hi i’m back! i had to take a much needed break <3 trying to post every game when i was so behind got to me and it wasn't fun to watch anymore. because of this, i’ll only be posting special games (like when the guys play each other), record breaking games, and reslly any game i have the motivation to (like if it's chaotic and quinn/trev get penalties). i’m not pushing myself anymore i hope y'all understand🤍
and because there was a lot of tense feelings after this game for devils fans, i decided to make this post *mostly* about the millers

THE colin miller, number 24 on the devils, number 6 in my heart (his number on the stars iydk), scored not only his first goal of the season, 🚨BUT HIS SECOND GOAL, TOO🚨 pop OFF step dad!!! congrats on being third star of the game!
and OUR miller, mr. jt, ceo of shaking his head at my nonsense (he loves me), scored two goals 1 minute and 4 seconds apart!
WE GOT A MILLER DICK TRICK EVERYBODY! two from jt, and two from colin! 2 + 2 = 4!!
✨now for the accomplishments✨
my best friend, my lifeline, loser of the postgame mario kart competition, quintin jerome hughes, has best the canucks franchise record for most multi point games by a defenseman last night with his 69th (😏) game! I'M SO UNBELIEVABLY PROUD OF YOU, HUGGY BEAR! this is the second record (that isn't his own) he's broken this season, and we're not even halfway through! he also has the most points from all defenseman in the league currently! (10th overall!)
and demmer had his 100th career win tonight! we love a milestone!
and luke played, too! he was definitely there!
i’m so proud of the valiant effort and fight everyone on the ice put into the game tonight! especially colin! i love colin! go colin! i’ll be mailing jack your first goal trophy!

edit: luke is the rookie defenseman points leader and he threw a fit so i’m adding this so he'll stop being annoying. proud of you, lukey poo!

yourusername hi! the devils put in an insane amount of effort and came back from a three goal deficit at the beginning of the third. the canucks basically doubled their amount of offensive zone time and yet the devils still pushed through all their adversity and was so close in the end. you're dismissing all of the other players great work and play by claiming that just jack alone would've changed that. yeah, he probably would've made an impact, but the canucks have been in the top ten of the league all season and nico daws still held his own pretty well and stopped a good portion of their shots against a team that was top of the league for a hot second and was 5th coming into the game. every devils player played to the best of their abilities and there were some unlikely heroes, another thing you're dismissing. jack is my brother and i love him, but he is not the only player on the devils. it's a team. a team that came so close in the end with almost half of the amount of sog. don't dismiss the rest of the team. be proud of them all.

yourusername welcome back to my postgame penalty box update show: quinn finally did me a solid edition!
the first notable thing to happen in this game occurred at 7:05 in the first period— ‼️QUINN GOT A TRIPPING PENALTY‼️the second picture shows him pouting, probably because he knew i was going to be elated over this and he hates to see me happy
AND THEN a flame (ruzicka) tripped petey, which created a 4 on 4 for 1 minute and 17 seconds. nobody scored on the 4 on 4, but guess who did once quinn got out on parole? PETEY! THAT'S WHO! and milsy assisted on it! oh yeah! and quinn did, too! (his 21st assist ;))
this has made quinn have the third most career assists for a defenseman in their first 300 games! did i forget to mention that this was his 300th game? because it was!
onto the second period! quinn got hit and he fell down and hronek tried to throw hands in his honor but neither him nor the flame (pospisil) really succeeded in that, but they both got two for roughing anyways (i’d call it aggressive hugging but whatever works i guess)
then quinny baby let some agression out and slashed coleman (a flame) after he was interfered with while facing him, knocking the stick out of his hands! that's my big brother! don't take that shit! they both got a penalty, quinn's being his second (i cheered) and we had ourselves a 3 on 3 that trickled into the third!
sadly, the universe only liked me a little bit. while i was elated by quinn getting two penalties, it was a hard nuck life tonight (get it?) and we lost 5-2 :(
anyways! congratulations on having played 300 nhl games, huggy buggy! i love you way past infinity🩵

