System Reboot; Part Two
Image description below
Page one: The background of the page shows a branching, tree-like structure with a red point just below the first split in the branches. Three small panels are set over the background, accompanied by text. The first shows a young woman with purple hair laying down on a table, her eyes closed, wires attached to her temples. The text reads, “We’ve isolated the linear source of the infection.” The second panel shows a battle between a Pachirisu and a Salamence with the words “Training simulation #2014″ overlaying it. The text reads, “A paradox in 1050 BT. Class A - serious nonlinear intervention must have caused it.” The final panel shows a man in glasses working on repairing the wires of a hexagonal pedestal. The text reads, “And sometimes, you need to fight fire with fire.”
Page two: The young woman with purple hair now stands on the hexagonal panel, her arms crossed and eyes still closed. The panel ‘dissolves’ and becomes glitched further down the page, showing fragments against a black background. Nearer the bottom, a panel of an open eye with a blue iris and a pupil ringed in yellow is also broken up and glitched.
Page three: At the center of the page, against a black background, is a star with the same glitched effect.
Page four: The top of the page showed fragmented, glitched pieces of a hand and several other objects of the panel below. The panel shows the young woman sitting up in a bed, bracing herself with one arm and reaching up with the other. On the wall behind her, a poster with three Pokeballs can be seen, much like the one in the player’s room in Scarlet and Violet.

✿ Starter for @gummywyrmtrainer ✿
✿*❀*✿
A screech of protest rang out throughout the school and suddenly a small pachirisu was sprinting through the halls and out the nearest window. Following close on its heels was Saguaro with a bottle in hand and Goodra just ahead calling out entreaties to the fleeing pokemon. Normally he would never be seen in such a state by anyone, and normally he had himself well together, but today was a special case, and he paid no one any mind besides the pachirisu that had just disappeared out the window.
Pachirisu was... Very sick. It wasn't a serious illness, however. Simple enough to heal with rest and medicine, and Saguaro knew for a fact there wasn't even much need to bother the nurse for something like this. But the problem here was that Pachirisu hated medicine of almost any kind. Potions, proteins, medicinal herbs, you name it. Bitter concoctions were to Pachirisu what spicy food was to Saguaro, and getting her to take her medicine was always a challenge.
Today Goodra had been helping by trying to soothe and constrain Pachirisu, but she had slipped with surprising ease from her grasp and shot like a bolt out of the classroom. And this was how they had ended up sprinting breathless after the little thing right out of the academy and down the steps into the streets of Mesagoza.
"Please, Pachirisu, stop!" Saguaro called out between hard-earned breaths. "You are in no condition to be running like this!"
The rodent ignored him entirely, and it bounced its way up a streetlamp to hang out of reach. Saguaro stopped at the base of it call her down, reaching his hand up as far as he could stretch it to grab ahold of her.
"Sweetheart, you are making this so much harder than it has to be," he called up to her. "You feel awful right now, I can see it in your face. Please come down so that I ca--gaadh...!"
He was cut short as the pokemon attacked, sending an electric current down to her trainer. She hadn't meant for it to be so strong, to the point where he froze for several seconds jittering from the impact, but feeling as under the weather as she was she'd lost perspective of how much she was putting into it. Now feeling guilty on top of her petulance, Pachirisu jumped down again from the other side and found a dark-haired stranger to slip behind the leg of and hide.
Even if Saguaro hadn't quite recovered, Goodra had continued to chase her and was now standing in front of the stranger as well, cooing to Pachirisu and holding her hands out in front of her to try to coax her back out.

Alright, I’m gonna post some various takes of various temperatures, all categorized. If you have something to say about them, I’d really appreciate you sending me an ask. I have zero problem with clarifying any of these.
Fire Emblem:
Most, if not all people who believe that Edelgard did nothing wrong and is heroic on all routes are antisemitic.
What Fire Emblem needs most of all right now is for its next original main game to have a “back to basics” approach.
Three Houses’ approach to classes should not become the new normal. Same goes for how magic works in that game.
Three Houses is a terrible entry point into Fire Emblem for new fans. It’s a good game, it just fails as an entry point.
Like it or not, Edelgard is a bigot.
Dimitri isn’t some dumbass fence-sitter. For fuck’s sake, he implements a constitutional monarchy in his solo ending on AM.
The Friendship and Marriage Seals in Fates were a genius idea.
Phoenix Mode was... fine, I guess? I mean, it’s entirely optional, so there’s that.
Danganronpa:
Hiyoko is a fucking child.
Yasuke is an abusive piece of shit and Junko was wholly justified in killing him.
Chihiro is transfem.
In the context of V3, Shuichi works better as a protagonist than Kaede due to the theme of Truth vs. Lies rather than Hope vs. Despair.
Flags:
The pride flag variant with the black, brown, and trans pride triangle is an awful design. Nothing wrong with its message, it’s just that the design itself fucking sucks.
The California state flag is fucking awful.
New Mexico has the best US state flag.
If Mississippi removed the “In G-d We Trust” from its state flag and instead had a complete ring of stars, it would probably be a top five US state flag.
The fact that Alaska’s state flag was designed by someone who was seven years old at the time is one of the main reasons why Alaska’s flag is as good as it is.
Indianapolis has a top five US city flag.
Lettering on flags is consistently a bad idea.
Pokémon:
Pokémon Black 3 and White 3 would be more appealing than Black and White remakes.
The VGC scene benefitted significantly from Dexit.
It makes sense that GameFreak tends to show favoritism towards VGC players over Smogon players, simply because VGC is the official competitive format while Smogon isn’t.
GameFreak has completely stopped giving a fuck about not causing too much powercreep.
Pachirisu winning Worlds in 2014 wasn’t a show of how you can “always win with your favorites” and to not care about a metagame, instead just making a “creative” team. Sejun Park picked Pachirisu to support his Mega Gyarados, which was frankly a more offbeat choice (that still made sense given the metagame), because Pachirisu was the Pokemon that was best equipped to support Mega Gyarados given the metagame.
A “creative” VGC team isn’t just slapping six random Pokémon and calling it a day. Creativity can also come in the form of movesets, EV spreads, etc.
Incineroar and Regieleki are more unhealthy for VGC than Landorus-T, and it isn’t even close.
Miscellaneous:
Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle is one of the best Switch games out there.
Dimentio > Fawful.
An all-winners season of Big Brother is an awful idea, simply due to the amount of winners that would actually come back.
Steve was easily the second-best player in BB17, and from the Final Six onwards, beats everyone other than Vanessa in a Final Two.
Survivor is not fake. [REDACTED] fell into a fucking fire (I feel bad for the fire for having to touch [REDACTED]). Russell Swan was collapsing and unconscious from dehydration. Caleb Reynolds nearly died from heat stroke.

The Uncrowned King (Final Rose x Pokemon)
Thunder Bat is many things, but he is not stupid.
He was weak once. And for that weakness, his trainer abandoned him when he was but a Pichu. He survived on the streets, eking out a precarious living in the back alleys and dumpsters of a city he would prefer to forget.
Those had been hard times.
But they had made him strong.
And then the professor had come.
He’d been a Pikachu by then, scarred and wounded, but unbowed and never broken. He had prided himself on that. No matter how bad things had gotten, he had never given up. He had kept fighting. His trainer had called him weak and useless. Thunder Bat wanted to live, so one day he could prove him wrong.
