"you sure about that?" she asked before drinking the contents from her cup, trying to have some faith in josie. she played softball, how hard could it possibly be? they couldn't have rigged it, it was a college booth giving out dollar store prizes.

the laughter seemed to spill out of her, the alcohol making it difficult to hold back in front of the other girl. "yeah, that was horrible, they definitely have them glued on there or something. want to find a better game? one that won't end up in total embarrassment?"

👼— josephine giggles, tipsy after a few sips of a cooler she had. she never really liked beer, the taste just was a complete ick to her. josie is standing in front of one of the games the school has laid out, she has completely forgotten what it was called, though. ' the one with the pins and you throw a ball at those pins ' is what she's been telling people she's a master at.

" okay, watch this. i swear i'll get all of them this time. " she's talking to izzy, the girl standing near her. josephine knows eyes are on her, so she tries her best to make a good throw. it immediately fails, the ball barely grazing the top pin - not enough for it to topple over.

" oh my god, this is IMPOSSIBLE !! "

"that is so sad, it's just all the extra shit they have in the registrar's office, i'm sure you could just ask one morning and they'd give you whatever you want. good omen or not." she understood all the bells & whistles to excite freshmen but the upperclassmen? the woman was absolutely fine just strolling along, drink in hand, and sitting at the student council booth when needed. "the only person you're going to impress with those free vouchers on a date is a freshman that doesn't know any better, or someone with some pretty low standards." bringing a hand to her chest, knowing well enough it was never going to happen, "i'm sure you wouldn't but the last place i'd let you take me is the cafeteria, time to shoot lower, babe."

❝ one? two? . . . ten? honestly could not remember. ❞ nothing else could be blamed for this unhinged behavior besides rowan's last two working brain cells. and with his hands raised up in surrender , he laughs at the reaction he's gotten from her. ❝ is it really difficult to believe that i'd actually want to win something tonight? sort of like a good omen for the start of the new semester. ❞ he explains , trying his best to express it seriously before he smirks at his company. ❝ my dear bella , whether it's at a three michelin star restaurant or at wendy's , simply being in my presence is an indicator of a great time. it'd probably be funny to see you watch my date , but i wouldn't mind you be my date. ❞

"well don't rope me in," handing the flyer back, "swim team is the last thing i want to do...no offense" with a heavy sigh followed by isabella taking a much needed swig from the mysterious contents from her cup, she looked directly at the others at the swim booth to say, "oh no, hadley, we need you." offering a forced smile to the others, "ready to go? to whatever made up emergency you're needed at."

a flyer was handed out to isabella, eyes wide in desperation. " save me from here, i beg you " stuck at the swimming team booth for about half an hour, ever since another girl went out for some drinks, hadley felt on the verge of madness. " i swear the swimming team is a mob, they want to force everyone in " she couldn't blame them though, they really needed reinforcements for this season. haddy loved the sport but not enough to remain there. " can you pretend to need me somewhere else? or pass out? i'd owe you forever, isa."

"how many tickets did you buy, rowan? jesus.." a look of confusion washing over her face, assuming he bought way too many tickets. and for those prizes? how sad could you get? "oh yeah," the sarcasm already obvious in her words, "cause that's really going to sweep your date off their feet, free food on campus. you know what, let's hope you win the vouchers, i'd love to watch that date."
