today was a lovely day, and i’m so glad. i needed it.

one of the books i ordered arrived in the morning before the rain came, and i can’t remember the last time i read with my favorite weather taking the place of a carefully crafted playlist. later, i bought a new pair of black jeans (my current pair was purchased in 2018 lol) and decided to go to a beloved cafe downtown to work. the online application wasn’t meeting my needs, so i couldn’t work and walked instead, popped into my favorite shops and listened to music. oh! i also met some lovely people at the cafe and asked them who did their tattoos, so now i finally have a local artist rec. i felt quite cute in my new jeans and reveled the cool weather: a welcomed byproduct of the morning rain. it didn’t get warmer than 74 today, and that’s a massive gift during a kansas june.

uh oh i thought this skirt fit me again but one can of crazy tiger later my stomach seems to disagree

mel is a demon (not the biblical kind) and studies whats basically magic biology + psychology =D she also really enjoys traveling and wood carving! cree is human and i originally made him a lawyer of some kind but currently that's up in the air lol, he loves bad tv shows and pointing out the inaccuracies in them! they watch horror movies together and laugh at how stupid the characters are <3

mel is as previously mentioned, a demon, she is thusly immortal so you can imagine the kind of angst that causes considering cree is a human dude, also since i've only mentioned this in some tags, cree is canonically trans

cree is the sole braincell in their friend group most of the time and he only uses it when he finds it funny or when his friends' shenanigans go a bit too far and they need bailing out

mel loves traveling solely for the sake of learning, she's totally the museum going type (cree is too but for completely different reasons) i imagine she gets genuinely a bit bummed when there isn't some kind of guided tour for her to take when traveling (she doesn't need it but she likes the experience)

they hated each other when they first met, cree was in a 'being an asshole is totally a normal and acceptable coping mechanism' phase and mel's usual trauma response is of the 'angry at the world and everyone in it' variety. they became close after being forced to become roommates and having to be in close proximity to each other's pathetic attempts at pretending to be alright

mel is american and cree is german-japanese, mel is completely emancipated + no contact while cree has a cordial but kind of strained relationship with his adoptive mother

mel's face markings are actually burns! (i just kinda suck at illustrating them lol) they extend all down her torso and part of her legs and arms

mel is very strong and frequently swings cree around just for funsies, whether cree enjoys this depends on the day

mel changes her hair very frequently, this is due to her demon-ness providing her shape-shifting abilities, this is hilariously the only thing she really uses it for

cree has a collection of those weird shirts that you see in facebook ads (and also memes) he got one from one of his siblings as a joke and everyone else just ran with it

speaking of siblings, cree has 8 and mel had 1, cree is also a twin though they're not really on speaking terms at the moment

mel cooks while cree bakes, because cree is good at the chemistry-ness of baking while mel is good at the whole add whatever your heart tells you to aspects of cooking

cree totally once mixed some unholy drink concoction (like coffee redbull and cherry pepsi or something similarly unholy) at 3 am and instead of telling him it was a bad idea mel probably asked him for a sip

mel is totally normal about her job she totally doesn't go on hours long rants about the effects of long term exposure to magical artifacts nope totally not

mel and cree used to be in a band, they played keytar and guitar respectively they were also the vocalist

i might be biasd bc my school has uniforms n my vibes r kinda like academic formal wear yk? but i think plaid skirts r pretty cool esp ones that like frill yk? instead of a-line or tight ones? n like black n white plad one would suit him methinks

plaid skirts ARE so pretty! my best friend has this pink plaid skirt and i love it so bad, i would invest in buying one if i didn't already have like way too many skirts in my possession to justify it LMAO; i deffo think that a black and white or maybe one with red accents would suit cs!ranboo! will be keeping this in mind for the future :]

So, magical girl outfits MTG mana inspired

So...To make sure they are all tied together, they would need a unifiying element, and I think...At the knee skirt, high waist seem or none, embroidery and some frills.

For mono-blue: I think her clothes should be the simpliest with a waistless garment with long-sleeves. I think a 1850s nightgown inspired garment with long sleeves (to protect from chaffing) would be nice, and perhaps a lower neckline with a deep blue ribbon, and some lace at the bottom. I think some knee-high stocking with blue garders would also help to tie the look together, and would be lovely combined with a little bathrobe, perhaps very simple. Would have some simple embroidery around the neckline, in blue thread, but that's really it.

For monoblack:

Now...Since, marshlands in MTG feature the greatest amount of chromatic variety, and it does show some XVIIIth century aesthetic elements, plus a more fantasy look to it. I think :"beautiful executioner's daughter" would be a very good look to her. Her wings do have a late XVth century aesthetic to them, so to be combined, the conical body of the XVIIIth century have to go. Which, does give plenty of info. Now, the aesthetic preferences of the Sanson family did fall into the dark murky colors. Ombré wool would work quite well, especially in dark murky colors of green, brown and grey. It would all form a dress with a at the flaring slightly above the natural waist, with some watteau pleats at the back. In the front, it would have an embroidered stomacher. Her neckline would be more squared, and the sleeves would be long and cuffless, with some buttons. Also, she'd have a box-pleated petticoat thta could be either plad or have a stylized renoncules pattern. I think the only place to put frills in this style would be by the gathers of the shift at the neckline.

For monowhite:

Now, the colorpalette for white plains in MTG are typically yellows, whites, golden and light sky blue, and usually feature brown shadows. Now, how about a simple tunic, with some lace at the short drappy sleeves and at the hemp. Somewhat open back to fit the wings.

For monogreen:

Classic medieval fantasy elf-inspired outfit, with a puffy shift, a corset and a skirt. The shift would be off-white, the corset brown and the skirt half-circle green, somewhat open back.

For monored:

Red is for mountain bioms, and many creatures have armor, so cold-adapted. It is also somewhat demonic. Not sure what to make for red...Probably armor. They also have traditional East Asian designs...Too many choices, and not in a color palette I like. So how about a shorter version of a mangolian deel, with wide waistband and a short, laced skirt underneath, plit, and with some puffed pants underneath.