The professor had taken him in, had seen something in him beside the jaded street rat and the angry rodent. She had given him a home, and she had treated him not as a mere pokemon, but as a member of her family. And when he had asked her why, her reply had been simple.
“I know that look in your eyes. Before I met my sister, I had that same look in my eyes too.”
Thunder Bat had thrived, but he had learned that even in his new life, trouble was never far. People had attacked the professor and tried to steal her research. She had fought them off, but Thunder Bat had understood that if he wanted to keep his new life, then he would have to fight for it.
So he trained.
And when the professor brought in more Pichus, Pikachus, and Raichus, he trained them too.
The years went by, and he never stopped training. Even when he evolved into a Raichu, he continued to hone his body and his skills. The professor’s family grew. She had a wife and children. Thunder Bat realised that he needed to grow stronger, so he could protect all of them... these precious people that had given him everything he could have dreamed of and more. They were his family, and Thunder Bat would never abandon his family.
And he succeeded.
Years went by, and whenever a threat emerged, Thunder Bat and the Hit Squad were able to deal with it. It even got easier over the years. The enemies he fought seemed so slow and so weak. Those days of struggling just to survive were far beyond him. Now, it was his enemies he fought tooth and claw just to hold him back a few seconds more.
Had he become strong?
He had.
Somehow, over the years, he had become strong.
He realised it in earnest when one of the pokemon accompanying a visitor to the professor gave him a nickname.
The Uncrowned King.
Why?
Because other pokemon believed that Thunder Bat was strong enough that he could have been part of a championship team if he had wanted. He snorted. Who cared about things like that? His place was with the professor and her family. He would protect all of them. He didn’t care about titles or awards of any of that. If he could keep his family safe, then he was content.
Besides, he liked using his bat, and apparently, he wouldn’t be able to use it if he fought in an official battle.
X     X     X
Author’s Notes
Thunder Bat is much like Lumina’s Blissey. He is powerful enough that he would fit right into one of Lightning’s championship teams. The top three most powerful rodents in this AU end up being Pachirisu (the Murder Squirrel), Thunder Bat, and Ash’s Pikachu with Zap (Raichu) being close behind.
Thunder Bat is the most physically powerful Raichu in the world. He is also exceptionally good at creating magnetic fields using his electricity, which allows him to do insane stuff with his bat. Although he can’t use ice moves like Pachirisu, he can use water moves. However, it’s his overwhelmingly powerful physical attacks that make him so deadly. For example, his Iron Tail can split buildings apart, and his Wild Charge is like getting hit by a freight train made of electricity.
While it’s true that both Pachirisu and Pikachu are faster than Thunder Bat, if he was to land a single clean hit (especially with his bat), the fight would likely be over. Both Pachirisu and Pikachu would be forced to rely on their speed to evade while trying to whittle him down.

The Masterpost
This Story is Currently Suspended. I may get back to it, I may not. Who knows
This blog is running to write a story out of posts. Said story follows its writer Reed Maple as he returns to the Pokémon region Almia, about six years after the events of the DS game Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia. Something about the region is off, and he’s going to figure out what and stop it before his beloved region gets hurt.
Here’s the plot of the original game.
Story Alterations
Reed (player character) was on exchange to Almia, and was staying for the year with his family. Mom and Dad (the characters) just prefer to be called that, while Little Sister (also the character) used that as an excited pen name. Her real name is Tory.
Once earned, the Tears of Princes gems were stored inside of the person who earned them. How? I don’t know, just magic. Why? Because that’s what the animation looked like to me. Why is this important? Mainly because, once in there, the person glows the color of that gem. Pencil-thin streaks of light come off their skin and they give off an aura of that light. This does not stop after the gem is removed, and never really goes away after, although time away from Almia and the gems will make it eventually fade until it’s barely noticeable, unless a gem comes close, the person gets extremely emotional, or the person wishes it to do that.
After the main plot ends, the gems are all returned to their respective guardians, with Darkrai guarding the Dark Stone. The gem guardians agree to a collection and cleansing of the Dark Stone every five years.
The main plot takes about six months from beginning to end. The remainder of Reed’s time there was spent cleaning up the damage and finding work for the team Dim Sun grunts that were now out of a job.
Reed left to go back to school after a year. He brought Pachirisu with him. He had no other partner Pokémon.
Kieth returned to Fiore a year after Reed left for school. Currently, he is still there.
Professor Hastings died in his sleep three years after Reed left
Other Exposition
Reed and Devon were roommates going through college. Reed studies Pokémon behavior, while Devon is a marine biologist.
Reed wrote his doctoral thesis on zoroark mimicry behaviors. During that time in Unova, he befriended an oshawott, who became his second partner, and later evolved into Dewott.
Reed’s college was almost exclusively based on “trainer-regions”, while the first time Reed ever actually visited one of these trainer-regions was to go to college. He prefers the ranger-regions style of doing things.
The Main Characters (and writing colors)
Reed Maple (Default/White)
An impulsive, happy-go-lucky scientist who is passionate about pretty much everything. Is mute and doesn’t seem to have a sleep schedule. Mostly kept in check by his partner pokémon, Pachirisu and Dewott. He/they
Devon Kelp (Orange)
A very passionate, but practical-minded and significantly more serious scientist. Easily frustrated, but usually that just makes her more determined to find a solution. Partner Pokémon are Skrelp and Quagsire. She/her unless noted otherwise
Tory (Green)
Reed’s little sister, a very excited and hotheaded teenager who wants to become a Pokémon trainer as soon as the region is opened to it. Found a “hat ghost” kricketot that became the family pet when Reed was on exchange, and is now by her side as her partner. She/her
Ceri (Red)
The family’s newest exchange student, a semiverbal teenager from Unova. They studied to be a ranger and are now stationed in Vientown to stay close to home, as they can’t handle the communal-style bedding the ranger stations use, but do not yet have any partner Pokémon. They/them
Author notes are in blue and tagged as #author’s notes
Plot Tags
There’s a main plot and a few subplots, tagged accordingly (hopefully). The tags will go in chronological order for the story so far, but as Tumblr does, the posts themselves will be reverse-chronological, so heads-up there.

Bede catching s/o in the middle of a breakdown bc she feels like she failed people, bc like I just had a breakdown and I need comfort 😔✌️
Bede held on tightly to the modest paper bag filled with dinner for the night, dessert included that his Mawile was holding with her small arms. He balanced the bag with one hand and his hip as he searched through his pocket for the key to the home the two of you shared. Pressing the key into the small designated hole in the door he gave it a quick turn and unlocked the door.
Him and his Pokemon entered cheerfully, happy to be out of the slowly dropping temperature outside. He sat the food on the table and took the smaller bag from Mawile with an appreciative head pat and laid it next to the bigger one.
“Y/N! We’re home!” The blond called out into the house, looking around for any sign of your presence in the house.
He checked in the kitchen, by now you usually were busily preparing both of your Pokemon’s dinner. Normally you were happily chopping up different kinds of berries to add to the mix of food you prepared for everyone. But the familiar cutting board was setting neatly on the dish rack, and the knife was still snuggled into the knife block, unused.
Bede’s Mawile chirped to him, tugging on his pants leg. ”Maw! Maw!” She pointed to the bathroom down the hallway whose light could be seen from underneath the door.
The boy gave a hum of approval and made his way down the hallway. He reached out his lightly closed fist to tap on the door when he heard a soft whimper emitting from the room.
