Yeah, same for Makoto. They and the rest of the Future Avengers went to a Holiday party up in Attilan. Mom went with ‘em.
It’s not so bad. Me and Pete still came. We wanted to give you our gifts in person.
Skull: (feeling a little happy) Thanks, Harry.
But Makoto did get you a nice gift before he left.
Skull: Yeah, prime seats for an upcoming soccer game. Nothing World Cup since they’re finished, but still a good game.
Okay, enough small talk. It’s present time.
Skull: Whoa, girl. There’s still a few more guests comin’.
Really? I thought those two kids were the last ones to show. (points his thumb at Lavenza and Jose)
I am aware that there are more guests coming. Most of them were invited here by the best friend of the Trickster and one family was invited by girl who makes art with her movements.
I hope they get here soon. I was told they would be in Tokyo because his father’s pen pale lives here.
I still can’t believe you invited that kid and his family over here.
Violet: Please be nice, Dad. It’s Christmas. What do you have against him, anyway? He’s such a nice young man.
Violet’s Father: I still think you’re a little too young to be in a relationship. Don’t get me wrong, I like him. He even comes from a military family. I guess after all this time... I still think of your sister.

(whispering) He’s probably here to discuss that thing from you were talking about at the school festival.

Nothing can be more nice than spending Christmas with good friends and family... Even though I’m sometimes bad company.

>Panther twirls her finger and the door magically expands enough for Flesh to squeeze through and get inside. Once he did, the door returned to normal.
Panther: I should thank Bloom and Tecna for that interior design spell. Bloom said it really comes in handy when she’s helping Mike and Venessa at their house or the flower store. I even used it to help fix up the apartment every now and again.
Joker: (taking notes in the new dairy with the magic pen) You should teach me that, too. Maybe I can use it to redecorate the attic for me and Yusuke.
May I request extra space to set up my art station? That way, I don’t have to pack up my supplies every night before we go to bed or if we have guest and have to set up the table.
Hey, while you’re at it, why not do the whole café? Maybe fix up the bathroom. Extra points if you add one of those diner stools at the counter or replace the booth seats’ upholstery with Corinthian leather... I’m just joking. Don’t do anything to the café without at least making sure it’s okay with me... But seriously, do you think you can fix up the bathroom?
Oracle: I understand. It looks like it’s seen better days. I think the sinks clogged and the toilet keeps leaking big time.

Queen: I can’t believe you invited those three.
Skull: I know. But it’s Christmas and Mom said I should really give him another chance.
Paine: Indeed. Even I have to respect the truce that is this holiday.

They’re staying at the Wilton Hotel. We thought a trip to Tokyo for the Fight Before Christmas Tournament, Christmas, and New Years would be the perfect gift for them.
That’s nice of you and your mother, Lioness chan. We should spend New Years with them while we can.

Speaking of the Fight Before Christmas, for those of you hadn’t got the results yet, here they are.
Joker: I still can’t believe I didn’t make it.
Queen: But at least you made it out of the First Round.

Duke: We didn’t get to see the tournament. We know Joe Akamine is the champ, did Yuki finally beat his rival?
Queen: Well... No. In the end Joe remains the champion. But I don’t think Yuki is done. He’ll try again next year, I know it.
Admin: Not unless Soul Taker gets to him before he does.
Spydah: (confused) What’s with the shades, kid? (takes Admin’s sunglasses with one of his “appendages”)

I’m beginning to regret coming here today. I only came to give my contribution to the party. I bought a many boxes as I could.

I come all the way back to Japan to spend the Holidays with relatives and I’m greeted by an Arashikaga ninja.
Axel: And I thought Dragon was like that.
Fox: It’s nice for you to be here, Ojisan.
Goemon: It was not easy, but I am here now.
Joker: If you’re here, does this mean my favorite cousin is close by?
Goemon: (shaking his head) He and Jigen have their own Holiday plans this year... Mostly Jigen chasing him chasing Fujiko. I last saw them in the Sahara Desert.
Joker: Well that’s a shame. Maybe another time.
Paine: (a sadistic look on his face) I agree... And I have a few choice words for him about his father and grandfather.
Axel: (face palms himself) Really?
Goemon: I’m not going to ask for the sake that it is the Holidays.
Jonny: It’s so good to see you two again, Taro, Goemon.
Taro: Yes. And we’ll be family soon.

I am still pretty new to how these Holiday parties go. I think they may not be the same as the ones we have back home. Even if our worlds are similar.

It’s mostly just traveling and trying to stop Eklipse. I think we had fudge once.
You remember the fudge, Bren. The rest of us just exchanged whatever gifts we could find.
Noir: That sound complicated.
Chase: Not really. But it does get a little boring after a while.
Queen: Well, hopefully this will be a nice change of pace.
This will probably be the first actual Christmas I’ve celebrated.
Bren: Am I even going to ask how Dr. Klipse celebrates the Holidays?
Dax: Probably best not to know, mate. Or we might never sleep at night again.

(panicking) Nope, everyone’s here. I’m here. You’re here. We’re all here. No one else is coming. Let’s get this party going.

Boss: (laughing) I don’t know what’s got you three so jumpy. It’s just my guests.

