if you were to ask zeva amin how she grew up, she would say something like “alarmingly average” or that it was a “modest upbringing”. her parents owned a rather successful cleaning business, and so as a child zeva would go along with her mother to clean these gorgeous, sprawling estates, and would wonder why they didn’t live like that. why did these people get to have so much, when zeva’s family didn’t? they certainly didn’t struggle, but they also didn’t live the life of excess that zeva’s mother’s client’s families did, and that’s what she wanted. what she came to crave.
zeva has always been a “force of nature”, according to her family, and the apple of her parents’ eye, given how she is their only child, with very few cousins or other family members to share the attention with.
despite her “humble upbringing”, zeva always craved more; pushed her parents to do more, to be more, to strive for more. they had already become friendly with some of their clients, but upon zeva’s insistence, they started cultivating those relationships, and ultimately, it paid off. they got her foot in the door for a scholarship to a prestigious prep school, one of their clients insisting that zeva would be perfect for it, and would be in the same class as her daughter.
zeva had always excelled in school, had always pushed herself to be the best, having developed a love for reading from a young age. the first time she heard the phrase ‘knowledge is power’ it stuck with her, and she has used it to her advantage ever since. her first year at the prep school was rough, and she had to fight to fit in, given that most of the students either already knew each other or knew of each other, since their families were well connected and most were legacies. but zeva is not the type to allow herself to fade into the background, not letting her background and lack of pre-established connections set her back as she forged her own connections, made friends with the right people and got in where she could to better her own circumstances.
zeva would say she was well-known and well-liked throughout her time at the prep school, although certainly not universally liked. she made some ‘necessary’ enemies as she fought her way near the top of the food chain, doing absolutely anything she could to be the best of the best, to gain the life of excess and prestige she believes she deserves. what people didn’t realize, was just how much she was working behind the scenes and little things she set in motion to work things to her advantage.
still, despite all of zeva’s hard work and efforts in applying to every ivy league she could, she only got accepted to one and she couldn’t afford to go. radcliffe was her next best option, the school basically as good as an ivy league just without the actual classification, and according to zeva, she would “rather be a big fish in a small pond, than a small fish in a big pond”. so she took her scholarship to radcliffe and hasn’t looked back, set on making a name for herself and owning a sprawling estate of her own one day, and a legacy to go along with it.

nathan was born into a broken family. his parents were way too young, about to turn seventeen and eighteen, when they found out about him. their families didn't approve of the pregnancy, begging them to think about other options, but they refused. it's safe to say things did not turn great for them after that. they became estranged from their relatives, starting their own little family the only way they could at that moment. they moved to a small trailer park just before nathan was born. his father, david, had found a job at the local car workshop as a mechanic, bringing some small amounts of money home while tessa took care of baby nathan.
the next years would be filled with sacrifice and struggle for the young couple. after their honeymoon phase, the fights were constant, growing louder and more violent each time. nathan observed it all, often questioning if it would all end someday. when he noticed the odds were against him, he gave up trying to change anything. for him, the everlasting toxicity of his parents' relationship became the norm.
the young hawke would grow up exhausted. when he was a teenager, he would join some clubs and the soccer team, occupying his time and mind with those activities, hoping to escape the hours of shouting he had to endure in his home. later on, he also started working some little jobs here and there, saving some of the money for himself. two of the jobs, dog walking, and pet-sitting, really took his mind off his problems. their parents never let him have pets, so he never discovered how much he loved them. aside from those odd jobs, he would often volunteer in the animal shelter located near the trailer park. since then, he knew he had to work with animals.
when the time came, he applied to radcliffe university, wanting to study veterinary medicine. when he discovered they had accepted him, he couldn't be happier. that letter meant the daily fights would end, so he could finally be able to breathe. now, a graduate student, he can't imagine what his life would look like if he hadn't left for uni. that campus has been his home for years - one that doesn't hurt as much as the one he's always been used to.

