for the fictive, how do you feel about the smb fandom and people's interpretation of the fictional you?
i don't know that much about fictives and did in general, i apologise if this question is offensive-
Oh, don't worry about it! It's not offensive at all!
Sorry it took so long for me to answer, I haven't had much time on Tumblr recently~
Honestly? I don't really care! (I mean that in a nice way). I'm not my source, so people can do whatever they want! I've been in the system for a couple of years, and I've managed to develop and somewhat "source separate" outside of "Princess Peach" and Super Mario in general. Which is why normally I go by Peach or Toadstool in real life! I still enjoy my source material and show some traits of "Princess Peach" and have some memories from my source, but I understand that she is fictional and I am not. I'm an alter/fictive/introject in a system and I am real.
Sorry, I didn't mean for this to get so lengthy! Basically, to answer your question, fandoms can do whatever they want! I've met wonderful Super Mario Bros. fans who understand the difference between the fictional Princess Peach and me, Peach, the fictive.
Unfortunately I have also met other types of fans who don't seem able to separate fictives from the source and often ask intrusive and offensive questions and have generally mistreated me and the two other fictives in the system. However, you haven't asked that kind of question, Anon, don't worry!
I hope this helped your understanding!
(Also, I should mention that we don't have DID, we have OSDD)
