This is the ideal swimboy body. You may not like it, but this is what puk performance looks like.

i’m really really excited that apparently, starting in 4.0, our minions will stay summoned if we log out with them still summoned, yes, that is a good and best choice
that being said, the transition’s gonna be amusing because my reflex logging-in action is ‘hit the pierre button’ and this change means i’m gonna be muscle-memory-dismissing my puk and panickedly resummoning and apologizing for a week at least when the change hits

Drividot Nicot Daily Fact #4
Tumblr media
Meet Pierre, the pudgy puk, and Drividot's "ic" pet.
You are probably wondering how a Coerthan emigre came to have a pet that is basically a dragon, even though a really wimpy one. Here is the story!
Drividot found Pierre after he had already resolved to get the fuck out of Coerthas, and was in the process of working his way south to the Shroud. He spent a few days staying at a minor outpost due to a combination of needing to wait out a storm and needing to do some odd jobs for people to get enough money to continue traveling, and while he was there, there was a...problem in the soldiers' mess. Something was getting into all the food, and said something was resisting all attempts to kill it via rat poison and rat traps and it was exceptionally sneaky. Whatever-it-was sorely vexed the cooks, and Drividot wound up being hired to find out what it was and kill it, for a few gil. Day before he was to leave, he found it: the runtiest puk in the world, charring barrels to break holes in them to get at the food inside, likely abandoned or driven away from the clutch and resorting to stealing food from people to survive.
And it was a strange thing, to see A Dragon, to see the things you fear above all else, the monsters responsible for so much death and destruction--it's a strange thing to see it as something small, something pathetic, something as powerless before you as you expect to be before it. And it was a strange thing, to realize that this small, scared thing is scared of the same things you are--soldiers with spears and status and a desire to make use of both--as well as being scared of you. And being that these are strange things, and unpleasant to think about, and a good way to defang them is to make them banal and mundane, he wound up adopting the puk and telling the cook it was just an oversized chinchilla causing problems.
So Drividot adopted him and named him Pierre, and is now trying to take care of it. Puks are wild animals, not pets like cats or dogs, so it's a lot of work, especially due to how much it eats--and what it eats. Drividot figures that Pierre's somehow both really runty and really fat because he was too runty to kill his own food and resorted to raiding kitchens and eating people food, which is not terribly healthy for puks. He's trying to get Pierre to develop a taste for proper puk food and not cakes, but is meeting with very limited success in that area--in part because the puk is just as good at finding ways to break into Drividot's kitchen as he was that mess hall.