BIOGRAPHY
if you were to ask bellamy, it couldn’t have been possible to have born as the sole daughter to two people with bigger brains. her mother crunched numbers like nobody's business and ran the finance department of a big law firm back in seattle, while her father practically knew how to code in his sleep and was contracted by companies to design their expensive protection systems.
growing up, bellamy caught on fairly quickly that her parents, despite marrying straight out of college, never shared the desire to desire to have kids . this was cemented by the amount of times she was referred to as a happy accident, or how her grandparents would say they were expecting the family german shepherd dottie to always be who they were babysitting when bellamy’s parents were busy.
her accidental birth aside, this never truly bothered her since she got along better than most kids her age did with their parents ( think olive in easy a with her mom and dad ). her parents’ intelligence was admirable to bellamy and even with the amount of effort put into studying for stem subjects, her stronger grades in history and english never cause a riff or an argument between them.
music always stood out as an interest to bellamy, going as far to take up the violin in her middle and high school orchestra, but it wasn’t until freshmen year in high school that one of her friends took her along to a local band playing in one of the iconic music venues in seattle that a lightbulb went off over her head.
from this point on bellamy threw herself into learning the guitar and was introduced to the band paramore ( to which she quite truthfully developed a crush on hayley williams ). pop punk would become her musical inspiration, her skills developing on the guitar her father got her for her birthday and the classes he signed her up for at the local music store, while she also learned to find her voice as a vocalist.
high school for bellamy was all about cruising. she kept up above average grades for her parents’ sake and knew that college was most definitely in the picture for her despite her true desire to find a band to belong in and try to make it big. college was to give her mom and dad peace of mind in case her music dreams fell short. high school has her in-between different bands, trying to fit in but never quite finding the people who fit her vision of what the type of music she wants to make.
her writing is important to her, the ability to craft a story within such a short time of three minutes or less, and she found that most of the bands in her area just wanted a girl as the singer for looks rather than any real creative input.
never one to hold back her opinion or mince her words, it definitely burned a few bridges and it’s one of her qualities that is viewed both positively and negatively depending on who you ask. bellamy has learned to stand up for herself and that if she doesn’t advocate for herself then no one else will.
even with no band behind her, she kept up her writing and it was her writing that proved as her strength to get her acceptance letter to radcliffe university after the encouragement of her mother to apply. the major of game design wasn’t initially one that crossed her mind as an option, but after speaking to some of the professors during her school’s college fair, it got her excited. bellamy’s penchant for writing pushed her along, but the creative aspect of creating a whole world in a video game is much different than songwriting.
it’s around her sophomore/junior year that bellamy meets who would become her best friends - the rest of her bandmates who would go to create their band all systems red with. thick as thieves with an undeniable love for music, they’ve been together since and within the past summer went on a mini tour in american for their first full length album.
bellamy keeps busy with her studies and band practice, ultimately hoping that she won’t have to put her degree to use after graduating but she supposes there are worse things to do than create video games.

freshman year came along & she HATED it, she hated finance, she spent most of her first year just partying. to make matters worse, since she hated it, she'd just sleep through her classes, skip whenever she could, and almost failed. keyword: almost.
that summer, she made a deal with her dad. she'd stay in college and actually go to class if she could study what she wanted. it took a while but he finally agreed and her sophomore year she changed her major to dance. she had been taking ballet since she was 2, went to the rockettes christmas show every year, was apart of the dance team in high school, it was an obvious choice. she loved it, so why not study what you love?
she's still the same party girl you know & love, but you can bet she makes it to all of her classes. girl isn't about to lose her trust fund anytime soon. she's a great friend, will always have your back- until you cross her, then she'll ghost without so much as a second thought, hates feelings & emotions, tries to push them all down with her vices, doesn't believe in true love, loves chicago style popcorn & a crisp diet coke.

