hayley is canon up until the start of the group ! she stayed behind in new orleans at first when klaus had made his way to mckinley, mostly because she was struggling a bit with being a hybrid ( hates being a hybrid actually ). though with all the commotion going on and the risks to baby hope’s life as well as the arrival of the future kids, hayley felt that being away from hope is the worst possible thing.
now that she’s here, there are pieces of her that believe hope is not safe around klaus considering all this man’s enemies, but she is also worried about what klaus would do if she were to try to separate him from hope. so right now she is just keeping an eye out. she is also going back and forth about marrying jackson. she believes the crescent pack is her past and her future. if her family had believed that an arranged marriage to jackson would be the best scenario, she might be willing to give it a shot.

think shameless scenario. parental responsibility often fell back on margaret's shoulders, even when she herself was not an adult. she loves her siblings, and prior to the apocalypse, often babied them. she enlisted when the second oldest turned 18, hoping to give them a better life with the money she would make. however now, margaret holds them extremely close, to the point of being overbearing. they all were in dallas when the first outbreak happened, and margaret has had a steel grip on them ever since. none but the two oldest after her have jobs such as guards, scavengers, etc, as margaret doesn't deem the rest responsible enough. they lost their parents during the intial outbreak, so now more than ever, margaret views herself as responsible for the rest of them, so she often acts more as a mother / drill sergeant rather than an older sister.

I am honestly ashamed of the lack of (well-written) crossover fanfictions between the H2O/MAKO Universe and The Vampire Diaries Universe!
I mean:
Both fandoms shares actresses Phoebe Tonkins and Claire Holt (who play supernaturals).
The shows involves magic, full moons, friendship, romance, and supernatural transformations with mythologies to boot!
And lastly, neither fandoms confirmed nor denied the others' species existence! (Vampires, werewolves, mermaids, witches, etc.)
And you know what? Thanks to Mako Mermaids, we at least know how Rikki Chadwick could fit in: THE WOMAN IS A DEEP SEA DIVER!
Hell, considering how in canon, Tristan de Martell was dropped into the middle of the ocean, trapped by the Serratura (and likely eternally dead via the death of Elijah's sireline), what are the odds of Rikki finding the crate and getting the medallion without being trapped!? And then, putting it on display for a museum - similar to the Jiao Long Bracelet?
Now, that would be a good story!
Or basically a part-time mermaid (or hybrid) being mistaken for a Witch and sent to Salvatore Boarding School?
Or basically any scenarios where either the Mystic Falls Gang, the Mikaelson Family, or the Salvatore students finding out about mermaids!
(Hell, it may have been a joke, but Marcel did say to Henry Benoit he didn't care if he was part Mermaid 😆)
My point is: Both fandoms have a crazy amount of potential to do these crossovers, and...they just hardly exist.
Seriously!? Give me Rikki meeting Hayley and Rebekah! Give me Cleo and Emma meeting Hayley and the Mikaelsons family! Give me magical items crafted by mermaids that witches don't understand! Give me "WTF" moments when werewolves encounters mermaids under a Full Moon! Give me merfolk students in Salvatore! Give me that part-time mermaid/merman that somehow ended up a vampire in New Orleans!? OR a part-time mermaid with the Werewolf Curse!
(Wait, wouldn't the last two be hybrids as well? Merpire? Merwolf? Fuck yes, give me that too!)

Billy Kaplan is a great kid, a really great kid, and he’s meant for great things. However, that doesn’t mean that he has his whole life in order. In fact, he’s made everyone else’s life just a little bit more out of order. While travelling through dimensions and looking at different scenarios, he couldn’t help thinking about how interesting it would be if people were younger, accidentally bringing that into reality as a result.
It seemed to be a chaotic spell. Not everyone was made younger, but a lot of them went from fully grown adults to tiny children while others were only made younger by a few years. This affected everyone differently. Some of them noticed the difference. They remembered their older lives and what they experienced. They retained their powers and had to deal with them even at such young ages. Others didn’t know there was any change at all. As far as they knew they had only ever grown to be the age they were, never knowing the pain and hardships and powers that the older versions of them had or would experience.
How will everyone handle this sudden shift? What kind of chaos will it bring? Who all was changed by it? How long will it take for this to be fixed?
The event will last from July 30th to August 6th. As a reminder, no one has to participate in this event if they don’t want to. Please describe your activity: I’m going to say 6/10. Because of COVID I have a lot more downtime on my hands, so I should be able to dedicate a good amount of time to being active!
Anything else you need us to know: I’ve been out of the rp world for a long time (like over 5 years, yikes) and I’ve been looking for a great role-play now that I have more free time and this one really caught my eye, and I’m very excited about it!
D E T A I L S -
Character: Victoria Amberstone
What drew you to this character: One, I really love the idea of playing a human in this world where she is surrounded by supernatural forces, and her still being badass and doing her best to survive. Secondly, I have a soft spot for characters that are very independent, and think they don’t need anyone in their life, but then are able to slowly develop relationships and become vulnerable. I just think they are wonderful to develop, and would love to do that with Victoria.