Peter: Now for the next one. This is something me and Harry worked on. It’s upgrades to the suits we gave you. Akechi, your Superior Spider-Man Suit can now camouflage just like Spy-D and my Steal Suit.
Harry: Ryuji, your Goblin Suit can also make you a bit more faster. Especially if you have the Glider. Though, I can’t promise it’ll always help in windy situations.
>Skull and Crow quickly put on their suits to test them out. No doubt, Crow was gone in a matter of seconds and Skull ran around the restaurant in just one.

Catherine: ... The Trickster, Ren Amamiya, can be awakened from this sleep. But only if... he makes it to the top of the Tower.

Valentine: Maybe I can help. I’m just as good at magic as Lucien is.
Jonny: (hopefully) Then, you can undo this curse?
Valentine: (shaking her head sadly) You heard Catherine, nothing can change it... But maybe I can add to it. The one thing you can count on demons... is that most of them never really understood fairy tales.

Of all the beasts affected by man's progression and development of the land, it should be obvious that the fate of the Hidebehind was one we did not see. As a species famous for hiding from sight, even under impossible circumstances, how could we know what befell them as urbanization and fragmentation consumed the continent? We knew they existed, the olden tales made sure of that, but in what numbers and what health, we simply didn't know. As the trees turned to steel and the earth to asphalt, we wondered what became of them with many of their homes lost. Did they flee to wilder lands, hiding in parks and preserves? Did they perish as the trees they hid behind toppled down atop of them? It was hard to say. Obviously, a population count was impossible. You can't see what is determined to remain hidden. The successes in trapping them didn't help much either, as tagging them and tracking them simply didn't work. Any marks given to them vanished, and all equipment strapped or injected simply fell off. The dilemma always brought to mind the old tale of a man who caught a Hidebehind, and was determined to see its true form. The man took shears to its shaggy coat and shaved it down until he was somehow left with only a pile of fur, claws and branching horns. Perhaps we could not tag them because there was nothing to tag, a body so impossibly thin and fluid that it defied all known methods. Glimpses and sightings did give us an idea of their locations, and trail cams helped pinpoint a few roaming groups. All this, though, was a drop in the bucket compared to what we didn't know. Were these individuals just the few of the many we were able to see, or are they the last of their kind? A vanishing species now vanishing for good?
If there is one good thing to come from the increase in security systems and public monitoring, it is the fact that cameras in cities started to reveal the fate of the Hidebehinds. As we consumed their home forests, we assumed they fled to greener pastures. It seems now, though, that these phantoms clung to our own shadows and stood as witnesses as we constructed our own nests. Security cameras and paranoid neighborhoods would claim to see movements in shadows, or suspect some foul miscreant lurking in the night. At the time, most of these incidents were chalked up as people seeing criminals and hoodlums in every dark alley or poorly lit street. The media filled parents and homeowners with fear of the faceless stranger, of the unseen roaming gangs of thieves and murderers waiting patiently for an unlocked door or unsecured window. So when countless sightings and reports came in, no one thought much of it. Just another case of paranoia or overreaction to a new neighbor who didn't quite fit the suburban standard. After a few undeniable videos caught on security cameras, researchers scrambled to collect all these odd reports and comb through them. It then became clear that the Hidebehind had been amongst us this whole time, lurking in the alleys, street corners and backyards. Though their trees were gone, there were still plenty of places to hide, and they did so with the same masterful technique as always. Food was no worry for them, as they just followed the ways of the raccoon, crow and other urban pests. Trash cans and dumpsters were rummaged, unattended food items were swiped, and the victims of the ceaseless road gave them access to plenty of meat and intestines. It should have been obvious at that point, when people complimented road crews for their impeccable work of cleaning up roadkill. Somehow those messy carcasses disappeared overnight, yet no one gave thought on the fact no one saw a single truck come by to do it.
As more footage has been compiled and strategic cameras have been placed, we have learned more of the Hidebehind's adaptations. They use the shadows made from streetlights to slink about. They have figured out motion sensors and know how to slip past these automatic lights, or how to use them as a distraction. Fences are godsends and attics are safe havens. They have learned of the stray animals that wander the streets, and the pets that foolish owners let roam free. It turns out coyotes aren't the only ones to blame when Mittens doesn't come home in the morning. Doggie doors let in more than just Fido, and every cracked open window has a chance of inviting someone else to your home. Researchers also claim that their adaptations aren't just behavioral, but physical as well. Pictures have shown that their furs have grown darker and blacker in color, to further cloak themselves in the shadows. It also appears that their branching horns are becoming shorter and less prominent, as they have fewer trees to blend in with. It seems like the Hidebehinds are doing just fine, moving right in with us and taking advantage of this new ecosystem we've created. Most people are less thrilled about this, but there is little they can do. How can you call an exterminator for something you can't even see?
Despite all that was learned, there was one question that still plagued the research community. We saw how the Hidebehinds hunted and traveled in our towns and cities, but what of their young? Where did they keep their pups as they lurked in the shadows of our civilization? Young Hidebehinds were once kept in the hollows of trees or in caves, waiting for mommy to come home with fresh entrails. Though they are pretty good at hiding at a young age, they are a bit clumsy, sloppy and a tad rambunctious. Even when mom says to sit still and wait, they tend to wander sometimes and get caught in some play. In the tranquil forest, this was no harm, as no beast could catch a Hidebehind pup, let alone even spot one. But in our jungles of concrete and steel, not every danger has eyes to see. Speeding cars, roaring construction equipment and the flowing sea of humanity provide plenty of threat to bumbling pups. No doubt they would be trampled or run down, even if the foe didn't see them in the first place. However, no such reports have come in, so the Hidebehinds must have found a safe haven for their young. Many assumed that the city provided plenty of crevices and holes for them to make nest, like dumpsters or abandoned buildings. Some suggested they moved to city parks and playgrounds, using the trees found there. Others believed they left the city and took their young to the outskirts, despite the grueling journey that would be for the tending mother. The theories were many, but none properly answered the question. Even so, no footage or pictures were coming out to prove any of them true. In such a surveillance state, surely a Hidebehind nest in a park or empty building would eventually be captured, right? But none were ever revealed, which left us all not knowing. Well, not exactly all of us.
Though there was plenty of arguing and debate over the mystery of Hidebehind pups, there was one group who knew the answer quite well. Their claim was made quite early on, but no one paid them any mind. The answer was right there in front of everyone, but no one bothered to think twice on it. Throughout all this, this one group continued to champion their solution to this mystery, but we ignored them again and again. It was only until recently when a research team decided to test this preposterous theory and then shockingly find it to be true. One would say "who would have guessed," but there were plenty of folk who had already guessed long before this. It seems obvious now, but no one could have really imagined the Hidebehinds to be this crafty. After all, what beast would be so bold to place their young in such a location? What creature rears its pups in the nest of the ecosystem's apex?
The revelation of this fact has set the research community, and many households, ablaze with questions, worries and concerns. How did this happen? When did this happen? How come it took us so long to figure it out? These were the storm of demands that came from so many homes and parents. They make accusations now, of the scientists being stupid and oblivious, but before all this they were just as ignorant to the truth. They didn't listen at all when the theory was championed again and again. After all, what parent truly believes their child when they say there is a monster in the closet?

