thoughts on blue sky? if you've read it, did you like it, etc, might've asked this already since my internet is being wonky so sorry if it's doubled

this is going to sound like a hot take but

I do not like Blue Sky.

I’ve read it about 3 times now — Once several years ago, another time semi recently, and then a third time I tried to re-read it after getting this ask to see if I was maybe too harsh on it, and it turns out no. This fanfiction just isn’t for me, and that’s okay. So I dropped it. I’m not the target audience for Blue Sky as someone who has my ground more firmly planted in the ChellDOS camp, and honestly I just kinda don’t, like, Wheatley? I don’t like Wheatley. I think giving him a redemption arc kind of misses the point under how I’ve chosen to read his character arc. I’m not saying that I think people are barred FOREVER from giving their blorbo a second chance through a fanfic, I just do not personally enjoy it, and that’s okay.

I have nothing against the author of Blue Sky, their writing for the fanfic is excellent even if their characterisation of GLaDOS at times I do not exactly approve of, my favourite moment in it still is when Atlas & P-Body see the outside world and just think it’s one huge Test Chamber because I find that characterisation of them adorable. Aside from that though - the plot doesn’t grip me, so ultimately I just decided that I do not like Blue Sky, and that’s okay, because I’m not the target audience.

I think they're the most dynamic duo ever.

Hey, I know you know alot of Portal lore, and was browsing TVTropes for "Hopes Sprouts Eternal" and got to the entry for Portal 2, which is how there is a wheat field at the end, but, the part that interest me was this part

"The Art Therapy DLC later proves that man did survive, as we can hear someone yelling at the bird once it flies away."

Is there someone yelling at the bird? I looked at the cutscene on Youtube, and, I can't hear any voices that are not Atlas, GlaDOS, or P-Body? I'm just genuinely curious were they got this information from, or, if it's just someone thought they heard, and nothing more.

I looked back over the footage and listened as close as I could - genuinely nothing, there is at most only caws coming from the Crow that are kind of quiet since they’re being talked over, but there’s no indication of any voice in any regard during that sequence besides GLaDOS and the chatter noises of Atlas & P-Body.