yourusername welcome back to my postgame penalty box update show: i finally saw a mason marchment fight live and quinn was also there edition!
after quinn's personal record of three trips to the penalty box night, he decided to be good! this was probably due to the fact that i will fight him over any penalty against the stars (hey, remember when you committed interference against robo on february 27th last season? because i sure do), but we'll pretend it was because he's trying to redeem himself since my baby daddy trevy-z is at zero. the war is strong with these two!
you know who did get a penalty? one of my new besties wyatt "johnny" johnston! his penalty was for holding mikheyev in the second period! (holding penalties aren't ones i hold grudges against, so you're in the clear! but also you do nothing wrong ever, so i wouldn't hold it against you anyways) (p.s. i wouldn't have been mad if you fought garly... i was kinda rooting for it)
other penalties include: (in time order) digi for holding against another new bestie harls, mr. captain jamie benn for hooking soucy which created 39 seconds of 4 on 4, craig smith for hooking friedman, and laffy taffy for hooking wyatt's dad joe pavelski all in the first, esa lindell for cross checking garly, hronek for high sticking my blonde prince roope hintz (he got reprimanded for this), and our two fighting majors between the blue eyed menace mason marchment and ian! (mason got an extra minor for unsportsmanlike behavior) (ian was reprimanded for his hit against matt "dutchy" duchene that started the fight)
my best friend, quintin, pulled a jacky boy and fell over nothing! the conversation between the stars broadcasters went like this:
razor: "he was having a moment back there!"
bogo: "he was playing billiards off the bottom of the net to himself!"
razor: "well, he wiped out first!"
needless to say, i was laughing my ass off when i rewatched this game!
special shoutout to demmer for continuing his perfect win streak against the stars and getting his second shut out of the season! i’m so proud of you @/tdemko35 ! (for those who don't know, he has a 7-0-0 record and just gave otter his first regulation loss of the season :))
quinny, i’m going to publicly say i’m sorry that otter caught every one of your shots on goal <3 and i’m proud of your 25 minutes and 23 seconds of hard work tonight! i love you way past infinity💙 keep it up, buttercup!

my boys had a major win tonight by beating the sharks 10-1! that's right! TEN TO ONE!
but what's even better than that is that QUINTIN JEROME GOT THREE PENALTIES TONIGHT! THIS IS THE FIRST TIME HE HAS DONE THIS! only four times has he had two in one game, so tonight he made his own history! that's my best friend! his penalties were for stick holding and a delay of game for shooting the puck over the glass in the second period and an interference penalty in the third!
what's even BETTER than that is that QUINN MOTHER FUCKING HUGHES TIED THE CANUCKS RECORD FOR MOST POINTS SCORED BY A DEFENSEMAN WITH 5 POINTS!! this was last done in 1995!
he assisted on brock's first goal, assisted on millsy's goal, AND SCORED HIS OWN GOAL IN THE FIRST PERIOD, and in the second, he assisted on laffy taffy and suter's goals!
quinny, i’m so unbelievably proud of you! you're doing amazing this season, and i can't wait to see what records you tie and break next! i love you way past infinity🤍

yourusername WELCOME BACK, SISSY (and hockey) FANS! my best friend, CAPTAIN QUINN HUGHES played his first preseason game tonight and he sure made an impression!
firstly, he got the third penalty of the game and first penalty for the canucks in the first period! it was for holding against hyman of the oilers, and to say i was laughing was an understatement. that was top notch comedy, bestie, thank you sm for keeping me employed
and secondly, QUINN SCORED!!! he got his first (preseason) goal as a captain, AND the first goal of the game during the second period! it was a power play goal, and leon draisaitl (he’s shown in the last pic of this post) was the criminal that made it so! shoutout to him!
i’m sorry you didn’t win, but you played a beautiful 24:10 minutes (most for the canucks, third most overall) and almost won the overtime race against leon’s boy toy, mcdavid!
and lastly, i want to address mine and quinn’s son cole! he got his second penalty of the preseason 3 minutes and 23 seconds after his father! and they both looked dead inside <3 like father, like son! (ps shoutout to petey for also getting a penalty!) (there were ten total penalties!)
you put your whole butts into this game, boys! mwah! you’ll get them next time for the season opener! i love you all!