His eyebrows furrowed as he leaned his ear against the door to listen more closely. The muffled cries no higher than that of a baby Pachirisu continued to come from the bathroom.
The fairy type leader gently pushed the door open with him palm, doing his best not to spook you, but also not quickly enough to make you flinch.
The door made a soft squeak and your e/c eyes immediately turned towards your lover. “Bede…?” You asked after a short sniffle. You were sitting on top of the side of the bathtub, your eyes red and sore looking.
Bede said nothing as his Mawile tapped her way over to you and rubbed against your leg while wrapping her shorter arms around it. He followed his Pokemon and sat next to you on the tub.
“I’m sorry… I just…” You started.
Bede quietly placed his hand on the small of your back and leaned into you. “Tell me what happened. What’s got you like this?”
You felt yourself lean into him, placing your head on his shoulder. You didn’t even have to think about it, your body itself was so comforted with Bede. “I just feel..” you paused and gave another sniff, trying to get your voice to not sound so nasally. “I feel like I’m failing.”
The blond lifted his head from it’s place on top of yours and peered down at you. “Failing? At what?”
You gave a sigh, bunching together the fabric of your shirt between your fingers. “I don’t know… life? People?” your face began to scrunch up, warm tears filling your eyes. “You?”
Bede immediately placed both his hands on your shoulders and forced you to look at him. “Why would you ever feel like you’re failing the people around you?” His face formed a large; and rare, sad expression. “Why would you ever feel like you’re failing me? Is it something that I’ve said?” He asked and scanned your face for a reply. “I know that I can have a sharp tongue, but I would never mean to make you feel as if you’ve failed me.”
Your eyes grew as big as full moons and you shook your head vigorously. “Bede, no no no!” You replied quickly. “You’ve said nothing to make me feel this way!”
“But if I haven’t then…?” He asked you and you deflated, your hands on Mawile’s head.
“Hun, it’s me. It’s all me.” You pulled away for a moment and hugged yourself.
“I’m so… hard on myself. I’m not as talented and amazing at my job as you are. I can’t bring out the inner strength in Pokemon like you can. I can’t provide an entertaining experience of theatre like Miss Opal can. Whatever I do just seems so…trivial in comparison.”
You felt a couple tears fall down your cheeks and you wiped at them. “I do my best to make sure not to give the reporters or media anything that could be used to ruin your reputation that you’ve worked so hard to build. I do my best to make sure that our Pokemon and us have the tastiest meals to eat, they’re taken care of, etc.”
Bede listened silently, his hand on your shoulder, the other on your thigh, letting you speak your troubles.
“Why don’t I ever feel like it’s enough?” you finally said and stared at anything except him, feeling very much exposed and vulnerable. “Like I’m not enough?”
Bede placed both hands on both sides of your cheeks and cradled your face in them. “You worry about people who don’t matter, and their opinions far too much my dear. And you don’t give yourself enough credit for all that you do.”
You blinked and stared at him before he continued.
“The only people’s opinions that matter, is your own. And the people that love you.” He added and leaned in to press a soft kiss to your lips, rubbing his thumbs against your cheeks as he did so.
“Me and Miss Opal love you so much, Y/N. Your family and friends love you as well.” He chuckled. “But not as much as me.”
You laughed lightly and gave him a light punch on his thigh. “You’re so you, Bede.”
He gave a hum on approval and gave you a second kiss, longer this time. When he finally pulled away, he wrapped you into a warm embrace. “We are our harshest critic, Y/N. But, that voice is never constructive. Anything that your mind has told you, about how you’re a failure, you’re not enough? It’s lying to you. Period.” He gave a squeeze. “You are everything that I have ever wanted, and you are everything that I want to be and better myself by.”
You felt like a boulder had been lifted from your body. “Thank you Bede.” You petted Mawile softly.
“And you too, Millie.”

okay im gonna post this right before i go to bed because i havent posted new stuff in a while and its like AHH but okay so here is the first of the unfinshied/unedited things ive written, and the first of the two lets say..... niche aus i have.....very niche and very exposing of how much of a loser i am!!
i mentioned this one a few times and before everything got bad in the world i had so many ideas but here yall go here is my beloved davenzi pokemon au i hope all you other losers enjoy
(also please excuse all the brackets i write things out of order but always need to make notes of what happens in between)
Matteo pushed the door open, still rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, and let out a loud yawn as he stretched an arm over his head. He raised the glass of Pinap juice to his mouth and took a sip, smiling around the rim as he looked out at the large meadow behind his house.
The berry trees were growing tall around the perimeter of the fence, patches of grass at various lengths sprouting out of the ground. The large pond off to the side had its own waterfall, a feature his mother was extremely proud of, and he could admit that it added a little something special to the space
It wasn’t much, but they  did what they could with what they had. It was enough for the Pokémon they cared for, at least.
At that thought, he felt something tugging at his pants, and he glanced down and smiled at the Vulpix at his feet. Its teeth were caught in the fabric but he reached down to pat it on the head anyway, knowing that was just its way of greeting him. It let go and stood next to him, like it was expecting something.
“What do you want?” he asked, poking it lightly in the side with his foot, and laughed when it rolled onto its back and latched onto it with its paw, and tried to secure its hold with the leg that was missing one. Matteo got it off easy and it sprung back up, ready to play.
He rolled his eyes, and walked further out into the meadow, the Vulpix trotting along happily beside him. There were a few Pokémon that he needed to check on before breakfast for himself or the rest of the Pokémon roaming around the property, and he wanted to get it done fast because the Tauros with the bandage over its eye was snorting at him from over in its usual corner. He quickened his pace.
He was looking for the Luvdisc that his mother had found a few days before, alone and hungry in shallow water, and his eyes scanned over the mostly clear water, trying to catch any sign of the pink water-type swimming around. He saw it just as it darted around a Buizel and behind a rock, seeming to be in much better shape than the day before. He was about to turn and head to the small shed in the back where they kept some of the Pokémon in more serious condition, but he looked up when he heard the door slide open, and his mom call his name.
“Matteo, Jonas is here to say bye!” She yelled out, and he turned and started making his way back.
“I didn’t get to look at the Pachirisu yet.” He said, jogging up to her. She was smiling softly at him, her long brown hair pulled back in a bandana. She was holding a bowl in her arms, no doubt the breakfast she had been making for the Pokémon when he had come downstairs that morning
“Don’t worry about that, go see your friend, and wish him luck!” she said, walking out the back door, “He’s going to battle his next gym leader!”
“Yeah, yeah,” Matteo muttered as he walked past her, setting his glass down as he went.
He found Jonas by the front door, six Pokéballs attached to his waist, and a large bag on his back. He had his Jigglypuff out of its ball by his side, and it started bouncing when Matteo got closer.
“Hey, Luigi!” Jonas exclaimed, pulling him in for a hug, and Matteo squeezed his arms around his backpack. The hug was bittersweet, and he almost didn’t want to let go. He didn’t have many friends in his little town, and his responsibilities at the Pokémon Sanctuary made it difficult to go too far.
“You feeling ready?” Matteo asked, knowing what Jonas was going to say. He had always been confident, and was getting through the gyms at a rapid pace.
“Of course, bro,” he said, grinning and punching Matteo in the arm, “I feel ready to battle anyone after beating that ghost-type gym leader. That was rough, it took me four fucking tries!”