Yes, I have already drawn a Hidebehind and given it my usual ludicrous spin, but that was before I started doing this modern fearsome critter thing and the entry had nothing really to it. "So why not redraw the old des-" REDRAW?! IN THIS HOUSEHOLD!? Make the same thing twice you say?! Ludicrous! Preposterous! Unthinkable! To reuse a design, the gall! It has nothing to do with the fact that I struggle to draw the same thing twice, it is a matter of......uh.....ethics! Doing the same design again would mean I would have to give it a different pose, or show it from a different angle, or literally draw it in a way that I can't draw it! And we can't be having that here! So here is a new Hidebehind design with lore to match! I had to make this entry after I stumbled upon the revelation that boogiemen are just urbanized Hidebehinds.

Do you have any headcanons for how he interacts with other confidants? I could see Akira introducing him to Yoshida, and asking Yoshida to offer him a job.

I think Mishima still retains a somewhat isolated social life throughout the course of the game tbh. He strikes me as someone who desperately wishes for meaningful human connection but doesn’t know how to go about establishing relationships, especially since he’s been bullied and friendless most of his life. Even the beginning of his confidant with Joker reads as a very professional/transactional one because of the Phansite. Of course Mishima does go through his own arc of discovering his self-worth yadda yadda but man does canon Joker really not enjoy his presence lmao, idk if you could call that an “unbreakable bond” honestly
If canon is to be believed and he’s been ostracised throughout middle school then I don’t think he’d have the social skills/experience to make friends easily either ): That one confidant rank between Joker, Futaba and Mishima still makes me cringe when he’s all like “pog you’re so pretty you must be one of those cam girl streamers k e k haha it’s a joke get it” like damn boy my face is collapsing in on itself you’ve made a blackhole thanks. I like to think Mishima goes home afterwards and screams into a pillow vowing never to speak again just so he doesn’t have the chance to make an ass of himself, but then he wakes up the next day and looks into the mirror all “the Phantom Thieves would definitely be lost without me, I’m totally not a zero or anything >:c” Mishima having the barest self awareness makes it really funny in a tragic sort of way 😂 like dude stop hitting yourself
This part definitely strays into headcanon territory, but I think he’d try to fill up his free time by hanging out in the busy parts of Tokyo (assuming he somehow pulled himself away from the Phansite), or pursuing other hobbies like volleyball — anything to stave off his loneliness really. Getting into vaguely heated discussions in the off topic forums of the Phansite is probably his favourite past time lmao (idk what he’d talk about but it’s def some deep nerd shit)
I guess Ryuji and Mishima could have a friendship of sorts off-screen? Especially since it’s mentioned that they work out sometimes (which brings me so much joy ;_; ) I could definitely see the both of them talk out their shared trauma from Kamoshida if they ever let themselves be mutually vulnerable enough. Ryuji’s a friendly enough extrovert that he could help to bridge the awkward gap between Mishima and other acquaintances, then anything could happen from there really

Ya know, I truly wonder how long Hawk Moth rein would long if a character crossoved there. Like, I get it every single ml character is dumb, but would the crossovers also be affected? I'm pretty sure anyone with more than one brain cell can easily tell Marinette a way to deal with him. Like... the wish, since we don't really know the drawbacks and she can just wish for everything to be as Gabriel "wishes" (ie. if his wife isn't in coma, there's no plot), thus she can have her LIFE back.
As much as I want to argue it, Miraculous is sadly a show where everything is dumbed down and also made some combination of both overpowered and nerfed in order to make it "work" while also keeping the plot at a standstill whereas most other shows and stories play their characters and settings straight and have progression.
In order to make any level of crossover work without completely overwhelming or outclassing Miraculous or otherwise solving all of their problems for them and risk showing them up, people seem to do some mixture of amping up the competency and setup of the Miraculous side to make them better than how they're portrayed in canon and dumbing down the other side to make them fit in with Miraculous so they aren't complete game-breakers for the world and the whole Hawk Moth conflict.