Victoria to me gives off a ‘don’t mess with me’ vibe. So I felt like I needed to have a face claim with a little bit of RBF, because I feel like that is Victoria’s de facto setting. She wouldn’t be the type of person who’s body language and persona gives off a “come talk to me” vibe. And I think that both of these ladies have that same energy, but also can be soft.
I N C H A R A C T E R -
Please list at least two headcanons for your character:
1. Victoria hardly ever smiles on her on accord. Sure as a bartender, she’ll flash a smile here and there, give a flirty giggle to reign in the tips. (She has a very clear line of what she will tolerate, and what she will not.) But if you catch her outside of a shift— the odds of it happening are slim. She carries so much hurt and resentment and anger in her heart, she rarely ever is able to enjoy the beauty of it all, never lets people in close enough to be able to make her happy (because it’ll only hurt that much more when they’re inevitably gone.)
2. One of the first things Victoria does when she walks into any location is to note all of the entrances and possible exits. She marks every person that could be a possible threat. In her mind she has what she would do in any worst case scenario. Paranoid? Victoria wouldn’t call it that. She would call it being prepared. She would tell you that strange things happen around here and she goes everything in her power to make sure she’s not in a situation she can’t find her way out of.
3. When Victoria’s parents first died and she was on her own, she made her own boobytraps around the house. Trip wires, simple alarm systems, etc. She would rig them up to her windows, back doorways. Logically, Victoria knew that it wouldn’t do much good against any intruder who was determined to do harm, but it helped her to sleep a little better at night. She has since grown out of it, and puts forth a good amount of her paycheck towards top of the line security systems for her apartment. But on exceedingly bad days, after waking up from a nightmare, or when instead of comforting the emptiness of her apartment is daunting and lonely, she’ll put a few quick ones up by her bedroom door and windows.
4. Her parents call her Tori. She was Tori for as long as she could remember. Her mom’s eyes would crinkle as she said it, her gaze always filled with so much love. She’d say Victoria’s name like it meant something. Like it was a private joke between the two of them. Her dad would say it like it was the most important word in the English language. Like without her name, without her, he’d be lost. The day her parents died she stopped going by Tori. She was Vic to most now, or V. If anyone calls her Tori, she is the first to make it very clear that is not an executable name for her. In Victoria’s head, it is the clearest way to portray that part of her died with her parents that day. That the girl she was, she will never be again.
Please include a list of potential plots for your character:
1. I would love to of course have Victoria start to find a community, or at least one or two people she allows herself to trust. I don’t think she will ever be warm and fuzzy and be the type to befriend anyone and everyone, but I would love for her to slowly let down her walls and allow people in, while still maintaining her independent and fierce spirit. I think it will be fun to develop and allow her to try and find the balance between doing everything on her own and allowing people to help her.
2. I would love to navigate Victoria’s feelings if/when she finds out about other species. I think with her already being untrusting, this would make it that much harder for her to really let anyone in. If she was starting to get close to someone and then found out they were anything other than human, it would just destroy her and reinforce all these feelings that she can’t trust anyone and people who come into your life only hurt you in the end. But in the same realm, if would she get some peace from knowing the true reason behind her parents death? Would she be vengeful? These are all things I would love to explore with her.