daphne's father was part of a rising band in the 90s , toured all over small venues in a couple of cities that the group slowly rose to a known local name in united kingdom. her mother on the other hand was a proper english woman , and was finishing a degree at oxford when they meet. while they may have been sickeningly head over heels with each other , everyone seemed to have been against the relationship. he was no proper lad , her mother's parents said , and she was a mere distraction , her father's bandmates countered. their liaison only strengthens however when daphne's mother left her life and cut ties with her family to join his tour.
it is where daphne was conceived , london that is , while her father's band toured around the bigger cities. and it had also become her upbringing— from the chaos backstage to the unpredictability of life on the road that it almost felt as though she was born to understand how it was to live a life with no structure. this life however did meet its problems , and the band members weren't seeing eye to eye , their priorities shifting especially daphne's father. eventually , the band broke it off by the time daphne was about to start school and finally decided they settle someplace where daphne wouldn't be under scrutiny.
america was an enormous adjustment for her parents , but daphne has instantly grown to love it especially when her father brings her to his gigs around new york. it wasn't the music per se , but rather the spotlight that interested daphne , and since then she knew she'd love to be on stage one day.
daphne's mother had hoped she would pursue something else other than something so ... unstructured. acting began as a hobby , still a quite harmless obsession , until she began skipping classes for shows and abandoning home for days for potential gigs which was very reminiscent of her father , a realm in which her mother has started to openly regret.
she had become quite the defiant child , very reckless and never thought of the possible consequences of her actions as long as she secures what she wants. she grew distant from her parents , and especially so when the divorce rolled in so suddenly and she moves to connecticut with her mother.

college was more than just pursuing her dreams , it's freedom , and she's intoxicated. daphne's known around school for her reckless behavior and her rampant involvement in school events. she's that girl everyone is familiar with as her gregarious persona relishes in mingling with anyone and everyone.
daphne's not one to be shy about her sexuality , and has slept with a number of students regardless of people's opinions. there's something very liberating about getting the attention she'd always been dreaming of since younger , and she takes advantage of her good looks to get what she wants.
genuinely loves writing , hence writing for the school paper , but since she exudes the common conception of a dumb blonde , people get quite shocked that she writes for the grey wolf gazette — and it only made sense for her to report on events where she's always found at.

Francesca is originally from a small town in suburban Massachusetts. She is the youngest in her family, having two older brothers and a twin brother born 5 minutes earlier than her.
She was born with a genetic disease called cystic fibrosis, and initially only expected to live to be about 5 years old, but through medical advancements and participating in sports as a child, she was actually fairly healthy throughout her childhood. Most of her friends at school didn’t even know she was sick.
She lived a very cushy, privileged life, in part due to her parents wanting to give her everything they could, as well as the fact that she grew up in a moderately wealthy household, so money was never much of a worry. Two of her older brothers were highly protective of her and would do anything for her, whereas her twin brother deeply resented her for constantly being the center of attention, and was quite cruel to her growing up.
Her brother’s cruelty came in part because he was deeply struggling with mental health issues and substance abuse issues. Because the focus was always on Franny, his parents did not realize the issues he was dealing with, and instead admonished him for his behavior.
Throughout high school, Franny excelled in almost every way. She truly had an almost perfect life. Smart and athletic, whatever she set her mind to, she believed she could accomplish. She did nearly every extracurricular you could think of, from soccer to running track, and her personal favorite, theatre.
In college, Franny decided to major in both theatre and drama. She wanted to pursue acting on Broadway, or potentially try to make it as an actress in LA, where she planned on going to after Radcliffe.
Her dreams were cut short when her health quickly deteriorated after being on her own for so long. Growing up in a small town with an overbearing family, she was used to having a lot of things done for her. Taking care of her health felt like a full time job, and it didn’t take long for her to suffer the consequences of neglecting her health. She eventually moved back home and was able to recover enough to graduate with her degree online, but with serious consequences, and was no longer fit enough to chase her dreams to New York or bring herself to come to a casting in LA.
After stabilizing a bit and getting her act together somewhat, she decided she did not want to stay back home living with her parents. So, instead, she decided to move back to Radcliffe and pursue higher education. A benefit of this was that her brother already was there, so she could feel more supported and not completely on her own. She is pursuing her degree in drama education now that she has essentially given up on her true dream of being an actress herself, while also trying to figure out how to thrive in the fast life as a disabled woman. She’s resentful of her past as well as her brother, who she continues to clash with at times, but also itching to figure out what she really wants at this time in her life, and take a break from always trying to be so damn perfect. after all, life is short, right?