I can investigate Hawk Moth's identity by using the EXACT species of butterfly he's been using to transform people and pulling up records of who in the area has at any point made a purchase of said butterflies or just check out any strange building schematics for your city to see who has built a secret lair in the last twenty years and then break into his home to catch him off guard.
Joker: We're the Phantom Thieves. Give a bit while we check out Paris's version of the Metaverse where we can locate Hawk Moth's literal shadow and cause him to have a change of heart!
Static Shock: I'm Static Shock and this is my partner, Gear. He can use his backpack and super smarts to go over all footage of the akumas from various security cams in Paris over the past year and triangulate where they're coming from. Then he can take over Hawk Moth's security system and turn it against him without warning while we sneak in and I can zap him.
Robin: Hello, we're the Teen Titans. We have Cyborg, who can also check Paris's security cams to triangulate where the butterflies are coming from, as well as Raven, who is an empath and can use her powers to try to locate Hawk Moth and then transport us all to him so we can take him down.
Danny Phantom: Hello. I am Danny Phantom. I can fly as well as go invisible and intangible, so I can search the city over for this Hawk Moth and then literally just pluck the Miraculous off him before he knows it. I also have a possession ability that may or may not work on akumas and Hawk Moth himself that would allow me to find him and make him turn himself in that way.
Future Trunks: Hello, I'm Trunks Briefs and I am from the future. So I can tell you with absolute certainty that Gabriel Agreste is Hawk Moth. He's also going to force his son's girlfriend to break up with him so he can akumatize her and will accidentally result in the complete destruction of Paris and the moon. Prompt: How about the thieves visiting Ryuji in Gekkoukan. Maybe there's some event that has schools suspending operations in Tokyo and wherever Ren returned to, so the thieves decided to visit Ryuji. They see Ryuji in the prescribed uniform looking all sharp. cue their reactions.
Well maybe not visiting, but maybe a video call?
The Phantom Thieves had promised to stay in contact with each other following the chaos that was Summer Break. But with most of the group dealing with the workload that comes with being a Third Year, plus the two Senpai in university, it’s taken the crew at least three weeks before they all have a clear enough schedule to even video chat.
Futaba lets out a yawn as she and the early to the call people wait around. “Ugh..Ryuji’s taking too long to connect.”
“Didn’t he say he just got a new laptop? It’s probably giving him some issues.” Haru giggles, moving some hair out of her face.
“..be lucky that we’re roommates and we’re sharing this Laptop for calls, Haru.” Makoto sighs.
Ren’s screen finally shows up. “Sorry, had to finish up a paper real quick. Didn’t miss anything did I?” He adjusts his Yasogami uniform a bit.
“Haven’t changed at all yet? I’m telling you, Shujin’s uniform looked better..” Futaba states. “Though I guess it looks good on me, ehehe!”
Yusuke seems to be observing Ren’s uniform with fascination. “Inaba, yes? I had heard there’s a famous hotel known for it’s hotsprings. The Amagi Inn. The history there must be outstanding!”
Ryuji finally shows up, stretching as the cam comes on. “Sorry for keeping all of you. Laptop did a force update n’ shit.”
Like Ren, seems Ryuji’s yet to change out of his uniform. The well known Gekogan Uniform.
“Whoa! I know you said you moved Ryuji, but I didn’t realized you moved to the Port Island.” Ann exclaims.
“Yeah...” Ryuji nods tiredly. “I’m originally from here, so it’s more like I moved back. Shit here’s a lot more hard than what Shujin offered.”
“So I’ve heard...” Makoto nods. “How were you even able to get in, Ryuji?”
“That part’s a long freaking story, and I still feel like strings got pulled by someone...” He furrows his brow as he speaks, folding his arms in view of the cam.
“Pulling Strings? How so?” Ren asks, tilting his head.
“I-I duno man! Maybe everything with Gramps has me a bit Paranoid or something! You saw my Grades at Shujin, I barely survived on my toenails there!”
“Several famous people went to school there, you know.” Haru smiles. “You watch Feather Man, right Futaba-chan?”
“Oh! Oh! The actress for Pink Argus was a graduate from there, that’s right! It was the first time in series history that Red wasn’t the leader! Everyone online thought that it’d change the series formula forever but that’s yet to be seen.” And there she goes, nerding out.
“Well, now here’s the big money question for you Ryuji.” Morgana smirks as best as a cat can. “If a big name actress can obviously get good grades...then how are yours?”
“I bet he still suucks~” Futaba teases.
“Actually...I’m doing okay.” Ryuji shrugs. “While I’m not apart of the Track Team up here, a few of the guys from it dragged me into a study group. That, was the other reason why I was late. Still doesn’t mean any of this shit’s easy to me, though!”
“...maybe we should have done more study groups while we were all at Shujin still.” Ren wonders outloud.
“Uh, ya THINK? Coulda helped both me AND Ann!”
Everyone laughs.
“Yusuke, you’ve been quiet this whole time...is everything okay?” Makoto asks him, noting how he’s been in deep thought.
“Getting accepted to a high profile school...it’s strange, but I think there may actually be something afoot. But...normally if any of us gets targeted, it’s Ren. He is the one who still has records within the Police due to the stunt we pulled in Nijima-san’s Palace, as well as his false arrest.” the artist staes.
“I’m kinda on Ryuji’s side with this. We’re getting paranoid.” Morgana states. “Nothing bad’s happened since we got rid of the Jails. And we’d get contacted by Zenkichi and Ichinose if anything did happen, remember?”
“Or hell, even Doc.” Ryuji shrugs. “Just say I got lucky and leave it at that. They mostly commented on my sport skills anyway so...”

