I'm being blackmailed and I don't care
Yesterday I woke up to an email listing all my existing passwords, a screenshot of my desktop and a PDF file. Here's a screenshot:
Basically I've become a victim of ransomeware and he's threatening to doxx me.
I'm obviously not going to pay them, even if I could afford it, because they won't keep to their word and they'll just want more. Plus idk how tf the bitcoin stuff works.
Anyway they said they're going to create a fake nsfw video of me (probably using deepfake or something? Idk) and they said they're going to send it to people. They're probably bluffing because it seems like a lot of effort to do all that even tho they already have all my data anyway but if anyone sees any fake weird videos or information about me just report it please. I'm warning all of you about it now to clear up any confusion there might be in the future. Plus since alot of people I know online are minors I'm concerned you'll get sent something like that so don't interact and just block/report.
The funny thing is, this isn't the worse thing that happened to me yesterday. I experienced something way worse than this so this is more of an annoyance than anything. I think my stress reached its peak and now I just don't care. I've been on flight or fight for so long that I just can't be bothered anymore.
I think the guy is bluffing for the most part. Even so he had passwords and he installed malware on my PC to access it. I'm not sure how this happened because I've been on the regular sites I'm always on unless someone who used my PC went on a dodgy site. Either way there's nothing I can really do. Just another annoyance I have to deal with.
And idk why he said he had access to my video camera. My webcam has been covered by black tape ever since I got my PC so I think the PDF file he sent me is something he sends everyone who falls victim to this.
The guy who did this is obviously not right in the head just by judging the way he talks in the PDF file.
Anyway I've just accepted it. It doesn't matter. Nothing matters. I have bigger things to worry about than this. Maybe I should be worrying more about this but what's the point? I can't stop it. I won't be making any posts or messages for a while.