Matteo nodded as Jonas went off. Matteo had heard the stories many times, not just from Jonas, but similar ones from other trainers in his town; the gym leader that happened to be the closest to them also happened to be one of the toughest. His Pokémon were strong, he was strong, but most importantly his connection to each of them was strong. He was admired, envied, and heavily respected.
Nobody knew anything about him, though.
The gym was off deep in the woods, off of one of the random routes running through their town. It was not only hard to find, but hard to navigate, as once one entered it was quite clear that the house was designed to keep people out. There were traps and dead ends and looping hallways that all just led back to the beginning, and Jonas said it took him hours to even find the staircase that led to the gym leader.
“I should be heading off if I want to get to the city before it’s dark,” Jonas said, and extended his arms for another hug. Matteo squeezed him again, and said his own goodbye before Jonas ruffled his hair and went out the door, the Jigglypuff following close behind. Matteo let out a sigh, and walked back through his house.
“Matteo, can you come here a second?” he heard his mother call from the kitchen, and he sighed again and poked his head into the room.
“Yeah, mama?” He asked, itching to get back outside. He had been making progress with the skittish Ponyta that hid whenever anyone else came near it, and he had been wanting to see if it would eat out of his hand that morning.
“You seem sad,” she said, and he stopped himself from rolling his eyes and walked further into the kitchen as she continued, “you’re not usually sad when Jonas or your other friends go off to battle.”
“Yeah, well, I’m going to miss him,” he said, knowing that wasn’t all, “last time he left he didn’t come back for a month. And I haven’t seen Abdi or Carlos in longer than that, and I don’t even know where Amira is right now.”
His mother nodded. She had heard him say that before, note that as the reason he was upset anytime the idea of gyms or badges or battling was brought up. She walked over to him and put a hand on his cheek, and smiled gently.
“You know, if you want to take a break from this and train,  you can.”
Matteo closed his eyes. It was something she had offered before, and he knew that there was almost no way he would be willing to take her up on it. The sanctuary was too important to him, no matter how much he might’ve wanted a party of his own. He didn’t need his own Pokémon when there were dozens that needed him right at home.
“I’m not going to stop helping you here, mama,” Matteo responded as usual, “this is more important than winning a few gym badges.”
“You wouldn’t even have to stop if you don’t want to,” she said, patting him on the cheek and moving back over to the stove where she was cooking their breakfast, “if you want to do both, find some Pokémon from the sanctuary. I’m sure some of them would be more than happy to battle with you.”
Matteo laughed sarcastically, and then actually thought about what his mother said, and his mouth drew into a line. He didn’t know if he wanted to put that burden on any of the Pokémon that they were caring for, even though he knew in the back of his head that some would be willing and able. He thought about that little Vulpix that would follow behind him and nip at his heels, and the Butterfree that would always swoop over his head and chirp happily at him, and even the Tauros with the eyepatch liked him as long as he was fed.
“I don’t know,” he settled on, and then turned to the door, “I’m going to check on the rest.”
****
Later that night, Matteo was sitting out on the roof outside of his room, after climbing through the window. It looked out over the entire sanctuary, but it was too dark for him to see much. He could see some small ripples in the water in the pond, but beyond that the only thing he could make out were sounds. He could hear something, probably a Rattata or Sandshrew, scratching and digging around the grass, and the melodic chirps of a Kricketot. He heard the same Noctowl as before cooing quietly in one of the trees, and he closed his eyes as a breeze blew by.
They were the sounds he had grown up with. Matteo was raised out in the sanctuary more than he was inside his own home. His mother and father had opened it soon after getting married, had built it into something highly respected in their community. They had a large staff working with them and they would get multiple calls each day from people finding injured Pokémon out in the wild.
There were photo albums full of him as an infant being stared at by a confused Pikachu, being (very carefully) held by a Kangaskhan, laughing as a Ledyba flew overhead. Once he was old enough he started working alongside his parents, and everyone in town loved the Florenzi’s, the couple that would save wild Pokémon with their wild son by their side.
When Matteo was around twelve, things went a little sour. His dad started talking more about battling, and gyms, and how cool it would be to go out and see the world beyond their small town. He tried to convince Matteo that they could go off and battle together, father and son, and when Matteo refused, his father had gone quiet. A few days later, he came down for breakfast to his mother crying, his father’s stuff gone, and six of the Pokémon from the sanctuary missing as well.
He took a deep pull from the joint in his mouth, remembering the fierce promise he had made to himself that morning; he would never, ever, leave his mother like his father did. Battling and gym badges weren’t worth it.
But there was something in the back of Matteo’s head that was starting to get louder as he sat there. Something saying that just going to one gym wouldn’t be the same; he could work at the sanctuary during the day, train with (willing) Pokémon at night, and in a few weeks make the short trip to the ghost-type gym. He wasn’t expecting that he’d win, no matter what gym he went to, but the desire for something more was unfortunately undeniable. Matteo hated what his father did, but could understand the urge to run away.
He stubbed the joint out and took one more look at the sanctuary before going back inside and getting ready for bed. As he climbed under the covers, he realized he made up his mind. His first task for the morning, alongside his usual morning chores, was to see which Pokémon wanted to, and were able to, battle.
****
[Matteo makes a party and its kind of a mishmash of misfits but it’s the best he can do because he doesn't want to go out and catch wild Pokémon especially when he has some that want to battle with him]
[He spends a few weeks training and it's really tough and they aren’t amazing but they're better than he expected, and he doesn't really get why they love him and listen to him the way they do]
[One day he decided that he's ready and he promises his mom that he's gonna be back that night and he goes off to find the ghost type gym]
[He finds the gym and it looks completely abandoned and he has to climb over a gate to get in but he does it and then he has to walk through this super creepy dark place and he's having a rough time and he's getting more and more scared and worried that he's in the wrong place and that what he's doing is a bad idea and that he should just turn around when-]
And then finally, a staircase.
Matteo saw it at the end of the hall and sighed in relief. He was exhausted, glad that his Pokémon were in their Pokéballs so they weren’t as tired as him. He wiped the sweat off of his brow, and then tied his bandana around his head to keep his hair out of his face as he walked towards the stairs. He placed his foot on the first one and winced at the loud creak that came from it. He walked up the stairs carefully, seeing a door as he got closer to the top.
He finally reached the top of the stairway, and his shoulders dropped when he saw the door. There was a board across it, blocking it off, and Matteo felt anger start to bubble up inside him. He had spent hours trying to find the fucking place, had banked on Jonas mentioning a staircase, and had gotten so hopeful when he saw it. He huffed and, like a child, kicked hard at the door. His jaw dropped when it swung open.
He carefully made his way inside, his eyes scanning around the large room, too dark for him to make anything out. There seemed to be a fog making it even harder to see, and he waved his arm in front of him to see if he could clear it away. He took a few steps, and then a few more, and was about to take another when he heard a quiet, “I’d stop there if I were you.”
Matteo’s head snapped up and he froze, unable to tell where the sudden voice came from. He could feel his breathing pick up, and he could even hear it in the silence that followed the voice, and was about to turn and bolt when he heard, also quiet but with a bit of a laugh under it, “I didn’t mean to scare you, I just didn’t want you to fall in.”
Matteo whipped his head around, trying to figure out what he was about to fall in, when it seemed like the fog seemed to thin. He looked around the room as details became clearer, the blueish-green tiles on the walls and the white, chipped paint, and he looked down at his feet and stumbled back a few steps; he was standing right at the edge of what seemed to be a huge, empty, swimming pool.