8 - superheroes/powers AU - kind-of, this one’s a magical girl AU. AkaAoi

"Hurry!" She whispers as she takes a huge flying leap over the ridge of the roof, the ends of her sash fluttering behind her. Ahh, she'll never get over this, the sensation of almost-flying, of jumping into the air, and instead of falling, she—
—floats, as gently as if gravity was a dream.
She lands with an elegant click on her heel, right onto the next roof.
"Ao-chan!" Scandalised and red-faced, Akane catches up to her, looking quite dashing in his new get-up. His magical girl outfit, she supposed she could say. He lands with a neat step, his mask glinting gold underneath the light of the moon, and scattered streetlights. "Don't go ahead without me!"
"I was careful not to be seen." She pouts at him, tucking her arms by her hips. She'd even ensured there was a shadow of a cloud passing before taking the leap. Anyway, who even looked up on rooftops? At most, stargazers or security cams.
"No, the problem is-!" He waves a hand, flustered. "Your skirt, Ao-chan! What if someone saw?"
"Ah." Aoi stares at him, then huffs a laugh. "It's okay, it was too high up~"
“That doesn’t make it okay what if-”
Akane continued to fret out loud for several minutes, so Aoi smiled sweetly and let him. The night air was cool and whisked away most of the words from Aoi’s hearing, while they continued on their nightly patrol.
For every night, you see, there were ayakashi.

How did this begin, you ask? Well—
It all began, as with all magical girl animes do, with a magical companion.
Except these mini fairies were not cute or endearing at all. Aoi did not think they were even trying.
Hers appeared as a bone-masked goatman that apparently brought death wherever he stepped. (It was just as well he never landed anywhere, and always flew with tiny wings.) Ergo, a shinigami in chibi form, asking her to be a sacrifice ahem tribute, to offer her body and soul up to wield the Powers of Life and Death aka magical girl, to help close up the portals between the boundaries of the Near and Far Shores.
Aoi of course, was suitably thrilled after the shock. Something interesting! More to life than just what was visible in this harsh reality!
And then of course, it turned out there was another magical girl — well boy in town, and within a few seconds of talking to him Aoi already knew who it was, no need to even waste several seasons of episodes dancing on the 'will they won't they find out'. It was clearly her childhood friend who also had a massive crush cough obsession with her, who she knew better than anyone, Akane.
Turned out he'd been contracted too. Except he kind of got tricked? Yikes, his companion was a jerk.
Apparently his was a hooded old man, and so that meant Akane got the option of a hood yes but he also got a spizzy new suit and an owl mask and long hair in a tail, which was all very good and did do wonders to her awkward childhood friend. Because for once he actually looked like he could give other models a run for their money.
(Aoi carefully did not think more on this train of thought.)
Another interesting note: transforming made them supernatural, and much more mature-looking. Or at least, that was what Aoi thought was what was happening, because she didn't feel that much different in her get-up. Seeing her transformed reflection, she didn't think she'd grown any taller either.
Perhaps it was just as well. She didn’t need it.
Akane of course, reassured her that she was even more beautiful, if that was possible, in her shrine maiden dress, because she was already Perfect the way she was.
Aoi smiled and took it as the compliment it was. There was no other way to take it otherwise, not with Akane.
Most annoyingly, Akane would not tell her what his wish was in exchange for becoming a magical boy. Especially since he even said he had been manipulated. Aoi had suspicions, but decided to leave it at that. Contracts were highly personal for magi, after all.
She knew she would never tell anyone what hers was.

And then Akane’s worry came true: they were seen. Not just seen, but by a boy with a telescope. In summary, Akane’s worst nightmare when it came to preserving her ‘purity’.
Staring down at wide yellow eyes gaping at them, she internally sighed. There actually was a stargazer in their area.
Two of them, in fact. There was another set of eyes peering over from the first boy’s shoulder. Twins, how cute.
Akane was fidgeting in that certain way he thought was subtle, gloved fingers inching towards his pocket where his pocket watch was. Aoi could see he was itching to just use his power and flee the scene, but—
Aoi didn’t want to do that. She shot him a look.
The second boy ran over to them, goggling at their outfits. “What’s a shrine maiden and a suit guy doing here?” He grinned toothily, holding out his hand.
The first boy continued to stare at them apprehensively. “Tsukasa…” He walked forward, tugging on his brother’s sleeve.
Besides, she didn’t think anyone was going to believe them if they told.
“They’re magi too, aren’t they?” Tsukasa said confidently.
They all froze. “Too?” Aoi echoed, Akane blinking rapidly beside her.
The other boy in front of them looked very uncomfortable for a moment, but he sighed and relented at Tsukasa’s gleeful look, after glaring at him. He reluctantly said, “I was the first one in the area.” He shot them a suspicious look. “I don’t understand — how can there be more? Who contracted with you?”

