i have seen way too many horrible takes lately so... "Hamas is a terrorist organization" and "Celebrating the deaths of innocent civilians (both Isrealis and Palestinians mind you!) is fucking shitty" and "The Israel-Palestine conflict is a war of genocide by the Israel government/military" and "Zionist is not the same as Jewish" and "The war does not justify antisemitism" are all statements and opinions that CAN and SHOULD co-exist. EDIT: Just to clear any potential confusion. I am *very* anti-zionist. And as such, I do *not* want this post being used to spread zionist rhetoric.

What is Jewish Voice for peace?
Who Are Anti-Zionist Jewish Protestors? In recent times, there has been a growing movement of anti-Zionist Jewish protestors who aim to voice their discontent with the Israeli government’s policies towards Palestine. These individuals, often associated with organizations like Jewish Voice for Peace, are passionate activists who are critical of Zionism, the ideology behind the establishment and…

You'r eunder no obligation to reply but I'd like to ask, how do you keep your head up these days considering the genocide? It's been nearly five months now, my entire family is giving up the stirke and falling into propoganda, and every time i think "surely this is the end, no way the us will keep supporting this, israel is on limited time" i keep seeing no end in my twitter feed to the countless losses, i keep seeing gore and childrens butchered on my tiktok. i dont wanna lose hope or faith but ive started feeling so depressed these days that i dont even wanna open my social media because i know what ill see. it might sound selfish but i hope i can open up my tiktok and see silly little people doing trends again instead of seeing one between 6 posts asking to use filters so that they can donate and detailing the necessities that israel banned from palestine and it just feels so soul crushing and hopeless. it makes me feel worse because if im tired of it then how do palestanians cope being in it? if you have any tips or good news id be grateful
hi anon. A lot of what Palestinians report first-hand is graphic, and horrifying, and would contribute to that soul-crushing feeling. But they are so tenacious, they have so much love for their people, their country. Often, Bisan or Motaz or Plestia when she was still in Gaza will share little slices of joy from displaced Palestinians. It reinvigorates me, and I'll often return to watch them when things seem dire.
A baby in Gaza, blessedly unaware of the horrors. Look at that smile!
A Palestinian mother makes donuts for her children, and offers Bisan one as she prepares for an interview. She (the mother) talks about how she makes treats like this to try to cheer up her children, how she keeps herself busy like this so she can't feel the grief of the situation. It is expensive to buy firewood these days, and flour. At her side, her children chip away at a block of wood to help her.
if you'd like to support people like this family, donate to CareforGaza, which directly distributes supplies and money to families in need. They have stopped donations to their Gofundme campaign due to overwhelming support, but you can still donate via the paypal link in their bio.
Young Palestinians parkour in the ruins of Gaza, to show that Israeli bombing will not kill their spirits.
Mo, a Palestinian man, buys cat food after searching for two days straight, and feeds the stray cats in Gaza.
Palestinian children at a refugee camp filming a cute video.
Although they've lost their home, a Palestinian family gather to celebrate their youngest child's birthday, complete with a small cake and a birthday hat.
Bisan makes bread in Khan Younis.
Palestinians celebrate the birthday of an injured girl in hospital, with a small cake. One of them has dressed up as a clown.
After losing 22 members of his family and being injured in a bombardment, a Palestinian man named Mohammed Al Ghandour marries his fiance in a tent.
A Palestinian journalist plays with a baby who survived an airstrike.
@/nisreendiary on TikTok documents the process of making fresh bread in a tent in a calming video.
I got most of these off twitter, from this thread. Twitter is a hellscape at the best of times, but the easy communication it provides is a blessing. I'll try to share more of the good news here, as they pop up. In the future, I recommend you follow Eye on Palestine, or Al Jazeera if you'd like to stay informed on the situation in Gaza with minimal scrolling.

I haven't been out in public much due to taking a year off from school and not being able to work. I've been watching the news around the i/p conflict from indoors and have admittedly been reluctant to look at my states numbers.
Tumblr media
So, i finally decided to take a look at the ADL's H.E.A.T. Map and uh...
Florida's had a huge rise in white supremacist propaganda and antisemetic hate crimes since the start of 2023. I figured there would be, since the backlash against the global jewry has been particularly volatile both on and offline. But i hadn't checked the local numbers until now.
Tumblr media
We are one of the few states into the 100+ range and that's particularly horrifying. If we look into the specific numbers, we have:
123 antisemitic incidents, with a majority being vandalism and harassment. A number of these incidents occurred with white supremacist movement (propaganda being spread as well as gatherings).
I know everyone's probably exhausted. But i just want to point out some of the hotspots: Orlando (17 incidents), West Palm Beach (10), Boca Raton (7), Fort Lauderdale (4), and Miami (6).
Thankfully, my city has not had any, and I hope that remains.
I don't know enough about the conflict to say anything more than this: I want jews and palestanians to be safe. I want them to have an ability to govern themselves and not be infringed upon or attacked. I don't want more people to die, on either side.
And, it is not "decolonization" to suggest that an entire civilian population be destroyed for the wrongdoings of their government.
We can call for the dismantling of Israel's government all we want, but THIS here only proves what others have said: the diaspora is too unsafe. This is what is used to reinforce the notion that Israel is necessary at all costs.
We cannot call for deconstruction without being willing to address the rampant white supremacy and antisemitism throughout the US and most of Europe. We can't keep kicking jews out of their homes.
You can't support a free Palestine then use antisemitism as a bludgeon, and expect that to somehow save them.
Focus more on combating antisemitism in your area and generating support for Palestinian relief.
Check out: Palestine Red Crescent Society to support Gaza, especially in providing medical relief.

