The characters in a PJO AU
Celia: Daughter of Cronos. This is a Big Deal and is the source of conflict in this universe. She arrives at Camp at around the same age as in The Book in the Attic
Maddie: Daughter of Tyche. She’s on the weaker side, but able to balance odds really well. She and Celia met at the Hermes table since neither of their parents have a cabin.
Josh: Son of Ares. Love is war.
Kitt: Centaur and camp storyteller. He’s pretty young so he’s not a leader but he supervises during campfire and Capture the Flag
Heath: Son of Hephaestus, he mans the forge and is the second oldest in his cabin. He comes across as laid back but he’s really good about making sure no one gets hurt in such a fire-prone environment
Audra: clear-sighted mortal and Hunter of Artemis. She arrives in camp later on, effectively as their liaison. Her role among the Hunters is diplomacy
Doxa: Also a Hunter of Artemis, and is Artemis’s representative amongst the council of the Gods. A bit of a bully early on, but she lets up on Celia when she realizes they both want to protect those who are powerless
Quiroz: Son of Hermes, the God of travellers, messengers, thieves, and Psychopomp
Lyerly: Daughter of Apollo, specializes in truth and prophecy, eventually becomes the Oracle of Camp when they let the attic mummy pass on
Casimir: Son of Zeus, and feels entitled because of it
#I was originally considering Son of Aphrodite for Josh#and I maintain that it would still work#it’s got the body gifts - awareness of the power and usefulness of one’s body not to mention him falling fast and hard#depending on the plot of the pjo au he still could be one#however because of the Aphrodite cabin’s reputation at Camp Halfblood#it would change him a lot to be a part of that cabin#like they’re basically seen as the wimp cabin#whereas in order to maintain his painful act of masculinity and detachment he would have to be in a different environment#because that just wouldn’t be the attitude that was nurtured in the Aphrodite cabin#however if this was a ‘seven halfbloods on the run together’ sort of au then he could be Aphrodite#plus like. he’s a hottie. they put him on the cover of a teens gossip magazine. he’s objectively attractive#character charts#this has really got away from me as an au#I don’t have a story line but I have more world building that didn’t make it into this post#maybe I’ll add it later idk#celias journey#alternate universes#celia fincastle#josh rumbles#madelia hannagan#kittrick borega#casimir coridan#quiroz bazemore#doxa geleafa#lyerly#Heath whitmore#audra jackson

Quiroz deserting was actually so brave. Like we see him doing that and say “oh good, he’s joining the winning side.” But Quiroz had just been beat within an inch of his life by the Desert Knights, he definitely didn’t think of them as the weaker players. He probably still thought Casimir was going to win, but he joined Celia anyway. That’s brave.

Josh: 5/10 He would be in denial. Could go either way
Maddie: 3/10 She’s way more connected to The Overseer, would try to talk Celia down
Heath: 7/10 He’s prepared to throw hands for her, but is scared of the consequences for his family
Kitt: 4/10 He is very ride or die, but he grew up in the Demesne. Would probably just freeze up
Audra: 2/10 She wouldn’t but would feel really guilty about it
Doxa: 10/10 She doesn’t give a shit about The Overseer beyond what They mean to Celia, takes her job very seriously
Anne: 1/10 Trusts The Overseer’s judgment. She would assume They have good reason for Their choice
Quiroz: 9/10 He taunted Casimir repeatedly, and enjoyed it
Higby: 6/10 His family has been on the throne for years, so he feels fairly entitled, but he would also think it’s not his fight

For all that Josh was the one who got a job in research and development, I think Quiroz is probably the single person Celia’s age with the most experience in experimental gift application
#he was off school for a year doing nothing but trying to figure out how to do trnasference#something that is both really obscure and really tenchinally complicated#I know he was hitting those books like crazy#all the more so because he had a threat of physical harm hanging over his head if he failed#I bet he knows all sorts of interesting scholarly things that most people don’t#let him write a thesis he deserves it#better yet let him have a random one off conversation with Alison Geymsnd where they’re both pleasantly suprised by each others knowledge#and immediately begin talking about things nobody at the table can follow#celias journey#quiroz bazemore

Not to read too far into things, but the fact that both Indaba and Quiroz are abnormally willing to have their mind read has to mean something. Is it a Desert Knight thing?
#if so this implies their minds are regularly invaded#or at least their minds are THREATENED with invasion enough they’ve internalized the threat#they both are very ready to have their privacy severely violated#it’s almost as if they don’t believe they have the right to privacy#or they believe privacy is a myth and never something they had in the first place#either way#the implications are SCALDING#celias journey#quiroz bazemore#indaba bazemore

It makes sense, but I’ve got opinions on Quiroz living with his dad
#I think this was on purpose#like his dad engineered it that way so that he could both check in regularly about his spying#and be monitered so that he didn't fall for the tricks of the enemy' or whatever#and it was a purposeful impediment to his ability to form Renasci relationships#outside of the NICE program and therefore Celia#this backfired obviously because he ended up latching on to Celia and using her to pull himself out of the cult he was raised in#but I think it's in character for the Desert Knights#and I don't want to imply that Indaba is the type of person to try to quasi-groom his child#in the fantasy im creating in my head the living arrangements were Casimir's idea#and Indaba was instructed to give updates on not only himself but his son#of course for this to fit canon he either needed to be deliberately withholding information about how Quiroz was faring (possible)#or was truly was just that blind about the ideological shift his son was undergoing (also possible)#celias journey#quiroz bazemore#indaba bazemore#like imagine how much of a different personQuirpz would be if he’d been allowed to explore himself earlier#description in alt text
