Handbuilt porcelain with slip, overglaze, glaze, and gold lustre accents. Paint and lacquer detailing added post fire. Handsewn fool's cap and bells added post fire.

My favourite mask to date, Fool from Ghost in the Machine by the wonderful @venomous-qwille !! GITM is absolutely incredible and I cannot put into words eloquently how much I adore it and Fool so instead I made this mask! Hi!
My word was this mask a struggle to make. The mask itself is entirely one piece, and entirely porcelain!! That's right, those long thin rays are solid porcelain!! The eyes and tips of the blades are done in 22 carat gold lustre. All colouring save for the black and the satin sections of darker red on the face were done with only slips and underglazes. The red colour was correct without the paint, but I thought a contrast from the rest of the gloss would look nice :)
Made to scale, the mask measures 50.8x60.96cm without the hat, and 50.8x116.84cm with it! (20x24in without hat, 20x46in including hat). He is Large, but turned out absolutely lovely and I send my many many thanks to the kiln gods for producing him unscathed.
(naku & wall for scale)
(he's so big guys i have large walls (the top of my head is only slightly above the top of the bookcase beneath him) look at him at the wall it's nuts)
4 piece set consisting of Dusk Warden, Dawn Warden, Sun Ward, and Moon Ward.
Hand-sculpted ceramics (Dawn and Sun being mason-stained porcelain + Dusk and Moon being earthenware) with underglaze, slip, and luster accents (as well as minor post-fire additions). Click on their names to go to their individual posts for more details!
Handbuilt porcelain, reduction fired with manganese dioxide wash.

Made use of the manganese dioxide wash + porcelain + reduction firing = bone combo again!
This is a play on the greek comedy and tragedy masks, as well as a whole lot of inspirations that should... be quite obvious to most any of you looking at it. Aside from those, it's also inspired by the Will Wood lyric: "I'm the gap between a tragedy and comedy", as the wearer is, quite literally, the gap between the two and all that entails.
Handbuilt earthenware, sprayed with terra sigilata and saggar fired with various minerals, chemicals, paints, foods, black glaze, and glass beads.
Touch-ups/accents added post-fire with alcohol inks.

Yes this mask is very DCA inspired, though the sketch it's based off of isn't meant to be an AU or anything, believe it or not.
This mask was from my first saggar firing! I kind of went ham decorating the saggar as well which is below.
The colours weren't as intense as I wanted fresh out of the kiln, so I went over the whole thing with some alcohol inks I mixed up. Overall I love the result! I also hadn't used terra sig before this, so I applied it after bisque (you aren't supposed to, according to my professor), but it still worked out!!
the mask pre-bisque next to the sketch it's based off of!! As you can see it was it's own concept. also my saggars pre-fire! they're pretty :3
the mask with all the stuff on it before it went in for the saggar firing! the chart shows what went on it where.
the mask straight out of the kiln! as you can see it wasn't that vibrant.
I have made them real irl fr irl!! features based off stuff you’ve mentioned abt them include:
-squeakers in their chests (u can hear in the video)
-keyed wind up music boxes (sun plays it’s a small world and moon plays brahms’ lullaby (u can hear in the video))
-moon’s stars glow in the dark
-working bells, ofc
-sun’s head is posable, and the rays are a foam-y material
-they have wire skeletons inside so they’re posable!!
I made the pattern 100% on my own which I'm pretty happy about :D
wheeee I hope u like em :3 happy all hallows’ eve!!
(btw if you’d like me to send them to u irl dm me hehehoho)

Eggs Benedict himself! Based on my own design for Michael post-scoop, which I haven't drawn nearly as much as I should.
I'm very pleased with how gross it looks, I think my blending of colours to make a more varied and sinew-y-er looking purple paid off well (particularly the hints of green). The variations between glossy and matte in areas worked well too, I think, and I'm really happy with how the wire turned out!
WIP stuff under the cut!
Anyone who has worked in ceramics knows the hardest colour to achieve is purple. I'd attempted it with underglazes, hoping to get a good purple without paints.
But the pit firing didn't get it hot enough for the glaze (though it was cool, and I found it fitting to have him be in a fire. ehe)
This was straight out of the pit firing. Very ashy! Needed a bath!
The water was very gross, and very stinky, and his submerged mug scared several people half to death (I think he's cute, though)
Post fire progress stuff!
The inside of this masks looks GNARLY and I ADORE IT!! It looks like Ennard is still inside, hehehe... But that means it's not the most comfortable (or safe) to wear, so he'll be on my wall for the foreseeable future. I still put it on though, much to the dismay of everyone I know.
Handbuilt earthenware, raku fired and decorated with hand painted glaze accents.

I think it might have turned out the best of the whole series; exactly what I imagine The Puppet's mask would look like in real life. I'm very very happy with the result!

This mask was made with @little-sw33tie in mind - hi towoni :3 !!
Gaster mask!! Younger Naku going bonkers over having made this in my head!!
Firing this was a disaster. The glaze didn't get hot enough, so it didn't get glossy. Initially, I added details with horse hair, but I decided to put it back in the kiln so they got burnt off. There was water in it though, so it cracked a bunch, which would be terrible IF it wasn't Gaster!! It turned out so cool!! I'm so happy!!!
I put some in progress pics under the cut! Even a gif of the horse hair being applied - note how matte it is right out of the first firing

WOOO DEATH SOUL EATER MASK!! Technically the first mask I made in the whole series, and also the first and only mask to shatter into half a billion pieces (excluding Dusk Warden's, of course).
The death mask pictured to its left is the raku fired mask I posted prior to this one!
I'm always ecstatic about the effect of manganese reduction fired over porcelain. It looks just like bone in person!
