[Day 1 - Faction]

Day 13: Tentacles

The new growths feel wrong, at first. The skin of his shoulder blades and lower back is irritated in a different way than the dull flaking itch of his sprouting scales.( He needs to soak the bandages around his ribs again). The small lumps hurt to touch, even the weave of his shirt seems too much. The bruised red purple of the spots does not clear up even as the nodules grow longer and the pain dies down. Easier to tolerate, even as sensation from the four lengths becomes clear and distinct. It takes until one of the growths twitches and twists into his shirt that Scott takes the time to closely examine this new development in his slow creeping metamorphosis. The tendrils seemed eager to twist and hold anything that brushed against the sensitive skin.Simple enough to convince to reflexively grasp the back of a chair in front of the full length mirror he is becoming far too acquainted with. The offending, pale purple, appendage is tensing and relaxing reflexively against the wood of the chair.(Twitching like his growing tail nub , but feeling far more sinister, more alien, than his awakening heritage). With great concentration Scott manages to relax the appendage but finds the broader tip almost stuck. Grabbing it for a closer looks reveals tiny suction cups at the end, these are not the decorative fins or barbels known of mer, he’s sprouting tentacles

first go of it for piratessmptober! day one was FACTION, and i figured there is no other more fitting faction moment for finneas than the symbolic death of the kestrel, the banner-burning! played this one fast and loose cos i wanted to focus more on the emotion.