ADDITIONAL INFO:
Francesca is generally an empathetic and generous person. Her heart is rarely in the wrong place. However, growing up privileged and in many ways, babied by her family sometimes results in her having a hard time connecting with and understanding people from a different walk of life. She is very sensitive and empathetic to certain experiences, but struggles to connect with others.
She likes to be the center of attention ... but not for the wrong reasons. She’d much rather show off the abilities she does have, rather than focus on what she lacks. Because of that, she can appear a bit pissy and even bitter at times, but she's never truly mean. When she finds herself in trouble, she will absolutely use her situation to her advantage when it benefits her. She might have struggles, but she's used to getting a lot handed to her throughout her life and needs to be humbled sometimes.
She’s lonely, but won’t admit it (most of the time). She craves affection from others in her life, be it a friend or a romantic partner, and really just wants to know the people she finds interesting better. Sometimes this results in her coming off as a little (okay, a lot) nosy.
She is a lover of all things nature. Loves plants and flowers. But she kills everything in her care. No green thumbs over here.
She is a massive foodie and really enjoys every type of cuisine, but definitely has a taste for fine dining.
Because she spent most of her life being somewhat self-absorbed into her appearance, she’s acquired quite the collection of clothes. Her style is very ecletic and feminine, think large colorful sweaters, tights, Mary Jane heels, and funky earrings. But she's terrible at makeup and usually just sticks to the basics.
WANTED CONNECTIONS:
Her twin brother! I’ll submit this as an official WC, but the only real criteria that needs to be filled is that he’s older than her, grew up in MA, and has struggled with substance abuse in the past (currently is fine as well). van was born into a family whose wealth stems from old money, and their traditions and expectations seemingly set in stone. he’s the baby of the family so he thankfully lucked out as far as expectations go, with his older sister and brother bearing the brunt of their parents’ expectation since he was last in line to inherit the company, assets, etc, and he is more than content to let his siblings battle it out. despite this, he was still expected to make a good impression and play the part in public, given the press their family gets, which is something van consistently struggled with.
he never felt comfortable in this world that he was thrust into from birth, hated the black tie events and high profile dinners and guests, and constantly looking over his shoulder in case someone was watching or monitoring him.
his world was flipped upside down when he was 14, when all of a sudden a man contacted him saying that he is his biological father, that he had an on/off affair with their mother for years and they reconnected after his older brother was born and his parents were briefly separated, and they conceived him. this stranger claims he never knew he existed until recently, when he saw their picture in the paper for an event the family attended and noticed the youngest son, and how he looks so much like him, rather than the man van has always thought was his father. the kicker was that this man was also famous, a well-known rockstar from a band his parents had never allowed him to listen to (but he did anyways). when he mentioned it to his parents, rather than the vehement denial he expected, he only received a confirmation, although his parents were furious that the man reached out to him directly when they had explicitly told him not to. van was more shocked that his parents not only knew, but deigned to keep it from him rather than expose the truth.
after pushing his parents, they finally scheduled a meeting with his biological father, rich. van was shocked when his parents offered him money to go away and stay quiet about it, but van was immensely relieved when the man denied it, disgusted by the notion, and just said he wanted to know his son. after hours of arguing between the adults, they finally agreed that he could get to know van, but as far as the public knows, he is van’s godfather, and no one can ever know the truth. they even had him sign an nda, but after that, van spent time with his new “godfather”, getting to know him and learning about him. it was an interesting relationship, not quite like the father-son relationship he had with the dad he’s known his whole life, but they were more like friends, or like he was his cool uncle that he could confide in and share things with. he’d never had a relationship so laid back, where he didn’t have those crushing expectations, and it led van down a whole new path.
after getting close with his biological father, van’s love of music became an obsession. he would go to shows with rich, stay backstage and watch as the bands performed, watch as his “godfather” rocked it on stage, and he developed a hunger. he wanted it so badly, in a way he’d never wanted anything else before. he asked rich to teach him how to play, starting with the guitar and eventually moving to bass, and even the drums, though he quickly learned he preferred bass over anything else, loving the feeling of embodying the heartbeat of the song.
