Wu Xi closed his eyes for an instant. Only after he'd steeled himself did he speak.

"Are you happy now?" he asked.

For a second, he worried that he'd gone too far. But Beiyuan didn't get angry. He only looked shocked, as if he hadn't ever even considered that. And then he turned very pale. He looked like he was about to crumble any second. Wu Xi couldn't bring himself to care about propriety any longer. He reached out and surrounded him with a hug.
