This Prototype Digimon Looks Like a Pet

Just another fan art of a well-known Japanese multimedia franchise, this time a Digimon fan art. This Digimon in particular is Salamon (also known as Plottmon in Japanese), the Rookie form of Gatomon (also known as Tailmon in Japanese). She is my favourite Digimon, as she is cute and appears to have a simple design. The most surprising part is that Salamon is actually a Prototype Digimon designed to resemble real-life pets.

Owing to the Digimon lore, I have drawn Salamon interacting with a ball. We know that dogs are supposed to play and/or train dog fetching. However, Salamon is simply staring at the ball in this piece of art. She is contemplating what to do with it.

I have to admit that it wasn't easy to get convincing results when I drew this. Maybe I am unhappy with how her left foreleg is drawn, so the next time I should draw this limb as chubbier as the rest of her legs. Paraphrasing Francisco de Goya in his last sketches, I am still learning.

Holy arrow! Angewomon the goddess of light is here~ This will be the last one I draw, so far for my Digimon fan-art. It started of as an exploration of colouring and snowballed into something fun.

Holy Shit... Digimon Adventure Tri Soushitsu was... amazing. It made me quite upset that Pyokomon/Biyomon were as distant as they were, but I loved how Hikari was pro her “new” Plottmon. I mean of course Pyokomon needed to act the way they acted, but still I felt so sorry for Sora. AND HOLY MOLY HOW AWESOME SORA WAS!! She certainly kicked ass! She was amazing!

Himekawa and Daigo’s backstories were dramatic and I guess I kind of understand Himekawa better now. Not that I think it’s justified, of course... and Gennai omg what the hell.

WHERE ARE MY 02-KIDS!? Still I want to know where my kids are... my precious kids!!

What the heck is up with Homeostasis and Yggdrasil and Hackmon AND EVERYTHING.

WHY THE GODDAMN CLIFFHANGER. Please gibt me the next movie already xD;

I love the fact that Tailmon started off as a sympathetic villain but ended up as one of the most satisfying and iconic digivolution ever.
