Here's a very tiny sneak peak of chapter 13 of Per Ardua ad Astra:
She hesitated, her hand hovering above the keys. It was all she could do that her hand didn’t tremble. She wasn't sure why she felt compelled to hide her sister's identity for now, to keep it from becoming personal. But she did. The Jedi might doubt her motivations if they knew. She couldn't let that happen, not when there was far more at stake. She could reveal the information without the personal connection. It would be easy. Her hand moved and the name disappeared, leaving the others untouched.
As a bonus, I have a pretty good idea of where I am going for the reverse Hallmark holiday challenge...solidly right into an old comfort zone of mine: big angst and emotions with some smut. I'm a bit nervous because I haven't written anything like it in years and well, It'll be the first time writing a new ship. I wanted to do happy because Christmas but nope, my brain is pushing for tears. I'm sorry in advance 💙

peggy had been taught how to fly by her father, and as such, dreamed of the skies. up there, she was free -- weightless with possibility. but in wartime, women serve as auxiliary pilots only, held back from the battlefield. and so margaret e. carter joins the war effort, but serves with the soe, putting her talents for espionage, codebreaking, and general intelligence-gathering to good use -- and it gets her on the battlefield, though she truly longs for the air.
it's not until captain america needs a ride directly into a hydra base that she reveals a secret of her own: she's a damn good pilot. luckily for them, she knows just where howard stark keeps his nearest planes, and worse -- the code to the hangar. howling commandos, ssr -- meet your air support.
super soldier variant: when steve rogers is attacked shortly after his successful physical transformation, he tosses one last vial of serum to peggy. the hydra agent before them lunges for it, but he's too late -- peggy's caught and injected it into her own veins. though the ssr might've lost their research, they'd gained two super soldiers.
years later, it's peggy in the plane, plunging to her icy grave.

she's an RAF pilot with a knack for finding herself in dangerous, odd, or otherwise unique situations: she's flown with and for organizations you've heard of (RAF, MI6, SHIELD) and perhaps some you haven't.
top gun variant: chosen as a rare british addition to the top gun program, peggy serves as a sort of metaphorical land bridge between the us and her home country, a symbol of alliance.

It's petty and one of my least popular stances, but 1) I've never subscribed to the Rogue One novelization's take on Cassian or Jyn/Cassian, and 2) I also have zero investment in anything I've heard about Andor's version of Cassian. So occasionally I see people going back and forth about Festian Cassian vs the Andor backstory, and meanwhile I feel rather like the kid banging pots and pans in the corner.

12.24.22 - per ardua ad astra - the failed chosen one and her reluctant successor
wheeee finally an actual drawing of my ocs that aren’t just notebook sketches!! and lineless too!!! been meaning to try out something lineless for a while and im thrilled with how it came out. not sold on astra’s final design (and syn’s face looks a smidge too sharp) but considering this is the first piece ive done w here in YEARS i think some self leniency can be allowed
rlly inspired by picture below bc the dresses reminded me of them in the context of how their lives are lived:
“astra” (right, her given name lost to time, allegedly) though technically covered from head to toe isn’t covered by anything substantial; see through gauze and lengths of beads (holy silver to suppress her void “curse” from taking affect on her body n self) - her personhood never really belonged to her, not even after she stepped out of the spotlight, always confined by other people’s wants. there’s nowhere to hide. drowned in and made utterly vulnerable by starlight.
tamsyn/sinead (left) is exposing xeir arm and leg, representative of xem willingly (though reluctantly) stepping back into a role in prophecy, but is otherwise hidden, secure in the comfort of the void and the knowledge xey could disappear entirely into it if needed - and also revealing scars from xeir own experience with holy silver bindings - a reminder that xey were once under others’ control, but was willful enough to have broken free and not be cowed enough to hide them ... and a reminder that xey bear a deep grudge for those that bound xem.

Full CIX Storyline Explained - Part 9
CIX's Full Storyline Explained - Masterlist
458 M/V
Title: 458 is the equivalent of ILU aka I Love you
Unlike Jungle and Numb, 458 is far less explicit with its story-elements - both in visuals and lyrics which is understandable since Dante's 7 Levels of Purgatory also offer less to work with in terms of striking visuals.
To generalize, Dante's Purgatory is set up to confront sinners with the counterparts to the Seven Deadly Sins, aka the Seven Virtues. Unlike Hell which was very much based on sinful actions, the sins here are more character-based and making it through all of Purgatory is meant to basically cleanse the soul so it can enter Heaven.
Early on in the MV, we get a glimpse of an Angel which could be Beatrice - a direct messenger from God who pops up throughout the entire Divine Comedy and serves as a direct communication link between Dante and God. Her job is basically to ensure the mission gets carried out fully and successfully.
Later on, we also get a quick shot of her whispering something in Hyunsuk's ear which could symbolize their first personal encounter as was the case near the end of Purgatory when she took over as Dante's personal guide.
In addition to Beatrice, a golden eagle also makes an appearance in the video with Jinyoung. As seen in the animated Trailer, within the story, Dante dreamed it was an eagle who carried him to the entry point of Purgatory.
As Dante's version of Purgatory is filled with angels meant to guide the sinners back onto the right track, we can find a lot of angel imagery throughout the MV
There's also a bunch of scrolling text on the LED boards seen in the back throughout the choreography-centered sections of the video - short phrases such as "The soul which is created quick to love", "l tempo non si perda per poco amor" (yet another excerpt from Canto 18 - the one about love and free will), "Per ardua ad astra" (through adversity to the stars), and so on
These can be seen more easily in the Behind the Scenes
We also get shots of Hyunsuk's bare back where we find words written along his spine - specifically the words "Ratto, ratto, che 'l tempo non si perda per poco amor" from Canto 18
Other shots show the members in red-and-white racing gear with the words "Luceat lux tua" printed across the front - "Let your light shine". This is a callback to Byounggon's line in What You Wanted and those same words can also be found on the official lightstick.
The suits are best seen in the MV Reaction video.
At another point, we find Byounggon in front of some fire again - an element that can be found within Dante's Purgatory as well nearing the end of the story when they encounter the Virtue of Chastity (quite funny when Byounggon's wearing a damn handcuff necklace in the shot).
This encounter takes place in the final ring of Purgatory meaning it's the last hurdle before they can finally enter Heaven. Within the story, Dante and his two companions have to walk through a freakishly hot wall of fire and, once they've made it to the other side, Dante has to say Goodbye to Virgil who'd accompanied him through all of Hell and Purgatory so he wouldn't have to suffer alone.
Toward the end of the MV, the overall tone shifts as we see a grayscale wide shot of a ginormous angel statue, kneeling, hunched over, and crying as water emerges from below its folded legs and falls off the edge of the cliff it's resting upon.
Now, I'm not sure what exactly this statue represents but we do have a lot of crying as Dante and crew walk through Eden, though it's mostly him who's first crying over Virgil and then when some angels show compassion toward him. However, we do also get a moment of Beatrice weeping which is likely to have inspired this shot.
As the members emerge from what I assume to be Eden, we can see more giant statues behind them - likely a representation of the Procession found in Canto 29 where a bunch of white-robed people are guided by a candelabra.
We end on a wide-shot of five statues facing the giant kneeling angel - one statue for each member.
They've survived Hell and Purgatory. Now it's time to enter Paradise.