he ended up joining a local band at 17, but it ended poorly when internal issues caused a fallout between the members, and van didn’t look back when he went off to school, not having a good reason to stay.
he didn’t really want to go to college at first, but it was a non-negotiable with his parents. they didn’t care what he majored in, as long as he got the degree. he told them the only way he would go is if he could go for music, and so he did. after spending so many hours in the studio with his father, he went into music production, wanting to learn the ins and outs of how to produce his own music, knowing that no matter what happens, he wants to create music — whether it’s his own, or helping others bring their vision to life.
it was by luck that he met bellamy and joined all systems red when he came to radcliffe — a twist of fate that van is grateful for every day. he loves their sound, and is beyond proud of everything they’ve accomplished as a band so far. he thinks they can make it, and he only hopes that they will remain as passionate and committed in the future as they are right now.

MINI BIO
alexander 'alex' zhu, the only child born to two chinese immigrant parents in new york city. his parents ran a small noodle shop out of chinatown and they live in a rather small apartment just above the store. his parents are by no means well off, but alex will always say that they were the happiest and will stand by his parent's cooking being the best in the state until the day he dies.
always an active and friendly boy, his parents signed him up for all kinds of different sports clubs, but it was only baseball he took a real shine to. he started playing for a local team as a first baseman, but switched to catcher not long after, after he filled in for a few games and the coaches recognized the talent for the position.
alex absolutely thrived on the little league team even from a very young age. he picked up an innate ability for calling plays from behind home plate, getting into the head of the hitters and bringing out the best in the pitchers on the mound. he was also a decent hitter, with high batting average and lots of power behind his swing.
though, the young alex always had dreams of playing in the major leagues and his parents were always incredibly supportive of his dream. They paid for all his catching gear, private training with top coaches and all the funding to help him travel across america for training camps and competitions. they just wanted to see their son happy and thriving and were willing to do anything for it to happen.
not to say he was completely useless in the classroom, either. alex was just as hardworking with his textbooks as he was with a baseball. well liked by his classmates and his teammates, known as a jokester in the classroom as well as in the dugout. he constantly achieved good grades, somehow managing to juggle his very busy academic life with his filled up baseball schedule as well.
all through high school alex always had his eyes set on the mlb and making it to the majors. nothing else in the world mattered to him. he worked hard, played his best and really shone every second he was out on the baseball field.
the hard work paid off and once he graduated high school he was eventually picked up by the astros. finally, his dream was starting to take shape. though it wasn't straight to the majors, alex had to pay his time in the minor leagues, chugging his way through the farm system of double-a baseball first. but really, he didn't mind the work, he was only a few steps away from getting on the big stage.
however, dreams are made to be broken and the whole plan went tits up only one year later when injury struck. alex tore two muscles in his right shoulder, putting him out of commission for the rest of the season. the recovery period was long and there was talk he would never be able to throw and bat again like he used to. the dream of every making it to the majors was over for him. after one year of physio and working to try and get back to his best form, alex was quietly dropped from the team with little fanfare.
he was distraught, returning home to new york. but alex was not a quitter, he kept working hard and training every single day. he decided to backtrack to college baseball, enrolling in radcliffe not long after.
if there was one thing his injury didn't take from him, it was still his ability to control the defence. he works to make the pitcher shine, upsetting the offence. and he's still not a bad batter, switching to a more contact than power kind of guy, putting himself in the mind of the catch to predict which pitch he might get next and hitting to get on base.
alex has not given up on his dream, he's fully recovered from his injury and is working hard to get noticed by the big leagues once more. his time on the big stage will come, and he's more than willing to put in the work to get there.

