So like, if I can ask, just bc you're... chill about most of the drama in the IY/YH; so like, is Yashahime canon or not? Is it a spinoff? I know some shippers are upset about something the mangaka said but both sides are saying a lot, so I just wanted to ask if possible- thank you so much if you're willing to answer!

so basically the whole deal with Yashahime is that while RT doesn't write it herself, she did create it's three main characters, provided the basis for the story, and has administrative authority on it; it's pretty well known that RT can veto what she doesn't like and at some point early on personally declined the idea of Yashahime's definitive main protagonist being an inukag kid in favor of Sesshomaru's (i am 99.99% sure this is right lmk if i'm wrong though)

she doesn't really have a lot to do with the story but she does veto out things she doesn't like and i imagine pitches ideas now and then; but she's stated that to her, Inuyasha's story is done and she has no interest in continuing it personally. but she did give her blessings for this story (knowing what'd come with it) and probably enjoys cashing in checks from Sunrise for it

what the mangaka said is that he basically he just agrees with RT's word, that he says that Yashahime is a possible continuation of the story of Inuyasha that she has given her blessing for; so i guess you can say as of now it's like a spin-off sequel that has significantly more input from the original writer than most. it did however make a lot of Yashahime's fans upset that it's not "completely" canon now, but as far as me and most fans are concerned it's canon to us! i guess there's just more room to basically just look away if you really care about canon?

and even the most angry of Yashahime supporters and shippers on his official tweets aren't even half as vicious as the people who hate Yashahime have been on official accounts, like one artist outright DMing one of the animators to ask if she was a p*do so lmao

honestly this is just how I always figured Yashahime was at heart so like, I don't care much, and if anything I just pray to God it means that -and I cannot stress this enough- that the people who dislike Yashahime just say it's not canon now and leave everyone else alone you can just say it's non-canon now god please just let us enjoy a cartoon in peace

the fighting in this fandom reached such utterly horrific levels that revenge p*rn being threatened was an actual serious concern. one of the most prominent anti-yashahime users had their blog deleted for posting personal information and on twitter encouraged the idea of this revenge p*rn until it came to bite her in the ass and deleted her twitter posts about. everything about this fandom is ass and if people who dislike it being able to dismiss it helps things calm down then i'm 200% for it even if I was slightly disappointed by the news

anyways i work full-time and can't devote everything to fandom nonsense anymore so i'm probably not remembering some stuff but that's my take on it

omg please where do i START there’s literally new stuff every week i stg and i’m not like going to hash it all out because it’s not my business really and you guys already know whatever happens to me is like immediately shared with you all but recently someone made an “expose/cancel” account and tried exposing people, only for the person behind it all to be the very person they were exposing on that account in an attempt to get pity and support from their mutuals because they were getting exposed for racist tweets they made a month prior (that i had called out and basically was ignored??? with over back then when it happened)... and they originally tried pinning the account all on someone else to try and not be caught... so yeah. do with that what you will.

also everyone is obsessed with stealing old tweets and getting the most likes/rts/followers/follows from “big accounts” oop like calm down we stan a cartoon how big of an account can you really be