Well, almost empty. As the fog cleared, Matteo could make out a figure on the other side, who seemed to be sitting on the edge, their feet dangling into the empty space below. He watched the figure kick off the edge and land with a quiet sound a few feet below in the pool itself, and then they started coming closer.
Matteo felt himself get nervous. Not scared, like he had been initially getting to the building, and wandering around in the dark, and when he had first come into the room and seen the fog. He was nervous, because there was no way that this person wasn’t the gym leader, which meant that he was about to battle a gym leader.
“Are you going to come down here?” The voice asked again, definitely coming from the approaching gym leader.
Matteo took a breath before looking around and spotting a ladder that led down into the pool. He made his way over on shaky legs and got himself down as carefully as he could, landing hard on his feet and stumbling a little. He righted himself just as he heard the gym leader stop, and he took another deep breath before looking up.
And he huffed out that breath, because the man standing in front of him had to be a dream, or maybe there was a Pokémon there that had some kind of power that was making him hallucinate, because there was no other explanation for how he was so beautiful. And Matteo knew that he shouldn’t have been focusing on that, but he was only human, and he was very, very gay.
“You’re quiet,” the gym leader said, crossing his arms over his chest and smiling, “you are here to battle, right?”
“Yes, I am,” Matteo said quickly, grabbing a hand around one of the Pokéballs around his waist, “my first one.”
He wanted to slap a hand over his face for saying that. He didn’t think that was good information to tell the person that he was about to battle if he wanted to seem confident, not that that wasn’t already out the window with his obvious panic. He watched the gym leader smile bright, and he wished it didn’t make his stomach jolt the way it did.
“Aw, you chose me to be your first?” he asked, placing a hand over his heart, “I’m honored.”
Matteo smiled. He was funny at least, even if he was going to beat Matteo and his Pokémon within six rounds probably.
“Mostly just out of convenience, this is the gym closest to me.” he explained, not really knowing how much he was supposed to be talking. He had no idea what he was doing, at all, but the gym leader didn’t seem to be rushing anything along.
“That makes sense, I’m not usually the first gym people come to. I don’t know why that is, though,” he stepped back and threw his arms out, “I try to make it nice, you know?”
Matteo snorted, “Yeah, that fence you have to hop to get in is really welcoming, and the board across the door really makes me feel at home.”
The gym leader laughed, and Matteo let himself laugh with him, losing a bit of the nerves he had coming in.
“Well, I’m glad you like it,” he said, and then grabbed a Pokéball seemingly out of thin air, threw it up and then as he caught it turned to Matteo and asked, “so, are you ready for your first battle? I’ll go easy on you.”
He said it was a slightly patronizing grin, so Matteo grabbed his own Pokéball in his hand, tilted his head with a sweet smile and said, “Don’t worry, you don’t have to.”
David looked happily surprised and nodded, and before Matteo could react he threw the Pokéball into the air, and a Mimikyu landed on the ground in front of him. Matteo looked at it in shock.
“You have a Mimikyu?” he asked, wanting to get closer to look. The Pokémon was looking at him, or at least the disguise part was, gently flopping around on top of the Pokémon it was concealing inside.
“Yeah, it was one of my first,” the gym leader said with a small smile, and then shook himself out of it and grinned cocikly, “which means it’s one of my strongest.”
Matteo nodded, and threw his own Pokéball into the air, Vulpix springing onto the ground in front of him. It looked ready, stanced and nose pointed at the Mimikyu in front of it. The battle started when the gym leader called out his first move.
And Matteo lost. Badly, and quickly, and if he wasn’t so worried about getting home so he could tend to his Pokémon he would've been more embarrassed. He dropped to his knees next to his Sandshrew as it trembled on the ground from the last attack laid on it by the gym leader’s second Pokémon.
“That was pretty good for a first try,” he heard echo through the room, and he looked up and pushed his sweaty hair out of his eyes.
“It wasn’t good. I wasn’t meant to be a trainer, and these Pokémon weren’t meant to battle. I should just give up.” He sighed, and held the Pokéball out so the Sandshrew could return to it and rest. He got up and dusted himself off, and saw the gym leader standing much closer than he had been.
“It’s not that you weren’t good, you just weren’t ready. You have a connection to these guys. I can see it.” the gym leader said earnestly, reaching his hand out.
“That doesn’t mean they should be battling,” he sighed, “they’re all from the sanctuary me and my mom have. I shouldn’t have made them do this.”
“You weren’t making them do anything,” the gym leader said quickly, “seriously, you can tell they’re enjoying it because they’re doing it with you. I’ve been a gym leader for a while, you should trust me on this. I know Pokémon.”
“Well, so do I,” Matteo said with an angry huff, making his mind up again, “and I’m done battling.”
He turned, ignoring the disappointed look on the face of the gym leader, and climbed up the ladder before hurrying home.
****
[Matteo really doesnt think hes gonna go back but the pokemon were having fun and he kinda wants to see david again so he starts training again, gets a bit stronger and goes back]
He found it easier the second time, and made his way through it easier the second time too, as if he actually remembered the way through the crazy maze inside. When he got to the top of the stairs and saw the boarded up door again he snorted, and took a deep breath before pushing his way into the room again.
He was greeted by the same thick fog, the same tiles around the walls, the same chipping paint, but he knew to not take too many steps in. He figured the gym leader knew he came in, as the fog started clearing again once he was in the room, and he saw the same figure seated in the same spot on the edge of the pool.
“Oh, the boy from the Pokémon sanctuary!” the gym leader called out as he jumped down onto the pool tiles, “I’ve been expecting you.”
Matteo laughed and said, “I didn’t think I was coming back, how could you have been expecting me?”
“I could see it in your eyes,” the gym leader took a few steps closer, “you want to win. Or you want to prove something. No matter what it is, you have a reason to be here.”
Matteo smiled before making his way down the ladder and into the pool. His feet hit the tiles and he turned around so he could the gym leader, who he was getting very tired of only referring to as ‘the gym leader’.
“What’s your name?” he asked quickly, before he could think better of it, “Like, I know your whole thing is being mysterious but I have a feeling I’m going to be coming back here again.”
“Oh, so we’re already on a first name basis?” the gym leader asked, spinning around and a few steps towards the wall he had been sitting on, and he leaned his back against it, smiling.
“I just figured it’ll save us time later. Easier to do it now than in a month when it’ll be awkward.” He shrugged, offering a half smile. He tried to play it off as a joke, but he wanted to know.
He watched the gym leader smile, and then bite his lip and look down at the floor. He tapped his foot on the ground a few times before kicking off the wall and saying, “Okay, then. I’m David.”
Matteo smiled, nodded, quietly responded, “I’m Matteo,” and took a Pokéball off of his belt.

To Be The Best Me
Here it is, that thing I was talking about earlier.
If you think of a cool title let me know. yeaahhh I thought of something but I’m still open to suggestions if you have one.
Chapter 1
~~~
Izumi looks at the paper in her hands. It was addressed to her father, but he’s been gone for years and her mother didn’t want to deal with it, so the responsibility of clearing things up fell to Izumi.
She looks out the window of the plane. She’s headed to the Veludo region. She stayed there with her dad a little when she was younger. It has a strong focus on the arts and has many different environments, so it has a lot of different pokemon.
Pokemon.
Her dad ran a school of sorts for pokemon trainers. That’s where she’s headed. His old school.
