This leaf from a tree in the East,  Has been given to my garden.  It reveals a certain secret,  Which pleases me and thoughtful people. (...) There is no more poetic way to describe the ginkgo tree. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe used his words carefully when writing this poem in 1815. And no surprise: the ginkgo is one of the most singular trees. To start with, it is, in simplest of terms, a living fossil. It has no living relatives and has experienced very little change for millions of years. The ginkgo's distinctive fan-shaped leaf has always carried symbolism. Because of it's split leaves it is associated with duality. This concept recognizes the feminine and masculine aspects of all living things, so it embodies the idea of yin and yang. The singularly beautiful ginkgo has been a symbol of longevity (the tree can live for a thousand years) and of a more profound endurance and hope. One of the ginkgo trees that survived the explosion of the Hiroshima atomic bomb still stands today. It grows near the centre of the blast, in an area now known as the Park of Peace. Dubbed the "bearer of hope," the tree has prayed for peace engraved in the bark. #pieceofjapan #ginkgo #kanzashi #tsumamizaiku (w: Warsaw, Poland) https://www.instagram.com/p/CFRd-nNggtQ/?igshid=zdfwfttlvajw

You've seen it coming! The new seasonal clips,  which in two different versions, are inspired by January maiko kanzashi. One classic red, with a golden swirl in the middle and a hagoita (lucky game paddles used to drive away evil spirits) and one pink with a fluffy silk centre and sensu fans, which by unfolding shelter you from bad luck. What do you think of this new pink version? 🙂 #wisteriagardens #pieceofjapan #kisetsubana (w: Warsaw, Poland) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDLy-N5A9Un/?igshid=1w3h77gln1olm

This seemingly simple pieace has been on my mind for some time. Made from traidional habotai fabric, it is a classic in red and white, with a small addition of green and gold. In my humble opionon it is a timeless classic! #wisteriagardens #pieceofjapan #tsumamizaiku #tsunamikanzashi (w: Warsaw, Poland) https://www.instagram.com/p/CAw_xcggGzE/?igshid=1pjt4xwflyjyb

While we are used to kiku (chrysanthemum) kanzashi made of many pointed petals there are surely many other varieties. Round petal pompom mums, spider chrysanthemums made of wire nd many more. This one is made of thin sparkly thread-covered wire. One of the lesser-known types of mum, it always is a treat to look at! #wisteriagardens #pieceofjapan (w: Warsaw, Poland) https://www.instagram.com/p/CAn0nxZgSRx/?igshid=ii2saavbg3sy

It snowed in Warsaw yesterday do I felt like doing something wintery. Two shades of blue paired up with white with a dash of silver are absolutely classy! I will be making another version with flowers - hang on for kusudama extravaganza! #pieceofjapan #wisteriagardens (w: Warsaw, Poland) https://www.instagram.com/p/B-ZlJ0LgIXp/?igshid=urv4ko56ffsn

Photographing light items on a white background is hard, and as much as I didn't like a black background, I finally tried to find the time to try it. Meet my classic and beloved design, suitable for every occasion and season. The multi-seasonal flowers are unique and elegant, additional white flowers and ombre green leaves form a beautiful, timeless composition. I hope you'll like this style as much as I do! #wisteriagardens #pieceofjapan #tsumamizaiku #tsunamikanzashi (w: Warsaw, Poland) https://www.instagram.com/p/B-KHHe3ALZU/?igshid=1v561v1xsj2kk

Do you like tsubaki (camellia) flowers? I do! This is the 2020 design I plan to have in my shop, but would you like more colour options? Like red or pink? Or both! Also, yes, I experiment with photo props a lot recently to improve my photos. WIP with this though 😉 #wisteriagardens #pieceofjapan (w: Warsaw, Poland) https://www.instagram.com/p/B8o8l0TgHyT/?igshid=1cbbx3b34y9ub

Red and white are an absolute classic combination of colors which I don't do often enough. Classic white freshwater pearls give it an elegant finish. #wisteriagardens #pieceofjapan (w: Warsaw, Poland) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9_zCDkA5C1/?igshid=1ektjl1aihh2o

Pine needles. In Japanese culture, the pine tree is known to represent longevity, good fortune and steadfastness. It is commonly linked with virtue and long life, even immortality. The pine tree is iconic of the Japanese New Year, as a symbol of rebirth, renewal, and a bright (hopeful) future. #wisteriagardens #pieceofjapan #kanzashi (w: Warsaw, Poland) https://www.instagram.com/p/B8rW2WwAwfd/?igshid=n28wzblc3elw
