Love those relationships where the juvenile delinquent falls in love with a really good, special girl. And then, he turns his life around and soon becomes a man. Not just for her, ..but because of her.

But most of all, for himself. Because now, it's his utmost goal and desire to be the man of her dreams. Even if it means he has to wait for her and grow into his own person. But, because he loves her so much, he does whatever it takes. Because he can't imagine his future without her by his side. In the end, she gives him her whole heart, and he cherishes it like a precious gem. For better or for worse. Always and forever. ❤️

"The lack of Georgie talk is lowkey disturbing. That's still supposed to be their daughter but out of sight out of mind, I guess? Is she okay? Are she and Quinn still together? Even if you can't get Alisha back, Lou and Peter can still talk about her!"

I just had surgery and I'm going to be stuck at home a lot for the next week or so. Anything Hallmark wise you think would be good to watch/catch up on?
I am caught up on WCTH & The Way Home. I am also pretty caught up on all the mystery series (Mystery 101, Hannah, Aurora, etc.) I do have access to Hallmark Movies Now.
I never watched The Good Witch series any thoughts on it?
Hopefully your healing goes well!
I'm personally not a big fan of Good Witch so I can't really comment on that. I found several characters to be annoying. I think I only watched a couple seasons.
I'm never not recommending Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman if you haven't seen that. It's not Hallmark but it's on HMNow. It's one of my favorite shows ever. Heartland is pretty good too. There's a ton of seasons of that.
Without knowing what movies you have or haven't seen it's hard to recommend things. With SSD coming back, now would be a good time to catch up on all those movies and the show if you haven't seen them.

The Tap Out Job is such an amazing episode, just so gorgeously done, and I absolutely love the whole storyline about Sophie learning to understand Eliot and the American heartland that he represents.
But [me whining about a scene that didn't work for me below cut]
One scene that always kind of bothers me (enough that I usually skip it when I rewatch the episode) is the one where Parker demonstrates the triangle choke on Hardison, and the other three discuss the con while Hardison whispers about not being able to breathe in the background.
Like I get how this is funny; I think on some review sites I saw that some viewers consider this the funniest scene in the series. Yes, this is a me problem--I always have difficulty with this kind of humour and it's a large part of why I generally don't watch comedies (Leverage excluded)
But like Parker ignored a tap out. Hardison literally tapped and then emphasized it by verbally saying that he was tapping. And just. You don't ignore that.
Eliot's talking in this episode about MMA fighters behaving with respect and all, but every MMA gym I've been to, one of the first rules they tell you is that you Always respect a tap out.
And, yeah, Hardison obviously could breathe (since he could still talk) and maybe he tapped prematurely, and if this were an MMA class the instructor might encourage him to try more things before giving up, and teach him that he can take more pain/stress than he thinks he can (I had a lot to learn there when I started doing MMA--i'm very high strung and easily scared/freaked out).
But. No matter how prematurely someone taps you still have to respect that.
And maybe Parker doesn't get that, but like. Eliot's right there. Eliot who does believe in MMA and its associated values and notions of respect.
Probably this is a cultural thing, (and again, an 'I'm not hard wired to enjoy comedy' thing) but I do kinda wonder if I'm the only one bothered by this.
(like, is it just the gyms around me that take tapping very seriously? The creators clearly did a lot of research, and whoever they consulted must not have considered this a problem...)
Edit: Oops I deleted something here earlier, but then someone responded to it so I'll put it back (paraphrased):
This line of thought inspired by a post I saw about what sparring with Eliot and Quinn would be like, which got me wondering if they would respect a tap-out (since that's a zeroth order term in determining whether they would be fun to spar with, in my book). And I'm not sure Eliot would, but would be happy to be convinced otherwise.

