Someone’s boat gets wrecked in a storm, they’re in a lifeboat, and a sea monster is circling. They worry that they’re done for, and sure enough, the monster pops out and, well, eats them.
Surprisingly, the person finds themselves still alive but still figures the monster has some weird anatomy that means digestion will be slow. But after a day or two, they’re still alive and find themselves … spit back out onto land! Really, the monster didn’t want to hurt them. He just wanted to save them and take them to land

Preds who take immense pride in being preds, but not in a malicious way, rather in a protective way.
Preds who don't care what anyone says about them, they just care that their occupant is safe and comfy inside of them, frequently checking in to see how they're doing.
Maybe it's a pred-for-hire bodyguard situation, where the prey hires them to protect them, or the pred is just a protective friend who helps those they care about when they're in danger (or just need some comfort) by swallowing them down.
Either way, the pred takes pride in keeping them safe, and should anyone want to hurt their prey, they'll have to go through them first.

Today had been a nice day so far, we decided to go on a nice little walk, and enjoy nature quite a bit…
I smile at you and stroke your head, then suddenly you feel a drop of rain land on your head, I pull a slight face of shock “huh, it said it would only be cloudy today, I didn’t think it would rain”
I hold a paw out to feel the rain begin to get heavier, I sigh and look at you seeing you getting excited
To any outsider they’d be surprised to see someone celebrating seeing the rain clouds rolling in, especially considering you don’t seem to have a coat of any kind
I grab your shoulders and lift you up, gently gulping you down and stroking my belly once I do so, I sigh and continue on with my walk, the rain keeps landing on my belly, which provides a soothing noise as you relax in my stomach
You even put a hand to the stomach walls and feel the rain landing on my belly
You’re safe, safe from the elements with me, so just relax and… maybe you’ll be lulled to sleep with all the noises around you sooner than you thought.
The gurgles, my breathing… my heartbeat…
…don’t worry, just relax as I get us back out of this rainstorm.

I’m just imaging pred having some bad aches maybe from working too much or something, they stumble over to prey and give a small whimper of pain. Prey gently holds their preds face, gently petting their hair before asking if pred needs tum time. Without warning pred gulps them down immediately feeling their joins relax and the knots in their back fade as prey gives them comforting belly rubs to distract them.
Uff! Love this type stuff
And ofc the reverse where prey works out too much and pred gives them tum time to help relax their sore muscles with the warmth and message of their gut
