Cant Read You: Part 5!
-true to your word to Five, you and Klaus hadn’t left the academy soon after he brought you around. True, you went to work and to grab what you needed from your apartment, but any time not there was now spent in the mansion your mother worked so hard to keep you out of. She was probably rolling in her grave knowing you were cramming yourself into a tiny childhood bedroom of one of the umbrella academy and testing the strength of your abilities with them.
-A lot of days were spent with you just barely forcing your boundaries an extra five feet while Klaus was mostly sober and levitating just out of your reach. It was infuriating in so many ways to you. Often, by the end of your sessions you’d be so worked up you’d lash out so far that you could hear all the thoughts on the block.
-One night, Klaus suggests a break. Everyone’s kind of not for it at first, but they’ve figured that Klaus knows his addiction. If he only drinks tonight, he’ll be hungover tomorrrow and that’ll be the end of it. They know what to expect from him.
-Once you start to feel drunk though, things feel different. While no one treats you any different, you’re feeling farther and farther away until....
-“how did i fall?” You let out with a big laugh, only no one is laughing with you. It takes a moment, but then you notice your own body lying near you on the ground.
-“Vanya?” Allison asks, but she’s looking at you , which makes no sense.
-“Where DID Vanya go?” Klaus Asks. “And get off the floor Y/N.”
-He starts to lift you up but you notice it feels different than all the other times somehow, but you aren’t quite sure how.
“Klaus you’re helping Vanya up, but that doesn’t explain why you spoke to Y/N because they passed out a few minutes ago” Allison explained this, but it clarified nothing. As far as Klaus saw, he was helping you up. You had called and he had seen you on your butt on the floor. But then he turned his head.
-Identical to the person he was holding hands with, your body was lying on the floor. Was this what Allison was talking about? What was going on? He didn’t have much time to process because you started to panic.
-You in Vanyas body, which looked identical to you and Klaus , was actively looking from your own lap to the unconscious body on the floor and back again.
-As you breathed deeper and deeper, you felt yourself moving. With one big breath, you finally felt yourself pushing forward.
-And you were on the floor. You were laying on the floor. You took in your surroundings. Allison standing over you, Luther behind her, Diego and Five at the bar, and Klaus helping up Vanya nearby to you.
-While you can’t comprehend how you had switched places so quickly, and how Vanya was on the ground, Five only had a comment of “Interesting “ to share.
-“so you took over my sisters body. Did you mean to do that?” Of course you didn’t. You didn’t know you could do that. You were a telepath and nothing more. How could they know it wasn’t Vanyas powers? She was powerful beyond what they knew. It had to be her.
-“i get it” Klaus says. It’s not above a whisper, but your head whips around to look at him. What did he mean?
-“you’re dead!” Klaus isn’t excited , he’s scared as shit. He’s upset. “I think that’s why you can’t hear me.”
-was it true? No. At least, not completely. You were alive enough to live your life. You’ve always existed. You’ve grown. But would that make sense as far as his powers were concerned? It certainly made sense more than your powers did. Maybe you were dead.
-“no,” you say. “I can’t be. I’ve grown this whole time. I’m getting more grey hairs every day. I’m sorry but what you tell me about Ben he doesn’t have to dye his hair as much as i do.” This is your whole argument. It isn’t much, But it proves the one thing Klaus needs to know. You aren’t dead, not in the sense of dead that he knows. But what are you? How did you possess Vanya’s body? Why was the phone in the other room ringing off the hook after you had come to this conclusion?