SUPERCELL (2023)
Starring Skeet Ulrich, Anne Heche, Daniel Diemer, Jordan Kristine Seamón, Alec Baldwin, Praya Lundberg, Johnny Wactor, Richard Gunn, Anjul Nigam, Tyler W. Gaisford, Mattie Ward, Jane Lind, Jack Eyman, Stephanie Astalos-Jones, Gabriel Clark, Chozy Aiyub, Helena Sadvary, Krissy Notes, Carlette Jennings, Skip Talbot, Michael Klingher and Cheyenne Adamson.
Screenplay by  Herbert James Winterstern and Anna Elizabeth James.
Directed by Herbert James Winterstern.
Distributed by Saban Films. 100 minutes. Rated PG-13.
If you ever wondered what Twister would be like if it were filmed with a shoestring budget and very little special effects, well here you go. Slipped into theaters quickly, to beat the long-delayed Twister sequel – being filmed 17 years after the first film became a moderate hit and due to come out in the summer of ‘24– Supercell tells the stories of a clan of tornado chasers who go from small town to small town to watch as tornadoes destroy the local farms and neighborhoods.
To be completely honest, I never particularly liked Twister, and Supercell doesn’t really resonate for me for many of the same reasons. Truth is, the main characters and their obsession with placing themselves in the middle of danger, seemed kind of absurd to me. I get that there is a certain adrenaline rush in witnessing the great ferocity of nature, but there is a reason that there are storm cellars all over the heartland. A twister is not something people should want to experience, and you have to worry about the mental competency of people who keep putting themselves wittingly right in the path of danger.
It's not good if you can’t decide if your main characters are determined scientists or merely suicidal.
Supercell doesn’t have all that much else to offer to the Twister template, other than a little family drama and a good-naturedly over-the-top performance by Alec Baldwin and one of the last appearances on film by the late Anne Heche.
Also, in fairness, it does revolve around the hole left in the lives of the family of one of these daredevil tornado trackers who actually did die in a tornado – years earlier in fact. So, Supercell does actually take a hard look at the hazard of the profession, although not to the extent that they stop courting danger.
The story is about William (Daniel Diemer), the teenaged son of that late tornado fighter, the legendary (in the small storm-chasing community, anyway) Bill Brody (Richard Gunn). Bill is killed in the film’s introduction, and then the film fast forwards to years later when William is living with his mom Dr. Quinn Brody (Anne Heche), a former partner in chasing but who has now cut herself completely off from the business due to the death of her husband. She sees that William is curious about what his dad used to do, but she refuses to discuss the old days.
When William gets a package of his dad’s things from his dad’s other partner, old friend Roy Cameron (Skeet Ulrich), William decides to go back to where his dad died and get the straight scoop from dad’s old pal. Cameron is not too happy to see him – knowing Quinn will blame him for igniting her son’s interest. Plus, their business has been changed into a cheesy tourist trap, offering twister tours for people who want to say they have seen one and yet do not want to actually face the danger. The tour is run by Zane Rogers (Alec Baldwin), a showman who sees the storms as a way to make a buck.
Until the end, Supercell tends to look at its tornados from a bit of distance – the destruction is mostly out of sight of the camera. This probably stems greatly from the lack of a special effects budget, but it can be like Bruce the shark in Jaws – you don’t have to see it close up to know how deadly it is. (And yes, this is the first and last time you’ll ever see Supercell even tangentially compared to the vastly superior film Jaws.)
This isn’t an actor’s film, and honestly Diemer makes for a kind of bland hero. However, I will give Supercell this, even from a distance these storms make for pretty arresting viewing. It doesn’t make Supercell a good film, but it gives the film whatever moments of intrigue that it can blow up.

Amell, Bernthal, Cox, Van Dien Added To FAN EXPO Philadelphia Lineup, June 2-4
Tumblr media
Things just got a lot more interesting for fans of a few blockbuster franchises as FAN EXPO Philadelphia today announced a new slate of key additions to its already outstanding lineup of guests. “Arrow” star Stephen Amell, “Punisher” standout Jon Bernthal, “Daredevil” headliner Charlie Cox and “Stranger Things” breakout Grace Van Dien will now be attending the event, June 2-4 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
Advanced Tickets for FAN EXPO Philadelphia are on sale through May 18 at www.fanexpophiladelphia.com, with discounts on individual day, 3-day and Ultimate Fan Packages available for adults, youths and families. VIP packages are also available now, with dozens of special benefits including priority entry, limited edition collectibles, exclusive items and much more.
Amell teams with fellow “Arrow” cast member Emily Bett Rickards; Cox joins “Daredevil” co-star Vincent D’Onofrio; and Van Dien pairs with Joseph Quinn as a “Stranger Things” tandem at the show.
They complement the other previously announced FAN EXPO Philadelphia guests, led by icon Michael J Fox, his Back to the Future costars Christopher Lloyd and Tom Wilson; Henry Winkler (“Happy Days,” “Barry”); Christina Ricci (“The Addams Family,” “Wednesday”); Sam Raimi (The Evil Dead, Spider-Man); Sean Astin (The Lord of the Rings, Rudy); Peter Weller (Robocop, Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension); Katee Sackhoff (“The Mandalorian,” “Battlestar Galactica); and Bonnie Wright (Harry Potter). Additional celebrities, voice actors, creators, cosplayers exhibitors and programming for this major comics, sci-fi, horror, literary, anime and gaming convention will be announced closer to the event.
Known to millions as the crime-fighting vigilante in the title role of “Oliver Queen/Green Arrow” in the eponymous hit CW series, as well as “The Flash,” “Supergirl,” “Batwoman,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” and other iterations, Stephen Amell has also appeared as a series regular in numerous shows, prominently "Hung," "Private Practice" and "Heartland." He also had recurring roles in "New Girl" opposite Zooey Deschanel and "Private Practice" as the love interest to Amy Brenneman.
Jon Bernthal played the lead “Frank Castle” in the Netflix Marvel series “Daredevil” after a popular run as “Shane Walsh” in the AMC hit drama “The Walking Dead.” The classically trained Bernthal most recently starred in last year’s “American Gigolo” on Showtime and has appeared in such large-scale productions as World Trade Center, The Pacific and Rampart, and has had guest roles on top TV series like "CSI: Miami," "Boston Legal," "Without a Trace" and "How I Met Your Mother."
Charlie Cox has had more than 40 screen credits, with his role as “Matt Murdock” on “Daredevil” (reprised in “She-Hulk” and Spider-Man: No Way Home) the most prominent. He gained wide notice for his portrayal of “Owen Sleater” in the HBO period drama “Boardwalk Empire” and played the lead role of “Michael Kinsella” in the AMC+ crime drama series “Kin.”
One of the breakout stars of this past season on “Stranger Things,” Grace Van Dien has earned a fervent following for her role as “Chrissy Cunningham,” the latest among her 30+ credits. She was also a regular on the NBC drama “The Village” and portrayed real-life actress Sharon Tate in the film Charlie Says, based on the Charles Manson murders.
Philadelphia is the eighth event on the 2023 FAN EXPO HQ calendar; the full schedule is available at fanexpohq.com/home/events/.