quinn, you have not just been my best friend for fourteen years, but you’ve been my big brother for over eighteen years. you saved me from my darkest hours, and taught me how to save myself. you were the first person i ever gave a present to, and i remember freaking out to mom when she had to explain to me what birthday parties were and that people got presents for them. i picked out that captain america action figure all by myself and i still remember how happy you were. i think my love language is gift giving because of you.
i feel like i’ve been playing a game of “go fish” my whole life. i didn’t have any of the same card when i was younger. life kept telling me to “go fish,” and i kept pulling a card that didn’t help. and then i met jack, and suddenly i had a pair of kings. i quickly found luke to be the most precious thing on the planet, and he always made me smile. he was my third king.
you quickly started to treat me like your own sister. you walked me to class, and you always brought me a snack on days i didn’t have breakfast with all of you. you were the first person to ever hug me when i was crying. i didn’t have that at my house. at just five years old, i didn’t know that i could be comforted, and you showed me that i could be. that i deserved to be. you were my fourth king. you completed my first book. you were the start of me winning the game.
and now you’re 24, and i’ve got many more piles of books in my go fish game, and most of them are because of you. i am who i am because of many people, but you, quintin jerome, helped me start to find myself.

i was a crying mess this game, because my best friend in the entire world, my other half, my big brother, scored two goals tonight! (notice how i used all nice pictures because i’m so unbelievably proud of him!) (sorry meme fans) and not only that! he also had the primary assist on kuzy’s goal— giving him a three point night!
quinn has always been a star in my heart (not a dallas one but… well you get it) and tonight, he was first star for the first time as captain! needless to say, i immediately bursted into tears when the canucks posted those videos. this was 100% a scrapbook worthy game! (p.s. trevy, we need to go to michaels)
ALSO shoutout to my fav blonde princess for having a four point night! two of those points came from assists on both of quintin’s goals! thanks b.b!
quinny, i love you, and i’m so proud of you. i couldn’t have asked for a greater big brother💙

today, october 14th, not only is it the anniversary of my best friend and brother being born, but it's also the day that the canucks won against the oilers again!
last game, leon draisaitl said "it's good to get smacked around a bit." when he scored 42 seconds in, i was worried the oilers would get their revenge, but my fear was proven to be useless! we won 4-3! AND quinny got an assist on kuzy's goal! what a lovely birthday present! (mine was better, but this is a good one, too) and shoutout to hyman for quite literally carrying quinn into the glass, that was a gift for me! so kind!

yourusername welcome back to my post game penalty box update show: quinny tried his best edition!
there were a total of fourteen penalties in this game, including some misconducts for laffy taffy, but none of them belonged to quintin! way to go, best friend! (this is lie. i’m disappointed. angry, even. please crime. i’ll give you a dollar.)
what did bring me immense joy was quinn literally jumping into a scrum and proceeded to get yanked out of it via his neck! he looked quite terrified after he did it, and i was laughing my ass off at home! (also him getting knocked down) (tysm flyers for that one) (took me back to childhood) (it was great)
this game was very painful to watch, but at least no one died! and at least we're 2-1-0! the devils are not that! that's a win in my book!
i love you way past infinity, quinny💙 drop gloves next time! i'm still proud of you for jumping in though! just spice it up for me!
p.s. to my blonde king and princess— i love you both, too! i'm so proud! you're both doing so great at human-ing!

yourusername welcome to my postgame penalty box update show: connor mcgregor— i mean, quinny baby edition! tonight, the canucks ended a 133 game streak without a shutout with a 3-0 win! that streak was the longest in franchise history; and demmer ended it!
you know what else ended tonight? you guess it! quintin hughes lost his seven games without a penalty streak tonight in a fight! he got a double roughing minor, and kavtsov sat in the box for his second. personally, a five minute major would have been way more fun, but sadly, i’m not in charge. (i should be!!) he tackled blackhawk andreas athanasiou to the ground, and did NOT release him for a hot minute. AND quinn argued with him in the penalty box, and i would sell jamie to know what he was saying! those smelling salts must have triggered a really strong fight response! he was also grinning like a psychopath after (sound familiar?) and that’s why i love him <3 #TeamUnhingedQuinn
i could talk about this all day, but i do want to give some shoutouts! congrats to kravs (@/kravtsov93) for scoring his first goal as a canuck tonight! and to hirose (@/kithirosee) for getting his first nhl career point with an assist on that goal! lastly, welcome to the team cole mcward! you did great tonight! we might even adopt you! (@/colemcward) what a night for the defensemen!!!
and shoutout to quinn, for being the bestest best friend i could ask for. i love you, but i’d like to see some blood next time💙