hey, i dont support israeli but i was wondering why? I live in the uk and i don't really get the jist of whats happening
well its a long story & this has been happening for decades. palestina has been occupied by israel for yeaaaars. the israeli have been bombing palestina and basically have carried out (are still carrying out) a genocide against its people. there has not been a day that palestinian ppl have known peace due to the israeli occupation the past few decades. thousands of innocent palestinian civilians have lost their lives due to the israeli government.
& worst thing is that the media hasn’t paid attention at all to these inhuman acts until the palestinian ppl decide to stand up for themselves again after decades of oppression, so they (a group called hamas) fired back attacks on israel two or three days ago and did quite the damage.
now, all of a sudden, all (western) media have come to defend israel and are paying attention mainly / only to the deaths that’ve fallen on the israeli side. literally almost every western country supports israel in this when THEY have been oppressing and killing, murdering, raping innocent palestanian ppl and have taken PALESTINIAN LAND by FORCE for so long. even celebrities are supporting that zionist country.
anyways its so long that i can’t rlly explain it fully. i don’t recommend anyone to learn about this matter from the news / whatever mainstream media yall have on ur TV, because they are all portraying palestina as the bad guy and israel as the big victim. i’ve seen @/spideyyeet on tumblr reblog a lot of correct things abt whats going on, so for further info go there i say

On a daily basis, much of the world stands silent while Zionists, Israeli butchers, murder Palestinian civilians, with a particular focus on children and youth. The over 2 million Palestinians living in Gaza effectively live in an open air prison without any rights, freedom of movement, or control of their lives, and are denied self-determination. Crying “enough is enough,” A coalition of Palestinian resistance groups, courageously carried out a well coordinated offensive against their oppressors. In response, Israel has declared war against the Palestinian people, labeling them terrorists and claiming the attack to be unprovoked. But the fact of the matter is, Israel declared war on Palestine in 1948 when over 750,000 Palestanians were forcibly expelled from their ancestral lands . In recent times, Israel has exponentially increased their violence and dispossession of the Palestinian people. The present response is simply an act of organized resistance to decades of Israeli aggression. It is an attempt to end Israel’s inhumane persecution of the Palestinian people– a crime against humanity.
Without provocation, Israeli settlers routinely raid and attack Palestinian villages, killing and injuring people, burning and destroying Palestinian homes, cars, shops and farms, killing livestock, and cutting down olive trees, a key element in the Palestinian economy. Israel keeps a “knee on the neck” of every Palestinian man, woman, or child, making life unbearable for them. Israel’s goal is to force the Palestinians off of their own land, sending them into exile in other countries, as Israel builds new settlements, further expanding their illegal occupation. These perpetrators are never held accountable. On the contrary, they are rewarded with increased access to stolen land. Not only do the powerful Western imperialist nations refuse to challenge Israel’s crimes, they support them, declaring that Israel “has a right to defend itself,” or labeling any criticism of Israeli policies as “anti-semitic” or “supporting terrorism.” The United States government picks-up much of the cost. Israel has been one of the top US aid recipients for decades, most recently receiving pledges of more than 38 billion US dollars over a 10 year period, plus additional funding for missiles.
The All-African People’s Revolutionary Party unequivocally condemns the 75 years of Israeli settler colonialism. As we have consistently pointed out, Zionism is racism. These same Zionist forces train the police and military in Africa and around the world to repress dissent by oppressed and exploited people. Israel is also a guarantor of imperialist access to Africa’s vast material resources. We stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and their legitimate national aspirations. We uncompromisingly support their inalienable right to self-determination and freedom in their independent State of Palestine.

Middle East Conflict – Israel and Palestine
1979, three months before I graduated from the Gymnasium, I sat in our classroom in boarding school during our daily homework time and started writing an essay that would cause some controversy between the nuns and our worldly teachers. I wrote about the Middle East conflict. Some thought I was wrong, others thought I was […]Middle East Conflict – Israel and Palestine

A 6 year-old KID stabbed *26 times* to death in Illionis for being Palestanian .................. thanks to CNN!!!!
The authorities in suburban Chicago accused a man of fatally stabbing a 6-year-old boy on Saturday and seriously wounding the boy’s mother because they were Muslim, an attack that officials tied to the violence in Israel and Gaza.
The killing in Illinois alarmed Muslim leaders, who called on American politicians and journalists to more fully reflect the humanity of Palestinian people as they address the conflict overseas.
“This was directly connected to dehumanizing of Palestinians,” said Abdelnasser Rashid, a Democratic Illinois state representative who is Palestinian American.
Investigators in Will County, Ill., southwest of Chicago, described a gory scene. They said a 71-year-old landlord turned on the boy and his mother, who were his tenants, at their home in Plainfield Township on Saturday morning, stabbing them repeatedly with a serrated knife that had a seven-inch blade.

The boy, identified as Wadea Al-Fayoume by a family member and the Council on American-Islamic Relations, was stabbed 26 times and pronounced dead at a hospital, according to the sheriff’s office. The boy’s mother, 32, was in serious condition with more than a dozen stab wounds, officials said. Officials said she ran into a bathroom and continued fighting off the attacker as she dialed 911. Relatives said the family is Palestinian American.
The Will County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement on Sunday that “detectives were able to determine that both victims in this brutal attack were targeted by the suspect due to them being Muslim and the ongoing Middle Eastern conflict involving Hamas and the Israelis.” The statement did not specify how investigators knew the motive, but said they had conducted interviews and reviewed other evidence.
The man accused in the attack, Joseph M. Czuba, 71, was being held on charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, two counts of a hate crime and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
Mr. Czuba was scheduled to make an initial court appearance in Will County on Monday, according to online records. It was not clear whether he had hired a lawyer.