BIOGRAPHY
born as the youngest of three children and the only boy in the hwang family, micah was well aware of the expectations placed on his shoulders from a young age. with an architect for a father and a pharmacist for a mother, intelligence was a trait passed down plenty between micah and his sisters. micah remembers his childhood as an odd combination of grabbing onto every opportunity presented to him to figure out what he liked and what he excelled at, paired with the pressing feeling of being held against his mother’s chest and coddled for what the world had to offer. bright eyed and energetic, micah tried his hand at soccer and found himself quite good at it, but when he tripped the wrong way and sprained his ankle during a game, his parents were the first to run on the juniors field and pull micah off the green. while his parents were always there to cheer him on and uplift him in his studies, it was the first time micah began to feel both embarrassment and frustration at being called the baby of the family and coddled as such.
seven year old micah was soon encouraged to try his hand at baseball. it definitely wasn’t soccer and didn’t spark the same joy as running up and down the field, but it was his teammates of the local little league that helped micah settle in. his mother told him that baseball was a nice and safer alternative to soccer, less chance to get hurt on the pitcher's mound once micah’s aptitude for the position began to shine through. not one to try and upset his parents, micah took the change in stride and it would soon blend into the everyday schedule that was his life. though he tries his best not to complain from any of the opportunities his mother and father were able to provide for him from the traveling baseball league, to the costs of his school’s baseball team, to private tutors, since he knows he’s more fortunate than others. it’s with his twin sister that he feels most comfortable to truly be himself and open about any hesitations that he’s encountering. she’s the one who he turns to in middle school when one of his gym teacher’s recommends rowing and it’s the first time micah decides to do something for himself instead of consulting with his parents. it fills in the time during off season for baseball, but his mother doesn’t feel the same excitement as micah does when he sits in the boat and is one with the water when practicing with his team in the hudson river.
high school is soon around the corner and micah is able to look back on it fondly. in their home city of new paltz, new york, micah builds popularity among his fellow students, the faculty, and becomes a frequent name in the newspaper for how many games he’s led both his school’s baseball team and crew team to. while benevolent and amiable to everyone around him, micah feels as though his life is a balancing act between baseball practice, keeping up with his studies to stay in the top ten of his class, and maintaining what he can manage of a social life. micah is aware that he can appear superficial to some — a social chameleon and changing to whoever he’s around in each situation, but it serves its purposes and keeps his parents happy that he’s their golden boy.
golden boy. a title given to him from his parents that seemed to have followed him into his academic career. while popularity in high school holds no true weight in the grand scheme of the world, micah can admit that it does feel nice being liked by his peers. he tries his best to be friendly to all and offer conversation when the time calls, but he knows that not everyone shares the same high school experience.
his comes to an end with the title of salutatorian, a scholarship opportunity for baseball at radcliffe university where micah decides to pursue an anthropology degree. his mother is dejected that micah chooses not to pursue a medical degree like his older sister, but is satisfied with the historical aspect of the major after micah explains it to her. while anthropology was never his first choice, his high school guidance counselor introduced it to micah when he was torn on what to go on to study. micah enjoys learning about the past and the origins on why certain things are like they are, and as a senior, he’s cemented in his belief that it was the right choice. micah finds that college is similar to high school in his ability to blend in and feel at home right away, finding his group of friends and proving himself as a star player on the baseball and rowing team. still, micah sees college as another balancing act between learning more about himself and who he wants to be, while building a future for himself through his grades, and the long hours of practice split between two teams. his mother chides his father for encouraging micah to try his hand at going pro in baseball, but micah knows that’s hardly a desire that he has. truthfully, he’s not quite sure the direction he wants to to go in after graduation and is having a slight crisis trying to figure that out as graduation looms.
overall, micah is a charismatic guy who enjoys being around others just as much as he enjoys the solitude of his own presence. the weight of being the golden boy of his family and making his family proud sits heavily on his shoulders, chipping away at his facade as the reality of life post-college begins to set in. he’s known around campus for being kind, always up for a party and, not to mention, his athletic abilities. he means well, never wanting to make anyone feel bad or upset them, and for that reason, he’s often a social chameleon. some may feel as though there’s an artificial aspect to micah, ever smiling and appearing genial to those around him, and wondering if they’re getting the real him. in reality, the only person micah feels knows him to his core and understands him best in his twin.