Penalty box blurb!! Cole meeting reader and Quinn having to explain the adoption comment?
“Well if it isn’t Cole McWard!” you said grinning as you walked down the hallway of the Canucks practice arena. You were visiting Quinn in Vancouver before the end of the season to meet the newest rookie, as well as see some of your favorite people. It was Cole’s second game tonight, and you were here to watch it. Plus, you hadn’t seen Akita play, either.
“Hi!” Cole smiled, “Y/N right?”
“The one and only!” You held your arms wide open, and luckily Cole was also a hugger and took you into his arms with no problem.
“I told you she’s humble,” Quinn said sarcastically.
“Alright, what horrible things have you heard?” you asked the rook, ignoring your best friend.
Quinn swatted you on the arm at the joking accusation, “I don’t talk bad about you!”
Cole was smiling at the two of you, clearly entertained, “Everything I’ve heard is good, don’t worry.”
After catching up with everybody and going out with Petey and Quinn for a late lunch, it was time for you to get ready back at their apartment, and them to head off to the arena.
You took an uber to the arena, mainly because you didn’t want to drive Quinn’s car he left for you, all dressed and ready in your Quinn jersey.
The game was amazing. Quinn got a penalty, Cole scored not only his first NHL goal, but the opening goal of the game! Kuzy won the game in a shootout, and Quinn’s speech at the end nearly brought you to tears. He’s grown so much and you couldn’t be more proud.
That statement was wiped away the second you saw Cole in the halls outside the locker room after the game. He was so happy, and his smile grew wider when he saw you.
“Y/N!”
You held your arms open and laughed as he scurried over to hug you, “That goal was beautiful, love! You’re officially adopted!”
Cole’s head tilted at this. You mentioned “adoption” in your instagram, but it had slipped Quinn’s mind to explain it.
“Sissy, you can’t just announce to someone you just met that you’re adopting them. He doesn’t even know Jamie,” Quinn sighed as he walked up and hugged you from behind. You rotated your body in his arms to hug him back before escaping and getting behind him. Without skipping a beat, he bent down for you to hop onto his back for a piggy back ride.
“See, I was thinking we’d actually split custody of him,” you said.
Cole’s confusion deepened, “Uh… Quinn?”
“It started with my youngest brother, Luke, accidentally calling her mom when he was in middle school during the one month her and my middle brother, Jack, were dating. They ran with it, and have been joking ever since that she’s his mom and Jack is his dad.
“Then, when Luke hit college two years ago, and Y/N met his teammate Ethan, she told Jack that they were adopting him, too. Why she picked Ethan I don’t know, he’s had many other teammates over the years.”
“Why did you pick Ethan then?” Cole asked. You shrugged, “I don’t know; he just screamed my child.”
“I scream your child?” Cole asked, slightly laughing.
“It’s a high honor,” you nodded. “Go, Quintin.”
“Skip to last year when her and Jamie Drysdale got closer. Her and Jack divorced is what they call it, and her and Jamie got married. The weirdoes have silicone rings and everything.” You held up your ring finger and grinned at this. “They decided to adopt Trevor Zegras, who, by the way, is her boyfriend of five years, just to add to the crazy that is my life. Z hates it, but we all think he kind of enjoys the gag.”
“Is that it?” Cole asked.
“I don’t know, maybe?” Quinn breathed out a laugh.
“Seamus Casey is up for discussion, but he’s not officially a Devil yet.”
“Right, of course. And Luke says something about an application?”
“That’s mostly a joke, but there is a contract.”
“Z signed a contract?”
“He was held at scissor point.”
“You threatened your boyfriend with scissors?” Cole asked.
“That’s not what I said,” you stated.
Quinn laughed at that. Quinn made sure he mentioned everything about your “adoptions” and Cole ended up finding it very amusing.
“Sooooo,” you grinned at him. “What do you say? Care to have the highest honor of being mine and Quinn’s first child?”
Cole asked about Jamie, and Quinn raised that question after Cole asked it, to which you explained that this would be a split custody adoption so you weren’t cheating on Jamie. Cole faked relief, “Well… as long as you’re not cheating on my… step dad?”
“Don’t get her started on that,” Quinn interjected. Cole laughed and held his hands up, “Alright! Sorry, sorry. I’d be happy to be your and Hughesy’s son!”
