So Kieran and Carmine’s classes being 1-4 and 3-2 confirm theyre first and third year’s respectively. Which is fine.

Until you realize that Lacey being a second year also confirms the player’s year as well, since we share classes with her at BB Academy, meaning the player is a second year.

Kieran, as a 1st year, is 14-15. The player, as a 2nd year, is 15-16. Lacey, as a 2nd year, is 15-16. Carmine, as a 3rd year, is 16-17.

Furthermore, Drayton and Carmine share classes, which means he’s also a third year. He also failed three times and is repeating his third year for the fourth time. That means he’s 20-21.

We also know Crispin is in the same year as Lacey and Amarys is allegedly the same year as Carmine, so 15-16 and 16-17 respectively.

So, to recap:

Kieran: 14-15

Florian/Julina: 15-16

Carmine: 16-17

Lacey: 15-16

Drayton: 20-21

Crispin: 15-16

Amarys: 16-17

Then you realize that allows us to calculate nearly every character’s ages in the entirety of Scarlet and Violet.

Nemona and Arven are older than the player and Carmine but haven’t graduated yet, meaning they’re over 17, implying around 17-18, aka 4th years.

Penny is a second year as the had to take a year off the school and is back to resume her curriculum in the normal pattern, meaning she’s 15-16, just like Florian/Juliana.

Along with that, we have Ortega who says he’s better the player by “a year”, which means he’s older than Florian/Juliana by one year, placing him at 16-17. However, he states he’s a second year, placing him at exactly 16 unless he was held back once and is in fact 17, which isn’t stated. That means he’s 16.

I’m not sure on information for the others, but there’s no dialogue or information as of yet for the other Team Star members and other important characters.

So, until then, these are the ages for every SV character that we have been able to calculate:

Kieran: 14-15

Florian/Juliana: 15-16

Carmine: 16-17

Lacey: 15-16

Drayton: 20-21

Crispin: 15-16

Amarys: 16-17

Nemona: 17-18

Arven: 17-18

Penny: 15-16

Ortega: 16

I can't go into the Kieran tags cus nobody knows how to talk about kid characters, especially child characters who fuck up badly. Like in general.

It's either treating him like he's an innocent angel who did nothing wrong and everyone around him is a monster out to torment him, or treating him like he's Satan Incarnate and deserves no happiness.

Like. I know these are fictional characters but can we think about kids like they're human beings. Please.

I think this is a wider issue with fandom as a whole, folks don't seem to grasp that children are worthy of more forgiveness because they are kids, but that does not include absolving them of all responsibility.

I don't know if y'all remember going to school at all, but kids are absolutely capable of knowingly making harmful choices, but no matter what spurred that on they still made those choices and are responsible for them.

Either that or people expect a teenager to have the maturity of a fully grown 30 year old and are shocked when they don't. Fucking hell.

Also people talk about Kieran like he's 5 years old sometimes I stg, he's a teenager with agency, he knows right from wrong, if you read his own fucking dialogue he is AWARE that what he's doing is wrong. But he decides to do it anyway. And regardless of whatever outside factors may have played a part, he still MADE that choice, it wasn't made for him.

Seeing him come back around and let everything go at the end of the Indigo Disk after nearly getting everyone killed wasn't satisfying because it was some Grand Comeuppance. It was satisfying because he realized he'd fucked up and wanted to be better. Because, just like he chose to do bad, he wants to choose to do GOOD. All of this is BECAUSE he has character agency.

Tldr: When talking about young fictional characters stop expecting full adult maturity BUT ALSO don't act like they have 0 agency in their choices

While Juliana does like being one of the Champions of Paldea and Blueberry Academy's newest Champion, she does get quite overwhelmed by her large amount of fans.

That's when Kieran steps in!

Those fans who try to follow Juliana around when she's on a date with Kieran? Ogrepon and Kieran's Hydrapple are ready for them!

The fans to endlessly try to pester Juliana into battling them (despite CLEARLY knowing the rules to battle a Champion)? Kieran will happily battle them instead and brutally wins everytime!

Trying to take pictures with Juliana without her consent? Kieran's absolutely pulling away from those weirdos!

This is the only acceptable way Juliana retains her blueberry champ title in my mind.

Call me salty but I think the player shouldn't be granted BB champ given that they don't even fully attend the school. I see Kieran re-rising the ranks after his break but this time he's like, actually chill now. LOL

Now, idk if I talked about it, but, have you considered about the other characters and their roles in your AU? Like the Paldea Trio and the BB Elite 4?

(Answering this ask as well because I have some ideas)

Okay so, I thought about some ideas.

So I was imagining that maybe the Paldea Trio can go with the protagonists to Kitakami? Maybe Arven could still have his deal of not trusting Kieran (may or may not could lead to Kieran's arc) Nemona could have a battle with the protagonist and Kieran could see that they're really strong. Penny is the only one I don't see much to do with (sorry Penny fans) but maybe she could befriend Carmine or something? Idk.

For the BB Elite 4, the most I really have ideas for is the boi Drayton. Basically the idea I had was like, Kieran becomes Champion, the protg defeats him, yada yada, Drayton says his Ex-Champion line...

But in my AU, I imagined Kjeran to just snap, pull out the Master Ball, bring out Dokutaro, and be like "Listen, you've helped me before, so I'm asking you to do it again! Help me get revenge on <the player>! I don't care how you do it!"

And maybe Dokutaro could be like HMM YOU DONT CARE HOW I HELP YOU SAY, LMAO GET POSSESSED IDIOT

(Okay maybe not like that but you get the general idea)

Drayton would basically be the straw that broke the camels back, unintentionally. In my au, I imagine Drayton to be the smug bastard as always, but it comes from a place of genuine care (and its just how he is). Kieran was a bully and Drayton simply gave him a taste of his own medicine. Unfortunately it led to Dokutaro revealing himself and taking over the entire school but Drayton had good intentions at least?

I'd also imagine Mochi Mayhem would be a LOT different with my version of Dokutaro XDD

I'll have to flesh this out a little more, but these are my ideas.