-Amane would have made a wish to protect, hence power is barriers. I like to think he made that wish to protect Nene (why? am unsure. she’s an easy target because she’s gullible?)
-imagining Aoi’s power is smth like Chat Noir’s Cataclysm. Can only revive dead things so luckily there’s the undo button
-if Nene is a magical girl, her power would be illusions.

Inbox is clear save for a rainy day starter I'm gonna do some time tomorrow.
For now, ATLA AU Phantom Thieves:
I haven't done so much with backstory and all that, but I do have the Nations for the PTs, and the plot of their current arc is uncovering the corruption in Ba Sing Se.
Akira: New Airbender (found to have the gift when his Persona awakened in the Spirit World, struggles being the only one and not having any monastic faith)
Ryuji: Earth Kingdom warrior
Ann: Firebender and Fire Nation refugee
Yusuke: Eastern Island Water Tribe Waterbender. Uses it to create art and for particularly brutal ice and cold.
Makoto: Earth Kingdom Earthbender, military academy student.
Futaba: Earthbender experimenting with metalbending, but with little success until she witnesses Toph do it. (Probably one of her lieutenants in the Metalbending Corps later on)
Haru: Northern Water Tribe noble and diplomat, hides her waterbending for protection and to heal others.
Akechi: Fire Nation prodigy and uses lightning. Currently investigating Ba Sing Se and their connection to the Spirit World to bring it down from the inside.

Mateo: So you’re saying I can teach magic that takes years to learn in just one week because the classroom would be in another dimension? Sounds a bit dubious, but it does make sense.

>We saw that the one who said that was a woman who was with the Weird Sister and a few others from their coven.
Chie: (pointing out) Hey, our friends from Sternbild are over there. We’re gonna go say hi.
Queen: Go ahead. We’ll meet a little later. We’re having our first day celebration at Joe Q’s. We’ll text you the address.

It will take some getting used to, but we’ll find a way for Kotetsu to keep working with heroes. We even took it up with Little Aurora.
Yosuke: What did she say?
We haven’t heard back from her yet. All we can do is wait.
Yu: I hope you hear from her soon. And if you ever need anything, just tell us.
You guys really are good friends to heroes.

Subaru: I thought I’d try to up my game on Hero TV. There’s nothing in the rules that says I can’t. Dragon Kid does it all the time.
Chie: We know. I can’t believe Pao-Lin didn’t come with you.
Yukiko: I also would have loved to meet Lara.

We’re not exactly on vacation. We were invited here for the festival to teach those who have same or similar powers as we do.

I doubt some of them are as strong as me. Though I do know my limits.
Still, this should be fun. We don’t get to see many worlds often. Especially ones that seem like they’re a bit ahead of us.

Hilda Spellman: Don’t worry, it’s not.
General Núñez: So, what’s the verdict for your son for kidnapping Mateo?
Félix Madrigal: Luckily, we’re letting him off with two weeks grounded. While we’re here: Teaching, dinner with the family, that’s it.
Mateo: (disappointed) I still can’t believe you kidnapped me, Camilo. Do you have any idea how worried my mother was? How worried my friends were? ... Especially Elena and Gabe? ... I thought you were my friend. One of my best students.
Camilo Madrigal: (saddened) Mateo, I’m sorry. But we knew you’d say no about teaching magick in just one week. We still remember the Gingerbread Palace Incident. This was the only way to change your mind.
Mateo: Then you should have told me about the classrooms that can stop time so I can teach it in just one week.
Doctor Strange: I’m afraid that's our fault, Master de Alva. We forgot to tell Camilo to tell about it so he could tell you.
Doctor Voodoo: We would have told you, but we sort of had our hands full at the time with a rouge sorcerer.
Aster: Was it that Mordo guy again?
Doctor Strange: (laughing) I know. He just won’t take the hint.
Prudence Blackwood: And I thought the man I once called my father was determined.
Doctor Voodoo: True. But Faustus Blackwood wanted power over Greendale. Mordo wants power over the world. Maybe even the Multiverse.
Doctor Strange: We apologize for that mishap, Master de Alva.
Mateo: Well, as long as you don’t do that again. Everyone was scared.
General Núñez: Me, especially.
Camilo: So you’ll forgive me?
Mateo: ... I’m still thinking.

Son zamanlarda engelliler bilgisayar oyunu oynarken yeni ve özlemini duydukları şeyler görüyor olabilirler.
Bilgisayar oyunu karakterlerinde çeşitliliğe duyulan ihtiyaç arttıkça, oyunlar için devir değişiyor. Kadınlar, eşcinseller, lezbiyenler ve diğer azınlık sayılan karakterlerin oyunlarda yer almasının fazlaca talep edilmesi dolayısıyla, video oyunu yapımcıları, heteroseksüel genç beyaz erkeklerin hitap etmeleri gereken tek topluluk olmadığını, özellikle de son zamanlarda oyun konsolları ve çevre birimleri engellilerin video oyun oynamasını kolaylaştıracak özellikleri bünyelerine ekledikçe, fark etmeye başladılar.

