so it’s possible that they’re obscure surnames), and Chris thinks stringing together rhyming nonsense is the pinnacle of humor. Wild seems to be suggesting that Wild is looking to be the “class clown” in Ms. Jackaras’ class, but the DAT 303 quiz at the end suggests that this is not an ideal archetype to resemble. Despite this, Wild is engaged to another classmate by the time finals roll around.

Caption: Later, at CWCville Park…
ANGELICA: I feel for you. An important lesson from your class that should be on the test is that you have to forget your fears and talk to the woman before she can be swept away by someone else.
REGINALD: Yeah. Thank you for listening. Layla was cute, but I guess I’ll get over it. You’re pretty too, Angelica. But you probably wouldn’t go out with me.
ANGELICA: Nonsense. I think you’re sweet, handsome and honest. I would love to continue hanging out with you.
REGINALD: Really?
ANGELICA: Really. :) How would you like to have dinner at my place tonight?
REGINALD: I’d love that.
Chris pairs up the two remaining major players from this issue, Reginald and Angelica, seemingly for the simple reason of Angelica having been shafted when Chris decided to make Punchy and Layla a thing. Problem is, she’s paired up with Reginald. Up until this point, you’d be forgiven for assuming that Reginald isn’t a character you’re supposed to sympathize with. He’s the jealous interloper between Punchy and Layla. He’s the Cal to their Jack and Rose, the Jud Fry to their Curly and Laurey, the unworthy romantic rival who is pretty jealous and a even a little vengeful. And all of his actions thus far seem to support that archetype - he got jealous that someone else was paired up with the girl he wanted, he was presumably a dick to Florence in their IMs, he spread rumors about Layla, when that didn’t work he cut Punchy’s computer wires, and Chris was heavily considering a version of this story where he slashes Punchy’s tires. Not exactly the kind of guy we want to see ride off as happily into the sunset as the leads. Generally the only time the “Pair the Spares” trope is invoked for an unvictorious romantic rival is for when they’re a generally upstanding guy but just not quite as nice or not quite as cool as the victorious lover, and when the audience actually feels bad for them ending up alone. Reginald’s not that kind of character, and as little as she does pretty much the entire audience believes Angelica deserves better than him. I suppose that Chris was trying to paint it as a love-redeeming-a-bad-boy story, where Angelica, the only soul kind enough to care for Reginald, made him a nicer person, but their relationship seems so rushed it doesn’t feel like there was any meeting in the middle at all.

REGINALD: Angel, we did it!
Angelica’s marvelous skills have allowed her to spare her beloved home church the carnage of having a fighter jet dropped on it, the jets having fallen into a star shape around it. I know he was enlarged so you could see him and the whole church, but as it is, Reginald is about as tall as the church itself is in this shot.
After a wave of blue that might supposed to be a watery screen wipe to explain a scene transition, we jump to Blake & Bubbles.