She probably could have sent a letter herself. She could have stayed home. But something compelled her to go in person.
The plane lands and everyone slowly shuffles off. Izumi grabs her pokeball belt out of the overhead bin and puts it back on. She didn’t want to put her pokemon in her luggage and wearing it the entire time would hurt.
After grabbing her bags she goes to the listed address. Mankai, it’s called.
When she finds the building, there are two men standing outside and a large backhoe. One man has messy brown hair. He’s wearing a green suit with patches and round glasses. The second man is blond with a black coat and rectangular glasses.
“No! Please! I just need a little more time!”
“You’ve had plenty of time.”
Izumi starts to slowly back away.
“Hey!” Shit. The messy haired man spotted her.
She walks over, showing him the letter. “I’m here by proxy for my father.”
“You are? Could you help?”
“With what?”
“The school!”
“There isn’t going to be a school anymore.” The blond man says. “Sakoda.”
The backhoe moves towards the building.
“Wait what’s happening?”
“This guy has a debt and the price to pay it off is the property.”
A dozen thoughts flow through her mind, one of which being that this isn’t even technically his property.
“Wait,” She speaks without thinking. “Couldn’t he pay in money?” She feels kinda stupid.
“It is an option, but he can’t afford it. That’s why we’re tearing the place down.”
“How much?”
He hands her a slip of paper. Jesus.
“How about a new deal?” She begs herself to stop talking.
“What’s the deal?”
“Give it just a little more time and I’ll have a full functioning school and your money.” Stop.
“You’re gonna help?” The messy haired man asks gratefully.
“Against my better judgment,” She mutters. “Yes.”
The blond man thinks it over. Izumi wonders how he’s gonna off her.
“Okay.” He says calmly. “You have ten months.” He turns back to the backhoe. “Sakoda, we’re leaving.”
“You’re the boss, boss!” The man leaves and the backhoe slowly backs away. After some time the backhoe disappears over the horizon.
“Thank you thank you thank you!” The man shouts.
“Yeah, don’t… don’t mention it.” She reaches out her hand. “I’m Izumi Tachibana.”
“Isuke Matsukawa.”
“Alright, let’s see the school.”
Inside the building Izumi finds what seems typical of a school. Desks, a teacher desk, a white board, shelves with books and such, just general classroom things. An odd thing she notices is that there is only one student.
“Hello!” He greets cheerily. “I’m Sakuya.”
“Hi.”
“Are you the teacher that Mr. Matsukawa was talking about?”
She’s not. In fact she’s not even licensed to teach. But they don’t need to know that.
“I’m assuming he told you about my father?”
“Yeah, probably.”
“But I am here to help!” She goes over to the teacher desk. “So what do you know already?” The good thing about having one student is that she could tailor the lessons specifically to help him. Unfortunately if she wants to run a proper school she’s gonna need to adjust it a little.
“Well there are a lot of types and some types are weak to some and strong against others, and that when pokemon get stronger they can evolve. Some have certain conditions to it like special items or trading.”
“Great! Now could you show me your pokemon?”
“I don’t have a pokemon.”
“You don’t have a pokemon.” She repeats. “Alright first lesson will be about catching pokemon.”
His face lights up. “Really?”
“Yeah, it’s kinda hard to be a pokemon trainer without any pokemon.”
They walk out to a nearby wild area and Izumi grabs her pokeballs from her belt. She also grabs an empty one from her bag and tosses it to Sakuya.
“Alright, typically you fight the pokemon to weaken it and throw a pokeball to catch it. You can catch it without fighting but it’s a little difficult.”
“How am I gonna weaken it without a pokemon?”
“Well you could use a stick if you really wanted to.” He looks so upset. “It was a joke. No, I’m going to weaken it for you to teach you how to battle.” She sends out her pokemon. A spinda and pachirisu.
“Cool!” He squats down to look at them.
“Eh… not really, but I love them.” She pats spinda on the head before she falls over.
They pause when they hear rustling in the bushes. Sakuya stands up and Izumi picks up spinda. Out of the bushes pops an eevee.
“Woah.” Sakuya admires it. He pauses. “It looks paler than other eevees I’ve seen.”
“It's shiny.”
“What’s that mean?”
“It’s purely cosmetic. Some look for them for aesthetic, others because it’s rare. It really doesn’t mean much, sometimes you can’t even tell unless you look close.”
The eevee drops into a fighting stance.
“Go on! Pachirisu!”
He jumps in front of her, electricity sparking from his fur.
“Let’s start this with status moves. Alright, use growl!”
He lets out a deep, low growl, staring daggers into his opponent.
“Growl lowers the target’s attack.”
The eevee runs round the area, kicking up dirt. The wind picks up and blows the sand towards the pachirisu.
“That's a sand attack,” She explains. “It lowers accuracy. Now for physical attacks. Use spark!”
The electricity in the pachirisu’s fur builds and he jumps up, using his tail to hit it. The electricity sparks and the eevee falls back some.
The eevee runs and tackles pachirisu, knocking him over a little.
“Alright Sakuya, now it’s your turn.”
He nods and throws the pokeball, hitting the eevee. It goes in, and the ball shakes some before going still. The ball lets out a little click.
“I did it?”
“Good job!”
“I did it!” He excitedly grabs the ball.
“Alright, now that you have a pokemon and some field experience, let’s head back in.” Izumi reaches down and pachirisu runs up her arm onto her shoulder.
“Can I let him out?”
“Yeah, if you want to. Just make sure he doesn’t hurt anyone or breaks anything.”
He lets out the eevee. He looks over him a little before smiling and jumping into his arms.
“Thank you, Ms. Tachibana!”
“Yeah, don’t worry about it.”
This person blocked me within hours on Twitter, and all I did was ‘like’ anything with a gallade in it. My guess is they didn’t like one of my political posts. That’s always what it is. Never mind though because I can just either go on Instagram or use a sock puppet account to see what I want. I dont gaf about anybody’s sensitivities or idiosyncrasies; I just want to post my Tomax/Xamot on the side blog or Gallade/Gardevoir fan art.
Crazy thing is after the fact, I found out she (or he. Maybe he’s a Mags Visaggio wannabe into making women chars with mental illness hairdo, idk..) was doing art for a contest where you had to get voted on to progress to the next round. They had made it to the second round by the time I ‘liked’ their work. For sure, I wanted them to make it to the third round so I could see more mega gallade art, (even if it was a dead-eyed deeply unhappy gallade who prob feels enslaved against his will and who tried to kill her at least once) but I wasn’t going to vote on them after being BLOCKED. I didn’t vote against them either, just didn’t bother at all. They ended up losing by a margin of 67% to 33%. Not that my one vote would have made a difference, but I don’t know if they’re blocking people right and left.
It’s like the comic guy on Youtube stresses over and over....one shouldn’t alienate potential fans/customers for political reasons. They look talented enough to do legit comics, and banning members of ones base isn’t helpful. Also, most artists are happy to have people share their work, but this person has ‘do not redistribute’ all over everything. That wouldn’t stop me from posting to my collection here on Tumblr. It’s like they always say...if you want to go professional, then it’s best to not share online at all. Anybody can cap your work and do whatever they want, which is why there is so much theft on Pinterest. Giving credit is a courtesy, but there’s nothing they can do about it legally.