you know alex dunphy, from modern family? yeah, well that's pretty much ivy growing up... except her whole family is at least as smart as her. she comes from a family of doctors and veterinarians, full generations before ivy even came to this world. *clue the joke about veterinarians not being real doctors*...yes, the doctors in her family like to tease the vets about that. her grandparents on her father's side were both vets, owning the family vet clinic (which is now owned by her dad, and guess who's expected to take the reigns after him... yep. ivy.) and her mom is a pediatrician. Her grandparents on her mother's side? oh, just a cardiologist and a neurologist. so you could say the pressure on ivy's shoulders is heavy.
growing up, she wasn't allowed much extracurricular activities so that she could focus on school and have the best grades. she did do some equestrian lessons back when she was a kid, at one of their family friends' ranch and piano lessons because her mom thought it'd look great on her college resume later. but in her teenage years, she did convince her parents to let her take singing and dancing lessons. she also learned how to drum, thanks to a friend who's father was a musician and let them fool around with his instruments.
so she was never actually that close with her parents, they were gone a lot and when they were around, ivy felt stressed and felt performance pressure. she had to have something to say to them about whatever today's achievement could be. but even though they wanted her to succeed and follow into their footsteps, most of the weight on ivy's shoulders was put there by herself. she wanted to see her parents be proud of her. she wanted to impress her family. mostly since her older brother was going against their parents' wishes for him to take the reigns of the family clinic (wc), she felt like it was now up to her to step up.
in high school, she was never popular nor unpopular, just a regular student with a few friends here and there. although her wits did bring some attention on her, and it was the reason some people were even friends with her in the first place. when she realized it, ivy felt used and as though nobody actually liked her for her. after that, she secluded herself and became even quieter, slowly but surely falling into depression. that's when she started to self-medicate. unless she had a big exam coming up, she would smoke weed every night.
now in college, ivy had joined a band as the drummer & doing back vocals as well, but when her parents learned, oh boy... her father said the words " i'm disappointed in you " out loud, you could've stabbed her right in the heart and it would've hurt less. it was "distracting" they would say. "she should focus on school, not play around with music no one listen to." she heard her father add as they left. luckily for her, they didn't learn about the dance team. completely heartbroken, she quit the band, even though she was hurting a friend in the process. their situation was a little complicated, but ivy felt like she had no other choices. at least, she didn't have to quit dancing since it took so little hours out of her week.

BACKGROUND
born to a very chaotic household, marcy’s the youngest of 4
her dad the local drunk and her mom was his high school sweetheart
it became glaringly obvious from a young age that whatever love her parents may have had for each other was long gone by the time she got into the picture
it felt like they were just together because they had already started a family and it was too late to back out now
the older she got, the worse it became. rumors flew around that her parents were cheating on each other, she could hear them fighting every night and she just wished they would throw in the towel and get a divorce already because yes, they were all still a family, but nobody was believing their marriage was anything but toxic
it probably didn’t help that they lived in a mobile home that was waaaay too small to fit all of them and when she was older, marcy came to realize that whatever money they did have that came from her dad was money he got from gambling
it got to a point that her dad owed too much money. he was in a bad way with some worse people and they took it out on her mother who was killed in retaliation
marcy was just thirteen at this point and she was devastated. a girl still needed her mother and in the blink of an eye, she was gone
when she was younger, her older siblings hid the truth from her, saying their mother just died in an accident, but they didn't get into any details
she actually found it out all on her own a few years later when she decided to dig deeper into what happened
needless to say, she cut off her ties from her father when she found out the truth
she was always taught to be tough but despite everything that she had been around growing up, marcy held onto her optimism
she’d always, always choose being kind over anything else
she’s been living in town since she was born, barely even got out of the state, and she’s pretty sure she’ll die here in connecticut tbh because it’s home and she doesn’t know anything else
she’s worked jobs ever since she could so she’s been everywhere. a maid at the local hotel, she painted houses, dogwalked, babysat, had a stint as a waitress at the local diner (she's probably still working there part-time tbh 🤪), a cashier at the local supermarket
she's currently on a music scholarship
she knows exactly what she wants to be when she's older: a singer. she believes that hard work will truly get her there, which is why she's busting her ass off right now and she can't wait to graduate
