I'm playing a fan-made remaster of Zelda 2 and I REALLY like it. Temples are different. Some backtracking involved for heart containers and magic potions (Much like in later zelda games). The world is a lot more fleshed out too.

today I played as marina and got farther than ever before.. necromancy is definitely the strat. I killed the priest and the woodsman, I learned how to cut off enemy heads and exchange them for soul stones, I even killed karin (sorry...). I was going to kill henryk too but then he was gonna make food and I was like no surely he'll be useful... but that was a mistake because it's better to kill him while he's still a weak human and not the mayor. oh I went into tunnel 7 where I saw tanaka get beheaded by needles in previous runs (very scary. I'm not afraid of clowns but this one sucks) and this time neither tanaka nor needles were present... idk... abella wasn't there but I think that's because I helped henryk. it's so hard to find the other contestants around to actually recruit them I swear. OH AND I SAW AUGUST GETTING INTO THE GATE LOCKED WITH TWO PADLOCKS BUT IDK HOW I COULD EVEN INTERFACE WITH THAT. I got the sewer keys and met my end at the hands (?) of a neighbour in there. I was so baffled the whole time at how strong marina + a squad full of ghouls is. and I liked the feeling of progress and overcoming barriers I thought were unbeatable before. and the feeling of being strong in combat was also satisfying. that being said I think I'm done playing for a while. too scary, I can't do it 😭

Speaking of insane things in hindsight btw can y'all believe I was 100% ready to cold turkey quit this game once horse progression was gonna drop back in February and now in July I'm currently more into the game than I've been since like 2020

Last week, while we were trying to repair my broken laptop, I got locked out of my hard drive, and there is no way for me to unlock it.

Here's a list of casualties the incident:

The ren'py files for both Ite! It's Jellyfish Love! and jELLYFISH hATE!

Additionally, all the assets for the spinoff game are gone. Pretty much everything I've done for jELLYFISH hATE is gone

The original medibang files for all official art I've done for the game (luckily I've posted much of the art elsewhere so it won't be too much of an issue)

The twinery planning file I've done for the game

I won't be giving up on Ite! It's Jellyfish Love, as I believe that society (me) desperately needs an outlet to date/befriend/hang out with cute jellyfish, but this is quite a major setback. So, yeah.

(Also, I will be cancelling jELLYFISH hATE!. Unfortunately much of the plot of that game was made with improvisation and I do not have the heart to recreate that much content from memory. Perhaps I'll come back to it one day, maybe after Jellyfish Love is finished, but I wouldn't hope for it)

Like I think what frustrates me about most games is either they’re so easy I don’t feel rewarded by playing them or I get frustrated the first time I get stuck, so games where frustration and anxiety are the intended experience but still superficially ‘reward’ you for completing a task kind of push the right buttons