Give that gallade a hug, Izu! One can tell from his expression he feels like a pos for losing against a squirrel (pachirisu). -And where’s his beautiful cape? To be a jokester playing Isle of Armor, I’d have my guy use close combat on a bunneary or greedent. He’d do a happy hop, and it would say something like ‘Gallade landed an extra critical hit hoping for your approval’. I’d be like, “YEAH CHAMP! BEAT UP THAT CUTE FUZZY BUNNY! PUNCH THAT ADORABLE FLUFFY TAIL SQUIRREL RIGHT IN THE FACE!!” *shakes fist* Really though...those squirrels are no joke.
I had this random idea of making a list of Starter Pokemon (old and new) for a potential Mystery Dungeon game (the idea was inspired by @toomanyotpslove for saying that she ships one of the Gen 8 Pokemon with Eevee).
Including the Japan-exclusive WiiWare games, there have been 42 different Pokemon that have served as Playable Pokemon. Without them, that’s a total of 31. In Explorers of Sky, two of the Pokemon who were previous Main Character options from Time & Darkness (Meowth & Munchlax) became Partner-Exclusive. I plan to re-include some Pokemon as Partner-Exclusives in this case. Among those Playable Pokemon are baby Pokemon (Riolu; Pichu; Elekid; Togepi; Azurill; Munchlax; Wynaut), only 2 of which were Playable outside of the WiiWare games (Riolu & Munchlax). For convenience, Riolu is the only Baby Pokemon I’m keeping (since he’s been more of a staple compared to the others, with Munchlax being the closest to another Baby staple due to its first-game cameo), leaving us at 36 old Starters.
I’ll be bringing back one WiiWare-Exclusive Pokemon for each version (Wooper for Stormy Adventure by default due to the other two being babies; Growlithe for Blazing Adventure; Mareep for Light Adventure). However, out of the two Normal Types of Blazing, I’ll be keeping Buneary as a Partner-Exclusive to keep Gen 2 from over-saturating. This removes Teddiursa and Pachirisu, bringing the Pokemon count down to 34. Since gen 1 has the most previous starters in the series (Eleven, with Gen 2 having a close second at Ten; 10 compared to 4 if you exclude the WiiWare games), I’ll be omitting two of the Gen 1 Pokemon in an attempt to balance it out. I’ll be removing the Pokemon that haven’t been starters since the first game (Machop; Psyduck; Cubone. Besides, Meowth & Skitty are now counterparts). This totals at 31 Pokemon.
Among the remaining Starter Pokemon, I’m going to make the Normal Types that aren’t Eevee Partner-Exclusive: Skitty; Meowth; Buneary. I’ll go back to them once I fully refine my list and add three more exclusives. We are now at 28 Main Character Pokemon.
Since Gens 1, 2 and 4 have more than four Starter Pokemon available, those Gens get no new Starters. To start things off, we will be obviously adding the Starters of Gens 7 & 8, bringing us to a total of 34 Main Character Pokemon.
To make things more balanced, I decided that I will add one more Water Type and 2 Grass Types to compliment the Fire Type Vulpix and Growlithe. For the former, I’m adding, oddly enough, Spheal as a Starter. For the latter, I’m adding Skiddo for some more Gen 6 representation & Shroomish, making 37 Mains.
The next three I’m adding are due to a combination of popularity and fitting an already recurring animal theme (foxes and dogs). I will add more Gen 5 Rep. with Zorua, Gen 7 will have Rockruff, and Gen 8 will have Yamper (the Pokemon toomanyotpslove ships with Eevee). We are now at a total of 40 Mains.
.........And because these two are babey, I’m adding Mudbray and Joltik. That’s 42 Total Main Character Pokemon.
In addition to the aforementioned three Partner-Exclusives, I’ll also add three more: Minccino; Espurr; and Wooloo. All 6 of the Partner-Exclusives can be paired up with any one of a set of seven Main Character Pokemon. To have space, I’ll link a spreadsheet here: https://derekfoxwit.tumblr.com/post/190218912268/customized-mystery-dungeon-roster-update
That’s what my list of starters would look for a potential Mystery Dungeon game.
To everyone: what would your Pokemon teams be and why?
Oh good god.
Tumblr media
Well… this is going to get complicated. At least from me.
Tumblr media
Let’s start with assuming no legendary Pokemon. Makes life a bit easier. Of course only a bit.
So… first off a lot of this depends on generation and limit. If you’re asking for a full team that I would have with rotations and stuff, we’re looking at… probably close to 10 full teams of 6, maybe even more.
In my defense, I’m a major Pokemon fan and I really really like a lot of them.
Of course, if we’re going to cut down the team to a more manageable six which can be from any region/gen, but only one from each region/gen to keep things interesting and varied… well, it would depend on a lot of things, including mood and such, so if one were to ask me this question again it would likely change. But, here would be, as I feel right now, the team I would use if I was limited to only six, one per region/gen.
1: Lucario. I’ve been a fan of this guy for so so long, ever since it was first introduced. I loved Lucario and the mystery of Mew as a kid (still kinda do). The whole concept behind aura is amazing. One’s spiritual energy/life force/ soul being utilized in combat? Being able to sense others and see without seeing? So awesome. Lucario is just SO. FREAKING. COOL. It’s design is wonderful as well. Jackel/Anubis? Yes please. Plus, I’ve been maining Lucario in Smash Bros. ever since Brawl. You better believe it’s making my team.
2: Tyranitar. Is it probably the weakest pseudo legendary when it comes to typing? Yes. Do I care? No. Tyranitar is BA. First, it’s one of the only two pseudo’s to not be a dragon. Yes, 8 regions, 9 pseudo’s, and only 2 are not dragons. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some dragons. But… variety would be nice, you know? But yeah, not a dragon, still awesome. It’s Godzilla for crying out loud! Plus, its design is just so good. It’s simple but perfect. It’s a giant Lizard creature that could fell mountains. It doesn’t need to be complicated, and is perfectly awe-inspiring and terrifying without being complicated. I also used a Tyranitar in my Ultra Sun playthrough, a male one named Typhon, Man was he fun to use.
3: Golisopod. Listen, if a Pokemon is good enough for YOUR BOI GUZMA to use it on his team, you know it’s a good pokemon. It’s the Alola take on Gyarados and Milotic (weak pathetic first stage with few moves  and while those two do have a slightly higher BST, that ain’t enough to keep my boy Golisopod down. Golisopod’s design is just so good. An Isopod mixed with a Samurai? Sign me right up thank you. It mixes the creepy crawly aesthetic of the bug type with the strong proud samurai perfectly and I love it. And yeah, sure Emergency Exit can be kind of annoying, but it allows you a second usage of First Impression. That is worth it. Also, it’s shiny is dope.
4: Toxtricity. Part of building a team means keeping in mind type composition. I love Grimmsnarl dearly and equally, if not more so, but I already have one Dark-type on the team, so Toxtricity manages to bag this spot. At least, for now considering my current mood. Ask me again tomorrow, or even in an hour, my answer may very well change. Anyway, Toxtricity itself. When I fist saw the design, I wasn’t entirely sure how I felt. It was… interesting to say the least, but I couldn’t figure out what I was looking at, or what it was supposed to be. But after some more time with it, learning more about it and using one I can say that Toxtricity is easily one of my new favorites. Quite possibly my absolute fave from Gen 8. A punk lizard that plays music? Rock/Metal? HECK. YES. The form change is also pretty nice. The stats don’t change between the two, but I honestly like it that way. Just the idea that more energetic natures would have an ‘Amped Up’ form based on an electric guitar while the more mellow natures would have a ‘Lowkey’ one based on a bass is ingenious. Same with the movepool changes. It makes sense that the different forms with their different music preference would have different moves. (My personal fave is the Amped Up, especially with its shiny colors.) Plus, an electric posion type? SO. COOL. Who cares about 4x weak to earthquake, this thing is boss! And Punk Rock is an amazing ability.