Aksiyon-macera türünde yüksek puanlı, Japonya kökenli (aslında Playstation için tasarlanan) gizlilik odaklı oyun serisi Metal Gear Solid’de ise görevi nükleer silah tesislerine sızmak ve dünyayı daha güvenli bir yer haline getirmek olan Solid Snake isimli bir asker bulunuyor.
Bu oyunun birçok devam sürümü yayınlandı ve 2009 sürümü olan Metal Gear Solid IV: The Phantom Pain’de spina bfidalı (Bkz: Spina Bfida Nedir?) bir karakter, Dr. Huey Emmerich karşımıza çıkıyor. Dr Huey Emmerich yürümenin bir yolunu bulmak konusunda adeta takıntılı ve bu takıntı onu sonunda robotlarla ilgilenmeye itiyor.

NUA Game Design Test (unfinished)
Since I’m not doing Indie Dev I just decided to do this task out of pure interest to research and getting one more reason to discuss my favourite games.
Q1
List of my 20 favourite Games:

A. From one of the gmes on your list, pick a system from that game, that you consider an example of excellence in game design. Describe the playerinteraction, the mechanics and the value the system brings to the game.
Persona 5
Persona 5 is a game that starts out well, and follows the first person life of the main Charecter, Akira or as he is referred to in the game ‘Joker.’ The game eases you in slowly, meaning that you dont expect too much at first. However, later in the game you find yourself emersed in the world of the subconscious. where you can explore peoples minds and enter their palaces. These are a reflection of their complex’s that they have in real life.
What starts out as a fairly simple, charecter based anime game, suddenly transforms into a unique fantasy adventure. Leaving the player both completely unaware of what will happen next and interested in learning more about the other players and their inner, twisted desires.
There are 2 major parts to it’s mechanics. In the world of the subconscience, you are Joker. A masked intruder and leader of the Phantom Thieves. You find yourself crawling through dungeons, fighting and beating monsters, knights and boss’s. While the other ‘real’ world that we know. He is simply living the life of a student trying to raise your relationship and character stats with people who may benefit you in certain ways. This system makes it feel as if you are living your second life- a true way of how rpg’s should work. This makes the games feel tangable to the player. As on the one hand, they might identify with the regular world ‘Akira’. Struggling to get by in class, struggling to make friends, and generally having to deal with all the issues that growing up causes. On the other hand, the player will identify with wanting a break from this monotonous reality. The idea that Akira can make it to this other world, defeat monsters, and be the leader of a powerful mind infiltration squad is something that we in this world can only dream of, I found that in playing Persona 5, this dream could be at least in some way, acted out.
B. Pick a game that you consider having deeply satisfying long term goals for player, the longer the better. Describe the mechanics in detail and provide an analysis of why it is engaging to players.
Horizon Zero Dawn
C. Pick a game that you consider good but has balance problems.Desribe and analyze a balance problem from the game and provide a solution.
Cuphead
A lot of people were very excited by the game Cuphead. The game had a very fresh, original idea of recreating old styled 2D, arcade games but made for the 21st century gamer, with better graphics and harder levels. In my opinion, it is good to be able to experience this level difficulty of the game, as it makes the game more enjoyable and satisfying when you do complete a level. However, in the same time, this requires the player to already be a high level gamer to be able to complete the levels due to the hard difficulty to proceed, would deter your regular gamer away. Moreover, there are no checkpoints within the levels, meaning if you were just about to kill the final boss after half an hour of button mashing, sweat inducing, heart pounding boss fighting, and get killed. You have to relive the entire traumatic experience over again, which even for your well seasoned gamer will be enough to permanately rage quit.
Moreover, there is a more slight issue with the charecter designs. As when you play 2 player, both players look very similar. This can be very distracting for both players and could compound to your likely rage quitting of the game.
Despite this; many enjoyed the games old fashioned, 1930′s styled aesthetic, and the inclusion of boss battles harkened back to the ‘golden age of videogames’ where for many of the older players, was a sense of nostalgia in going to the arcade to play games with their friends.
Q2. In game development it is important to try to find different ways of using game systems and assets to create different experiences for the player without needing new underlying mechanics or assets. In an action adventure game, outline several different ways to reuse a given level to provide different gameplay experiences without changing the level’s core geometry.
The earlier mentioned game persona 5 has unchangeble core geometry eversince you pass your first Palace (Dungeon). The battle consists of turn-based battle (a similar, more popular example of this would be Pokemon).
Battle actions provided by physical attacks using short and long weapons, magical attacks, ablity to use an items, guard. Most of your Enemies in the beginning of the game have their strong and weak point. If you attack your enemy with a power they are strong to, they have the power to resist. On the other hand if you hit their weakness, you will greatly damage their HP, which will knock them off and give you a +1 turn. This system works on characters in the game as well giving your enemies another chance to strike so beware of your weaknesses.
This kind of system has lots of different ways to defeat an enemy, making it hard to be easily bored, even when the majority of the core within the levels is the same.
(I reapeat I just did this test for fun) I did Concept Art Tests. Unanswered questions:
Q3. Imagine a simpla RTS game where you have 5 possible unit types, and 4 statistics that can be attached to them.
Q4.You are working on an onine open-world survival RPG and you’ve been tasked with designing the envoronmental hazzards the players must overcome. You’ve been given the following guidelines.
The game must encourage players to rely on each without guaranteeing anyone’s integrity.
The paticipatory experiences that emerge between players when interacting with your PvE systems should be the defining aspect of the game
Provide a design draft of the PvE system.