Athena Hainex was the troubled kid. The one that couldn’t stay in place and whispered evil plans to her siblings, the devilish voice who’d often get everyone a night without desert and memories who’d last forever. Not that she was mean or anything but being the youngest sibling of a family of seven had to have its perks somehow. She was the reckless and rebel one, the one that taught her younger cousins how to sneak out and avoid the chores. Like all the Hainexes, she had been taught to ride a bike almost immediately after taking her first steps and she and her father shared a common love for all-things motorcycle. If she wasn’t at the beach challenging the waves, you could be sure Athena was somewhere with a book in one hand and a pen on the other, sometimes writing, sometimes reading and more often than not; both. Nicole, her mother, had passed on her passion for books to all of her kids and soon enough, the urge of writing down the hundred stories that took place in her head became more exciting than the thrill of the road. She’d go to the beach but instead of getting in the water, Athena would sit in the sand for hours and write endless scenarios of enchanted worlds where fairies granted wishes and elfs whispered magical incantations who’d make you fly off the ground.
Athena stopped writing about fairy tales the day her father got injured on his motorcycle. There was no way those mythical and happy creatures could exist, not if things like that could happen in the real world. Some would say the family’s moving to New York had done nothing to Athena but her writing told a whole other story. Castles were turned into skyscrapers, fairies into the very stressed residents or the Big Apple and Prince Charming was selling newspapers on the corner of Broadway and 99th Street. She was now exposed to a new perspective of the world and she was enjoying it a rather reckless way. Athena would sneak out to parties, only coming back in the early hours of the morning and substances would help her forget her father’s incident but then again, she was a wise girl and Athena knew when to stop. The enchanted worlds she’d been writing about became the real living one and her tales were a little bit more realistic, her own experiences setting a canvas to a whole new set of characters. Her parents were immensely proud of all their children, even if one of them was a little more bad-behaved. Soon enough, the sentences she’d write would turn into chapters and those turned into books and before she could even realize it, Athena was being published at the age of eighteen. Her book series became immensely successful and within a year, she got a contract from notorious producers of the city who wanted to turn her books into movies. In the thrill of the moment and the exciting promise of a future filled with success, Athena accepted and immediately began writing other books.
She attended NYU and majored in literature, writing more and more books as the years passed. Everything seemed to be working out for the best. She had a nice, luxurious apartment in the middle of the city and nothing ever seemed to be a bother for the young woman but as always, the unexpected hit and Athena’s world collapsed. In the middle of writing the final book of her latest series, she received a phone call announcing her father’s death and just like that, she couldn’t pick up her pen anymore. As soon as she was about to write a sentence, telling herself that i’s what Erik would’ve wanted, she’d be reminded that there were no happy endings and there was no point in coming up with new scenarios if they would inevitably all end in the same heartbreaking and painful ways.
Athena’s publishers didn’t seem to care one bit about her family problems or her complete loss of inspiration, all they knew was that the scripts weren’t coming along and so was the money. The pressure became too much and she decided to quit, leaving a note to her publishers that explained the reason of her departure, planning to move back to Vermont but they wouldn’t let her go off so easily. After weeks of arguing, they finally came to a compromise. Athena was allowed to move to Atlanta, in a nice apartment where she could forget about the stress and the work but still be fairly close to her family. Her publishers had promised a monthly revenue but only if she could send a least a chapter per month, insuring her agents that she was still working. She is trying her best to write out her ideas but without much success as trouble always finds its way into her life.

Athena is almost done with her last book but cannot get anywhere with the chapter she is currently writing. She avoids her place like plague simply because she doesn’t want to face the truth; that she has no idea where to go with her characters. Athena is even contemplating getting a day job just to get her mind off it all, knowing full well it would be a very bad idea.
One of her the things she loves to do is cook, expect she’s not very good at it. She’ll invite people over to taste her newest discovery in the culinary world but truth be told, it often ends with a takeout night rather than a success. It doesn’t bother Athena however, as she enjoys most experiences, including pathetic cooking failures.

( victoria is just the latest in a line of traumatized students to begin attending the school / living in paragon, but… when i say she’d really benefit from having someone who’s trying to listen and understand and help her… i mean it. they don’t even have to be fully licensed therapists - and part of me kind of loves if it’s just someone doing this out of the goodness of their heart. she’s spent twenty six years being broken down into a shell of an actual human being, and under her “fathers” thumb, she’s never developed any sort of emotional or social or, well, normal skills needed to live, and really suffered every sort of abuse a person could. she certainly has some sort of stockholm syndrome from it all that’s going to be hard to break through, and she just needs someone who’ll listen, and hear her, and then.. offer a shoulder to lean on, or offer words that might help her through. )

( twenty six years spent being little more than another weapon in victor creed’s hands means that victoria has… a lot of blood on her hands. i dare say that none of it is blood she wanted to spill, but the fact remains that she never really knew enough torefuse. she’s done a lot of things she’s not proud of, and she’s hurt a lot of people - meaning she’s going to be spending a great deal of her very long life trying, in vain, to make amends in some way. i want for her to encounter people who she’s hurt. either directly, or that… she hurt their family or distant family before alongside victor, and either she recognizes them and seeks them out, or they recognize her and seek her out. give her people who shout and scream about what she’s done, and people who can’t believe she’s being allowed walk around and keep on living. give her people who know she was just another victim of a psychopath, who could maybe give her something she’s never had before - forgiveness - and make her feel a way she’s also… never felt before. give her all sorts of connections under this heading bc i think it’s unrealistic if she has none. )
