Ok I just have to scream about work for a moment.
Configuring a new PIM system for a client. They want this system to be able to deliver the same info to their Magento web shop as is being delivered now.
Their webshop is a fucking mess. I know this, because I have an internet connection and I can Go There And SEE IT FOR MYSELF.
They claim currently their product assets (like, PDFs with manuals and safety data and such) are linked to site language and you can see different assets for a product based on what site language you select.
THIS IS NOT TRUE. AS IN: I CAN GO ON THEIR WEBSITE RIGHT NOW AND SEE ALL THEIR PRODUCT ASSETS REGARDLESS OF LANGUAGE SETTINGS.
And I don't care what fucking screenshots of the backend of their website they show me, like... I believe that the backend looks like it would offer this functionality. And maybe it does! I know nothing about Magento, I do PIM systems not e-commerce. But even if it does, IT DOESN'T WORK!
CASE IN POINT: JUST VISIT THE WEBSITE AND SEE THAT ALL ASSETS ARE ALWAYS DISPLAYED REGARDLESS OF LANGUAGE SETTING.
Why do I have to jump through a million fucking hoops to recreate something that DOESN'T ACTUALLY WORK ON THE USER END ANYWAY???
