I was possessed by the spirit of I-have-to-draw-toxic-yuri-immediately a few nights ago:
Actually finished a piece! My beloved menace of an azata nature oracle KC Dornik, and her beloved menace of a girlfoe Wenduag 🥰. Obsessed with rotating these two in my head and trying to find a way for them to work out 😛. Wendu is…not ethically unchallenging but I thrive on terrible ideas and drawing them gives me life soooooo.
A little characterisation under the cut (cw for extremely brief kink mention) .
Dornik pictured somewhere in Act 3 using teacher/student kink + flattery + sharing immediately useful information about war and magic to bribe Wenduag into listening to how her own (very different) coping mechanisms and ideas on ethical leadership work (this mostly boils down to ‘find something that makes you happy you can believe in no matter what, and be an anarchist’) while also flirting horribly, because she’s the normalest girl (nb) in the world and cannot be stopped. And also really, really wants Wenduag to be OK but you can’t just say that to her face 🥲.
Wenduag pictured just going for it because Dornik is built to be climbed like a tree and also constantly dropping hints she doesn’t want this power and would love to democratise it (for example, by saying “I hate and having so much personal power power, I wish I could democratise it more effectively”), so maybe she’ll find a way to get rid of it and then maybe there would be all that power lying around and neither of those opportunities come ‘round every day 👀. Also it’s nice to be listened to and respected and prioritised, and have your desires catered to only with actual fucking safety and aftercare, and have reliable food and comfortable shelter and good company, but those are nonsense things for weaklings unless you take them for yourself so it doesn’t mean anything right?

wahoo . tiefling be upon ye. process notes + pictures under the cut
started w a sketch and decided 2 try doing a super colorful underpainting! i was inspired by @///venomous-qwille's breakdown of one of their pieces. i stayed mainly on one layer, using some transparent textured brushes. i used some effect layers, most notably in adding the dark coloring to her face (multiply layer) and adjusting the curves in the last step. i think the underpainting pushed it to be much more saturated than i would of done otherwise, and i really enjoyed it :D

swarm in an interview with Jubilost embraces their new life
if you go angel->swarm and have managed to save Kyado he will be in Drezen. there’s no dialogue option to devour him unlike almost every other npc (shopkeepers with dialogue like Fye or One-Eyed Devil)

Yes, I think the Queen was ready to move on and be horrifically killed by a swarm of ravenous locusts.
the swarm still holds on to memory of a tender night spent in the Abyss. and also somehow to their demongraft they got there too

pf wotr thoughts (some vague spoilers)
"why am i so bad at this game, i'm usually good at strategy. WHERE ARE MY SPELLS- oh there's a spellbook i must use" (it took me 10 lvls to find the damn thing)
not enough lore info in the character creation. i know nothing about any of these countries. i wanna make my characters grounded in the world
the comabt is a bit (a lot) of a drag, even when speeding up animations, so i eventually switched to story mode
daeran is such a bitch, i love him so much. it's like he was made in a lab specifically to appeal to me. and his romance... oh boy
all of the characters are great, even those my kc didn't really get along with (though i am very biased towards my usual party: woljif, daeran, seelah, arueshalae and ember)
i checked the wiki and seelah is not romancable??? why can't i ever romance a knight lady ; - ; being a lesbian is hard
i'm enjoying the army management section way too much. outing myself as a homm player lmao
I HAVE A DRAGON and i would literally sell my soul for aivu to be safe and healthy. she's my Best Friend and my Specialest Girl.
zoiana is multiclass greenrager and druid, and it's a little annoying i only have two levels in druid because of alignment shift :/
alushinyrra was hell. i could not find my way around the city. i kept getting attacked around every corner, it lagged like crazy, and i never want to go back
hhhh i wish we were able to customise the commander's ascended appearance... zoiana's azata wings clash so much with their colour scheme. i think i'm gonna draw her with luna moth wings
"the lesbians have won :))" four acts later "the lesbians have lost :((" (in short, i gotta figure out how to keep irabeth alive so she can be with her wife and lesbians can still win in my 2nd playthrough)
areelu was such an interesting antagonist, and some of the plot twists and reveals were delicious (and worked perfectly to tie into my kc's backstory)
one more complaint: what in the fuck was wrong with nenio's quest. i almost dropped it, but i was too curious about her backstory so i was a nasty little gremlin and installed a cheat mod lmao

Made this awful no-good art for a dear friend 😊. Cami is so hinged she is so normal about everything and kind of embarrassingly fun to draw she's a very stylish serial killer ok and my friend's KC Lisette is there to match her every step of the way 🌸.
She made the worst choice possible at every point along her path, enough that she got the 'don't have to kill your romance' option when she got fully lich'd without my friend knowing that was possible 😅.

man im so excigted for bg3... i need 2 try the previous games too .
#been in a big crpg mood lately#i finished pf:km a few weeks ago i think. really enjoyed it#im playing pf:wotr now and its great#i think both games have lik.e. some pretty obvious Troubling Ideological Ideas. that probably stem from the original modules#that they're based on. and yknow the whole like base ttrpg fantasy tropes and such#but the games ARE enjoyable i gotta say. leveling up and getting new abilitties scratches an itch in my brain. as does exploration obvs#and tbh ive enojyed the writing of like. every companion. . except maybe aivu. shes a bit grating. but shes cute#cae speaks