Phan Cam: A Heroic Dream Festival (Day 1) (Part 3)
Hey, hey, hey, everybody! It’s time for summer’s most loveliest sounds! Welcome to this year’s Dream Festival! This promises to be a special one as we’re doing it here at Avengers Campus in New York City! That’s right, Dream FES is making its American and international debut. Starting in Tokyo, Japan, now we’re doing overseas. To get us more in the scene, our reporter on the inside is backstage right now. Over to you, girl!
>Backstage.
That’s right, I’m here backstage of what promises to be the biggest Dream Festival yet. Not only will we have our usual Idol Units with new song just ready for you, but we’ve got all kinds of acts on the second day from locals to certain parts of the world. And let’s not forget that on the third day, we will have our usual competition to see which Unit will get a music deal and have a full album release ready in time for the Winter Holidays. Joining me here are some fellow reporters: Robbie Robertson and Robert Bauchamp.
Thank you. Arigato.
Merci. I wonder if they’ll do this next year on Luna or in Paris.
Reporter: So, what is your take on Dream FES being here in America?
Mr. Robertson: Well, it’ll be a little different. We’ve had something like this over Christmas, but to see it again here and knowing that this System will be uses in the U.S. will be promise to be something new and great.
Beauchamp: Maybe. But I can imagine some people may not be happy with the System.
Reporter: You mean, because it’s like a magical girl transformation.
Mr. Robertson: You mean with the nudity?
Beauchamp: Pretty much. But I think there will be most people who will like it. But I guess we’ll find out tonight.
Reporter: It sure seems that way. And how do you feel about knowing that on the second day, some people other than the Idol Units will be able to use the System?
Mr. Robertson: Well, I wouldn’t be surprised that some people would love to try it out. They would feel more like actual Idols and magical boys and girls.
Beauchamp: My friends are performing on the second day and they paid to use the System. I think this will be the first time they’re doing something like this.
Reporter: I hope they’ll do great. Last one, what will you be writing about this in your respected media?
Beauchamp: Well, I write for a small tabloid in Luna, but I think they would read about it and might consider using the System there. But I think they would most likely prefer the next Dream Festival to be in Paris.
Mr. Robertson: Well, I might be able to write about this in the Daily Bugle... If my boss will find some room after bashing Spider-Man.
Reporter: (laughing a bit) No doubt about it. He sure has it out. Well, back to you on stage.
>Back on stage.
MC: Thanks, girl. Now, I have a special guest of my own. A real hero... At least I think he is... Are you really a hero?
Maybe. I’m sorta banned from Avengers Campus... But I had to make my Phansite debut while I can. No matter how late it’ll be posted.
MC: (confused) Come again?
Deadpool: Oops! Almost said something that I shouldn’t have. Well, better be off... I think those damn S.H.I.E.L.D. agents spotted me. See ya!
>As quickly as he came, Deadpool vanishes.
MC: (trying to make sense of what just happened) Okay... Moving on. It looks like we’re about to begin as Haruto Mikami comes on stage with his Unit, Sankishi. Mikami has just been made the new head of D-Four Productions after its former head retired. But despite this, Mikami will still perform with Sankishi. So ladies and gentlemen, give it up for the legendary Idol Unit to come all the way here from Japan. Sankishi!
>Everyone cheered as Sankishi comes on stage.
Haruto: Hello, New York!
Susa: Here we are! Dream FES in America!
Ichika: Time to show this nation the magic that we have in store.
Haruto: But don’t think we alone will do this. We have all of our fellow Idol Units to help you see your dreams come true. We have DearDream!

Susa: We have KUROFUNE!

Haruto: And let’s not forget that on the second day, which is actually the day after tomorrow as we will need time to rest and maybe check out the campus between shows, we will have an open mike to show us what you guys have to offer.
Susa: And on the final day, we will have our competition to see which of our Units, both old and new, will get a chance to have a music deal and release an album and CD just in time for the Holidays.
Ichika: Now, let us join together and make this the most memorable Dream Festival ever.

Chloe Park: Hey, you guys!
We’re so glad the seven of you could make it.
We would have arrived sooner, but we had to finish unpacking.
Weird. I don’t think I’ve seen guys like you in the dorm.
Or even in the adults’ dorm.
That goes triple for the girls’ side.
We’re not staying at the dorms. Griff has relatives in the Bronx. They’re in Asia for a few weeks, but they said we can crash at their place while they’re away.

Panda: Not all of us. Me and my brothers are too big for Griff’s cousin’s place. But we already have some friends here in New York who are will to let us in. But where they’re staying is not place for a little girl, even if Chloe is already in college. So she’s staying with Tom and the others.
Chloe: He has a point. I’m not too keen on sleeping in sewage.
You better not let Tunnel Rat hear that. He likes exploring those sewers.
I wonder if we’ll see him again soon.
Violet: Vince said that he and the other Joes would be here before the festival ends. You’ll see him soon.
