The Queen & The Core: Revelation, Devastation & Confrontation

Marcy Wu glared at Aldrich, a defiant queen challenging the false regent of her temple. Time after time, she had failed her people, her girls. Expecting them to follow her script had been the epitome of her foolishness, but no longer would she drag others into her willful blindness to the truth.

Despite her resolve, what rippled through her usurpers was not frustration at prey successfully out of their grasp. Instead, they laughed. How could they not? After all, sometimes truth is far, far stranger than fiction.

"Poor ignorant child," they crooned, "higher forces other than us have been regaling the world beyond your walls of your adventures. Of your escapades. Of your sordid little lies. You wish to reject our greatness and 'face reality' without even knowing what you want to run towards? Then far be it from us to hide exactly what reality thinks."

Like a soft breeze, unbidden whispers caressed Marcy's ears.

They had no kind words for her...

“Revelation, Devastation & Confrontation” is the transcript I wrote for (the climax of) a hypothetical Amphibia episode called “The Queen & The Core.” This episode was inspired by and created for the “We’ll Be Right Back AU,” which is the brainchild of @fermented-writers-block. When @fermented-writers-block first introduced me to the WBRB AU, my thoughts immediately drifted to Marcy and how the Transmitter’s antics would affect her storyline and character arc, especially since everyone would know that she played a significant role in causing the greatest crisis Earth has ever faced (aka the Core’s invasion). It’d surely be a bumpy ride for her, to say the least, and this fic is my first foray into imagining what that ride would be like.

“The Queen & The Core” is an episode which takes place in between “The Beginning of the End” and “All In.” It’s basically an extended and upgraded version of Marcy’s part in “All In,” during which Aldrich and the Core’s other minds attempt to manipulate her into joining them by appealing to her desires for knowledge, adventure and friendship. However, when Marcy realizes what’s up and refuses to assimilate, things take a different turn from the canon. A lot of people are pissed with her, after all, and her captors are all too happy to use this fact to their advantage.

With this new factor in play, can Marcy still overcome her urge to run away from reality and resist the Core’s temptations, or will this timeline see her succumb to her fears? To find out the answer, you’ll have to read the fic!

so, random story but when i was 13 i had this crazy box and then when i opened it i blacked out and then i woke up in newtopia where I fell down a flight of stairs broke my leg but luckily the newts have free public healthcare so then i became a loyal ranger and i fought this creepy cult kept folks out of danger slaying a killer cobra with a catapult i lived on a warship became a flipwart champion soon i was the kings trusted advisor i studied salamander brains tried bug appetizers (yum) then for fun dm'd some campaigns...

okay if you wanna pick up the long sword i need you to roll for a strength check because your character is a little wood elf and uh... THIS'LL BE FUN EVENTUALLY GUYS TRUST ME

i love it in amphibia so much adventure still to see hope nothing bad ever happens to me
