I’m watching re/member on netflix and it’s pretty lacklustre but I can almost appreciate the gen-z approach to being killed. It’s about this group of high schoolers who get stuck in some cursed time loop where they repeat the same day over and over again, and they get killed by a bloody little girl every night. their main objective is to find all her missing body parts and piece it back together. they all remember everything the night prior, so they quickly form a team to cover more ground. I just think it’s funny because after their initial realization of what’s going on they all just accept their lives as it is... they die miserably every night, but in the morning when they go back to school they eat pumpkin croquettes and go to the beach. the narrative that they’re still youthful and fun despite getting their intestines pulled out every night is so hilarious to me. It’s like final destination, saw and whatever coming of age youth drama mixed together. It’s an interesting little flick I’ll give them that.

Jack's Horror Movie Review: Re/Member (Body Search)
Tumblr media
Tagline: we can defeat this ghost with the power of friendship (and a chainsaw)
Entertainment value: 10/10, not a boring movie, even the montages were fun and i say that as an adhder who tends to hate montages.
Genres: horror, black comedy, teen movie, based on a manga, paranormal
Content Warnings: gore, animal death (kind of), child murder
Groundhogs Day meets Battle Royale; Re/Member makes me remember when M. Night was fun to watch. Practical effects! Creative deaths! Beach episode! (In the middle of the movie, you might ask? Yes).
One thing I especially love about Japanese horror is that it knows exactly how seriously to take itself. It treats the goofy moments as goofy, which actually allows the horror to shine through more genuinely. Did I mention practical effects?
Overall review: 4.5 /5 stars. There were maybe a few places that could've been tightened up but overall an entertaining watch. Some questions I still have pertain to Rie's boyfriend and what the deal really was with Emily.
As always if you have Thots on this please share, particularly if you read the original manga.

I thought this movie was great.
Not sure if it's based on a Manga or graphic novel, wouldn't be surprised though. A lot of cool stuff are getting made from books or web toon series.
movie: Re/Member
platform: Netflix Japan.

Spoilers for the movie Re/member!!
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Okay so does anyone have any idea on the credit scene of the movie Re/member? Because you know the newspaper headline turned into our main characters name instead of the little girl that died. And the church(?) didn't look like it was in restoration. It more looked like it was from the past but how far? Because you know Asuka was fricking ALIVE?? And the newspaper turned into the headline she was alive?
Hold on my friend just remembered something remember when Takahiro was gonna tell a story about something that happened in a theme park and she said lets not talk about that? The newspaper said she died in a theme park!
So maybe she is a dead soul or body like the red girl?

Just watched Re/Member
6 high-schoolers of different circles and personalities are trapped in a time loop where they need to find mutilated body parts of a girl or a ghost girl slaughters them instead.
Despite the premise, this is quite feel-good movie for me.
It has the same spirit as Happy Death Day: A time loop that ends with grisly murder at the end of the day in which the one(s) subjected to it end(s) up trying to be a better person in the process. They even have the fun montage of the trapped ones planning and dying over and over again lol.
Why does every Asian ghost move like that O_O
Correctly guessed that this is from a manga but tbh I like the live action more.
I wholeheartedly believe this movie has a happy ending and the post-credit has nothing to do with the ending the cast finally gets after literal tears and blood.

In honor of me watching Re/Member and then looking up the cast, Happy Birthday to Kotaro Daigo, aka Shôta!
I absolutely loved Shôta's character, especially his dorkiness once he got closer to the other five.
I absolutely recommend this movie if it's available to you!

// re/member (karada sagashi) spoilers
kay so, i finished the movie and it was actually okay.
got me thrilled, there were fine-ass characters (shota and takahiro my bbgs <3), i felt like tearing up twice and i think it was fascinating the fact that the production team worked with warner bros as well (then again, the sweet home production team also worked with hollywood teams so yea). the graphics, the dynamic between the 6 of them, and the ending was quite satisfying, even though only takahiro seemed to remember asuka, while the others forgot how close they got.
altough the post-credit scene can leave you with serious question marks. and the only scenes i actually considered 'scary' were when the girlie's picture from the newspaper started to turn into a zombified version (those little worms did creep me out) and the first time we saw the girlie's moster version combined with her doll. that eye still gave me serious heebie-jeebies.
overall, i'd say an 8/10. really good movie but it didn't scare me out that much (grew up well with watching sweet home, aouad and aib all in the span of one year).

"Re/Member"