5: Flygon. Man oh man was Flygon treated poorly. Added in Gen 3 as a solid pokemon, but with a better attack stat than a special attack one. True, not bad in it of itself but before the Special/Physical split, ALL Dragon-type moves were special. Meaning Dragon Claw, a solid dragon type move back in Gen 3, wasn’t yet a physical move. And Outrage wasn’t even something Flygon could learn yet (it wouldn’t be until Gen 7 that it became a TM). Then came gen 4. Now, I love gen 4. I truly do. It is by far my favorite Gen. And it did do something very good for Flygon. It gave the special/physical split, allowing some Dragon type moves to now be physical as well. But you know what else came along? Garchomp. Honestly, I like Garchomp, I do. But suddenly here we are with a new Dragon/Ground type that is a pseudo-legendary? My poor poor Flygon. And it didn’t get any better. I mean seriously, give Mewtwo and Charizard two megas but none to Flygon? WHILE GIVING ONE TO GARCHOMP WHO DIDN’T NEED IT AND WAS ITS BIGGEST COMPETITION?! Why Game Freak? Why?Anyway, mini-rant aside, I love Flygon. The design is incredible. The line is based on an antlion and is so cool. That sweet green design and the little lenses over the eyes? Perfect, just perfect. Plus, it has some sweet lore. Appearing in sandstorms with haunting music coming from its wings? Yes please. Beautiful pokemon that was done such disservices. It’s a shame really. With Megas gone, Flygon will likely never get that final boost it needs. Though considering it is in Galar while Garchomp isn’t… maybe Flygon will have a chance to shine again. (A shame though that it will never get to have a type change to Bug Dragon. Would be sick.) Regardless of the future though, Flygon will always have a place in my heart, and in my team.
6: Zoroark. Yeah, I know what I said about team composition above with Toxtricity and Grimmsnarl. But  I also pointed out mood has a lot to do with it. Anyway, for Zoroark itself. Like Lucario, I’veb een a fan for so long, ever since it was first introduced. It’s kinda funny in a way. Zoroark acts as the perfect yin to Lucario’s yang. Lucario uses aura to sense things and to see, Zoroark is the maser of illusions. In it of itself, this illusion business is awesome, but add in how it counters Lucario and it works just so well. Typing as well, Lucario is a fighting steel, the type you’d think of for a chivalrous paladin of justice and truth, while Zoroark is dark (evil type in Japan), perfect for a sly illusion master. Of course, it’s not just dualism with Lucario. The line is just so amazing itself. Clearly drawing from Kitsune, Zoroark is a sly fox that is able to not just use illusions, but masters them to the point of being able to create solid constructs out of them (see the anime). It is just so cool, how can I not love it? Also, like Tyranitar before it, I used a female one named Vixen in my Ultra Sun playthrough and it was a delight.
Anyway, that would be my team. You know, assuming all the limitations I put on myself and my mood at this moment. But if you guys enjoyed this and want to know more about my favorite pokemon, please let me know. I’m always happy and excited to talk about Pokemon.
Anyway, going to hand this over to the other mods. I’ve been monopolizing this ask for too long.
Ooo!! This’ll be fun to answer! Cause, well, I love Pokémon!!!
Tumblr media
But, forgive me for this; I haven’t played any of the games.
Tumblr media
So im just saying my favorite characters!!!
Tumblr media
1: Glacieon, I really, really like glacieons and have always loved ice type Pokémon. Mainly because I really like the cold. Like; really, really, like the cold. I also really like her attacks, their cool!!! (Pun intended)
2: Furret. Absolutely furret, I never knew why I liked furret, but. I’m just gonna blame it on me really liking Ferrets and cause I honestly have really liked normal types for some reason.
3: Vulpix (either one), I really like any fire type Pokémon mainly because I’ve always just had a very weird interest in fire and because vulpix can be either a fire or ice Pokémon I love that about them. And they remind me of a bunch of irl animals that I love!!
4: Smom , I LOVE THOSE LIL ICE BABEYS SO MUCH!?!? They are so cute-!? I JUST LOVE THEM SO MUCH???! They are all my children and I want to adopt them all, and I will. No one can stop me………except maybe the other mods-
5: Sylveon, absolutely. I always have such an attachment even with digital animals, so I absolutely would give my eevee enough attention and love for them to evolve into sylveon. Honestly, it’d end up be accidental, but, I still really love Sylveon, and wouldn’t care if I got more than one of them-
6: Flareon, listen- I just love eevees okay-? I love them all so so much, and would lay down my life for each and every one of them. Just 💞💞💕💖💓💖💝💞💖💕💝💓💕💞💖💞💖💝💘💖💕💕💞
Ah, I bet you missed hearing from me! No worries, I’ll tell you my pokemon team, even if it’s not particularly exciting.
First off, a Pachirisu is a must for my team. I’ve always loved how hyper it can be and the mishaps it would cause. Plus, c’mon- who doesn’t like its color scheme?
I’d also incorporate Chimchar to my team. I’ve always had a soft spot for Chimchar, since it was my first ever starter and I leveled mine all the way up to 100 in my Pokemon Platinum playthrough.
Yamper definitely had my heart the moment I saw it! I have a really strong love for dogs, and its addition to the game got me so excited!! Kirigiri can vouch for me on that one.
Growlithe is also integral to me. When my dog was a puppy, I used to jokingly call her a growlithe. I don’t think I still have pictures, but I even got her a floof for halloween once so she could be in a costume with me. Also... Arcanine is seriously badass.
Wooloo is super cute too! I love that it rolls away from its problems, and I, too, wish to do that. Plus the braids immediately reminded me of Peko, so I was super soft for it the moment it was revealed.
Finally, I’ll add my favorite Eeveelution to the team: Glaceon! Something about its sleek design always made me happy, and the way its fur sharpens as defense is super interesting!
(If legendaries were allowed on the team, I would’ve added either Giratina or Shaymin. They’re my favorites.
Chikorita and Pachirisu!
AHHHHHHH I SAID I’D DO THIS WHEN I GOT HOME AND COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT IT SORRY!
Chikorita: Which is your favourite region?
HHhhhhhhhhmmmmmmm.... Unova! I think it’s really cool there, I like lots of the cities there and lots of variety for the places, like Virbank city! That place is super cool! Close second would have to be Alola for it’s vibrant colours and my love for tropical regions.
Pachirisu: What is your favourite thing about Pokemon?
Tie between pokemon and double battles! I love seeing all the hyper cool designs they come up with and getting to train a good few that I’ve really grown attached to, Plus I’m late but I’M DYING OVER ULTRA NEOCROZMA and I will always have a place in my heart for Latios from pokemon heroes TTwTT (I’m a huge sucker for dragons okay).  I love doing tag team battles and truely miss when the older games would pair you up with a npc to explore some areas together since I always enjoyed that. (plus me and my friend have a pretty high streak on the battle subway). Double Battles are fun!
Ps you reminded me of my Pachirisu plush that I forgot I have so I’ll try and find it later
Thanks for asking!
